She felt her self flush lightly at the reminder of the first floor, and meeting NIGHT and Koga for the first time. Things had been, well, less than perfect or ideal. In fact, Nari had felt the entire incident had been nothing short of an entire disaster, something that she wished to both put behind her, and remember forever. She had been nothing short of a bumbling fool. “It was…both the absolute worst thing ever, that became the greatest thing I could ever hope for.” She mumbled the words, her face still flushed in colour as she answered the question. She felt it wasn’t enough, that it l

Beckoning Jomei over, Nari smiled at the ginger-haired man. Motioning towards the dirt, she began pulling aside the leaves, gently digging in towards the roots of the plant. “There’s a method to it, a motion and mindset. I don’t know if you’ve picked up the foraging skill yet at all – but gathering works similar to it. Part of it is just…relaxing, understanding that the find won’t be immediate, that it takes time.” Her voice fell silent as she continued working at the dirt, her eyes seemingly distant as she sunk into her work. It had been some time since she’d simply…sat and worked at th -
She was caught off guard by the question, and for a moment she simply stared at NIGHT. When she did eventually speak, her tone was one of hesitation, of reservation. “I…well, it’s not an official title. But…well, the forge, the estate…it just kind of made sense to also take the moniker for myself. Plus…” She waved a hand at Yuki, as if making a silent statement. She wasn’t sure what else to say in regards to it. There was nothing in her menus that would provide her with the title, nothing that would show that she had earned it in any way. Having spoken it aloud, she wondered just how sill

The wolf slammed into her, its jaw reaching over the shield and tearing towards her neck, managing to leave traces of marks across her face – traces that Nari knew would disappear in a matter of minutes as she healed. In return, she slammed her spear into its side, causing the creature’s health bar to dip significantly in response as the thorns hidden away within the weapon lashed outwards, tearing through the creature in hundreds of places. Pushing the wolf off her shield, she forced her attention to the other for a moment, confirming that it had decided to back off and keep some distanc -

The wolves passed, and Nari lowered the shield – her health bar once again dipping only slightly, before returning to its full state. She’d felt herself return the strike, if only barely – but as she glanced over she realised that the health bar of the first wolf was the only one showing any signs of damage overall. She felt herself spin in place, slowly mimicking the movement of the two as they tried to pace around behind her – likely hoping to find an opening in her armour. One that she wasn’t willing to provide them. Deciding there wasn’t any point in waiting for them to come to her, s -

Growling as the health bar dipped slightly, before returning to its full position. She hadn’t expected such a weak start to the fight, but she glancing between the two wolves she knew that she was still well within a safe position – so long as she could land a few strong hits, and deflect anything that came her way. “Alright, seeing as you want to play…fine, we’ll play.” Letting her left foot slide backwards, she brought her shield up, eyeing the two wolves as they began to circle around her, both trying to find an opening in her defences. Content to wait for the wolves to launch themselv -

Cautiously, Nari slid forwards, placing a single hand upon the hilt of the blade as the leopard stepped aside so that Nari could assist. Gently, she placed her right hand upon the girl’s shoulder, steadying herself as she readied for what came next. “This won’t hurt, but you may feel some pressure.” As soon as her words finished she pulled the blade from the girl’s body, before letting it fall to the ground. Letting her arms catch the girl as she shifted, Nari pulled her in close, wrapping herself around the girl in what she hoped was a warm, comforting embrace. For a time, she just sat s -
“Mmmhmmm, that sounds like an excuse to hide the fact that I spotted something before you did.” Her eyes had wandered across the shopfront’s exterior window, confirming that the place was indeed a destination that would fulfill some of their desires. She took her time, letting her gaze cross the few displays within the window, not really taking any of it in as she considered NIGHT’s words. “Maybe…maybe I will move. I mean it’s not like it’s super hard, right? And if it makes Yuki more comfortable…well, I think that might be worth it. Right?” She reached up and nuzzled the fox’s muzzle, el

Nari let her spear slide into her shoulder, eyeing the blonde girl with a grin that bespoke of humour. She shook her head at the other’s apology, the entire encounter having been well worth taking some time to participate in. “No, no need to apologise. If anything…I’m sorry I wasn’t more useful. This was a lot of fun though, and from the looks of it…Sewallus is willing to teach you Shatter now.” A shift of her head towards the NPC before she continued speaking. “It’s a good skill, even if you don’t focus on tech based attacks. If nothing else, it can make more defensible opponents a bit e

As she came closer, she noticed the blade piercing the other, the weapon clearly impaling the girl and keeping her from moving. Nari hesitated – unsure of whether there was danger to be found here, or if there was something more than met the eyes. Breaths passed as Nari considered her position, and as the girl remained motionless, a single plea came out. Nari Knelt down, careful to keep an eye on the leopard, laying her spear on the ground just within reach should she need it. “I can see that…but…can I help you get that blade out?” She reached a hand forward, keeping her eyes on the -
“Doesn’t go on…NIGHT, I think I love you, but are you telling me that you don’t use maple syrup on crepes???” Her tone was filled with skepticism, and she gave the girl a side eye as she continued talking. “Please tell me you at least use a berry sauce, or something? You’re not just eating them…dry?” She accented the last word, putting emphasis on it in order to denote the oddness she would’ve expect from such actions. But all the while she was holding back a grin, trying to force her face to remain straight and serious. Something she was sure the twitches in her cheeks were giving away.

Nari gave a call as she heard the gong of the shop door opening. Placing aside her tools, she moved to the front of the shop, smiling as she entered. “A sword! Sure, let’s take a look at your order form…” She glanced over the form itself, nodding to herself as her eyes dashed across the request. It wasn’t too complex of a piece, but she could see the beauty in its simplicity. Smiling at the customer, she gave a quick nod. “Shouldn’t be too difficult at all! I’ll send you a message once it’s ready for pickup, that alright?” -

Her most recent find was more than she had expected to find, and although she was content – for the moment, she decided that she wanted to get some exercise while she was here. Standing, she pulled up her inventory again, switching the music box for her shield once more, before glancing across the open space. A pack of wolves moved in the distance, splitting off as two came closer to her, noses in the air. She watched their approach, gauging their strength, before making her way forwards. Bringing her shield and spear up, she watched as the duo bristled, reacting to her closure with them. -

The touch of the lips caught Nari by surprise, and she almost reeled backwards before she realised who was before her. Her eyes wide, head tilted upwards slightly, a small squeak escaped. As soon as there was space enough to mutter, she let her surprise spill out in words. “It’s good to see you – what’s this?” A quick glance over the spear and another squeal. She threw her arms around NIGHT, hugging her tight, and letting her lips glide. “Thank you so much! I absolutely love it, and you!” Another quick glance at the spear, before she delicately took it out of NIGHT’s hands, admiring -

The music a soft tone in her ears, she calmly pulled through the bushes, humming along with the tune. Her mind had already begun to wonder, turning to thoughts of recent encounters – with NIGHT, with Ruler, with a number of other faces that she had come to know in her time throughout Aincrad. She had changed, slowly and with time, as if morphing and growing. At first, she hadn’t really noticed it – but now as she sat and worked, her mind considered just how…social, she had become. She had been spending time with Onóra, a lot of it. And now she was spending every possible minute with NIGHT -

“Ah! We’re here!” Nemo suddenly called out, and Nari found herself looking for the typical pairing of stones that would lead towards the garden. Instead, she found herself looking at what appeared to be a rock wall, a small entryway leading deeper inwards. Hesitating on the edge of it, she watched as Nemo made his way inside, glancing back once to make sure that she was following. Taking a deep breath, she forced her feet to move, pulling her shield and spear closer to herself as she went. Passing through, she came out to the wonderous view of the garden itself – open fields dotted w -

“Well, I’m glad to hear that there’s no hard feelings then.” She beamed a smile at the man, but only received a confused, albeit happy, smile in return. She wasn’t entirely sure what she had expected from him. Shrugging mentally, she turned her attention back to the task of foraging, deciding that she could at least spend the day gathering as much as she possibly could – whatever that accounted for, anyways. “I think you’ll like the garden today! It’s changed so much since you first arrived, and I’ve included some new treasures I’ve found! It’s really spectacular, and I look forward to he -

Her habit of searching and talking was still strongly engrained in her, as she followed Nemo across open fields towards what she assumed would be the edge of the floor. The man seemed to be in a chipper mood, passing pleasantries along between them – and not caring in the slightest that Nari seemed to be only half listening. “You know, Nemo, I don’t think I ever did apologise…” The words were some that she had wanted to say for quite some time, but she had never truly gotten around to actually saying to the NPC. Somehow it felt both awkward, and relieving, in a way. “For the first time we -

It had been some time since Nari had been on the second floor – and yet nothing seemed to have truly changed. She had spent a good hour moving through the main settlement, before striking out into the wilds towards Taran. Along the way she had spent her time foraging – specifically looking for anything of value along the edges of the walkways and roads. Taran itself had been…underwhelming, seemed the most appropriate term. The village was barely deserving of the word, and although a few players moved throughout the streets – most of the populace here seemed to be NPCs. Not that Nari minde -
Nari finished packing up the shop, deciding that she was taking some time for herself today. There was no real rush in orders, no need to focus on crafting anything important. So instead, she decided that she would do what she could to focus on her own needs – and that meant another trip to Nemo’s lovely little garden. For a while, she had considered asking someone to join her, but the thought of bugging anyone else right now had left her with a feeling of discontent. As much as she would have loved to drag NIGHT along, she felt that she had bothered the girl enough over the past little w
