(PP-F6) Cupid's Arrow (Sey, Itzal)

Recommended Posts

Itzal watched as the hellhounds were reduced in health yet again.  Itzal knew that one more hit would bring them to critical and so he had already made up his mind to switch gear.  Before he could call out to them however, Sey told Itzal he might as well change or not, that it was his choice.  He grinned and shook his head.  He knew how Itzal rolled.  He leaped back from the fight, startling the girl, and opened his menu, scrolling over to his Twilight Cloak.  When he equipped it, he also equipped the skyring, his clothes flashing and materializing in a nano second into his purple trench coat.  The girl aaahed at yet another switch.  Itzal nodded to Jonathan.  "You guys get it's health down a bit more alright?  I'll deal the last hit.  I'm not wearing my accuracy enhancement this time though, so it may take a little bit before I hit him...  Unless I get a good percentage that is."  With that Itzal got into position.  The girl tapped his shoulder and he turned to look at her.  "Um, what was all that about percentage Itzal?"  Itzal hesitated.  Was she an npc who would be able to comprehend the mechanics behind the game?  or would she decide it was nothing more than blind luck that determined the fate of the players?

Jonathan watched as Sey moved in for the attack, dealing a good amount of damage. The blond smiled. Sey was a great player, he was glad the man was in the CA. He deserved the Sentinel position. Itzal ducked back out to change into his loot gear while he and Sey brought it a bit lower in health. He nodded and watched as a few of the hellhounds became rather interested in Itzal. The blond ducked in between Itzal and the hounds. He charged forward, spiraling around his blade in a arcing motion. His blade collided with each of the hounds, not doing much damage but keeping them away from Itzal. "Alright Sey, get in there and do what you do best" He turned his head back to Itzal. (He got slashed in the process from the hounds but it doesn't matter right now). "you get that last hit, okay Itz?" He sighed as his health regenerated, but he managed to also get some burn damage.

"All right, hopefully..." There was a lot of faith being put in the damage that he was able to inflict. Hopefully he could live up to that. With that being said, he would aim to strike the enemies once again as he would move for their chests. It was said that the arrows pierce through the hearts. That was to make people fall in love. His spear was designed to make people hurt. There was a critical difference there. Fortunately, they don't really seem to have their attention focused on him out of all people. They focused on the right person, the tank out of all of them. Placing his spear through their chests would bring them down from the yellow zone to the red zone, indicating that they were nearly defeat, but not quite there yet. Another barrage like that should do the trick. "How are things holding up over there Itzal?" The snow-haired player would ask as he would leap away from them before they could hit back.

Itzal had now re-equipped his gear and heard Jonathan ask Itzal to get the last hit.  Yeah, sure, why was I changing gear if not for this reason?  He charged forward and the Hellhounds saw him approach.  Itzal swung at one of them but it leaped to the side and then jumped at him.  Itzal used the momentum of his blade and curved his wrist enough to block the incoming attack and knock the monster away.  The others did the same thing, dodge and counter.  Soon enough the hellhounds found a way around him and re engaged with Jonathan yet again.  Itzal was about to chase after them when he heard a scream from the girl.  He noticed the fourth wasn't there and turned around fast, blocking the incoming hellhound's attack, and nearly tossing the girl off, who screamed again.  He pushed the hellhound back and looked at her.  "You alright?"  The girl nodded with a whimper and he nodded back, looking to the hellhound only to see it was gone.  He turned around and saw it running to Jonathan again.  Dang it he thought.

As they neared their death's, the hellhounds seemed to move much faster. Jonathan rolled aside to prevent to getting slashed to ribbons. they seemed a bit angry, but perhaps a bit territorial, protective. What would it be protecting? He did not have much time to think before a red hot tooth sank into his lag. The burn reinstated itself, which he was not on his to do lists. Luckily, he was all fine. He made a good swipe toward a retreating hound, but the creature almost melted into the shadow;s impossible to hit, "Alright Sey, time for you to finish them off. If not, im sure Itzal would like to finish these things off" He raised his blade into the air in a cheering motion. Itzal fell back into position behind him. Question was, could he handle himself with a girl.

The health bar looked like it was JUST at the point of breaking based on what he was able to see. Locking his eyes down onto each health bar, they all looked exactly the same. The fear he had was that he would actually manage to kill them all off, which would ruin the purpose of Itzal changing into different gear. So he was going to have to take a lucky stab at it and for once hope that his strike did not actually kill them. Placing his spear up, he would trigger the Sword Art necessary, the Dragonfly Cutter technique. They charged towards Jonathan, but they did not seem to be able to get through any defenses. "And... Now!" Once they lined up, he would sweep through them with one swing to their chests, slamming them into each other and forcing them down to the ground, tumbling roughly against the ground before eventually ending up positioned in an awkward pile... But still there. Their health bars had a single pixel left, barely even visible.

Itzal noted that the monsters were attacked again, and this time brought down to one health per monster.  What insane luck he thought to himself.  "I'll uh, tell you after."  With that Itzal charged forward and released his sword art on the monsters.  This time he managed to hit the four of them.  After they died he saw the loot was the minimum.  This of course, meant that if he hadn't switched to his looting gear, he would have received zip.  Nothing.  He was thankful for what he received.  He divided the col, sending four thousand seven hundred and sixty col to both players, as well as the materials.  Itzal would be gathering again soon so he'd be getting far more materials.  With that over with the girl tapped his shoulder.  "Huh?  Oh yeah.  Whenever we search for something or attack, you have a chance to hit or find something.  That chance is a percentage.  Some equipment can boost the chances of success."

Sey charged in at the hounds, seeming a bit nervous for some reason. He struck the each of them with a slicing blow and knocked them all into one area. they did not shatter, but they had such low health a level one could finish them off no matter what. Itzal charged forward, his blade colliding with all of the creatures. They died instantly and he looked over to Itzal. He heard a nice ping and he had received around five-thousand col. That really was something. He accepted the money and looked over the two. "Good work!" He sheathed his sword and looked around the area. "Try to see if you find anything Itzal. Sey and I will ensure that nothing gets in your way again." He looked at Sey and pointed at the outside tree line of the clearing. He moved to on side and began to pace about the tree line. Nothing would get in here without them knowing. hopefully Itzal would find one this time. Perhaps Following his heart was a clue. He stepped inside the line of the trees and looked up, nothing.

Itzal nodded and scanned the area.  As he looked he activated reveal, spotting yet another path that led towards the mountains.  Most of the time cupids were related to the skies, however he felt this was way too cliché to be the path.  When he scanned the clues he noted that it was also an intermediate dungeon.  He doubted the cupid would live somewhere like that.  He shook his head.  "There's an intermediate dungeon over there but that's not where he lives.  Of that I'm certain.  It kind of looks like a cemetery to be honest.  A building that was made into a cemetery from the looks of it.  Not what we're looking for, though it might be worth looking into later on."  "A cemetery?  You mean where people are buried?  Why would someone make a building a cemetery?  That doesn't make any sense?"  Itzal nodded to the girl.  "That's pretty observant.  Either there was a very specific purpose for it, or perhaps some form of magic?  After seeing that shaman I don't know what we'll encounter anymore.  Or perhaps that was a one time thing..."

“It’s not Advanced though, which could be a little bit more rewarding than this right now. And I loooove, getting rewarded.” Sey would explain as he would look around. It did not seem to be the most welcoming place either. Was there a chance of being able to do two dungeons at once? As much as Sey would like to hope that the answer was yes, there was something telling him that it would not be the case. Even if they could, they probably would not. “I mean, it still seems to have a lot of loot behind it if we face whatever is in there. It would require some patience though if we want to get lucky enough to find something advanced.” He explained as he would then stretch his hands up over his head, stretching carefreely as he would then place himself back down, awaiting for further commentary on the dungeon that had been found.

The blond looked over at Itzal as he searched for a dungeon. The air was getting to feel a bit heavier as they progressed into the woods as if they were starting too deal with a heavier mist. If there was magic, then he might think that the magic had grown heavier or stronger around this part of the wood. He turned back as he heard Itzal mention there was an intermediate dungeon, but it was probably not their destination. Jonathan shook his head. "The boss we are looking for, would probably not live in a cemetery. We should take note of this one and keep moving father in. I don't like what would happen if he has as much powers as he said he did" He turned and heard another rustling. It came from the same direction that the others had, as if they were all coming from one place. Perhaps, Cupid was sending monsters their way to see their abilities, or even lead them to him.

"Alright, Lets finish these quickly" He unsheathed his weapon. He hoped his friends had enough energy to keep moving on with the battle. He moved forward to intercept the creatures, but it already appeared they were coming straight for him. They slashed through his armor, leaving a burning feeling in his leg and arm. He bonked one in the head with the butt of his sword to get it off him and <<Howled>> to gather their attention.

Itzal nodded to his friends and they moved on yet again.  As they walked the girl began to hum a traveling tune and Itzal suddenly wondered about something.  "Hey, what's your name anyways?"  "Hmm?  Oh!  My name is Valerie.  Nice of you to finally ask that!"  Itzal shrugged.  "I'd just like to have a name instead of thinking 'the girl' all the time is all."  Valerie giggled.  "If you say so."  That's when the rustling sound appeared and Itzal stopped to scan the area.  The reveal mod showed four more hellhounds about to pounce.  He drew his sword swiftly, startling the girl he was carrying.  The girl held onto his torso rather than arms or shoulders, which of course allowed him maneuverability that he needed.  However the monsters had the preparation on their side and when Itzal charged at them they saw him coming and leaped out of the way.  Even with their focus on Jonathan they seemed able to keep an eye on him as well.  Dang it he thought.

"Looks like it's time for us to do this then. I promise I would miss this one." The snow-haired player would declare as he would then hold up the weapon in his hand, throw it over his head and letting it twirl while he walked forward. His right leg would swing back to kick the spear over his head again before catching it right in front of him, following by a pounce from his legs as he would aim for the chests of the oddly familiar monsters they had to fight. The energy bar went from green to yellow, showing that he might not be having such a fun time later on in the fight if he was the only lucky one. Based on the stats he could see with his eyes, he was definitely not able to solo the damage with how much energy the cost. Considering how the sword art was not too good for an area attack, it was questionable for him to be fighting mobs alone in the future like he planned to get col. Well, at least he got critical hits on them.

Jonathan watched as Itzal charged forward, but the mobs appeared to be quite wary of his friends as well. Luckily, while they were focused on Itzal, Sey moved in for the attack, striking all of them with extreme force. The creatures yelped, but it quickly returned to a growl. The blond moved in, twirling his weapon in his hands. The hellhounds seemed less wary of him, but kept their focus. Instead they all charged. The first one came at him. He sidestepped and slashed it on the side as it fell back behind him. The next one came into range. It leapt up to bite at its face. He hit it in the the snout with the butt of his sword, and swatted it to the side. The final ones tag teamed but he spun in a circle, his weapon tearing through their data like confetti. He turned as he was finished and wonder where the burst of energy to that came from. They quickly recovered though, moving back in front of him, away from his friends.

Itzal watched as both Sey and Jonathan preformed a critical hit on the hellhounds.  Itzal knew it was his turn next.  He charged forward but yet again they saw him approach and lashed out at him, their claws deflecting Itzal's blade away from him.  He had to wonder if they had been there watching the last group.  Did they know he was a threat?  Then detect revealed to him a hellhound leaping from behind.  He was able to dodge it, however the Hellhound managed to knock Valarie off of Itzal in the process.  The girl screamed as she rolled across the ground.  The monsters began to show some interest in new prey and the thought of the npc never being able to respawn flashed across Itzal's memory and he rushed at them.  Before they could do anything to the helpless npc Itzal kicked one away and swung his sword, which they obviously dodged and decided to go after Jonathan instead.  He helped the girl up and she smiled weakly to him.  "S-sorry about that...  I promise not to be a burden anymore."  Itzal shrugged.  "You weren't a burden.  It's the percentage chance."

Another skip of the step as he would rush back into the scene with the spear in hand, slashing through once Jonathan did the same, and in doing so, he would nearly bring them down to the yellow point of their health. Not quite yet there though, which was unfortunate news for him in that case. With that, he would step back before putting the spear behind the back of his head, letting his arms rest behind it as the hands would hang over loosely and without a care. "We are having all sorts of luck in this battle. We should have thing finished in a couple seconds at this rate." So confident, it was not that hard to believe though considering the three of them. A balance, a hybrid dps and scout, and a tank. It was hard to imagine themselves on the other side of the spectrum when they carried out the plans, and then they bring back some col for themselves as well, which made things even better.

Jonathan watched as his allies kept moving in, striking the hellhounds like they were nothing. It appeared they all had an impossible amount of health. They kept trucking through the damage like it was nothing. They were STILL in the Green zone. "Alright, we gotta do something about this. They should be dead by now" He growled and charged forward slashing through them all again, their health barely dipping. He needed to bring up his damage, but he needed to max out his damage mitigation first. He looked over to Itzal and said, "Alright, go and get them. We need these things dead soon. I am getting tired of being toyed with" The hellhounds kept barking at him, snarling at him. He kept them at bay with his shield, not taking any damage. He hoped between the three of them, they could finish these creatures in one more rotation.

The girl seemed to be a little comforted to hear she was never a burden and that it was just the....  Percentage thing.  With that out of the way Itzal could make another attempt at attacking them.  He heard Jonathan mention how these monsters needed to be dead.  Itzal nodded.  "Yeah, all this missing isn't suiting me.  Unfortunately I didn't exactly have time to switch equipment."  Itzal heard his friend's next comment and it seemed his friend was getting irritated.  As he charged the monsters he knew he was getting annoyed, but still.  The monsters dodged him yet again and he sighed.  Every time he swung they dodged him just barely.  Itzal leaped back and shook his head.  "This is getting annoying I'll admit, but let's not lose our heads.  Stay focused and we can end this.  Hopefully I can get us decent loot for our troubles..."

“As a fair not guys… I’m running low on energy. My damage will be getting worse and worse as time progresses. We need to end this quickly… Or we will be dancing here for a few hours.” He would explain though a heavy amount of air as he would try to catch his breath, only for his turn to arrive once again, in which he would roll his eyes before then pushing himself further, his body feeling rather hot from all of the use it had been taking. After a while, these sort of things took a toll on the body, sometimes heavier than other times. He would slash through the chests of the enemies swiftly with his usual speed, sending them all  back and away from the group, only to stumble his weight onto his right knee, sweat drops falling from his forehead showing that he was clearly not in the best physical shape now.

Jonathan watched as his allies slowly began to choke. Itzal had no accuracy on his side and Sey was really running out of energy. The man was just behind him in level, and he knew the man was throwing out AOE attacks like nothing. He nodded to Sey and moved forward. He took a defensive stance as he advanced and the creatures snarled as he approached. He moved his shield to the side, allowing him to strike, but instantly as he did so he was charged by the four oncoming hellhounds. In a blur of shadows he was left staggering with red marks, already fading, littering his body. He grunted and looked to Itzal. "Get em' this time. Sey is running out of juice, meaning this battle will almost solely be up to you." It was a cold truth, but it was the truth. Jonathan had no purpose on the offensive side. He was meant to remain so everyone could be on the offensive.
