  1. The ping drew her eyes to her left, the flashing indication of a message pulling her attention away from the meal she'd been working on mere seconds ago. She hadn't been expecting any messages - although, who ever was? Curiosity overcoming her, she flicked open the indicator and let her eyes roam over the transmission. A field boss...unique consumable...only obtainable by defeating the boss? She'd heard rumours about these field bosses before - she'd even faced a few previously. They had never been easy, back then she'd been weaker. Nothing like she was now. She closed the message, the
  2. Nari's head turned as another spoke to her right, drawing her attention towards the two figures standing there. One, was clearly a player whom Nari had never seen before. The other, however, was an NPC that she immediately recognised - one that she had long-lasting feelings towards, even now. Her eyes narrowed as she spotted the NPC, her body naturally taking a half-step backwards in reaction. For a single moment, she forgot to answer, forgot that a question was even asked of her. When she did answer, her voice was full of hesitation and apprehension. "Huh? Come...yeah. Yeah sure. Uh...su
  3. Nari nodded, half-listening as Jomei thanked her and then proffered the need to keep some on hand. Nari smiled at him, before shrugging ever so slightly. "No need to fret, I always keep some extras lying around...just in case. Plus, with how we handle things...the King should be afeared of us." Her eyes turned towards the castle in the distance, a hardness coming into her expression. The once invisible keep, hidden behind clouds that had kept it from their view, now stood proudly against the skies and sunlight, basking in elegance and likely designed to intimidate whomsoever looked upon i
  4. Nari fought rolling out of bed, not wanting to get up, but knowing that she would have to do so eventually anyways. The small fox-like creature slammed into her chest, bouncing as it playfully tried to discomfort the dark haired woman. "Nooo....Mio....stop..." The words came out as displeasured groans, Nari fighting against the pull and push of the kitsune as she tried to blindly push it away. "Stoooppppp...come on....just....just five more...ugh, fine...I'm up. I'm getting up...you win." Slowly, with lots of verbal disagreement, Nari rolled out of the bed. The corner of her eye c

  6. The days had been quiet, with no customers aside from the green haired warrior, Nari wasn't even sure why she was focusing so hard on producing new items. Sure, one day they'd need them for facing the floor boss. One day they'd be useful, maybe. But right now? Right now it seemed barren, a wasteland. Which is all the more reason to look to the future.
  7. The alert had come in a few days later, surprising Nari. She'd quickly put away the pieces she'd been working on, before making her way down to the seventh, locating the blacksmith shop and heading in. "Hey Vig, just here to pick up an order!" She called out, before crossing to the counter. The scythe laid across the countertop, gleaming in elegance. "Perfect! Thank you, so much!" Scythe in hand, she made her way back out of the shop, wondering where her other pieces were at, before deciding to stop in and check on them. Retreiving Reaper's Charge | T4 Scythe (Polearm)

  9. Quiet. The mornings were always so quiet, almost peaceful in a sense. Nari had to resist the urge to leave that quiet untouched - unbothered. There was work to do, and that work meant breaking the quiet, no matter how peaceful it may seem.

  12. There had always been a solace in the piano room, an almost mystical feel to it for Nari. But as she sat down at the piano again, for another day of recording, she wondered what it was that always drew her back here - was it the memories, the emotions that she felt when she was playing? Was it the reminder of everything that had come and gone? Or was it the hope, of the future to be?

  14. "Alright...reorganised a bit...name change done...now just to...get some actual work done." Nothing was left beyond creating the actual songs - an effort that she had been putting off up until this point. Sighing, she settled in behind the piano to begin the real work of the day, knowing that she could avoid it no longer.

  16. "Oh, come on!" Nari whined as another group pushed her backwards from the teleporter, the leader sneering at her as they stepped up onto the platform, before calling out something less than pleasant. "Yeah, fuck you too. Asshole. I hope something bites you, hard." She turned to Onóra, about to complain to the blonde when her eyes caught movement - a flash of red and white as the small kitsune launched itself towards the man whom had just shoved Nari aside, slamming into him and latching its teeth into his leg. The man shrieked, shaking his leg a few times before managing to dislodge the k
  17. The throng of individuals pressing against Nari reminded her of the dislike she had for these main settlements - especially the ones that were overly packed with NPCs, players trying to make their way ahead in the game, and the numerous others who seemed to loiter about. It had started the moment they had come towards the peak-city on the floor, the giant bazaar unsurprisingly creating a perfect meshing point for individuals of all means. "Mio...don't go too far ahead. I would hate to lose sight of you." Nari whispered towards the kitsune, hoping that it would hear her above the noise of
  18. The further away from the temple they got, the more Nari relaxed - as if the burden of past tensions were being left behind as they climbed. She stopped once to glance back down, a feeling of apprehension hovering over her for the briefest of moments. Onóra stopped as well, stepping close and laying a hand on her arm, before speaking. "Take as long as you need..." Simple words, that gave no clarification, no answers or any sort of path forwards. Yet somehow, they seemed to calm whatever emotions had been boiling within Nari, letting her ease away from the anger and frustration. Quietly, s
  19. "Mio...I would say unique, but it seems somewhat common. I like it, though." Onóra's voice spoke from over her shoulder, the blonde clearly having leaned in to read the message without saying anything. Nari yelped in surprise, before Onóra continued talking - ignoring the fact that she'd scared Nari entirely. "Male kitsune...guess I was right on the kitsune part. So, Mio. Should we go back and introduce you to the house?" The kitsune seemed to jump at the idea, managing to wiggle free from Nari's embrace and taking a few steps ahead, before turning to see if they were following. Nari thre
  20. She was expecting Onóra to be the one who would react, who would try to comfort her. Instead, she found the kitsune at her feet, standing on its back paws and resting its forepaws on her for balance. The small creature looked up at her, a glint in its eyes that Nari could only describe as caring, as if it was upset that she was upset. You have them now...you can't be breaking down every time you think of Yuki. It's not fair, not fair to them... She knelt down, getting down on the kitsune's level so that it could stand properly. Four of the tails seemed to wave in excitement as she did so
  21. The gypsy woman was waiting for them, her arms crossed and a slight smile across her face. Somehow, that entire expression caused Nari more anger than when she'd first seen the woman. "I see the treats brought you success, I'm glad. I hope your new friend-" "Here's your treats. Piss off." She tossed the treats at the woman before turning and leaving the room, the small fox and Onóra tailing behind her. She could see the worried look of Onóra's face out of the corner of her eyes, but Nari refused to acknowledge it, at least for the moment. Onóra' seemed content not to bring anything up, a
  22. Pushing herself to her feet, knowing that the old words were right as much as she hated them, Nari smiled at her new companion, before nodding towards the temple. "We should go return these treats, and then think up a name for you...and maybe take you home and introduce you to...err...everyone, and everything. Oh, and I guess we'll need a bed for you...and maybe some treats...and...err...what do kitsune normally eat?" The final question was tossed towards Onóra, Nari realising suddenly that she had absolutely no idea what to feed the thing. She doubted it would complain about treats for e
