  1. “I knew we couldn’t trust her…” The words came out as a harsh whisper as Nari followed NIGHT’s gaze, only to find Gianna missing from their position. She’d not even noticed the individual rush off into the night. Turning back to face the camp itself, she cast a questioning glance at NIGHT, unsure of their next move. “As much as I’d love to, there’s no way I’m sneaking past that many goblins. You may be able to disappear from sight, but at best I can not sound like a drum set falling down a twenty story apartment building’s staircase. At best.” She looked back at the camp, gauging how far

  3. The music humming in her ears still, Nari smiled as she glanced about her recording studio. It wasn't anything like the forge that she had begun her professional career within Aincrad inside, but the studio had a warm, welcoming feel to it that the forge had never presented - here she could work hard, but never break a true sweat. There was no slamming of steel upon steel to form shapes of weapons, armour and assorted other battle garments. But here should could present something else - a melody of tunes, lyrics and assorted keys that could make or break a fight, in a supportive way. Sett
  4. “With all due respect, I would prefer not to keep a god waiting. I appreciate that you have brought me this far, but if there is some hesitation – something that keeps you from continuing any further – then I will take my leave, and find my own path to Apollo.” She watched closely as the satyr stopped fumbling, suddenly seeming to lose its uncertain nature. A slight shift, but suddenly it appeared calm, in control once more. “There’s no need for that. If you’ll follow me, we can continue.” Turning, glancing back towards her only to make sure she was following, the satyr continued up the p
  5. Twenty minutes. They’d wandered the same relative area for almost twenty minutes now. The path clearly led upwards towards the actual courts, but the satyr had detoured, only to return to their original point and path. For a while, she’d remained silent – content just to follow along until everything was answered. However, as time continued to crawl on by, and as she was beginning to truly wonder if there was any sense to the delay in her arrival, she felt the need to speak out. “I don’t mean to question your guidance, but is there a reason that we’re not headed directly to the main court
  6. “If Cardinal is glitching, it is definitely bigger than us three.” She spoke the words without turning to the other two, not minding the side conversation in the least – but wanting to make sure they were both aware she was far from deaf. If anything, she had tried hard to ignore them as she considered the possibilities. As they passed into the area known as the Graveyard, Nari let her eyes wander in appreciate of the area – the oversized willow trees blocking out the sun had an almost magical feel to them. Letting her feet guide her, she wandered through the area, almost immediately spot

  8. The echoes of the guitar strum seemed to hum along the walls of the recording studio. Nari grinned at NIGHT, a look of pride upon her face. "Not so hard, is it? Now that you've got a few chords down, sooner than later we'll be able to get you playing an actual song! And then you'll be performing up right next to me, right?" Pulling the crystals for the day out, she laid them out along the top edge of the piano. Testing a few keys to make sure the tune was correct, she fell into her daily routine - or semi-daily routine, at least. She realised as she played that she'd missed a few opportu
  9. “Safe to assume they know we’re here now.” She shifted as the final goblin exploded into shards, letting her spear fall back into her arm and the shield drop from its ready position. Her eyes cast over the area, making sure they were alone – if only for the moment. “Forward scouts. Did any get away?” She’d been too preoccupied with the fight to notice, but felt a small amount of comfort as Gianna shook her head in reply. “Well, that’s good at least. Although I doubt we’ll get the element of surprise on the camp itself…” Her eyes shifted over towards NIGHT, giving the girl a once over
  10. They’d stopped about three quarters of the way up the mountain itself – the satyr providing an excuse that the remainder of the journey should be completed without tiring oneself out. Nari felt, however, that the creature figured the player needed a rest – something that she most certainly did not, regardless of the thing’s opinion on the matter. Waiting restlessly, she glanced again towards the creature, before speaking aloud once more. “Shouldn’t we maybe…continue? Wouldn’t want to keep Apollo waiting for us, isn’t that correct? It would be rude, and all that…” The satyr smiled at
  11. The shout drew her attention for a brief second – long enough to encourage one of the goblinoid creatures to try rushing towards Nari. A slight snarly as she ducked under the hasty swing of her combative opponent, and she was in the clear. She could see the escapee, but knew there was little she could do about it at the moment – she needed to focus on putting down the four before her, before she could even consider the newcomer. “Morríghan mo lann.” A simple prayer, but all that she had time for as she pushed herself forward. Shield up, she ducked under another wide swing, rolled softly t
  12. “It would also be important for you to know how to greet Apollo – he’s very peculiar about the greetings. First, you shouldn’t bow too low – it signifies grovelling, and he hates grovelling. But don’t bow too short – that’s a sign of disrespect, and you don’t want to disrespect a god!” Nari nodded, pretending to be interested, but truly letting her eyes wander and take in the scenery. They’d already gone further up the mountain side than her last visit. “So, make sure to bow low, but not so low that it looks like my face will touch the ground.” She spoke the words after realising the othe
  13. The incline began almost suddenly. She hadn’t even noticed that they’d fully entered the shadow of the mountain until they were climbing up the base of it. Her thoughts – pondering the possible task to come – had distracted her from her surroundings, leaving her surprised when the climb began. A quick glance around tossed away any concerns however, as she remembered that the game would keep her safe for this trek – something Cardinal was good at doing. Without the dangers of any creatures falling upon her, she could find herself lost in thought. ‘But that’s not a good habit to form. Regar
  14. She’d certainly hoped for more, but if she was being honest with herself, she would’ve been surprised if the satyr had laid out her challenge right then and there. That simply wasn’t how Cardinal operated these quests – especially the Challenge of Olympus quests. It seemed to prefer having the players in the dark, struggling to prepare for them. ‘Or perhaps it doesn’t have them fully developed until you actually arrive before the deity of the choice. It wouldn’t be that surprising, either.’ As the mountain drew closer, Nari considered the last time she had arrived to complete the quest. S
  15. The satyr seemed almost puzzled by the question. Glancing back at Nari, it paused in its answer – the mouth of the thing opening and closing a few times before any sounds finally escaped from it. A long, drawn out hum, before it began to provide words that were legible. “Well, it…it depends on Apollo’s mood, I guess. Sometimes it’s creating a masterpiece, or proving skill in the musical talents. Sometimes its deciphering a piece that Apollo himself has created, or maybe creating something for Apollo that he’s never seen before.” The satyr seemed to think for a few steps, the brow furrowin
  16. A slight dip in her head as she showed her agreement with the ideology, before realising that words of confirmation were likely required. “Actually, that’s a really good idea. We’ll likely be focused on the goblin hordes, and this Gaindogrig – which, can we just call it Gain? So much easier…anyways, we’ll likely be focused on them, so if you can find the hatchling that would be perfect.” She sent a look towards NIGHT, her left eyebrow arching slightly in question. She wasn’t sure if the other would understand her silent query, but it didn’t really matter. She hadn’t thought it was arrogan
  17. As the third and final exploding into thousands of shards, slowly drifting towards the ground before disappearing from sight, Nari let herself relax. Pulling up her menu and stowing the weapons and armour – content to return to her more casual clothing – she grinned at the other two, a smile of bliss and enjoyment. “Well, I’d say that went well, all things considered? Did we score anything of value this time around?” She let her eyes wander across the nearby field, searching for the materials that she had come to find originally – almost hoping that something of value would make an appear
  18. She bounced from toe to toe as NIGHT confirmed their participation in – what Nari was dubbing – the mission to save the village from the big evil bad dragon. Her smile lit across her face as she turned from NIGHT, to Gianna, to Ormi, back to NIGHT. “NIGHT. NIGHT. NIGHT! We get to save a village from a dragon! A dragon! Like real adventurers. We’re like knights on quests. Oh my gods. It’s like the story of Artorius! We’re like the Knights of Artorius!” Her excitement was coming out in squeals as she hopped from foot to foot, her hands up in front of her face trying to contain herself.

  20. A small chime as she entered the recording studio. Pulling up the notification, her eyes glanced over it briefly before she closed it with a smile. Turning to her work, she laid out the crystals she'd be using for the day before opening up the piano. Her fingers hesitated over the keys as she took in the sunlight filtering through the large windows, taking a respite to enjoy the silence before falling into her songs for the day.
  21. When the two had caught up, Nari gave a small nod towards them, before answering the questions each had posed. She knew the risks, she knew the way that it had all seemed. How it appeared foolish. “I don’t know that I trust them. I don’t even know them, not truly. But they’ve never provided false or dangerous information. In fact…I would say what they have provided has been invaluable previously.” A few further steps, before she turned to the others – her forward movement shifted to a backward as she continued to walk while facing the pair. Her smile had been wiped from her face as she su
  22. “He is graceful, elegance, and beauty all combined into one. And you should remember that, seeing as you’ll be presented before him and judged accordingly.” The Satyr gave Nari a glance, its eyes running up and down her before turning away with what she assumed was a scornful look. Her own eyes glanced down at her physique, taking in the fox vest, turtleneck and leggings she normally wore throughout her days now. She had to admit, even to herself, that the appearance was less than elegant when considering she was headed to a court of the gods. Bringing up her menu as she walked, she pulle
