PP-F6) Goblins Again (Itzal)

Recommended Posts

The blond started to head forward when he heard a tap on his shoulder. He wondered if Itzal just wanted to elaborate a bit more on his thoughts of how long it would take to find the dwarves. What he found instead, was the man had found a chest. The blond cracked a smile and Itzal approached it warily. The blond smiled and said, "Nice job. Perhaps you might find something useful out of it. If we find col, i am fine with it. It is a little bit more than we originally had." He turned his attention back to the mess hall. No goblins were coming from down there, and they probably had not been alerted of their presence. That was a good thing. They had the element of surprise. He looked at the chest. There might be a very useful item in it, or it might just be a standard monster in the chest of a fuzzy animal. He rathered option two. "Alright Itzal, get to opening it. We need to move quickly, but quietly so try not to make too much noise if you can help it" Still no goblins. There were all in rather good condition. He felt a bit proud of himself, but they were not finished with the job just yet.

Itzal began to get to work, and heard Jonathan mention col.  Itzal shrugged.  "I wouldn't get your hopes up.  Chests only have one really good reward but the chances of getting it are nearly impossible."  As he was about to insert the tool Jonathan started talking to him in a rather commanding way.  He turned to his friend and stared at him for a moment.  "I forget, who's the scout here?  Of course I'm going to be quiet, I'm always quiet.  Save for when I fight...  Though that might change after I max out stealth.  Regardless just give me a second."  He inserted the tool and cleanly and silently opened the lock, lifting the chest lid open and the loot menu popped up.  Itzal nodded with annoyance and sent three hundred col and two materials.  "Well, there's your extra col.  Don't spend it all in one place."  Itzal sort of felt like chests were a little bit like a slap in the face for him.  Sure he had the skill, but the skill did barely anything to get him the loot.  He could get thirty thousand col from fighting for monsters with his LD skills.

The blond shrugged as Itzal mentioned it was hard to get the good reward. "They should have added something to help with it... Perhaps Lockpick consumables would have been nice" The darker haired man turned his head with a scowl, speaking with heavily used sarcasm. "I forget, who's the scout here?  Of course I'm going to be quiet, I'm always quiet." The blond felt a wave of anger enter him. He had never been the best with handling anger, and Calming the Soul had not helped him much with it. His eyes darkened and he spoke rather coldly. "Oh yeah, you are the quiet one, I am the one who is loud, gathering the attention of anything nearby" He turned away from the man. He ignored the rest of what the man had to say and did something that his emotion controlled, not himself. He was being a bit cold, but the time for it to happen had now come. He <<Howled>>. He watched as a goblin that had been in the mess hall turned to the sound. It squinted into the darkness to see him.

The goblin called to a few friends and began to rush toward them. An alarm blared, announcing their arrival. He turned to Itzal with a cold stare. "THIS is who I am isn't it?" He unsheathed his blade and turned away from them. The four goblins that had arrived first advanced, and he let them. They were equipped with spears, and each of them thrust it into his shoulders or chest, but he was too angry to care.

Itzal simply blinked in response to Jonathan shouting at him.  There was really no reason for him to be angry.  Itzal was trying to be funnyish.  Just goes to show how horrible he was with jokes.  Jonathan wasn't like Beatbox in the sense that he snapped easily, but he did seem to snap from time to time.  The thing was that Itzal had no idea what the trigger would be.  Right now for some reason, it was his mentioning that he was always quiet.  When Jonathan screamed about how he was the loud one, the first thought in Itzal's head was that his friend was jealous but of course that idea was absurd.  He knew he would never get the answer thinking about it so he simply pushed the thought out of his mind.  Instead he simply stood up and opened his menu, switching back to his accuracy ring so he would definitely hit the monsters and walked over.  To his friend, drawing his sword.  By the time he reached him the monsters had attacked again and Itzal spoke to his friend after they subsided.  "If you're angry with me, we can spar after this is over."  He knew who the victor would be but that wasn't the point.  The point was for Jonathan to get the anger out and perhaps Itzal would find out what was bothering his friend.  What was really bothering him at least.

Jonathan stood there angered. He would not defend himself. He felt as the fires of his anger coursed through his body, giving him the energy to strike down an entire legion of goblins, but making him stubborn enough to do absolutely nothing. The goblins came at him once again, slashing and striking him, but in the end, they did absolutely nothing to him. His health rised back up to full, and the fire in his eyes remained the same. Itzal made no move forward, perhaps he was a bit nervous at his anger. He heard slow steps behind him, and as the goblins faded back away, Itzal spoke in a calming voice. It was hard not to give in, but he kept his anger, remaining silent. He would not give Itzal the satisfaction of calming him down this early. He was not one who liked to be mad, but he felt as if Itzal had tested him a bit. Tanks were the joke.

Itzal had no clue as to what was bothering his good friend, but that would need to wait after this group of goblins was killed.  The monsters had charged and struck at his friend and while they did Itzal nodded to Velnia.  He charged at the goblins, Velnia flying beside him, her lightning coming in contact with his sword which then came to life on it's own.  Itzal rushed in and slid across the ground, sliding under one of the goblin's spears that had been thrust forward at Jonathan, and when he got to his feet he slashed at the nearest goblin, causing it to scream in immense pain.  Itzal then released the sword art Shadow Explosion, striking as fast as Velnia was (which was pretty fast) and completely surprised the goblins.  With each strike, lightning shot from his sword, striking the goblins while the electricity from the sword itself stunned and bled them out.  After his attack he backflipped off of a goblin and landed behind Jonathan.

Jonathan watched as Itzal burst through beside him and began to rain literal hell on the goblins in front of him. In many flashes, and a whorl of blades the goblins were wasted to weakness as they stood in front of him. One was left stumbling where the darker haired man catapulted off of it. The blond watched as they recovered and began to move after him again. Their eyes seemed to be glee with joy at the fact that they would get to try these tasty morsels. The first came at him and he knocked it to the side with his shield. He sidestepped the next and kicked it backwards. As the next came and he butted it on the head with his sword. The next actually got a stab on him, but it got stuck in a crevice in his shield, getting it stuck. He slashed down on the spear's shaft and it snapped like a twig. The Goblin backed away a bit frightened.

Itzal watched as the goblins struck at Jonathan and struck hard.  The monsters were intent to deal something to this player but Itzal knew of course that they'd never get past him.  Unless a monster dealt an insane amount of damage nobody would be harmed.  That was the importance of tanks.  They made the battle safe for others.  Without tanks there might not be any players left in Aincrad.  After the goblins failed epicly to deal anything to Jonathan, Itzal charged forward.  However this time the monsters seemed to see him coming.  Itzal wanted to ensure he could hit them so he activated disguise....  Or at least he tried to.  However a message popped up that he could see, letting him know it was still cooling down.  Dang it he thought to himself.  He tried to hit the goblins however they were able to block and deflect his attacks, keeping themselves safe until his next assault.

As he finished his assault, Itzal surged forward striking, but the goblins helped defend eachother as best. as they could. The blond smiled wickedly and charged forward, slamming his weapon repeatedly at the goblins. Alas, it was pointless. They appeared to have gone into a defensive position to protect eachother from harm. The blond growled and immediately the goblins sprang upon him, three thrusting the tip of their spear into his shoulder, the last slashing him with the extended knife that he had made when he snapped his spear. As most battles, it was up to the other players, meaning Itzal had to start getting some hits in. As much as the player had made him angry at the moment, he was not doing too hot on the offensive side. You really could not blame him, as he was a scout, but damage was quite important as a scout as well.

The cooldown was almost done but he knew it wouldn't be ready in time for his next strike.  Somehow he knew he was going to miss.  He rushed forward and the goblins saw him approach yet again.  The creatures shoved their spears at him which of course he evaded, but as he reached the goblins themselves they tried to punch him.  Itzal had to evade out of their way in order to avoid the attack.  Every time he tried to get in close enough they found some way to drive him back.  He backflipped away from them and landed a short distance away.  This was really starting to annoy him.  However while his emotions were on the goblins, his thoughts were on his friend.  He wondered if he was cooling down or if he was still angry at Itzal for reasons still unknown to him.  It wasn't like him to just blow up like that.  It really scared him if he was honest.

Morgenstern stood in front of the Goblin's. They stood in front of him in a U-pattern. The outside ones cackled at him, feeling they would get a good chance to get him again. The two right in front of him seemed a bit scared to have the main attention on them as the other two flanked. It was a noble idea, but it would not work. The blond growled, moving straight forward at the two he had been trapped to go to. He moved fast enough to ram into the two goblins in front of him, and even outmove the jabs from oncoming spears. He spun around, trapping the goblins between he and Itzal. The goblins were completely focused on him, meaning Itzal should be in a good position for a good hit on these guys. 'Come on Itzal, you know this fight is almost completely up to you and your abilities.'

Itzal watched as the goblins made their move...  Poorly.  The creatures were countered easily by Jonathan and when he did he had ensured that the monsters were between the two players.  It seemed that all of their attention was on Jonathan but Itzal noticed one of the goblins in the back seemed rather tense.  As if he were trying to pay attention to both parties.  Had Itzal not noticed this detail he might have missed his next attack.  Now that he knew however, he was able to adjust his approach.  Itzal shot to the left side of the group, his sword drawn.  The goblin yelled at the others and they tried to strike towards their left.  When they did they swung at air.  The moment the goblin had noticed Itzal changed course almost instantaneously and shot to the right side of the group, releasing his sword art and hacking through half before leaping over them and striking the second half of the group.  He watched their health drop and was getting rather tired of this.  He needed to wrap this up.

Jonathan watched as Itzal took advantage of the disarrayed goblins. With two clean attacks the goblin were damage and disarrayed even further. 'Alright, now is the time to go!' The blond took advantage of the moment and charged forward. He managed to get a slash on al of them before they recovered and thrust their weapons into his body. He groaned at the brief feeling of pain. Form there, the blodn stood up and the last goblin made its b=move, slashing upward on the side of his face with a knife. The blond growled and backed away glaring at the goblin who snickered and wiped the red pixels off his blade. "You are on my number one death list right now, along with EVERY THING ELSE IN HERE" His last words came out with more a roar. It probably alerted even more goblins to their area.

Itzal watched as Jonathan roared with frustration and anger.  Though whether or not that anger was directed only to the goblins, or to Itzal as well was unknown to him.  Regardless, it could have easily drew attention from other parties, so they should probably move from this spot after taking down this group.  After all, Itzal only had so much energy he could use.  He rushed forward, Velnia alongside him, and struck at the four goblins.  Once again he barely managed to strike them all with Shadow Explosion, bringing their health further down.  One more strike and they would be dead.  However Itzal didn't want to switch to loot gear.  He just wanted to get this over with.  He leaped back as Velnia shot a bolt of lightning at them, dealing her bit of damage, before rejoining him.  Itzal still said nothing as the battle began to come to a close.  One more hit was all that was required.  He hoped he wouldn't fail.

Jonathan watched as the battle continued. It was drawing near to an end. The goblins attacks were becoming slower, and they were in the rd zone. Jonathan was losing his aura of power as well. The energy from his rage was fading fast, and he new without it, he would be drained for quite a long while. The goblins began to advance on him from to sides. They each stabbed at him, nailing him but also dealing no damage to him. The blond sweeped his weapon forward, but the goblins charged. The blond growled. At east Itzal should be able to finish of these pesks and they would be able to get a move on. The blond raised his shield and began to wait for the moment in which Itzal would attack again. One more hit and the man should be there.

Itzal was about to finish this.  Four goblins with ninety nine health points.  He'd knock them out in one hit and hope for the best.  He wouldn't have the bonus eight loot chance, but he would have a bonus five regardless.  It would be worth it though.  He needed to finish this battle off.  He ran at top speed and leaped over Jonathan's head, releasing shadow explosion down on them, cutting off all of their remaining health, and landing on the ground, rolling after his landing.  The four shattered into pieces and the loot menu popped up.  Six thousand one hundred twenty col and...  Three uncommon healing potions?  He stared at the items before sending half of the col to Jonathan.  He figured they should give these items to lower leveled players.  What would happen now was up to Jonathan.

Jonathan held the goblins back, keeping them just a bay before Itzal managed to get in the midst of the fight and finish all four of the creatures. The blond sighed and sheathed his weapon. He glanced at the man as he thought about moving on. He looked at the man's health bar and noticed his health was fine, but his energy was running rather low. The blond sighed. 'I am of no skill to give a good damage to finish off the next mobs and he is in no shape to continue on without rest. I should give him a bit' He shouldered the wall and looked on. In the distance, he could see red flashing lights and a few armored goblins were seen patrolling. Unarmored goblins were seen moving around crazily. It was such a strange sight to see as if they actually had thoughts and were fearing for themselves. It made him feel a bit bad, but not too bad. He knew they were just data and pixels without any real emotions, instead they were just programmed to look like they did.

Jonathan hadn't spoken, so Itzal would remain silent as well until his friend would talk to him.  Velnia however was getting impatient with it all.  She flew towards him, landed on his head, and smacked the back of his head with her tail...  At least that's what she intended.  Itzal grabbed her mid air and she tried to struggle but when she looked at him Itzal shook his head slowly and she stopped.  She was beginning to slowly understand what he meant but she would demand an explanation later.  She went limp to show she wouldn't do anything and he placed her on his shoulder.  After that he scanned the area for anything else he could grab, any materials before they moved on through the dungeon.  Even with detect and reveal there were no materials to be found.  He redirected his attention to the dungeon and scanned for any monsters or possibly the boss's door.  He saw one or two patrols in two other separate rooms, and the boss room down the hall.  However the door was locked which meant they needed to look for the key.  "We need to find the key to the door or we aren't getting to the boss."

The blond stepped forward, his feet echoed noise across the halls. Drip fell from the ceiling. Itzal spoke of having to find the key to the boss room. 'Kinda like a bunch of other games that are out there. Legend of Zelda was infamous for boss keys.'  He looked around, but suspected that some goblins had it hidden or with them. Still, Itzal kept searching the immediate area. 'It must be just so nice to just look for something and find it. Then turn around, kill some monsters and get infinite loot from it' The blond sighed and turned away, leaning against the cold stone wall. How had they gotten here again? Hadn't they fallen through the ceiling? The details were hazy as everything was. He felt the Itzal saw things through a better view. Sharper senses, focused vision. All he had was the ability to be hit a bunch of times and not die. He was like a giant boulder. He glanced back at Itzal who was still searching. How had he known the boss room door was locked anyway?

Itzal decided he might as well check for materials again before he entered another battle.  Itzal activated his reveal and detect skills and scanned the area, looking for anything that could be used.  He saw nothing.  Whatsoever.  However he did see a group of goblins whom he could have taken by surprise if he'd been ready.  Oh well it couldn't be helped now.  He thought for a moment.  It was a hallway with four goblins, each with a sword of random design and poorly made as well, expected from goblins.  None of them had shields and their armor was pathetic.  He turned to Morgenstern.  "There's a goblin group around this corner.  Figure we could take them out really quick.  At the end of the hallway is a chest, maybe it has the key."  He drew his blade and waited for Jonathan's confirmation.  There was something going on and Itzal hoped Jonathan would open up about it, but until he did they needed to work together regardless.
