  1. The crunch of snow and the drifting music filled the air for a while as the two continued following Nemo. Although their breath was visible, neither complained about the cold in the least. Nari kept her eyes raking the area, looking for more of the materials she would need for her craft. Her thoughts drifted to numerous different plans, and she felt herself entering a haze of happy planning. “You know, the first time I met Nemo I was completely taken in by the garden. It was just so… wondrous. And beautiful.” Nari nodded, she had been taken in as well, but not by the garden. She felt her
  2. “Hey, this is where you found Yuki isn’t it? I feel like you mentioned that once before…” Onóra’s face seemed to blank for a moment, like it did when she was thinking back on something. “Yeah… something about trudging through the snow, and getting scared by a gypsy woman. Right?” Nari scowled in response. “I was not scared by the woman. She just…startled me is all. Not! Scared!” Onóra’s laugh broke the otherwise quiet air, and Nari let her eyes roam the frozen floor as she walked, thinking back on her time when she had first taken on the companion quest. Time had certainly changed he
  3. As they began their walk, Nari let her eyes wander, taking in the sights. On her shoulder Yuki sat, her head raised so that she could view the area as they passed. Beside her, Onóra kept pestering the poor fox, giving little treats every once in a while to appease her constant annoyance. Nari was sure Yuki didn’t mind in the least, but she still felt the need to poke Onóra in return. “She’s going to get fat if you keep feeding her all those treats.” A tinge of humour to her voice, and the slight smile on her face would’ve given away her teasing nature to anyone, but Onóra didn’t need eit
  4. Nari stepped off the teleport platform onto the grounds of floor four. She had been here not long ago, attending to a number of different things. Whispers has reached her though, that Nemo had made a reappearance in the area – something that was a blessing to Nari’s ears, seeing as she was in desperate need of more materials for her trade. A slight shimmer beside her and Onóra’s form took shape. Nari had asked the woman if she had wanted to come with her today – after confirming that she had previously defeated Nemo. Onóra had accepted with excitement, and so Nari had rushed off, making
  5. Seated on the counter in the shop, Nari was surprised when a sudden message came in. Smiling at Onóra, she popped open the message, quickly glancing over it before reading it again. “What is it?” Onóra’s question was one of curiosity, more than anything, and Nari gave a slight smile as she considered the request. “A friend wants help facing the giant on floor four… the one that gives a skill. I’ve been considering it but… normally its far too dangerous…” Half an hour later, and after much pestering from Onóra, Nari found herself stepping off the teleporter pad of floor four. Pul
  6. Nari watched calmly as the first of the creatures exploded into a shower of shards. Her eyes drifted to the second, keeping an eye out as it slammed its stinger into the girl, forcing her to the ground and the weapon out of her hand. Trapped on the ground, seemingly held in place by the creature and struggling to get out of its grasp, Nari realised the player may not be doing so well at the moment. Her concern rose as she realised the dagger was just barely out of reach, something extremely dangerous in this sort of situation. She knew that even if the scorpion didn’t do much damage each
  7. Nodding a little bit, Nari gives a knowing glance to Onóra. The two seem to smile for a second be Nari begins speaking again. “All valid points…what I would say to think about is whether you plan on being offensive or defensive as a base. If you’re planning on going it alone – which, by the way, will only get you a few floors up here, beyond that you need friends. Even the monsters on floor four worth fighting are too much for me alone – balance is good. But just remember, for ever bit you put into offence, or defence, or support, you’ll lose an edge in one of the others.” Waving a hand a
  8. Nari half listened to the description of the different stats. The man was clearly new to games, understanding the fundamentals for sure, but he seemed less familiar with the more advanced aspects. Nari smiled towards Onóra, taking pleasure in the innocence of it all. “Yeah that’s the basics of it all. The big thing is knowing your limits. Have you started specializing in a weapon yet?” Nari shifted the spear on her shoulder, while Onóra tapped the rapier on her hip. “Oh, and if you’re thinking about every making your way into combat, start thinking about what sort of role you want to take
  9. Taken aback by the bluntness, Nari glances towards Onóra, before responding to the individual. “Sure, I guess we can tag along…for conversation. You said this was your first game?” A side glance towards Onóra again, something passing between the two of them, wordlessly. Nari’s eyes suddenly slide up and down the player, taking in his appearance and seeming to try and figure something out about him. “As to helping… well, not much I can do aside from basically keeping you company – the quest itself can only be completed once. Cardinal won’t stop me from tagging along, but other than ma
  10. Nari cocks her head at the cautiousness of the individual – well deserved in this game, but definitely denoting someone who is new. She smiles slightly, trying to place an appeasing look on her face. Her eyes dart towards Onóra, and she slides slightly in between her friend and this individual, trying to casual place herself as a shield. “Eavesdropping? No. But the mayor isn’t as quiet as many would hope, and I’ve been through the quest before – most of us have, actually. We all recognize the words fairly easily, and know what it means.” Another half smile as she eyes up the man, trying t

  12. Hastily closing the menu she had opened, flushing ever so slightly, Nari'll smile and begin to give her standard welcome greeting. Stopping dead as she spots Astreya, a giant smile coming across her face. “Iris! Hey!" Glancing down at the piece that she had drawn, Nari gave a quick nod. “Yeah, should be more than doable. I'll give you a message as soon as it's done, okay?" As soon as the girl had left, Nari would head back into the forge, picking up her hammer and heading to work, a small hum escaping her lips.
  13. She hated this floor. The heat of it always made her uncomfortable, and although she swore to Yuki that they would never return… she found herself once again out in the desert sands – this time thankfully not being bombarded by blow winds and sands. A sudden burst on a nearby dune caught her attention, and Nari saw two scorpions erupt from the ground, closing in on what appeared to be a lone player. Curious, she crossed the sands, her spear cradled in her arm. As she came closer she saw the blue haired woman, who appeared to be confronting the two scorpions – a look of concern, or fear on
  14. Nari took a single glance at the newcomer before smiling widely. She waved the individual over, immediately sending a party request. “We’re just getting ready to head out and face the big Cerbie. We’d be more than happy to have you, isn’t that right Yuki?” A quick flash of a smile towards the pink haired woman before Nari continued. “When facing big opponents, you can never be too safe, right?” A glance at her menu will show a pending message – one she’ll file away for later with a slight smile, before returning her attention to the newest member. “Vigilion huh… I’m Nari and thi

  16. Her hands hit something hard suddenly, and Nari frantically pulled out what appeared to be a smaller sized box. Lifting it up for the other two to see, Nari turned to the older man. “Is this-“ Her words were cut off as he spoke overtop of her, his voice suddenly filled with excitement. “Ah! You find it! Perfect, thank you!” Suddenly he drops to his knees, continuing to dig through the sands, bringing up more pieces and explaining the value of each to the two women. Nari glanced at Oróna, making sure her friend was okay, and raising an eyebrow in question towards the old man. Only a
  17. The sands slammed against her frame as she tried to keep Onóra protected from the environment itself. She felt herself grinding her teeth, frustrated beyond all belief as she followed the NPC further along the path they were taking. Time seemed to crawl by, and it was with sudden shock that Nari realised they had come to a stop behind a large rock. The piece jutted into the sky, providing a small respite from the buffeting winds – just enough that she was able to hear the NPC’s voice as he spoke to them. “Ah! Here it is, just beneath the sands! Would you mind…?” Nari glanced at Onóra
  18. The leader of the group seemed to shift on his feet, a sudden decision made. He waved his hand towards the others, who immediately began to walk back to wherever they had originally came from. “We’ll let you go, this time. But be warned – this is our territory, and if we find you here again…” The bandit leader took a moment to gaze over the party before following his companions away. Nari waited a few moments, her muscles still tense, before relaxing. It appeared as if they had truly left the area, and without a fight. Nari shook her head, still trying to figure out exactly what had
  19. The bandit seemed to falter for a moment, before glancing back at his group. Clearly not ready to be talked out of a possible grand looting experience, he laughed at the words. “You might be a good fighter, but you can’t take all of us on!” His laugh seemed to die on the air as he tried to perform his bravado, and Onóra’s response took even Nari by surprise. “You’re welcome to find out. How would you like your grave markers to look?” There was no malice, no anger in her voice. It was a simple question of fact. And that would have scared Nari, if she hadn’t known the woman. The s
  20. The group of bandits shifted slightly as Nari’s spear dropped into position. A sudden shift of movement to her left caught her attention as Onóra climbed to her feet. Nari was just about to call out to her when the woman spoke, her voice steady as she addressed the bandits. “Trust me when I say you don’t want to do this. I’ve seen this woman personally take on some of the baddest creatures on this floor, she’s not to be lightly reckoned with.” The bandit seemed to laugh, before turning his gaze towards Nari. Her face was stoic, devoid of any emotion as she waited for the group to mov
  21. The sound of scrapping rock drew Nari’s attention away from Onóra. Her spear flipped into the palm of her hand as she saw a group of armed and armoured individuals. All marked as NPCs, not a single one looked friendly. Taking a half sliding step towards Onóra, Nari readied herself for the conflict that was about to ensue. “Did I hear correctly that you’re headed to some hidden spot?” The front man – and individual who was wrapped in red garments that covered his face, and tanned leather armour, with what appeared to be a slightly curved sabre in his hand – spoke. His voice had an accent t
  22. The going was slow, but as soon as they entered the out cropping, Nari felt the change in atmosphere immediately. The winds suddenly died down, the sands stopped slamming into her. It was like an entirely different world. Checking quickly on Onóra, she confirmed the other woman was okay before heading over to speak with the NPC. “How much further away is the hiding spot?” Her voice was calm and controlled, but she worried for a moment that the NPC may read it as an aggressive statement. “Is it going to require waiting out the storm, or could we make it there if the storm itself doesn’t ab
  23. Their movement was slow, made worse by the combination of the NPC, and the storm slamming into them constantly. Nari knew that things could be a lot worse, but she didn’t enjoy facing an enemy she couldn’t strike back at. There wasn’t much – if anything – that a spear could do against winds and sands. “Are you doing okay?” She peered over at Onóra, checking on the woman huddled in against her side beneath the shield. As far as Nari could see, she seemed alright, if a little bit uncomfortable. “I’m fine. I’m more worried about you. You’ve got no protection from all of this…” A tint of
  24. It took another few moments before they eventually caught up to the old man. Nari pulled them into close to the man, blocking his path so that he couldn’t shuffle forwards any further. She had to raise her voice in order to get his attention, and she found that speaking to him while keeping Onóra covered was far harder than she had anticipated. “We need to find – oh! Onóra are you okay? Sorry! – we need to find cover from the storm! We can’t keep going in this!” Her yelling was interrupted midway as she realised she’d hit Onóra on the head with her shield, apologising quickly before turni
  25. The slog through the sandstorm was becoming more and more difficult by the moment. Nari could feel as the blowing sands slammed into her – causing her health bar to drop bit by bit every once in a while. Beside her, Onóra seemed to be relatively protected from the buffeting winds – something Nari was glad for. She was far better off against the sands than her friend was, and so she used herself and her equipment as a protective cover for Onóra. “I swear… when we catch him… I’m going to kill him… myself…” Nari’s words were strained against the slamming sands and rocks, coming out in gasps
