She nodded, more to herself than to the others, as Koga spoke about Cardinal’s self-correcting nature. It was true, the program would correct any errors it was able to find – eliminating any signs of decay or otherwise rampant coding before it could truly become problematic. Assuming it could locate the code to begin with. She hadn’t quite ruled out the possibility, and was about to open her mouth to counter Koga’s argument, when another voice spoke from beside Koga – one that she didn’t recognise, only to be followed by a helmed face that was even less recognisable. Her bodily shift -
Nari felt herself staring, likely a confused look on her face. She wasn’t quite sure what to make of the challenge, and she felt herself hesitating in that uncertainty. “I’m sure the god of music, of entertainment and of such…cultured…status as of yourself, would find the performances of a mortal merely…disappointing. Mundane, even.” She picked her words carefully as she danced around the fact that she still wasn’t sure what was expected of her. Her eyes studied the features of the NPC, wondering what Cardinal could possibly expect to come of this. “Mundane, imperfect. These are all

Spear and shield relaxing slightly, she grinned at her companion as the gesture was presented. “Well, that was quick. I didn’t expect you to end it that quickly. But I won’t complain! It’s always fun to see you dance the dance of death.” A quick glance towards Gianna, and the dragonling that she had returned with was enough to sour the happiness she had felt just seconds ago. Her glare cutting across the air, she marched across to Gianna as she tossed a hand to the side in an aggressive manner. “Care to explain where it is that you disappeared off to? And why you have a dragonling in tow

Her eyes shifted from her own dress, to the formal wear of the individual in the room with her. His blonde hair stood tasselled, blue eyes gazing lazily from beneath – somehow sitting almost perfectly in combination with the tuxedo like wear that the deity had adorned. She had to admit, the NPC appeared rather dashing – even if only in a way that she could appreciate at face value. “You’re likely wondering – what occasion?” Her gaze fell upon the smirk, noticing that it elicited no harsh feelings from herself, seemingly nothing more than an addition to the appearance – much like the cloth

The large gates rose skyward before her, and Nari couldn’t help but think it looked an awfully lot like imagery found in a lot of older Disney cartoons. The Golden gates breaching the sky, surrounded by glowing light that felt almost…over the top. At least, to Nari it felt that way. The satyr barely paused before heading to the left side of the gates, moving towards a small doorway that Nari never would’ve seen, hidden behind a small outcropping of rock. Following along behind her guide, she found herself led into a large hallway – somehow feeling enclosed and cramped compared to the gran

The sounds of strumming guitar strings dragged her towards the recording studio, somewhat still offkey - yet improving nonetheless each day. She paused just outside the door, listening as the instrument was tested and tried, the success varying slightly with each attempt. Smiling to herself, she hummed along softly, closing her eyes as she placed the song in her memory. As the air fell silent again, Nari decided her time outside the studio itself was over, and pushed through the door with a smile on her face. "Improving every day, from the sounds of it!" She grinned at NIGHT as she made h -
The larger goblin disappeared beneath the single strike of NIGHT’s blade, seemingly swallowed up by a glint of darkness before exploding into shards. Nari felt her spear and shield drop slightly, before the shadow descended upon them. Glancing up towards the sky, she could see the cause of the sudden darkness – the large, dragon form hovering above them, slowly gliding towards their position. Nari listened as it spoke, likely meant to sound threatening – but in her calm state she couldn’t resist the words that slipped from her throat. “NIGHT, whatever you did to the poor goblin can y

“Hey, wait-“ The words hissed from her mouth as NIGHT stood and drew her sword, clearly preparing to head off alone. She reached out her right hand in an attempt to grab the girl, before realising that she had stopped moving – her eyes drawn to the commotion in the middle of the camp. “What in the nine-“ Nari watched as the winged finger seemed to bound through the goblin camp, the distant call of a familiar voice leading it onwards. She barely noticed Gianna’s form gliding through the ranks of the goblins, dodging attacks that were meant to bring her down – before making her way across t

“I knew we couldn’t trust her…” The words came out as a harsh whisper as Nari followed NIGHT’s gaze, only to find Gianna missing from their position. She’d not even noticed the individual rush off into the night. Turning back to face the camp itself, she cast a questioning glance at NIGHT, unsure of their next move. “As much as I’d love to, there’s no way I’m sneaking past that many goblins. You may be able to disappear from sight, but at best I can not sound like a drum set falling down a twenty story apartment building’s staircase. At best.” She looked back at the camp, gauging how far

The music humming in her ears still, Nari smiled as she glanced about her recording studio. It wasn't anything like the forge that she had begun her professional career within Aincrad inside, but the studio had a warm, welcoming feel to it that the forge had never presented - here she could work hard, but never break a true sweat. There was no slamming of steel upon steel to form shapes of weapons, armour and assorted other battle garments. But here should could present something else - a melody of tunes, lyrics and assorted keys that could make or break a fight, in a supportive way. Sett -
“With all due respect, I would prefer not to keep a god waiting. I appreciate that you have brought me this far, but if there is some hesitation – something that keeps you from continuing any further – then I will take my leave, and find my own path to Apollo.” She watched closely as the satyr stopped fumbling, suddenly seeming to lose its uncertain nature. A slight shift, but suddenly it appeared calm, in control once more. “There’s no need for that. If you’ll follow me, we can continue.” Turning, glancing back towards her only to make sure she was following, the satyr continued up the p

Twenty minutes. They’d wandered the same relative area for almost twenty minutes now. The path clearly led upwards towards the actual courts, but the satyr had detoured, only to return to their original point and path. For a while, she’d remained silent – content just to follow along until everything was answered. However, as time continued to crawl on by, and as she was beginning to truly wonder if there was any sense to the delay in her arrival, she felt the need to speak out. “I don’t mean to question your guidance, but is there a reason that we’re not headed directly to the main court

“If Cardinal is glitching, it is definitely bigger than us three.” She spoke the words without turning to the other two, not minding the side conversation in the least – but wanting to make sure they were both aware she was far from deaf. If anything, she had tried hard to ignore them as she considered the possibilities. As they passed into the area known as the Graveyard, Nari let her eyes wander in appreciate of the area – the oversized willow trees blocking out the sun had an almost magical feel to them. Letting her feet guide her, she wandered through the area, almost immediately spot -

The echoes of the guitar strum seemed to hum along the walls of the recording studio. Nari grinned at NIGHT, a look of pride upon her face. "Not so hard, is it? Now that you've got a few chords down, sooner than later we'll be able to get you playing an actual song! And then you'll be performing up right next to me, right?" Pulling the crystals for the day out, she laid them out along the top edge of the piano. Testing a few keys to make sure the tune was correct, she fell into her daily routine - or semi-daily routine, at least. She realised as she played that she'd missed a few opportu -
“Safe to assume they know we’re here now.” She shifted as the final goblin exploded into shards, letting her spear fall back into her arm and the shield drop from its ready position. Her eyes cast over the area, making sure they were alone – if only for the moment. “Forward scouts. Did any get away?” She’d been too preoccupied with the fight to notice, but felt a small amount of comfort as Gianna shook her head in reply. “Well, that’s good at least. Although I doubt we’ll get the element of surprise on the camp itself…” Her eyes shifted over towards NIGHT, giving the girl a once over

They’d stopped about three quarters of the way up the mountain itself – the satyr providing an excuse that the remainder of the journey should be completed without tiring oneself out. Nari felt, however, that the creature figured the player needed a rest – something that she most certainly did not, regardless of the thing’s opinion on the matter. Waiting restlessly, she glanced again towards the creature, before speaking aloud once more. “Shouldn’t we maybe…continue? Wouldn’t want to keep Apollo waiting for us, isn’t that correct? It would be rude, and all that…” The satyr smiled at

The shout drew her attention for a brief second – long enough to encourage one of the goblinoid creatures to try rushing towards Nari. A slight snarly as she ducked under the hasty swing of her combative opponent, and she was in the clear. She could see the escapee, but knew there was little she could do about it at the moment – she needed to focus on putting down the four before her, before she could even consider the newcomer. “Morríghan mo lann.” A simple prayer, but all that she had time for as she pushed herself forward. Shield up, she ducked under another wide swing, rolled softly t

“It would also be important for you to know how to greet Apollo – he’s very peculiar about the greetings. First, you shouldn’t bow too low – it signifies grovelling, and he hates grovelling. But don’t bow too short – that’s a sign of disrespect, and you don’t want to disrespect a god!” Nari nodded, pretending to be interested, but truly letting her eyes wander and take in the scenery. They’d already gone further up the mountain side than her last visit. “So, make sure to bow low, but not so low that it looks like my face will touch the ground.” She spoke the words after realising the othe

The incline began almost suddenly. She hadn’t even noticed that they’d fully entered the shadow of the mountain until they were climbing up the base of it. Her thoughts – pondering the possible task to come – had distracted her from her surroundings, leaving her surprised when the climb began. A quick glance around tossed away any concerns however, as she remembered that the game would keep her safe for this trek – something Cardinal was good at doing. Without the dangers of any creatures falling upon her, she could find herself lost in thought. ‘But that’s not a good habit to form. Regar
