[F20 - PP] Growth in the Garden | <<Nature's Treasure>>
Nari-Lanreth replied to Nari-Lanreth's topic in Intermediate Floors
A shift in the air as Jomei followed her lead, his blade twirling around before coming to rest. Seconds later, Koga’s own strikes flew by, almost as fast as those of Jomei, albeit seemingly less powerful. A brief nod to the two, and then she realised one of the creatures had slammed its claws against her side, pushing her slightly off balance. Regaining her feet, she turned to face the weakest of the creatures, shrugging off the strike that had hit her as if nothing had occurred. Focusing instead on her target, she let herself fall into her ready position, the shield and spear levelled, t -
“I look forward to the opportunity, if for no reason other than to redeem myself for what little I did here!” She gave a small wave of her hand towards the area around them, as if to signal the battlefield that they had been apart of until just moments ago. Her head nodding, she began the walk back towards the nearby settlement, turning to call back towards the other as she went. “It’s no problem at all. And if you ever need help with any other quests, or just anything in general in the future, feel free to send me a message! So long as I’m not in the middle of something, I’ll likely be a

[F27 - PP] Ghosts of Ming Garden
Nari-Lanreth replied to Nari-Lanreth's topic in Intermediate Floors
“Dúlamán na binne buí, dúlamán Gaelach, Dúlamán na farrai-“ Her words cut off as she fully registered what NIGHT had implied. Mouth still open she took a couple of steps, before letting out an almost soft reply. “Hey…I’m not that…” The sentence unfinished as she realised that her guesses had been relatively, if not wholly, off. Stomping along in falsely presented anger, she eyed NIGHT, pulling herself in tighter towards the girl in response. “At least I’m cute, right?” Her train of thought lost for the moment, it took her a few steps before she launched back into the song, letting th -

[F27 - PP] Ghosts of Ming Garden

Her head cocked to the left as Ghost clasped onto Koga’s arm, pulling herself in with what appeared to be a salute. Her mouth opened to ask, before it snapped shut, looking up at NIGHT and realising the irony of the question she had been about to present. Instead, her fingers tightened around her companion’s, before she turned her attention to the question posed towards her. “Yeah…yeah, the Ming Garden. It’s a little walk from here. Not too bad, but…we should be careful, especially with our…newest addition.” She failed to stop her eyes from shifting towards Ghost, hovering over the girl -

Nari-Lanreth replied to Nari-Lanreth's topic in Intermediate Floors
Nari gave a slight nod at the introduction, her eyes shifting between Ghost, NIGHT and Koga as she tried to figure out how to handle this sudden…change in plans. From what both Koga and Ghost were saying, it sounded like the girl was slightly out of her depth here. “I’m sorry, but…what level is Ghost? I know we shouldn’t ask, but…how much do we need to worry about her being here?” She shifted her gaze towards Koga, knowing the irony of the next statement and knowing there was no way to avoid it. “I’d prefer not to have to worry about someone dying on us, especially when chasing down a rum -

The second exploded into shards, and Nari felt a moment of relief again as she turned to face the third and final opponent. It seemed to pause at the loss of its two friends, as if it was suddenly coming to the conclusion that it was – for lack of a better description – expendable. Seeming to study her for a moment, it hesitated in its attack, allowing Nari a chance to put some distance between the two of them. She knew that she was quickly coming towards the close of what she could do, and that her best chance was simply to focus on wearing down the health, rather than the abilities of t -

The two creatures froze in place as Nari caught both with the tip of her spear. She took the advantage to step back and collect herself, knowing that she was quickly running out of energy to continue the fight. She could feel her muscles protesting already against the strain that they had been pushed through thus far into the fight. “Alright, then. Not much left to do but finish this as easily as possible, then. Come on, let’s do this.” She called out at the two as they slowly began to twitch into movement again. The moment that both were completely unfrozen, Nari launched herself forward -

Her target exploded into the thousands of shards that signified its passing from this world and return to Cardinal, helped in turn by the thorns hidden away within her armour. Able to turn her focus towards the other two, she barely saw as the third drove its claws into her side, causing her health to dip momentarily once more. ‘Two left, and then hopefully some peace and quiet so I can recover from this insanity.’ A novel idea, if she’d ever had one. But with the way that these two ambushes were going, how quickly they had occurred, she questioned where she’d have any peace and quiet the -

Her health bar dropped. Then dropped again. As she glanced up at it, she saw for the first time as it shifted from the dangerous orange yellow colouring, to a blood red. Eyes going wide, Nari felt herself stepping backwards – the realisation of the danger suddenly present in her mind. She didn’t hear the scream of the other as the words of her promise raced through her mind, the fear of not upholding it hanging heavier on her heart than the fear of what that red bar promised should it continue to drop. Scrambling, she pulled up her menu, finding the item she was looking for before do -

Stumbling slightly in her push forward, she felt the tip of her spear imbed itself into the ground – providing her attempted target the opportunity to leap at her and provide a retaliation of its own. As it, and its fellow launched themselves at her, Nari could do little but take the brunt of the assault, gritting her teeth against it before leaping backwards and putting space between her and them – somehow avoiding the claws of the third in the process. Eyeing up her opponents, she could see the further loss of health the second had succumbed to in response to its attacks against her. ‘A -

Her spear slashed across her target, barely catching it as the thing tried to shift backwards out of the way of her assault. Unable to react fast enough, it missed its own ability to lash out towards her, forced to stumble away as its health bar drained further. The second of the creatures slashed towards Nari, the claws rattling harmlessly off the shield on her right arm. The final, however, was lucky in its placement – finding the opening on her left side and running its own claws along the side of her armour and pulling an entire point of health away from her, for a single breath. Her -

Her attention focused on her target, she barely noticed as the two other targets moved around her in an attempt to flank her defences. Belatedly, she attempted to bring her shield up to block one of the two attacks, doing little more than directly the strike upwards into her face. As both landed their strikes – one that she was certain would’ve been far more dangerous were it not for her armour – her health bar ticked down briefly, before almost immediately returning to its original full position as her healing took effect. Knowing there was little to do beyond weather the minimal attacks -

Sliding back away from the three frozen in place creatures, she considered her options. She knew that striking all three at once would be…less than ideal. She wasn’t built for the area of effect strikes like others – but striking each single target with her tech arts didn’t seem beneficial either. Cursing herself as she tried to wrack her brain around her next action, she watched as the three began to twitch – the stunned effect slowly wearing off. “Stay with what you know.” Shaking off the concepts of changing up her attack patterns, she brought her shield up and her spear level, taking -

A deep breath released, Nari let herself lean onto her spear in relief as the fight came to an end. It hadn’t been difficult, but she still felt tired as the adrenaline slowly left her system – something that Cardinal had clearly managed to replicate from the real world, rather well. Sighing, she eyed the menu that contained what she had obtained from the fight itself – pitiful, at best. The sound of crackling rocks caused her head to snap around, her eyes cast over the area. She barely noticed the group at first, blending in so well with the rocky terrain. As her eyes fell upon them and -

Whatever Nari had expected, the sudden movement of the creature wasn’t a part of it. Ducking beneath her spear tip with faster than anticipated reflexes, the lizard slashed upwards, catching the edge of Nari’s cheek with its blade before the thorns in her shield lashed out in retaliation. She gave a growl of annoyance before dropping back a step – realising that she had underestimated her opponent, and had paid the limited price for it. She glanced up towards her health bar, already refilling itself and leaving the single point she’d taken as little more than a memory. “Fine, you want to -

The first of the two creatures exploded into shards, glittering on the air as they fell towards the ground before disappearing. The second seemed to hesitate – either surprised by the ease at which she destroyed its friend, or waiting for Cardinal to program its next action. Nari wasn’t quite sure which was the case, nor did she especially care. Turning her attention towards it, she brought her spear into an underhand grip, pulling her arm backwards as if to toss the spear. Letting her feet carry her forward, she quickly closed the distance between herself and her new target, thrusting fo -

A light flush covered her features as Jomei returned the greeting, bowing slightly in a way that made Nari feel both uncomfortable, and somehow more inclined towards the ginger. She gave a return smile, before returning her gaze to the creatures in the distance. “Dea-labhartha, ansin.” Forcing herself back to the common language between the three of them, she gave a smile towards Koga before making her way across the field – casting an eye back to watch the man hurriedly stow his fishing gear and attempt to give chase. “Right, let’s see how easily we can clear this field then. The evening sunshine shone through the large windows as Nari led NIGHT into the recording studio. The day had been eventful, if nothing else. But as they were winding down, Nari had felt the itch to return to the studio one more time - if for no other reason than to enjoy the looks her companion gave her as she worked. She'd never considered her singing to be...spectacular, by any means - yet NIGHT seemed to enjoy listening. Or, at least pretended to enjoy listening. Either way, Nari was more than content to provide the evening entertainment as it was. Taking a few moments to set the cry

The howl from Cerberus sent a shiver down Nari’s spine – so much louder than her own calls, and yet somehow not at all terrifying to her. Instead, she felt…encouraged, driven to end this beast once and for all. The lack of her shield forgotten, she gave a responding howl, before kicking off the ground and racing the small distance between herself and the giant beast. The hounds appeared in her vision, attempting to cut off her sudden launch towards their master – if that was the role it played in comparison to these newcomers. Nari let her feet guide her, her body shifting in movement as -

“I think this is the first time I've ever been told I'm better suited for dealing damage…” She forced herself to leave the joke aside, realising this wasn't the time no place for it. Stopping herself from turning towards NIGHT, she instead brought her attention back to the giant beast, knowing they were on the verge of having finished it off. A few different steps to avoid half crazed attacks from the three heads as Nari watched for the opening she knew she would need to land. She knew they were getting closer to the finish off this would quest, and although it was proving easier in a se -

The hand on her shoulder pulled her attention for a moment, somehow both comforting and distracting. The words – which tooka moment to register – spoke of concern. Nodding in answer, she turned her gaze back to the beast before them. “We’re almost there, I think. Let’s just bring these down a bit. I'll focus on the third head, you go for the second, okay? Just…don’t outright destroy it. Yet. If nothing happens after its next reaction, then we end this thing and move on.” She spoke quickly, levelling out her spear as she spoke. Her right arm naturally fell into a guard pose, before realis -

She had definitely drawn the attention of the large humanoid three headed dog towards herself. Staring up at the three heads, she smiled to herself, pleased with how well she had been doing this round. The howl skill had definitely made a difference on the situation, making her much more effective at drawing the attention to herself – something she felt relatively pleased with. “Looks like we’re doing this! I’ll hit the third head, and hopefully soon it’ll begin to…” Her words dropped off as she ducked underneath another failed strike from the creature. Eyeing up the thing, she knew that
