[PP-F1]Jerry's 1st Quest (The First Lesson)
Nari-Lanreth replied to Jerry Rose's topic in Beginner Floors
Nari stepped out onto the street of the Town of Beginnings, leaving the shop behind. It had been so long since she had last visited this area, but Onóra had sworn there was a café worth visiting – at least once. And so, Nari had been dragged along, appeasing the woman’s desire to introduce her. She had to admit though, the café hadn’t been all bad. As she stepped out of the café, she heard a familiar voice – one that had many memories attached to it, and not all of them about the quest it was attached to. Spotting the unfortunate soul who was doomed to deal with the mayor’s request, Nari -

“We need to stop! We can’t keep going in this, it’s going to…” Nari called out as she got closer to the NPC, but the man simply continued his slow gait forward, apparently not hearing her words, or choosing to ignore them. She wasn’t quite sure which it was, but she felt herself becoming more frustrated as the sands continued to buffet her. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Onóra grit her teeth, a determined look on her face. Nari felt a moment of pride towards the woman – who had not spent a ton of time out in the field, now braving something that must’ve been somewhat terrifying to her. -

She couldn’t deny the logic in that – but first they needed to catch the NPC. Which, shouldn’t be too much of a problem, so long as they could keep moving. Something that the winds and flying sands seemed determined to halt entirely. ‘This must be revenge of some sort for making fun of how slow the old man walked…or a test of patience, which I’m currently failing.’ Step by step Nari moved them closer to the NPC, slowly gaining ground on the man whom seemed to have no negative effects in the storm. Although not moving any faster than before, he also wasn’t being buffeted backwards – no hin -

The storm hit so suddenly that Nari wasn’t entire sure where it had come from, slamming into them and buffeting them with strong winds, shifting sands and pelting rocks. She had immediately grabbed onto Onóra, pulling the girl underneath her shield in order to try and protect her. The NPC had continued to stumble onwards, apparently not at all bothered by the storm that had suddenly surrounded them – or more likely not noticing it at all. “This is absurd, we need to get him out of this storm before something happens to him…You okay?” The question was added on as an almost after thought, -

Nari stiffened at the embrace from the girl – entirely unexpected and causing her face to flush heavily – before relaxing into it, simply letting it happen. She wasn’t sure what had brought it all about, but she wasn’t going to complain at this time. After a few seconds, she began to truly wonder what had overcome the girl, and reached up to pat her gently on the head. “Is…is everything okay, Iris?” Her voice will carry a tone of concern. “Don’t you want to go play BlackerJacky with the others, or maybe…uhm…chat with some people? I mean, if you want to stay here or go get some fresh air, -

Nari eyed the pink-covered girl that had wandered up to her, her eyes taking in the armour and noticing her own handiwork. A slight smile crossed her face – as much due to seeing her craft in the wild, as a welcome to the other individual. Nodding towards the wilds beyond the settlement, Nari will cock her head to the left. “That depends…do you know of Cerberus? Apparently, there’s a bigger version of him now, that gives out a nice little Tech skill, assuming you can defeat him and his horde of dogs. Interested in trying to smash through it?” She’ll shift on her feet, letting the spear re -

The chatter of the two women kept them busy as they slowly followed the NPC along, their walk taking far longer than it should’ve. Nari kept a careful watch out over the area, noticing a sudden brewing storm headed their way almost immediately after they had left the settlement itself. The further into the desert they had gone, the more the storm clouds, the winds and the shifting sands had grown. It was enough that Nari was starting to worry they might get caught in an actual sandstorm, if things kept going. “It’s getting a little bit…stormish out, don’t you think?” She posed the questio -

The gates themselves were fairly inconspicuous compared to the rest of the little settlement. Nari felt they were somewhat of a disappointment, no flash, no appeal, nothing like the bazaar that she had left behind. Yet she could also see the advantage of that, keeping them more reserved in appearance – something that would likely allow them to be overlooked easily by possibly dangers to the area. Onóra skipped passed, suddenly beaming with enthusiasm as she cast her gaze around at the wide open desert. In contrast, Nari felt herself become more alert – her shield clinking softly as it bou -

The walk through the main street took almost half an hour – Nari knew this, because she constantly checked the time as they went along, desperately trying not to let the slow pace get to her. To distract herself, Nari started pestering her new friend with questions. “So, why all the fabrics? Planning on making something fancy?” Her voice carried a combination of a teasing tone, as well as actual interest. “Yes, actually. A few pieces of armour, and perhaps a little something for you.” A soft, devilish twinkle in Oróna’s eye caught Nari’s attention, and she wondered for a moment what -

The shuffling, delayed pace of the man was slowly driving Nari to the edge of her sanity. They had only just managed to slide out of the main bazaar area, and were making their way down the main street towards the exit of the settlement. For the first time in a long time, Nari checked the time hovering in her display. ‘Ten minutes. Ten whole minutes to make it a grand total of maybe fifty metres. This… this is going to be painful.’ The glance that Onóra threw her way made her realise that the frustration must be showing on her face. Trying to dismiss any sort of concerns, she forced a smi -

A voice at her side caught Nari’s attention, drawing her focus away from the carpets, shawls and other cloth pieces on display. “Are you an adventurer?” The speaker appeared to be an elderly man, a flowing white beard hanging from his face. Nari glanced at him, noticing the NPC signifier and the name above his head. “I am terribly sorry to bother you but I need help. I-“ Nari felt herself pull back a little but at the coughing fit that ensued, Onóra at her side letting out a small squeak of surprise. Nari shifted herself slightly in front of the other woman – not quite pushing her ou -

A shimmer in the corner of her eye caught her attention as the teleporter pad suddenly lit up. Nari pushed through the crowd with excitement as she saw the individual she had been waiting for. The golden hair streaked through the crowd, apparently having immediately caught sight of the purple haired woman in the group of people moving through the bazaar. Nari gave a slight wave the moment she had broken away from the others nearby, calling out as she went. “Hey! Onóra! Glad you could make it!” The woman smiled at back at Nari, her emerald coloured eyes glinting with a hint of laught -
Nari stepped off the teleporter pad, taking her first look over the settlement of Fortaleza. It was about what Nari had expected to find on a floor that was essentially one large desert. She could see tones of an Arabic theme, the vendors and stalls appearing to her as if some sort of Bazaar from a fantasy based game. It was tasteful, and fitting, but the heat pushed down on Nari, something that she didn’t enjoy in the least. Thankfully, she had decided not to wear her armour today – instead travelling in her violet dress with her spear held loosely in her arm. It felt odd to her to travel any

Closing out the menu, Nari smiled at the two girls as they joined her, greeting each in kind. “Morning to you both. Consumables sound… good? I’ve never actually used any. I generally just… well, try not to die.” Shifting her spear slightly she’ll watch the approach of another, this one appearing to be interested in their little meeting. The moment her introduction was completed, Nari smiled, extending out her right hand in welcome. “We would love to have you join us, we were just getting ready to complete the quest on this floor. I’m Nari, this is Astreya – or Iris, depending -

A chime at the storefront as the gong sounded. Nari wandered out to the storefront, her hands clasped in front of her as she bowed slightly. Glancing down at the diagram laid out on the table, Nari nodded. Her focus was entirely professional studying it for a moment before smiling at the customer. "Absolutely. I'll give you a ping as soon as they're ready for pickup, that alright?" -
Nari’s hand hovered over the send button, reading the text again to make sure it was correct. She had Designed it as a group message – including a new player she had recently become acquainted with. But as she was getting ready to send it, she had thought that maybe it was too much on the friendly side. Shaking her head, Nari hit the send button, before heading to bed. She was being overly paranoid. It was just a stupid message. Even if she included some… well, that didn’t matter. The morning alarm had woken her far sooner than she had wanted. And as she stood on what was likely c

Nari took a deep breath, calming herself after the dangerous attack. It had been reckless, but her frustration and anger had guided her. Thankfully, she’d come out okay – but she chastised herself internally, cursing herself for being so stupid. ‘That’s a good way to end up dead, and for what?’ She turned as she heard Bismuth’s sudden call, the man seemingly having drawn the ire of a nearby father boar. She cocked her head as he stumbled around it – managing to stun it, but certainly not looking comfortable in his conflict. “Hey, uh, Bis? Did you need… some help?” Bringing her shield -

Smiling as she found the treasure collection within the nest itself, Nari quickly collected the col and materials, locating a small piece of parchment alongside it all. A quick glance showed her that more of these lairs seemed to exist, as if there was one on each floor. Unsure of what it all meant, she pocketed away the piece before collecting the egg. Turning to the dragonling’s, she ushered them back the way she had come from – hoping to be done with this quest as quickly as possible, now that the hard part was out of the way. She gave one last look over the nest, making sure she hadn’

Her search around the outside of the nest proved to be futile. There were no signs of any sort of goods, at least none that she was finding. Scowling, she wondered if there was anything to begin with – she assumed there must be, because dragons were known to keep such goods around. But she had no actual proof of that, other than her own understanding of mythical creatures. Perhaps Cardinal had decided to leave out that one minor detail of the beasts? It seemed unlikely to Nari, and yet her argument against it thus far had been…well, in vain. Deciding that it was time to hit the nest, Nari
