  1. Nari listened quietly as she roamed through the grasses with her hands, nodding at some of the points that Astreya had made. It wasn't that she disagreed with the fundamental ideologies of it, sure - Cardinal might decide it was worth keeping them in here for further investigation, or for darker purposes. Still, she knew her answer almost immediately, even if it was a hollow answer. "You're right. Cardinal may decide to overtake everything, to go against whatever Kayaba's original intention was...it may even decide that keeping us here is better for...whatever the purpose may be. I can't
  2. Nari was surprised to find the package delivered personally - to her outside of the shop itself. A sign that she knew the meaning behind, although it certainly wasn't what she was hoping for. Shaking off the despair of it all, she knelt down to gently take the package from the small feline, before rubbing it between its ears. Softly, she spoke to the cat, unsure if anyone else would hear. "Take good care of her for me, she's not anywhere near as strong as she portrays. She's going to need you in the days to come, yeah?" Package in hand, Nari left the store behind - hoping that the feline
  3. The hum that escaped Onóra's lips wasn't quite what Nari had expected, and almost indecisive sound. As if she wasn't sure how to respond, or if she should at all. Instead of making Nari question her position, it instead instilled a desire to know. She waited a few seconds, to see if Onóra would add anything further - either a confirmation or a denial of the possibility, before leaping onto the conversation topic in earnest. "Don't tell me you've been taking combat lessons from someone else! I mean, how do you know they're any good! Wouldn't it be better to take them from someone you know.
  4. Familiar. Far too familiar. Memories came flashing back as Nari wandered into a shop that she had spent too much time in previously. Although the memories weren't bad, she could feel a bit of pain at them - like the memories of a lost loved one. Putting aside her feelings, she forced on a smile that she hoped was friendly, before walking up to the counter. She already knew the piece she wanted wasn't in stock, but hoped it was something that could be made. "Hey, Night. I was hoping to order you-I mean make an order. For a bracelet. If possible. Looking for something energy-restoring, and maybe
  5. Nari stepped off the teleporter onto the eighteenth floor, her nose wrinkling in shock at the smell of it all. She'd heard that the floor itself was essentially one large swamp, but she hadn't expected that Cardinal would perfect them smell so well. "Well, credit where credit is due, I guess. Hey, Yuki?" The small fox bound up beside Nari, yipping in response and holding up a paw in an indignant manner. She couldn't help but shake her head in amusement at the reaction of the fox. Not that Nari disagreed, her own boots getting slimed by the general fauna that seemed to cover...well, almos
  6. She was met with a bundle of limbs that equated to a hug, before Nari found herself barraged with a combination of words, sentences and concerns. She listened carefully, her eyes blinking a few times as she tried to take it all in. Names that she recognised, as well as a few that were new to her, passed through the air and into her ears, her mind trying to place them before having to play catch-up with the rest of the conversation. Huh...must be something important...following in footsteps? Leading the charge...? She couldn't quite figure out what the other was getting at, but she waited patie
  7. Jomei pressed his own attack against the Ice General, the rapier flowing into motion almost faster than Nari's eyes could keep track with. For a moment, she considered leaving the general to him - focusing on crushing the remaining captains, and making sure the town was safe. But that thought lasted only for a moment. She couldn't leave him alone, not against such a large opponent. Not when it had such an upper hand at the current time. "The captain's will have to wait for the moment...let's deal with this thing a bit - then we can focus on them. The town...will have to hold tight until w
  8. Nari's energy had recharged ever so slightly. Enough so that she felt herself shake off the worry that had been growing mere moments ago, when the general had first started moving. They were still in a very dangerous place - if they didn't end this quickly, they and the town likely wouldn't survive. But as the general moved forward, Nari felt her confidence returning. Just enough to get her moving, rushing forwards as the two captains and the lone soldier moved to intercept her. It didn't matter, though. Nari's scythe flashed through the air, catching all four in a sweep that went wide an
  9. The fight hadn't gone nearly as well in the beginning as Fae - or Nari, or likely anyone else watching - would've liked. The girl found herself thrown by the boar's charge, slamming into the ground in what Nari assumed was still painful, even with the pain dampener's in place. Her head turn to look at Avoryn as the green-haired woman seemed to become hysterical. For a moment, Nari stood still - recognising the concern, the way the voice almost broke. Everything sounded...familiar. As the images of scenes from before flowed through her mind, Nari couldn't help but freeze in place. "S

  11. Another day...another set of consumables. Nari glanced over the recording studio with a soft smile, taking in the overall mess that she had left last time. She took a few moments to put everything in order, before settling in behind the piano itself and beginning her work for the day.
  12. They'd already managed to push back so many of the forces corralling against the town. Nari couldn't help but be amazed. As Jomei continued cutting down the ones nearby, Nari felt a change in the flow of battle - now there were only a few standing before them, the captains having turned their attention on the town itself. She could almost feel a chance of victory ahead of them. "Hey, you good for a second? I need to recover a bit...burned through my energy faster than I had expected..." She closed her eyes, focusing on the meditation skill she had picked up a while ago. It wouldn't give h
  13. Astreya landed the final blow, leaving the creature little more than an explosion of shards the sprayed into the air, before leaving the group in a air of silence. Turning to smile at the others, Nari shifted her weight onto her other leg. The fight had gone far better than she had expected - the four of them easily overpowering the thing without trouble. "Alright, so we make the best team in Aincrad, no doubt about it! And...sweet! Looks like we even got the extra skill as well!" She tabbed her own notification, closing it out before glancing back the way they had come. It had been a lon
  14. She ducked under one snowball, just to meet another one head one - the cold ball of fluffy frozen bursting and covering her. She blinked in surprise, before smiling wickedly at her new target. Dashing out from behind the tree, she targeted the form of Fae, before launching a single, wound up throw towards the girl. "Well, you know what they say Lessa - if you don't walk the walk, you can't talk the...err...wait that sounds wrong. If you don't talk the walk...no, that's not it either..." She shook her head, trying to remember the phrase while dodging the lobs that came towards her. The wo
  15. The ding of a message caught Nari off guard. There weren't many who would be messaging her this late, and the few that would be were busy with numerous errands - or sleeping. Curiosity perked, Nari opened the message and quickly glanced it over, noting a name that she had not seen in...well, it had been quite some time. A surprise, to be sure, but one that Nari found welcoming. She considered her response carefully, before pulling up her messaging system and crafting the response. To: @Faerie From: @Nari-Lanreth Hey FaeFae! Long time, indeed! Looks li
  16. Nari nodded towards Hirru as the man seemed to take stock of their little ragtag group. She smiled as he mentioned the request for Overhealth item, bringing up her menu and dumping a collection of consumables on the group before her. She was once again amazed at the stock her had created - all of it for this specific purpose, and what came after. "I've got the overhealth, and a few other things that might be of interest. Feel free to take a dig through, and if there's anything you like grab it." Her eyes passed over each of them, smiling as she offered what she could. It passed over a si
  17. So, he hadn't been screaming in pain or distress. Nari felt her cheeks flush ever so slightly in response. She'd come over looking like a fool, assuming that it was far worse than it had been. Instead, she'd found him helping the NPCs who were trying to escape the bloodbath that was occurring just outside their homes. "Yeah...I'll try. You stay safe too - although it looks like you've been doing alright. Maybe I'll leave the bigger boys just to you!" She jested at the ginger, throwing him a smile as she placed herself at his side fully. They'd already cut down a lot of the soldiers, and

  19. Jomei's cry had caught Nari's attention, the words echoing in a way that she couldn't quite understand, but meant one thing to her. He was in trouble. As her scythe lashed out again, catching another nearby soldiers in the chest, Nari made her feet move. Driving herself towards the other man, hoping to get there before anything bad could happen. Images flashed through her mind - images of the ginger bursting into shards, leaving her alone. Images that toyed with her mind in a way that she didn't like. As she broke through the crowd around her, her eyes flashed across the scene. There wa
  20. She could feel the victory before her, barely within reach. She knew that now was the most dangerous time - the time when most individuals would try and leap forward for their victory, only to be caught in a feint or trap that was meant to lure them in. The feeling of security as dangerous as if they simply lowered their weapons and gave up. She wasn't ready to give in to that feeling. Not yet. She knew better, knew that she simply needed to wait - to be the one who lured them into the trap. Knew that this man would fall for it, based on his previous actions. I just need to...there! He m
  21. The bottle landed in her hand, the colouring hard to decipher in the dark - but the item well known in Nari's mind. She raised it to her lips, downing it as quickly as she could, the taste leaving a bitterness on her tongue. Not that she cared, as she watched the health bar climb once more to a comfortable position. It wasn't much, but it was enough to tip the balance in the fight - to place her above her target, if only for the moment. Anything beyond that, and she'd have needed to call upon a miracle. This is far too close for my liking...I need to find an advantage. Something that pu
  22. No matter what she did, Nari knew this fight was far from over. The enemies health bar still stood higher than her own - something that she would only fix if she took a risk. She considered it, for a brief moment, before realising the folly behind it. It was better, for the moment, to press the attack. To try and get the advantage over him in order to end this fight sooner. It was already far too dangerous to do anything more than considerations. As she pressed herself away from him with the haft again, Nari felt something change - the weight on the end suddenly disappearing. Her eyes sh
  23. Pressing the attack worked. Nari slammed the blade into the man again and again and again, his arm blocking the majority of her strikes - but not allowing him the chance to escape her weapon. It was enough to force him back into the wall, where he was little more than prey for the point of her blade once she managed to pierce through his blocks. She was careful, consistent, in control. Each strike determined, focused and calmly placed - each one meant to do little more than wear him down and hold him in place. She watched as the blood continued to leak from his chest wound, depleting his healt
