Through the corridors of the stronghold, the path to which he cut still left superheated as sconce melt and the ground itself a bright an uninviting orange. As if someone had turned floor 10 into 9, carrying with them the molten lava. His trail left little to give chase, else they risk becoming submerged and trapped within his bounds. Crashes of thunder from above leave trails of dust to escape the ceiling as he moves. The whistling continues as a younger man rounds the corner carelessly, spotting Vincent and freezing from fear. Drawing a longsword from his right hip, its produced out in front

The blurt of a horn sends out an alert for more then just their allies. A blade rips clean, the transformation complete and his marker a stark red. The systems gift when he wore a cardinal creature like a second skin was it was nearly impossible to target him. A faint red outline around a darker blackish gray osmium blade, an ungainly weapon that dwarfed even the heaviest armor in weight held taught in one set of serrated and pointed ichor covered fingers. Those stones begin to ping, one after another in small tones, and with it the wanderer begins to pop <<Detection>> sending ring

Nisahime replied to Reytac's topic in Beginner Floors
Using an index and a thumb, the woman reclaims the spool of potent strand from Reytac's hand. "Your thoughts don't match your words, Reytac." Nisahime comments to the fact that the man considered himself mundane yet as before, the inspiration and possibility that unfurled through his gaze upon being handed the wire had more then revealed something deeper. Half of the tinkerer's MO was spotting nuance and foreseeing interplay between multiple moving parts, the fact he could see the spidersilk like a piece of a grander puzzle affirmed her belief that he'd more then succeed his goals. "Good -
[SP-F18]Lurk in the Murk<<Feeding Your Enemy>>
Faerie replied to Faerie's topic in Intermediate Floors
The small hill that Fae was on could barely even be called that, it was more a mound of mud and muk that had built up in the area, a thick copse of trees having taken root the whole thing could be walked through in just a few minutes, though itbwas almost always easier to just walk around as the tangle of roots on the mangrove like trees made traversal tricky. Those very same roots also made an ideal place for mushrooms to grow and for other plants to hide. Fae took her time pursing through the roots until she was confident that there wasn't anything hidden in its depths. This was disapp -
{PP-F08 "Monkey King"} Great Ape Showdown
Scarlet Firefly replied to Reytac's topic in Beginner Floors
Firefly waited momentarily for Reytac to keep up with her before they continued. He was a considerate man to ensure the door closed behind him. It sort of seemed like everyone in Aincrad was nice beyond comparison. Rey would protest in her concern unsurprisingly - She would do the same after all. "We will look after each other then." It was a compromise they could agree on, though she still felt the pressure. The trio would head into the forest. She wasn't necessarily certain how she felt about Sewallus but her massive sword would protect him all the same. Soon they would come into it's t -
[EV-F22] A Night of Offerings
Acanthus replied to Ariel - The Crowned Lion's topic in Intermediate Floors
The thought of being here made her homesick. Beautiful crimson gates beckoned her into the estate and along the winding road towards the shrine. At the entrance, she glanced over a collection of objects to offer at the shrine. She spoke with the hosts as she wrote some characters in a delicate, thoughtful script. "I did not realize you would be opting for a more traditional setting. I apologize for my dress. Had I known, I would have worn something more appropriate. I will enjoy walking the path, and I will offer my thoughts at the shrine." She moved quickly, snatching up 3ulogy before he -
[EV-F22] A Night of Offerings
3ulogy replied to Ariel - The Crowned Lion's topic in Intermediate Floors
The thought of being home made him sick. Vermillion torii mocked as a reminder of everything he was ecstatic to leave behind. The clutter at the table by the entrance was another sad reminder of reality, containing traditional offerings that one would expect anywhere in Japan. He grabbed some blank sheets of paper to fold absentmindedly while Acanthus did the talking. He was careful to keep his mouth shut. A loose mouth meant no candy when he inevitably offended the hosts with some disparaging comment about the "festivities." They'd put a lot of effort into the path, and it looked really good. -
The sun had barely dipped below the horizon when 3ulogy sent his sixth message for the day. "Hey it's basically dark I want to go trick or treating you promised" Acanthus thought it best to not complain after being the one to request an early start. Besides, she had just returned from Floor 11 with a haul of suits, but still needed some time to put the finishing touches on her costume for the masquerade. Going early was a much-needed break in the process, and would give her plenty of time before the masquerade's late start. She found a simple charcoal suit, styled for a moderate

"We're here way too early. Ugh, we're gonna look like losers." 3ulogy's feathers bounced up and down, mimicking his agitation. His voice sounded muffled through the plague doctor's mask. "Maybe we should take another lap or something. At least wait until it's starting to get dark?" "I asked you this morning if earlier was ok." Acanthus explained patiently. "I told you I had plans to go to a party this evening, and I needed plenty of time to get ready. So when I asked if around dinner was ok, you said—" "I know, I know. Don't have to rub it in." "I'm not. And you know, you could

[PP-PT-F08] Grin and Bear It | <<SotW: Kumatetsu>>
Astra replied to Astra's topic in Beginner Floors
The nod from Wulfrin was all Astra needed to start the assault against Kumatetsu. Astra leapt into the boss arena with poise, quickly transitioning into a dash towards the large ursine. Kumatetsu was roused from its slumber the moment the swordsman clad in white entered the battlefield, quickly pulling itself up, and letting out a deep guttural roar. The roar that came from Kumatetsu seemed the rumble the earth beneath their feet, but Astra continued his advance undeterred. As he neared Kumatetsu, Astra began to initiate a sword art. The steel of his blade began to glow a bright blue, wi -

Reytac replied to Reytac's topic in Beginner Floors
"Ah, sorry about that. Name's Reytac." Telling her his name had completely slipped his mind since he had initially thought she was going to fall on her face, and the oddity and abruptness to her actions, like diving into a mimic, had kept him offkilter just a bit. "And, I suppose? I wouldn't have called myself one before all this, if anything I was just another guy. But in here, sometimes you need an edge. Or at least, I will. And the thought of tinkering with things appeals to me." Somehow, Reytac didn't really think this woman would need anything like an 'edge'. It was rather strange, really -
[PP-PT-F01] The Cool Off Period | <<The First Lessons>>
Astra replied to Wulfrin's topic in Beginner Floors
This would mark the first time since being bound to Aincrad that Astra would take on a "trailing mission". Though, this was in no way an official quest. Following Wulfrin through the alleyways and streets of the Town of Beginnings, Astra couldn't help but wonder why that player had run. Did him and Wulfrin look intimidating or frightening? Wulfrin maybe. He looked like he had a tough demeanor at times, but Astra? Maybe it should be considered a compliment. Huh, maybe I do look kinda tough. Nice. The duo of master and pupil waited outside of Zachariah's shop for the raven haired player to -
“What’s the matter?” Mari hissed as she loomed over the struggling man. “Weren’t you gonna end me? Where did all that Bravado go?” He writhed and kicked beneath her. A man twice Mari’s size clad in silver armour. A thin buzz cut and stubble on his chin, his weapon - a large axe had been thrown several feet away. Away from his reach. Around the two were clear signs of a scuffle, and to the side, curled up in a ball by the base of a tree was a crying girl, knees held up to her chest and head buried into a ball. Her tiny form shaking like a leaf, she couldn’t be any older than 7, 10 at

"Woah, there buddie!", Lyle speaks up as Al begins to leave, "You don't exactly look prepared, grab a weapon from the rack there and that bag of Tranquilizer Truffles.", he turns his attention back to his own work, "kids!", he shakes his head in disbelief. The rack is laden with weapons of a quality superior to anything that Al currently had access to. "Damn! Why did I bother naming my starter gear!", looking through the array of swords, maces and spears, he was in aw, but it was one particular sword stood out from the others. A one-handed sword, it had no guard and a blade just a litt

No time for tired,” Mari's eye twitched. She wanted to snap at him for that. No time? No fucking time? Was she just repeating the same mistakes of her past? Burning the candle at both ends? Too much of herself given, and not enough to hold things together? The bile and fire burned and Mari opened her mouth to throw a fiery insult at Oscar but it all fizzled out as he reached forward. Calloused hand wiping mud from her face. Fragments of memories, their times together trickled to the forefront of her mind and quelled her temper. Mari leaned forward, her head resting on his shoulder. An in

"So, you just gonna stand up here and brood all night, Mister Wayne?" Sin spoke softly, not wanting to disrupt the festivities down below. Even so, she kept a teasing edge in her voice as she approached Oscar from behind, leaning forward to drape her arms over the balcony railing. Her attire for the evening was a major departure from her standard fare. Then again, the fact she had clothes on at all in a place like this was much the same. White linen shirt, top two buttons undone both to prevent confusion and simply because she could. Hair messy, but clearly be design. A long coat rested u

Mari wasn’t bound, her body not afflicted with paralyzing toxins or agents. She had been given her Halberd back but the woman was listless. Lifeless. Eyes void of the passionate light they usually held. The focus, instead they shifted to and fro in the tiny dark room. Every so often she’d twitch - her health still steadily and slowly ticking down. Beside her stood Addex, the ringleader of their group. He could hear the chaos outside. And soon the All Consuming Tyrant would come here. Addex’s brown eyes flicked over to Mari. It took a lot of work, but her mind was practically gone. Addled

A blazing pyre, the man is caught only a few steps from the dude that shared tea with Mari and ruined their home on at least one occasion. The look he receives feels almost familiar, and Lancaster cannot shake that feeling but unable to make the connection despite it being on the tip of his tongue. Catching the items tossed his way, a little dumbstruck by them and riddled with a difficult to describe feeling regarding the guy that offered them. Was he afraid? A shake of his head, he chops the feeling up to concern for Amari and whatever she'd been through. It allows that sorrow to twist into a

A sharp twist of his body and a lift of his face to his glasses sees them removed, the arms of the lenses folded in a slow and deliberate steeling of his resolve. Like a headsman sharpening an axe, casting judgement and offering a guilty verdict in one subtle motion. "Vincent, before you go." The wanderer spoke, but his voice seemed distorted as lines of black began to trail up his neck his eyes inhuman and monstrous with hatred. "Its likely they hit her with some of her own concoctions or some garbage they cooked up. Catch." The man remarks tossing two items one after another. "The vial first

4 days ago… Blindfolded and bound in chains Mari knew she was on the 10th floor, she recognized the tingle on her skin - the way her hair always stood tall on her back. The whispers that clawed at the fringes of her subconsciousness. Was this supposed to be their way to control her? That wouldn’t work, Mari was very intimately familiar with this floor - she was used to this floor. What she wasn’t used to, was being freezing cold. No items, blindfolded. She could feel a large hand guiding hers and Mari loathed to see what they were doing. “Make sure ya get every weapon and accessory

Standard Recovery | +1 EN, Battle Healing | +4 HP Suddenly she felt three separate bites gnawing on different parts of her body. She knew that it was only a matter of time before they would become suicide victims. She would wait for this thought to come to life as she just lays there on the ground like a cat would. She was very tired and to be honest she really wasn’t sure why. One by one they all pop, sending confetti in every direction. Watching the rainbow shards float down slowly, hit the dirt and vanish. It had been a very long day. She has been out here since the sun rose and the su

Shaking her head, she glances around for more fun play things. Hearing rustling in the distance in some bushes, at first sight she saw nothing of note. Then she would second guess that thought because if they were rats, they would be smaller and not able to be seen unless she had gotten closer. This is what she did, eyeing the grounds around her carefully as she watches for any movement. “Got you y

They would burst every time they bit down but it was still fun. The size of them were bigger than normal but they were still much smaller than the boar’s. It just made for a bigger play toy in her opinion. One tries to escape and she runs, slides in front of it and turns to face it. A very smirky smile painted against her lips. “What you gonna do little wat. if you wun I will catch you.” Licking her lips, the rat goes

Standard Recovery | +1 EN, Battle Healing | +4 HP Sitting, taking a deep breath and looking around carefully. There was nothing around but the leaves that were still falling. Excitingly she would rush to them and start trying to catch them in thin air, a smile was kept on her face the entire time. Stopping for a moment realizing that she was feeling weighed down, shaking the water off her frame. It was getting a bit chilly, but she knew that the more that she moved, the warmer she would get. Biting at the leaves again that were still falling, she would spot in the corner of her eyes for c

As she waits for more money bags to appear she cleans her hands, licks her lips. It wasn’t like fish were sticky but they were slimy. It could cause her to slip and slide across surfaces that she really didn’t want to. It also on some occasions made her miss attacks that were intended to hit. That was never a good thing so it was better to just keep herself clean. More boars come rushing towar
