  1. Another familiar store, a place that she had been relatively recently as well. Nari pushed through the entryway, taking a deep breath of the familiar smells associated with the arts of crafting weapon and armour. Glancing through the smoke haze that seemed to hover on the air, she headed towards the blacksmith with a confident stride, before placing her scythe, and another piece on the table. "Hey, looking to get another piece done if you've got the time. Bit of a combination of items, please." Carefully and with purpose, she laid out the design she was looking for in the new weapon, mark
  2. Nari wandered into the small store again, feeling like she'd just recently been here. Taking a few moments, she moved throughout the shop, looking over numerous items and searching for the piece she was truly desiring. What she found, hidden away in the backroom, caught her eyes the moment she came across it. Leaning back out towards the shopkeeper in the front, she waved a hand towards the piece before asking about it. "Hey, uh...is this for sale? Cause I'd sure love it if you're not going to use it...or, you know, if no one else has it on order or anything silly..." Taking 02/04/22 |
  3. Nari glanced behind her at Onóra, making sure the woman could get a view of the creature outside. She held a single finger up to her lips, before taking a few steps forwards. The fox creature matched her steps, keeping the distance between them, but not fleeing as soon as she moved. Realising that the creature wasn't going to immediately run away, but also wasn't going to let Nari get any closer at the current time, she carefully lowered herself to the ground. Careful not to move too quickly, she placed the treat bag in front of her, opening it up so that the smells would reach the fox in the
  4. The trees rustled as Nari stepped back out, and she found herself sliding into her defensive stance naturally. Her eyes roamed the area, looking for whatever had made the sound, her scythe held in the ready position behind her back even as she searched. From behind her, Onóra's whispered words reached her ears. "Hey...what's going on? Somebody out there? This is a safe zone so we should be okay..." Nari relaxed ever so slightly as the words reached her ears, calming her just enough to think straight. She was just about to reply, when the small black nose caught her attention, drawing her
  5. "Hey..." Nari stopped at the sound of the voice, not looking at her friend. She was well aware that Onóra was only trying to help, but the entire experience had left a sour taste in Nari's mouth - a taste that she couldn't get rid of, no matter how she tried to approach it differently. Somehow, deep down inside, she felt like she was betraying Yuki. Like she was accepting that the fox was gone forever, never to return. "If you don't want to do this..." I have to do this...Onóra's right. Yuki's not coming back. For whatever reason, she's gone. And she won't be coming back. I just...need to
  6. "Hello again." The voice was familiar, but it was the visage standing before Nari that brought back memories. Searching through the snow covered forests for the small creature that would eventually become her friend. Managing to coax it in towards herself, before eventually getting it calm enough to be fed - and in turn making a friend that had lasted for years in the making. "Are you here for a new companion? I seem to remember your face..." Nari took a step back in surprise. There weren't many NPCs that remembered their encounters, and the few who did were generally dangerous - well ou

  8. The new setup was comfortable, if requiring a bit of adjustment. Nari spent a few moments before getting started adjusting the location of the piano, moving it ever so slightly so that it echoed more prominently on her held notes, making sure that the sound was captured perfectly. Once she had settled herself, she began humming a now familiar tune that she had been working on for a few weeks already.
  9. Nari huffed, but didn't acknowledge the jab at her information broker. Riddles or not, they'd proven reliable - far more so than some of the others she'd attempted using. Instead, she decided to answer the one question that was something she could answer - at least, more so than anything else that had been brought up. "I'm trying to track out position based upon the sky, beyond the forest itself. Light and dark. Wavering. It's one way to try and keep track of where you are in the forest, albeit not easy...the forest may waver but the sky doesn't." At the mention of the nest, Nari realise
  10. "I just told you I've never met-no. It's...Onóra...uhm, I think you two met once?" Her response came automatically, even as her eyes shot up towards the canopy above them, refusing to look at NIGHT while she spoke. She waited, tensely, for any sort of response, before carrying on with her words. "And you shouldn't knock the info broker too much. They've saved my life far more than I care to admit." Unable to restrain herself, Nari continued walking, heading straight forward as she continued looking up at the canopy. She wasn't sure what she had expected from NIGHT, but she wasn't surprise
  11. Nari glanced at the message again, before closing it. She followed along behind NIGHT, taking a few extra steps to get beside the girl again before answering the question that was likely rhetorical. "From an information broker that I...well, I don't know them, really...in fact I've never actually m-err...anyways. They always send messages like this. The thing is...they've never been wrong. Once I decipher them, that is. One hundred percent accuracy, if you can figure out the messages within the message." As the two continued along the pathway they'd been following - or at least, Nari thou

  13. It had taken the longest time to move the piano, settling it in the new studio exactly where she wanted it. She'd never felt herself to be fussy about design, but something about the recording studio required a much more specific hand. It wasn't a place that Nari felt she could simply place things down, and be happy about it. It needed to sit properly, to orient with everything else in the studio - and most importantly, to revibrate with the general amphitheatre feel she was going for. As she glanced over everything, finally content, she settled herself in to begin the true work for the day.
  14. The pathway wound through the forest, leading them to the small temple where Nari and Onóra found themselves alone for the first time since entering the floor. The few individuals they'd passed on the path - most heading back towards the main settlement - had smiled and waved, but left them alone otherwise. Now, in the small clearing that housed the temple, the two found themselves without anyone else around. "Well, looks like no gypsy." Nari kept the smirk off her face. She wasn't upset with Onóra at all - her friend had only been trying to help, and it wasn't like she had any control o
  15. The forest had seemed far away when they'd started, and Nari had prepared herself for a long climb down the mountain. Pulling up her menu, she'd pulled a spyglass she'd purchased before trying to spot the temple itself in the distance - the building appearing after only a few moments, shaky due to her movement but otherwise clear and obvious. "Huh...there it is..." She handed the spyglass to Onóra so that the blonde could spot their destination, before marking the location on her mini-map. Even approximating it, she was surprised to see that their path led directly to the location, and t
  16. Nari relaxed a bit once the two had made it beyond the gates of the settlement, the crowd dispersing to a mere collection of stragglers making their way into, or out of the main gates. Somehow, even though the roads beyond the gate were outside of the safe zone, Nari found it more peaceful than the throng of crowds that had greeted them upon their arrival to the floor. "Fresh air...gotta give this floor that. No toxic wastes, biting cold, or overly warm tinges. Just pure, mountain air..." Onóra walked along with her hands behind her back, the longsword on her hip jingling slightly as it
  17. Floor Fifteen The teleporter hummed to life, before Nari and Onóra materialised into being. The two took a quick look around, before stepping off the platform and down into the crowd that seemed to constantly move throughout the main avenue of the giant bazaar. The place, like always, reminded Nari of a mixture of Middle Eastern and Asian venues, the giant keep within the mountains seeming almost monk-like in aspect. "Come on...not going to find her here, that's for sure." Onóra led the way out of the main bazaar, and towards the gates of the city. Nari followed diligently, conte
  18. "That. Thinking about what you did wrong, what you could have done better. As if her leaving was your fault, somehow." The blonde leaned forward, shoving Nari's shoulder. "I saw you with that fox...you didn't drive her away. If she left, it was for a good reason." Nari shrugged. She'd liked never learn what that reason was, no matter how much searching she did. Time had only confirmed one thing - Yuki wasn't coming back, no matter how long she waited for the fox to return. Whatever the reason, the fox had decided - or perhaps been told - that their time together was done, and nothing Nari
  19. Nari leaned back against the wall, watching as Fae downed a healing potion and Avoryn picked up the whip. It had just been something that she had in her inventory - an item from a quest, if she remembered correctly - but the green-haired woman somehow seemed uncomfortable with it. "Sorry, didn't really have anything else that would work. Err...yeah, sure, I mean, I don't use it much myself, so if you keep it no big deal. I don't think I'll ever use something like a whip." She glanced over at the boars, taking in the fact that Fae had already put one down. The others seemed riled up, read
  20. The weeks had passed in a blur, as Nari tried to recover from the loss of her friend. She'd found herself wandering the fourth floor for a few days, searching for Yuki in every possible corner of the snow-covered lands that she could possible look through. It had taken quite some time for Nari to finally accept the reality of the situation - her friend had left her behind. "You're doing it again. The lost in thought and ignoring the world around you bit." Onóra's voice pulled Nari from her musings. The blonde had been visiting her frequently as of late, subtly trying to cheer Nari up thr
  21. Floor Four Nari shook off the snow that had fallen on top of her, most of it making its way straight down the back of her shirt and creating a frozen line down her spine. "Ohhhhh when I catch you, you are going to pay. No treats for you tonight!" The small fox seemed to pause at the threat, staring at Nari as if questioning whether she truly meant it or not. The pause was long enough for Nari to rush forward, her hands reaching out to grasp the fox. Yuki was far too fast for Nari, however, and the fox bounded into the snow, disappearing from sight off to her right. "Hey! Get
