Her eyes seemed to glaze over slightly in thought as Morningstar gave his answer. It wasn’t what Nari had been expecting, and she had to admit that the honesty behind it was unquestionable. He was on a search for vengeance, then. “I’m in.” She rose from her chair, her attention returning to the world as she made her way towards the front of the bar, stopping at the door to wait for the other two. She knew that he would truly go alone if she did back out, that much was clear in his expression and words. She wouldn’t allow that, not so long as she was still around to provide protection.

She stepped out of the shop, her list completely procured. She had thought that her time being sent on errands would come to an end now, considering the recent developments – but it would appear that her roommate cared little about that, continuing to request assistance with her shopping needs. ‘I can’t really complain that much, considering…’ Lost in her thoughts, she bumped into the other without noticing their presence at first – Nari’s shoulder bouncing off the blonde and causing her to stumble and spin slightly as she caught herself. She gasped in surprise, before the onslaught of ap

She gave the girl a smile, pleased that the newcomer had taken to the spear. She had made it some time ago, but was happy to see that someone was willing to wield it – it wasn’t her most prideful piece, but sturdy and capable nonetheless. And gathering dust in a display was not something she wished to see for any weapon, let alone one she had made herself. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Reyna. I’m Nari-Lanreth – Nari, for short. If you ever need any more weapons, or armour, feel free to drop by!” She smiled again at the girl, before adding to her typical phrase. “Or if you ever need someon -

Nari considered the other woman’s words as she followed along behind on the path to the keep. It was fair to argue that the tank should lead, that they needed to call upon the others in a group in order to persuade advance, but Nari disagreed with the idea that they were the blade. Walking up beside Yuki, she spoke her piece. “You’re right, about the need for a tank to lead. To be at the forefront. But I do not agree that we are meant to be the blade, for the blade is the one who deals the death blow – the one that strikes out and finishes the fight. That is not the role of the tank, inst -
Her first strike had been more than successful, and she felt herself flush a little at the thought that NIGHT’s theory had been proven right, almost immediately. She gave a look at the woman, before setting herself back up to strike. She knew there wasn’t much point in doing anything offensive, but she also knew that she needed to pull her weight in the fight – not just stand by and let the other handle everything. Determined to do something of use, she set her shield and spear, considering her options. She knew she wouldn’t be able to stun them again – her first strike had been too effec

“NIGHT…I’ve taken consumables before. But yours tastes good.” She gave the girl a nudge with her head before pulling herself up. Stretching slightly, she’ll offer a hand towards NIGHT, as if offering to pull the girl to her feet. “Sure, should we…maybe find something a little bit easier though?” Looking around the beach, she’ll spot a couple of creatures at the edge of the water, nodding at them to get NIGHT’s attention. Once she was sure the girl had noticed, she’ll make her way across the beach towards the trio, pulling her shield up as she went. ‘Let’s do this, then.’ She glanced

Nari closed her eyes as she felt the hands running through her hair, the sensation bringing shivers to her. The smile, barely visible, bespoke of the comfort the touch had brought on. The comfort was so overpowering, that she at first didn’t realise that NIGHT was actually answering her question. “Skyscrapers…mmm…I’m happy where I come from…it’s the perfect balance. A smaller city, but an escape to nature…” Her eyes flashed open as the hands left her hair, leaving her somewhat disappointed. The euphoria still had a hold of her, and without thinking she continued her thoughts aloud. “You s

Pulling her spear back into her should, she gave a smile towards NIGHT. “See? Improvements.” Her smile only broadened as she looked back out over the beach. In the distance she could see more of the crab creatures roaming about, and what looked like a few…were those humanoids? She peered for a few moments, but the distance was too great to determine if they were players or not. Shrugging outwardly to herself, she turned her attention back to NIGHT. “Should we…relax a bit? I didn’t bring any swimwear, but laying on the beach for a while can be nice and relaxing too.” Without hes

“NIGHT!” Nari called out as she saw the girl take a swipe. With two of the creature’s destroyed, and one now immune to the affects of her stunning capabilities, she turned her focus to the creature that had evaded her attacks. NIGHT had managed to take a good portion of its health down, but Nari wasn’t going to take chances with it. She knew that so long as they were still standing, they could be dangerous – and she didn’t like the idea of danger being present towards NIGHT. Growling slightly, she stepped in between the crab and NIGHT, trying to use her physical presence as a deterrent as

‘Did…she just offer to feed me? I’m keeping this one.’ Her response was hindered by the crabs attacking her, the claws slamming into her and causing her health bar to drop a slight amount – not enough to worry her in truth, but enough that she paused for a moment to consider what she had just gotten herself into. “Uhm…NIGHT! I think I…made a mistake!” She called out in between her dance, dodging a few more failed strikes her way. She slid off to the right side, angling up against the crabs again, deciding that she’d try her luck with another multi-strike attack. She wasn’t expecting the

“Together.” Nari liked the sound of that. She smiled in kind, returning the glance towards the other as she suddenly clued into the fact that they had come here with the intent of grinding out gear. She blinked once, realising she didn’t even have her spear out yet. “Oops…” Pulling up her menu, she drew forth her weapon, grabbing it as it materialised in her hand. She gave a quick scour of the area, spotting a collection of crab-like creatures in the vicinity, wandering around carelessly. Not ready to be outdone – at least, not yet – she crossed the beach towards them, bringing her spear

“Well, I don’t have a ton of spears in stock right now – but I do have this one.” Her hand will wave over one of the few weapons on display behind the counter. One of which was a spear that carried an ice blue tip, hoisted on a red-steel shaft. “It’s one of my earlier designs, but it’s sturdy and reliable. If you’re interested, I could give it to you for 50 col, or I can create something more specific for you.” She gave the customer a smile, folding her hands in front of her as she waited for a response. @Reyna -
[F27 – PP] A Whisper in the Night

‘Well, that didn’t go well.’ The only thought to pass through her head as she took up position beside Astreya, eyeing the final individual still standing. Her first attempt at a strike had been, disappointing. She was determined not to be left behind in this fight though, and as she glanced between Astreya and the lone survivor, she decided that she would do her part. Relying on the reach of the spear, she locked her shield against her body. A deep breath in, then out and she took her chance – letting the spear fling forward in the hopes of making contact with the assassin. It was a weake -

“I’m glad I’m stuck in here with people like you, though.” She had meant to whisper the words, but in the quiet garden they came out louder than she had expected, and although she was sure that Astreya had heard the words, she continued on, eventually mentioning the need for more bathrooms, and that Astreya herself was sleeping on a cot. “If you need a place to stay, I have room to make another bedroom or two…you could come stay there for a while, until you have your own place?” She pawed at the dirt even as she made her offer, her eyes roaming the field, making sure no creatures had wand -

“It should be…” Her whisper cut off as a sudden swirling of sand appeared before her, followed quickly by the ground exploding upwards, the creature leaping out. Nari watched with calm eyes as the creature spun on the ground, the health bars jumping to life above it as Terra Firma made its entrance. “…here. Okay, let’s do this.” Without turning to the others, she let her spear lower, calling out over her shoulder. “Alright. Let’s finish this thing as quickly as we can – but be careful, make sure not to draw too much of its attention, that’s for Astreya and I. If you find it focusing on yo -
“Are…you saying you don’t want to show me off?” Nari said with a toss of her hair, the indignation in her tone and actions more for show, than any actual insult taken. “And here I thought I was the show piece!” She listened to the explanation of the types of players – far more simple than she would’ve defined, but nothing she could argue about. It left her wondering what exactly the frontliners would be like – she’d met a few, if only briefly in some cases. And then there were those who were aspiring to reach the frontlines, like herself. She thought to her own intentions – did she aspire

‘She…wants to see me try…?’ Nari walked in silence for a dozen steps, the comfort of NIGHT’s touch her only awareness as they continued onwards. “Fine. Challenge accepted. I’m taking all of your time then.” Raising her arm, she gave a little twirl before letting her arm fall again. Bringing up her menu as she continued, she donned her armour and shield, leaving the spear stored for the moment – not wanted to break her connection with NIGHT’s hand quite yet. “So…where are we going, anyways? I know you said beaches…but is there a specific beach? Somewhere…hidden away? Or is it a public

Floor Twenty Four. It had been a while since Nari had last been here, and as she glanced around the memories came back almost instantly – a sting of regret as she caught the sight of NIGHT out of the corner of her eye. Her emotions hitting her suddenly, she gave the girl a slight squeeze before letting her escape the embrace, at least a little bit. Forcing the feelings of regret aside, she looked to NIGHT, deciding to answer the question that had been posed along the route here – her rush to arrive having overridden her ability to respond. As her eyes gazed around – every once in a while

“Let me know if you plan on dropping by for lunch, or dinner?” Onóra called as the two made their way out of the kitchen, Nari gently guiding NIGHT out the door before either could divulge any further information. Once they had made their way out the front door, Nari stopped and loudly sighed. “Well, I hope that was as awkward for you as it was for me.” She gave a slight smile towards NIGHT. “Sorry. I didn’t even consider that before…well, before this morning. I hope…well, I hope she wasn’t out of line. She…thinks she’s funny, sometimes.” She pulled up her own menu as they made their

“I’m available tomorrow.” The response was immediately, the words escaping almost as soon as the proposition had been proffered. Nari glanced at the forkful being offered to her, and bit down on it – careful not to be too aggressive in her movement, before leaning her head against NIGHT’s shoulder, closing her eyes and enjoying the moment. “You know, she was never this eager to join me for daily outings.” The smirk on Onóra’s face was the first thing Nari’s eyes noticed when they snapped open – her tone one of teasing. Nari knew that woman was prodding, but she wasn’t sure if NIGHT would

The ding of the bell caught Nari’s attention, barely audible over the sound of the hammer ringing in her ears. She wasn’t expecting anyone, and so it took her a moment to place away the hammer and drop the apron she had been wearing, before making her way out to the shop front. “Oh, hello! Sorry for the wait! How may I help you today?” She beamed a smile that she hoped would be welcoming, her eyes taking in the other player. It wasn’t anyone she was familiar with, and as she eyed her over, she wondered what sort of request they would make. “If you’re looking for a custom order, I recommen -
Nari choked on the piece of bread that she had been about to swallow when NIGHT offered to be her waltzing partner. Out of everything the girl could possibly say in response to the story, this was not something Nari had expected, at all. She was just considering responding to the offer, when NIGHT asked Onóra if she could steal her away for the day, as if permission was required. Once again, Nari was beaten to the line of responding, when Onóra giggled in response. “I guess I can let you have her today. And if you bring her back on time, maybe you can have her tomorrow too.” She gave

The awkward silence didn’t last long as Onóra laughed, NIGHT’s request bringing a minor shriek of shock from Nari. Immediately her head shook, and her voice squeaked as she tried to stop what was inevitable. “No no no! Don’t you dare!” But her pleas fell on deaf ears. Onóra pulled out the chairs from the table – a small, square redwood piece that contained four matching coloured seats, just high enough that one’s legs could be tucked underneath comfortably. She moved to the counter, grabbing a collection of fruits, breads, jams and a plate of waffles and pancakes, before setting them

The apple had been finished, as Nari had expected. She had rushed through her morning routine, her hair still wet in some places. Partly due to not wanting to leave NIGHT alone, but also driven by the desire for breakfast. She’d exited the bathroom in a new outfit – a loose fitting violet single shoulder sitting atop a black undershirt and leggings, her violet socks peeking out from underneath. “Alright. Enough lazing about, let's get this over with.” She had crossed over to NIGHT as she spoke, lightly grabbing the girl's left hand and intertwining her fingers with those on Nari's rig

Nari reached in and flipped the lock on the hand of the door, giggling loudly as she pulled it shut behind her. She couldn’t believe that NIGHT had actually left it open. Even Nari had always locked it, even when living alone. Her giggling fit carried her out into the hallway, and down the stairs to the kitchen. She found Yuki curled up on the little bed in the corner – the fox raising its head as she entered. “I know, I know. I’m sorry. But you had to stay out here last night. It won’t be a constant thing…I think.” She whispered to the fox. Turning away from the judging look that the
