  1. Nari shouldered the consideration for the moment, knowing that it wasn't worth trying until the new familiar was more comfortable with her - if it ever became that comfortable. Looking at it, though, she felt a similar connection to one she had once held with Yuki; a familiarity and bond that seemed to echo beyond time and the general world of Aincrad. As if it was right. Maybe...maybe she's in there, somewhere... She knew that the fox - kitsune - was just a piece of code, a strand of words and letters, just like Yuki had once been. It wasn't entirely impossible, or implausible, that a pa
  2. The underground lake was easy enough for them to stumble upon - literally falling across it as they found themselves quickly submerged. Although able to breath without issue or fault, Nari found the experience of being beneath the surface less than pleasant. Although she wanted to, she resisted the desire to call out to NIGHT - partially knowing that it likely wouldn't work, and partially afraid she'd somehow consume water and drown herself unwittingly. Instead, she watched as NIGHT began striking - as if in slow motion - at the pillars that seemed to surround them. Pillars...gods that's
  3. Tiring, was the word that Nari would have used to describe the combat they were currently in. Although she was taking the majority of the hits, she could tell that they were getting slowly overwhelmed - one of the Red Cloaked creatures managing to slip by and land a strike against Koga. Without turning to look, she called out towards the black haired swordsman, the strain from the fight covering her words. "Sorry - one got by me. Shit there's a lot of them...um...but there don't seem to be any more appearing right now!" She tried to put a positive spin on it, hoping that the ambush was sl
  4. Nari leaned back against a rock, smiling as she thought about all the different foods that were available. The selection that she went through daily was...limited, but only through necessity and not by choice - it was expensive to eat well everyday, and when you were looking at upkeeping gear and fighting constantly, well... "That's easy. A nice, well done cordon bleu, preferably with a side of oven-roasted fries, and a cayenne-dip mixture...not that those are easy to find in Aincrad. But..." She fell silent. She was about to mention how good it would be once they made it out, before real
  5. "Well, you two seem to be getting along well..." Onóra's voice whispered from behind her ear, the breath leaving a faint heat behind that caused Nari to shiver. The fox-like creature at her side glanced upwards in reaction to the words, tittering ever so slightly in response. Careful not to disturb it too much, Nari reached into the bag and provided the creature with another treat - knowing that she shouldn't waste them, but also unable to resist spoiling it a little bit more. "It looks kinda like a kitsune...one of those Japanese foxes out of those stories..." Nari glanced at the fox aga
  6. Nari stood still as she gazed over the massacre that was once a nest. The gore before her was far beyond anything else that she had ever seen in Aincrad, and for the moment she couldn't look away - her eyes focused on the horror. When the voice spoke from behind them, it took Nari by surprise, causing her to spin and whip the scythe around into a ready stance behind her, before she'd even laid eyes on the dragon itself. "Why have you come here, little ones? Do you desire further bloodshed, further death?" Nari stepped back at the fury in the voice, her mind racing as she tried to find the
  7. Another familiar store, a place that she had been relatively recently as well. Nari pushed through the entryway, taking a deep breath of the familiar smells associated with the arts of crafting weapon and armour. Glancing through the smoke haze that seemed to hover on the air, she headed towards the blacksmith with a confident stride, before placing her scythe, and another piece on the table. "Hey, looking to get another piece done if you've got the time. Bit of a combination of items, please." Carefully and with purpose, she laid out the design she was looking for in the new weapon, mark
  8. Nari wandered into the small store again, feeling like she'd just recently been here. Taking a few moments, she moved throughout the shop, looking over numerous items and searching for the piece she was truly desiring. What she found, hidden away in the backroom, caught her eyes the moment she came across it. Leaning back out towards the shopkeeper in the front, she waved a hand towards the piece before asking about it. "Hey, uh...is this for sale? Cause I'd sure love it if you're not going to use it...or, you know, if no one else has it on order or anything silly..." Taking 02/04/22 |
  9. Nari glanced behind her at Onóra, making sure the woman could get a view of the creature outside. She held a single finger up to her lips, before taking a few steps forwards. The fox creature matched her steps, keeping the distance between them, but not fleeing as soon as she moved. Realising that the creature wasn't going to immediately run away, but also wasn't going to let Nari get any closer at the current time, she carefully lowered herself to the ground. Careful not to move too quickly, she placed the treat bag in front of her, opening it up so that the smells would reach the fox in the
  10. The trees rustled as Nari stepped back out, and she found herself sliding into her defensive stance naturally. Her eyes roamed the area, looking for whatever had made the sound, her scythe held in the ready position behind her back even as she searched. From behind her, Onóra's whispered words reached her ears. "Hey...what's going on? Somebody out there? This is a safe zone so we should be okay..." Nari relaxed ever so slightly as the words reached her ears, calming her just enough to think straight. She was just about to reply, when the small black nose caught her attention, drawing her
  11. "Hey..." Nari stopped at the sound of the voice, not looking at her friend. She was well aware that Onóra was only trying to help, but the entire experience had left a sour taste in Nari's mouth - a taste that she couldn't get rid of, no matter how she tried to approach it differently. Somehow, deep down inside, she felt like she was betraying Yuki. Like she was accepting that the fox was gone forever, never to return. "If you don't want to do this..." I have to do this...Onóra's right. Yuki's not coming back. For whatever reason, she's gone. And she won't be coming back. I just...need to
  12. "Hello again." The voice was familiar, but it was the visage standing before Nari that brought back memories. Searching through the snow covered forests for the small creature that would eventually become her friend. Managing to coax it in towards herself, before eventually getting it calm enough to be fed - and in turn making a friend that had lasted for years in the making. "Are you here for a new companion? I seem to remember your face..." Nari took a step back in surprise. There weren't many NPCs that remembered their encounters, and the few who did were generally dangerous - well ou

  14. The new setup was comfortable, if requiring a bit of adjustment. Nari spent a few moments before getting started adjusting the location of the piano, moving it ever so slightly so that it echoed more prominently on her held notes, making sure that the sound was captured perfectly. Once she had settled herself, she began humming a now familiar tune that she had been working on for a few weeks already.
  15. Nari huffed, but didn't acknowledge the jab at her information broker. Riddles or not, they'd proven reliable - far more so than some of the others she'd attempted using. Instead, she decided to answer the one question that was something she could answer - at least, more so than anything else that had been brought up. "I'm trying to track out position based upon the sky, beyond the forest itself. Light and dark. Wavering. It's one way to try and keep track of where you are in the forest, albeit not easy...the forest may waver but the sky doesn't." At the mention of the nest, Nari realise
  16. "I just told you I've never met-no. It's...Onóra...uhm, I think you two met once?" Her response came automatically, even as her eyes shot up towards the canopy above them, refusing to look at NIGHT while she spoke. She waited, tensely, for any sort of response, before carrying on with her words. "And you shouldn't knock the info broker too much. They've saved my life far more than I care to admit." Unable to restrain herself, Nari continued walking, heading straight forward as she continued looking up at the canopy. She wasn't sure what she had expected from NIGHT, but she wasn't surprise
  17. Nari glanced at the message again, before closing it. She followed along behind NIGHT, taking a few extra steps to get beside the girl again before answering the question that was likely rhetorical. "From an information broker that I...well, I don't know them, really...in fact I've never actually m-err...anyways. They always send messages like this. The thing is...they've never been wrong. Once I decipher them, that is. One hundred percent accuracy, if you can figure out the messages within the message." As the two continued along the pathway they'd been following - or at least, Nari thou

  19. It had taken the longest time to move the piano, settling it in the new studio exactly where she wanted it. She'd never felt herself to be fussy about design, but something about the recording studio required a much more specific hand. It wasn't a place that Nari felt she could simply place things down, and be happy about it. It needed to sit properly, to orient with everything else in the studio - and most importantly, to revibrate with the general amphitheatre feel she was going for. As she glanced over everything, finally content, she settled herself in to begin the true work for the day.
  20. The pathway wound through the forest, leading them to the small temple where Nari and Onóra found themselves alone for the first time since entering the floor. The few individuals they'd passed on the path - most heading back towards the main settlement - had smiled and waved, but left them alone otherwise. Now, in the small clearing that housed the temple, the two found themselves without anyone else around. "Well, looks like no gypsy." Nari kept the smirk off her face. She wasn't upset with Onóra at all - her friend had only been trying to help, and it wasn't like she had any control o
  21. The forest had seemed far away when they'd started, and Nari had prepared herself for a long climb down the mountain. Pulling up her menu, she'd pulled a spyglass she'd purchased before trying to spot the temple itself in the distance - the building appearing after only a few moments, shaky due to her movement but otherwise clear and obvious. "Huh...there it is..." She handed the spyglass to Onóra so that the blonde could spot their destination, before marking the location on her mini-map. Even approximating it, she was surprised to see that their path led directly to the location, and t
