  1. A light flush covered her features as Jomei returned the greeting, bowing slightly in a way that made Nari feel both uncomfortable, and somehow more inclined towards the ginger. She gave a return smile, before returning her gaze to the creatures in the distance. “Dea-labhartha, ansin.” Forcing herself back to the common language between the three of them, she gave a smile towards Koga before making her way across the field – casting an eye back to watch the man hurriedly stow his fishing gear and attempt to give chase. “Right, let’s see how easily we can clear this field then. 3. The evening sunshine shone through the large windows as Nari led NIGHT into the recording studio. The day had been eventful, if nothing else. But as they were winding down, Nari had felt the itch to return to the studio one more time - if for no other reason than to enjoy the looks her companion gave her as she worked. She'd never considered her singing to be...spectacular, by any means - yet NIGHT seemed to enjoy listening. Or, at least pretended to enjoy listening. Either way, Nari was more than content to provide the evening entertainment as it was. Taking a few moments to set the cry
  4. The howl from Cerberus sent a shiver down Nari’s spine – so much louder than her own calls, and yet somehow not at all terrifying to her. Instead, she felt…encouraged, driven to end this beast once and for all. The lack of her shield forgotten, she gave a responding howl, before kicking off the ground and racing the small distance between herself and the giant beast. The hounds appeared in her vision, attempting to cut off her sudden launch towards their master – if that was the role it played in comparison to these newcomers. Nari let her feet guide her, her body shifting in movement as
  5. “I think this is the first time I've ever been told I'm better suited for dealing damage…” She forced herself to leave the joke aside, realising this wasn't the time no place for it. Stopping herself from turning towards NIGHT, she instead brought her attention back to the giant beast, knowing they were on the verge of having finished it off. A few different steps to avoid half crazed attacks from the three heads as Nari watched for the opening she knew she would need to land. She knew they were getting closer to the finish off this would quest, and although it was proving easier in a se
  6. The hand on her shoulder pulled her attention for a moment, somehow both comforting and distracting. The words – which tooka moment to register – spoke of concern. Nodding in answer, she turned her gaze back to the beast before them. “We’re almost there, I think. Let’s just bring these down a bit. I'll focus on the third head, you go for the second, okay? Just…don’t outright destroy it. Yet. If nothing happens after its next reaction, then we end this thing and move on.” She spoke quickly, levelling out her spear as she spoke. Her right arm naturally fell into a guard pose, before realis
  7. She had definitely drawn the attention of the large humanoid three headed dog towards herself. Staring up at the three heads, she smiled to herself, pleased with how well she had been doing this round. The howl skill had definitely made a difference on the situation, making her much more effective at drawing the attention to herself – something she felt relatively pleased with. “Looks like we’re doing this! I’ll hit the third head, and hopefully soon it’ll begin to…” Her words dropped off as she ducked underneath another failed strike from the creature. Eyeing up the thing, she knew that

  9. Already humming a tune that had been stuck in her head the entire morning, Nari wandered into the recording studio with a smile on her face. Although her success had been...limited, she had come to enjoy her time within the studio. It reminded her of the time she had spent back in high school, and the year after. She found her companion seated at the piano, gently struggling with a few of the keys. Smiling to herself, she crossed to the piano, catching the sudden jerk movement as NIGHT realised she wasn't alone. “I could teach you, if you wanted...” She tossed a beaming smile towards NIGH
  10. The two creatures had begun to lift their heads as Nari sailed through the air, her spin bringing her to land just before them, the spear lashing out and slicing through the chests of both before they could even raise their arms in defence. Frozen in place by the stun and paralysis effects, Nari was given the chance to jump back, putting some space between herself and the two creatures. Levelling her spear along the top edge of her shield, she waiting for the twitches that would signify the two were overcoming their ailments. She’d learnt long ago not to rush in, but instead give herself
  11. The pathway beyond the settlement wound its way through the underground tunnels of the mountain that Nimbus was hidden within, eventually bringing Nari beyond and back into the open air. Sighing a breath of relief to be outside once more, she continued along the winding path, heading down towards an open valley area that the mayor had described. She could see the destination in the distance – likely an hours’ walk from where she was currently, if she kept pace. Knowing that she could take her time, she decided to distract herself with a bit of mobbing, focusing on the few creatures she fo
  12. “That’s why we’ve found ourselves here, in Nimbus. We were…well, I was hoping we could get some help from the local militia, but it seems they’re unable to assist at this time.” Nari almost sighed as she knew what was coming next. Typical, so typical. “Perhaps you could assist us? I could compensate you, a bit. It won’t be a ton, but it’ll be appropriate for the work that needs to be done!” Almost in time with his final syllable, the quest notification popped up, asking her if she wanted to accept the request. Barely even glancing at it, she hit the accept button. The mayor beamed a smil
  13. Closing the distance between herself and the NPC group, she spent a moment listening to the voices that sprung from within. Chatter focused on words tilted towards a hint of running, speaking of refugees. Although she didn’t catch any sort of verbiage that linked it directly with the village she was supposed to assist, Nari had a good feeling that this was likely the group she was looking for to activate the quest. Eyes cast over the group, she found a well dressed individual who seemed to carry an air of authority. Pushing her way through the small throng, she approached the individual,
  14. Her saunter to the teleporter pad had been calm, the blowing winds had died down a few minutes into the walk, and she’d found that she was able to enjoy the crystalline air. Snow crunching under her boots as she made her way across the small settlement, she’d relished the feel of the crisp air on her lungs, somehow invigorating in a way. A quick bound up the steps and she’d hopped onto the pad itself, activating it with a single spoken command before disappearing in the shimmering light. A few seconds later she had reappeared, returning to existence on the pad found within Nimbus. The sud
  15. Content with the attention being entirely focused on her, Nari considered her options. She knew that her own attacks would be relatively useless in their current situation, that NIGHT could handle the offensive side on her own. Instead, Nari fell back onto the ideology of what her role was meant to do; to pull the attention to herself and focus on taking the hits. Pulling her shield in front of her, she set her right leg forward, dropping her weight slightly and locking the knee into the back of the shield for further strength against the strikes she knew were coming her way. A shift in h
  16. Nari watched as NIGHT – almost belatedly – rushed forward and swung at one of the heads, causing the health bar of it to drop significantly. She could feel the heat rushing off the body of the creature, slowly causing her health bar to dip and regenerate. Casting aside concerns about the effect it was having on her – it truly wasn’t doing as much harm as she would’ve expected, from an environmental attack – she instead focused on doing what she did best; tanking her way through a fight. Drawing her shield up in front of her, she began her call again, activating the enhanced skills that wo
  17. Spinning back the way they were headed, Nari let the melody fall for a moment as she took her bearings. She knew that the final room lay somewhere nearby, but she couldn’t quite remember exactly how far. Deciding there was nothing to it beyond simply following the path, she continued her singing – an activity that she was finding far more enjoyable here, than she had in the real world. Especially with the singular audience. “From the shores through the ancient mist, You bear the mark of my elven kiss. Clear the way, I will take you home, To eternal bliss.” Another pause as she glanced aro
  18. With NIGHT having finished the three in her consecutive strikes, there was nothing more for Nari to do but sit and watch. She let her spear roll back into the crook of her elbow as she lowered her shield. The heat of the tunnel suddenly returning, she gave a slight cough as the other questioned her speed, making Nari cock her head. Bringing up the message she had received, she scanned over it quickly. As usual, it was from the redacted source – something Nari had been meaning to ask around about, eventually. “Looks like my sources say it needs to have all three alive, but lowered…somethin
  19. Her first strike had been about as effective as most…which was to say, not very at all. She barely registered as NIGHT shifted around and over her, slashing across the three hounds in an arc before falling back – managing to avoid most of the counter attacks that the hounds attempted. Still, a single landed upon her, and Nari felt a sudden shift in herself, moving in response towards the hounds. Bringing her spear up, she let her shield falter slightly as she began her slid towards the right side. A sudden shift in her weight drawing the eyes of the wolves. Letting her left foot spin arou
  20. The message caught her by surprise, pulling her attention away from the piano she had been attempting to tune. The thing had come with the transition of her profession, but she had felt that the sound of it was off since it had appeared in her recording studio. To: Nari-Lanreth From: [redacted] Message: New intel. Town of Rig under assault by large creature. Supposed two-headed snake. Figured you’d love. Best of luck, and stay alive. Will forward anything else we find later. The messages were also short, concise, and to the point. Closing it, she wondered again who exactly within

  22. The morning sunshine spilled through the windows of the recording studio, drapping the entire area in a luminescent glow blue hues. Taking a deep breath and casting her gaze across the area, she hovered for a moment - enjoying the silent bliss that seemed to hover over the auditorium. The stillness in the air, unbroken save for her own presence, was almost peaceful and welcoming to Nari. For a time, she did nothing but savour it. Realising the day was slowly passing her by, Nari set the crystals to be used in today's sessions before her, quickly preparing herself before activating the fir
  23. She watched as NIGHT shifted her gear around, taking in the white cleats, the blade behind her back. She cocked her head, eyeing up the new outfit. Or, part of a new outfit, rather. She wasn’t quite sure it could be deemed as an entire outfit change, but a change nonetheless. Smiling at the offered hand, Nari clasped onto the forefingers, giving a slight tug into the tunnel that led towards the lair that Cerberus was usually hidden away in. She hummed a tune that she had listened to many years ago, one that had stuck with her. As she walked, she felt the song slip between her lips – a cle
  24. She was still considering her response when the two made their way onto the teleporter pad, her normally witty retorts held back by the sudden forwardness of NIGHT. She wasn’t quite sure what to make of it, other than the fact the she was clearly settling in well. Cocking her head as she glanced at the girl, she called out to activate the teleporter. “Floor Nine, Yōgan Village.” A slight shimmer – Nari shutting her eyes tight against the bright light – and then they were stepping off onto the overwhelming heat. At her side, Yuki gave a hiss of distaste – both at the heat, and at having to
