 Loot: 7

Shield watched Beat empty the contents of the bag on the ground.

"Guess we're both having bad luck, huh?"

He took a step to the side towards a promising pile of debris, but once again, as he began to push the pieces aside, they produced nothing that looked like anything other than cracked and broken pieces of masonry. He shrugged and let his back rest against the wall once again.

"What can we expect to find in there, Rain? Obviously neither of us have been through a boss battle here before. Sure, it may not be a high level floor boss or anything, but it's still miles out of our league for our current level."

Only just now did the thought occur to him, but he had not addressed the thought of whether a boss would be able to hit with AOE. If so, Hate was no longer the only concern. Still, he suspected that Rain would already be aware of any such danger. He nudged the pile of rubble again with his foot, not even really looking at it.

Beat paced around the room in front of the boss door, wondering what was in store for them once that metal door swung open. He had not managed to get into the beta for Sword Art Online and none of the testers had released any information. This was likely due to a legally binding agreement from the testers, but Beat doubted if he would have shared anything if he had gotten lucky enough to get into the testing phase.

Even if I was a tester, I don't think anything would have prepared me to put my life on the line.

He gave the room a quick search while he was pacing, deciding to hope against hope that something of value was simply lying about. To his dismay, there was not and his streak of poor luck continued. He looked to Rain as he walked back to the group and sat down. Shield had asked the question that was running through his mind as well, so he simply held his tongue and awaited the veteran's response.

As the wanderer's mind delved deeper, his companion managed to break his concentration. "Well, they're a lot stronger than the mobs usually, but with recent changes, the mobs that I have to deal with just might be as strong. Who knows, Boss's are usually still different from ordinary mobs.If I have to guess though, the boss for this dungeon might be a Lizard King. I've fought it once, it was pretty tough since it hits fairly hard, but the thing is he doesn't have any aoes so you guys should be fine. Just wait for me to take the aggro." As the wanderer finishes his spiel, he notices that his energy bar is just about to fill up. "Alright, get ready. We're about to go in." That said, the wanderer stood up and grabbed held of his spear. He looked at it as if lost in thought, in reality, he was just still worried about the fight.

 Loot: 11

Shield was listening as he continued to rummage. As eager as he was to start crafting, however, the game seemed to have other ideas in mind as his searches continued to come up fruitless. As he glanced up, Rain seemed to be transfixed on his weapon, for only a moment perhaps, but even so, Shield felt the need to say something.

"We don't have to go in, you know," he reassured.

His face was stern and his features were set, but his words were not harsh. The look on Rain's face was troubling.

"Come on. People don't just stare absentmindedly at their weapon before a fight like that unless there's something on their mind. We've gotten lots of Col, and we even have a handful of materials to bring home. If we call it here, it's not going to be a loss by any stretch of the imagination."

Shield was all for getting the loot and experience, but if the guy who singlehandedly dealt every point of damage in their dungeon crawl thus far was having a moment, that seemed like a problem.

"It's not worth our lives. If you're not sure, I say we err on the side of caution. We're not doing anyone any favors if we're running in haphazardly and getting ourselves killed."

"No, we have to beat this boss if we want to escape this dungeon. That's one of the dangers of dungeons." After seeing everyone seeming to be ready for the fight, the wanderer step up to the door. He hesitated for a second, but this boss needs to die, in order for them to escape the dungeon. He took a deep breathe then he slowly pushes through the door. As the door slowly opens, an intense light blinded the wanderer along with an intense heat that blew passed the wanderer. As the wanderer's eye adjusts, he sees a ridiculously large Lizard humanoid on a ridiculously large chair. Next to him was a ridiculously large axe who seemed to be almost larger than the boss. All around were sand for miles on end. It's as if they're outside already. Perhaps, that was the truth, though. The intense heat would make sense for being outside.

The wanderer grew calmer than he was just moment ago. He knew he had this in the bag. He overestimated this boss. The fact that we're only on the 5th floor completely slipped his mind. The wanderer tightly gripped as he stretched his neck. "Keep your distance until I take his aggro." That said, the wanderer burst into a run and quickly charged the best before it could even get off the seat. Within moments, the wanderer leaped into the air and his spear began to glow crimson. Suddenly, as he lands on the beast's chest, the wanderer thrusts his spear into it's chest, one... twice.. trice... four times. As he pulls out the spear one last time, the wanderer leaps up once more and flips forward. As he flips forward, he smashes his spear downward towards the creature's head. The beast falls back into his seat the wanderer bounce back from the creature's face.

Unfortunately, as the wanderer was still gliding in the air, the beast wakes from his sleep and quickly reaches for it's ridiculously large axe. Within moments, the creature swings it's axe as if it weighed nothing. In that split second, the wanderer raised his spear to try to block the creature's attack. As the impact hits the wanderer, he's thrown far back, all the way towards the group once again. The wanderer's impacts in front of the group causing a bunch of sand fly up into the air.

 Loot: 17 - +1 Material

Gritting his teeth silently in the face of the heat and the massive adversary, Shield fell in behind Rain, and the battle was underway. Blow for blow, Rain seemed to be matching the great lizard well enough, even considering how solid of a hit the boss had struck. After all, that hit had been no joke. He felt the shock wave through the air, and if he could feel it, he could not imagine the impact on its target.

He ran over to their battered ally and hoisted him up under the armpit, giving him a base to lean against if he needed it. He had definitely pulled the aggro with his hit, so Shield and Beat were safe, for the moment at least.  He decided to dust off an old gem from Crossreign.

"That's it, Rain! Keep it together! If you can taste blood, then spit it in their eyes!"

It was a cry that his guild had used time and time again during their hardest fights. After all, when the nucleus of a guild is a tank, to some extent, your lives revolve around taking punishment. Repositioning his foot, Shield felt something against the inside edge of his boot. A glance down revealed a chunk of the wall, dislodged from the exchange of blows a moment ago, and sure enough, it had the same look as the pieces of material he had found in the first room.

You sneaky little devil...

He made a mental note to retrieve it as soon as his hands were free.

Rain's eyes narrowed as the heat from the boss room escaped as quickly as it could, blurring the image of the room with waves of heat. As they entered, Beat was grateful for the potion Rain had traded them. The heat was sweltering and he could tell that a normal human being would succumb to such elements quickly. His eyes quickly fell on the gigantic Lizard King and his ever larger axe, his heart beating quickly as he tried to contain a mixture of excitement and fear. His gamer and survival instincts were struggling for control at this moment.

"This is a boss?....amazing...."

He watched as Rain charged forward, dropping the boss's health by more than half, but he quickly saw the boss's counter attack coming. Call it combat instincts.

"Look out!"

It was too late, the boss managed to belt their companion all the way across the room and in front of them, kicking sand up everywhere. He strained to watch through the cloud of sand, looking for Rain's health bar. Finally, the sand cleared and Rain's only somewhat depleted health bar became visible. Beat let out a sigh of relief as he could already predict the outcome of the fight. He simply cheered Rain on, anxious to see the rewards from the dungeon.

"Finish him Rain!"

The wanderer slowly got up as if unfazed from being thrown like a ragdoll. "I'm fine." He says as he waved off Shield's help. "This guy is pissing me off. I'll be right back." As the wanderer says that, he once again burst into another run. As he got closer, he leaped once more into the air. He tightens his grip on the spear and then it begins to glow crimson. "Dimension Stampede!" He yells out as his spear begins to once again puncture and the beast's hide. After it's 4th thrust, the wanderer jumps high in the air, the beast tries to stop the wanderer, by swatting at the wanderer with it's axe, but sadly to no avail. Then in that single moment, the smashes his spear straight down on the creature. "Die." He says as his spear sinks into the creature's skin.

Bracchus, the Lizard King, falls back into his seat once more. As it hits the chair, cracks began to spread from the spear's impact point. Soon, the entire body disappears into a cloud of pixels. Once the beast disappears, the wanderer fall to the group. He didn't bother trying to land on his feet. Once on the ground, he kept huffing and puffing as if exhausted. "Got em." he says as he's still out of breathe.

After taking some time, the wanderer stood up to regroup with the rest. "I see the door," he yells to them. "That should take us out of here."
