  1. Nari watched as Fae suddenly went pale, her eyes locked on the cave as something began to unfurl itself. Nari felt herself shift as the creature straightened up, the health bar coming to life almost instantly in response to their stumbling upon it. Although the creature itself wasn't anything overly powerful looking - frightening, to be sure - Nari realised belatedly that this was likely the thing that Fae had run into all those years ago. A creature that had embedded itself into her memory in the worst of ways. She watched, waiting, as Fae rushed forwards, her first attack going wide a
  2. "A few, if the information is to be believed..." Her voice seemed distant as she pulled up her menu, checking the messages again. Her brow furrowed as she realised that she'd missed a key point, the insight bringing her to a complete stop as she pulled up her map instead. "Looks like we can skip the whole 'listen to the locals gossip' bit, though...so long as I have...ha! There." She keyed in the pinpoint for the forest, before turning to her left and leading down another path. According to her source, if they arrived in the forest itself, what little Nari had heard from the original NPCs
  3. Nari bit her tongue, hard. Hard enough that she likely would've drawn blood, had they been in the real world. The dragon comment had been far worse than she'd realised at first, and her attempt to cover it up...well, she had no one but herself to blame. She considered the comment about swords and forks, her mind trying to figure out what hidden message there was there. It had seemed forthright at first, but something about it felt deeper; a story hidden behind the thoughts themselves. She'd thought about asking outright at first, before deciding it was better to just push it aside as some
  4. For the briefest of moments, Nari felt like groaning. They had limited information, limited preparation, and nothing more than a vague encounter a couple years ago to go on. It wasn't the most ideal situation, especially if they were going to face a possible field boss. As if you haven't gone into situations previously without any preparation, prior information, or a good clear sight of what you were facing... She hated that the voice in her head was right. How many times had she simply walked into a quest, or an encounter, or even a new floor without any prior...well, anything. She had n
  5. It had taken a full hour of scouring the area before they'd found Nemo. The man had been situated outside of the village - if you could even call it that - itself, apparently drawn into the local fauna with an interest that bordered onto questionable. Another five minutes of talking, and he'd led the two towards the gateway of his garden. Nari was still curious as to why they hadn't just made a single entryway into the whole garden that didn't require chasing down a man who was never to be found in the same place. While it did make it more luxurious in a way, it also closed off access to only

  7. It really was amazing how easy a profession became once one had gained some simple practice with it, the entire experience making it all the more frustrating at lower levels. Nari could still remember all the struggles she'd gone through, just trying to get anything that would work, anything that wouldn't shatter immediately or leave her with something horrid. Now, she was able to produce pieces that were near perfect in quality; pieces she could be truly proud to sell to others.
  8. She almost laughed at the joke. If it even was a joke; Nari couldn't be entirely sure. She'd managed to stifle the reaction either way, shaking her head in exchange and response. It hadn't been her most impressive attempt at covering the topic, but at least she had said it without any breakdowns. "You don't need to be sorry. I may have lost...well, I've gained a good friend. One who I can trust with my life, and whom I hope can trust mine with theirs in turn. I would say that's a fair trade, and better than any worse outcomes, wouldn't you?" She considered mentioning more, about things th
  9. Nari took a half step back, her eyes holding a bit of confusion at the lack of response she'd gotten in greeting. Something felt off about NIGHT's entire aura, as if there was an apprehension behind it all. Confusion messing with her mind, Nari was slow to respond to the jest about her name, shaking her head in response before even realising it was a joke at all. "Err, no. Nari-Lanreth. It's...not an imitation...ah...heh, funny, I guess?" The words rang without humour as she continued trying to figure out what was going on, before having her attention ripped away at the mention of other s
  10. Whatever Nari had been expecting, this wasn't it. The story, in a sense, she'd perhaps expected - it was one that seemed to ring out across Aincrad from many different individuals. Herself included. In this world, someone had lost...well, someone. It wasn't uncommon. Nor was it uncommon to feel lost after such an event, to feel left alone and unable to move forwards. It was something that Nari herself had struggled with for a time. If I hadn't had someone to rely upon... "Yeah, I'll come with you. For sure." Her smile left nothing to doubt, no hesitation in giving the answer. Fae needed h
  11. Nari's posture changed slightly, a minor straightening in her stance that bespoke the reaction that she was having towards the scene before her. Fae's health had already dropped significantly, and although the girl hadn't called for help, Nari was one step away from rushing in regardless. The only thing holding her back was the fact that she knew what it was likely to have another come to your rescue, especially when you didn't need it. It's not over quite yet...if she can just get the upper hand, and avoid any major retaliation...she should be okay. Her hesitation gave leave to another,
  12. Her arrival didn't take long, and Nari found herself waiting for a few minutes before @NIGHT arrived. The familiar face seemed to glance around, as if searching for Nari, before sending out a quick message. Standing from the small local she'd snuggled into - likely hiding her from view unintentionally - Nari walked up behind NIGHT, giving a slight cough as she approached before speaking softly. The ding of the message drawing her attention, already knowing what it was. "Here. I've only been waiting for a few moments." She glanced around the floor, before waving a hand in the direction tow
  13. How long had it been? Days, weeks, months? Nari wasn't quite sure. It felt like years - but then again, everything in this game felt like years. Not that it really mattered, in the end. The length of time had little impact on the actual effect - an effect that had been made clear during the scouting mission. Her eyes hovered over the message. It was short, brief, emotionless. Everything her messages usually weren't. But what more was there to say? What was important to say couldn't go into a typed display, it needed to be vocalised. To: @NIGHT From: @Nari-Lanreth

  15. Success. Everything had been relatively successful thus far. Enough so that Nari was beginning to feel the excitement every time she thought about the recording studio. Once, it had been trivial. Time consuming. Nothing more than a frustration. But like everything that was practiced, now it was almost easy.
  16. Nari stood awkwardly for a few breaths as Onóra collected herself, waiting to hear the other's answer. She wasn't sure if she would be welcomed - Nemo's paradise did have limitations on how much could be found, and some individuals had become greedy and less welcoming when it came to the natural paradise. Still, she hoped that there was still enough of a friendship between herself and the blonde to warrant the question without being immediately denied. "Yeah, together. I'd...love the company." The way that it was worded made Nari pause. There was a hollowness to it - not something that wa
  17. Snow was flying everywhere, to the point that Nari was beginning to lose track of who was where, and whom she was supposed to target. Not that it mattered in the end, they were all here for a good, fun time. Which is appeared they were having. From the sound of laughter that rang over the area, Nari felt that for once in their time here, they were actually enjoying themselves. Even if everything had been horrible, for a brief moment, there was happiness. Blissful freedom from the darkness that seemed to surround them every day, looming over them non-stop. "Lessssaaaaaaaa! I'm coming for

  19. The smile returned, masking the pain and fear that Nari had seen moments ago. She knew what it meant, that the conversation was essentially over. Yet, she couldn't find herself upset about it. She'd come that much closer to Astreya over the last few hours, learning more and more about the girl - about her true side. Sure, there was still a lot there left uncovered, but Nari knew that it wasn't her place to pry. The girl had secrets she wanted to keep, just as Nari did. Standing, she held out a hand for Astreya, smiling down at the girl with a genuine expression. "Come on, we should be he
  20. Jomei seemed almost...calm, after the entire encounter. Calmer than Nari felt, calmer than she expected she appeared. She was glad to hear that he was fine, however, but blushed ever so slightly when he apologised for her having to take the brunt of the battle. She gave the man a thumbs up and a wide grin. "Don't worry about it, I was a tank not too long ago. I'm used to being pounded on, and this was nothing." A few breadths passed in silence before Nari's mind clicked with what she had said aloud. Turning back towards the hill that the soldiers have come from, Nari tried to hide her emb
  21. Time passed slowly for a few seconds as Nari wondered what she should do. She wanted to console her friend, to take away her pain. To make things right. She'd been in this position before; the hurt and suffering that came with the loss of another - especially one close. But she wasn't sure how to help, she wasn't sure what boundaries there were between her and Onóra now. What she could, and could not do. "I'm...I'll be okay..." Nari doubted the words, but didn't argue. She knew better - it would take time to heal the pain, to make it entirely go away. But she also didn't want to doubt the

  23. It felt good to return to the consistent repetitive task of performing. Although it was monotonous, creating the same thing over and over again, there was a...schedule, to it. An outcome expected. It set a precedence for what her day consisted of, and made her feel like she had a purpose. Not to mention, it put the piano to work.
  24. She could hear the almost breaking point in the other girl's words. As if there was the feeling of...being trapped? Was that...fear? Nari couldn't say for certain, but as she felt her brow furrowing, she couldn't help but reach out and lay a hand on Astreya's shoulder. "You won't be there alone." Her voice was soft, but there was no hesitation in the words. She knew that when it came down to it, so long as she was still alive, Nari would be walking through those dangers at the end with her. With anyone else who was still there. She would be there, no matter what. "There's a differenc
  25. Jomei struck out, taking down one of the captains. Nari watched as the second one faltered, then exploded into shards as the bleed effect took over and finished it off. Jomei was right, all that was left was the general itself. If they could end it, then the town would be safe. The fight would be over. Just a little bit more...we got this! She pushed herself into motion, fighting against the fatigue that was plaguing her muscles. The fight had already gone on longer than she liked - far longer than most basic skirmishes that they took part in, in this game. She felt her legs burning, her
