The creature was breathing heavily behind her, she could feel its hot acrid breath tickle the skin on the back of her neck and arms - tinged with a sort of prickling pain that continued to tick down her health. Mari blinked - seeing a warped screen pop up in front of her. She couldn’t read it. Text too jumbled. It reminded her of what happened on the 29th floor with the drinking quest. Confused. Mari reached out and clicked ‘Accept’ without much thought. The moment she pressed the button the pain stopped. Her health stopped ticking down, and instead started to tick up as her battle

Eruda started following [F4 -PP-PT] Learning New Skills
-
Pulling her long white coat closer together, shivering with every step made. Raidou was out and she didn't want to stay in the house today. She wanted to learn something new. Her choices were a bit limited, there was the piano that just showed up. She was still unsure when he had gotten it but without basic music knowledge there was no possible way that she could learn such a complex instrument. There was the dance that Raidou had shown her time and time again but dancing around the house with nothing to latch on to, it would look a bit stupid even if she was alone. There was cooking but she w

A black cable races across the ground latching the unconscious ones ankle and ripping it into Raidou, that black blade tearing through it as its whisked up. Across the waist, its carved in twain and shatters like glass upon the branches and terrain. Mari was just as headstrong as always, the endless pain in the butt. In another age he would have forced her, afraid of his own control for fear of turning on her. Watching her health flash in and out, the blood red miasma tearing at her vitality like many more before it. The man flicks his screen open, choosing to trust her. Put his faith in her i

[F29-EV] The Final Stand | <<Fatal Error ACT: 2>>

As was quickly becoming the standard, Yue Hua woke up and Cardinal had dropped an event on top of her head. She had dozens of notifications to check off, both from the guild channels and the system itself, and past the walls of the Trackers Alliance's F29 outpost, Ilridge had experienced an abrupt change in soundtrack. Before anything else, Yue Hua rushed to the nearest window and flung it open. Popped her head out, her iridescent eyes wide, her entire being unkempt. The first culprit was a red-haired boy on a makeshift stage, yelling at the top of his lungs. "GIVE IT UP FOR STY/L!” - Today

"Mari?" His voice didn’t sound right, it reverberated and layered over itself over and over and over again till it was nigh unrecognizable. "You need to leave!" “Like hell I am.” Mari hissed as she grabbed the collar of the man who scrambled to pick up his Katana again - she used the momentum of his charge and grabbed his collar - ramming his face into a tree - he slumped to his knees then fell face first into the dirt. Unconscious. Why did he recognize her and only start aiming for Raidou? There wasn’t something quite right about this situation. Everything screamed at her t

Things were….Okay now? Mari wasn’t sure…most of the tension had left the air but there was still something slightly off about everything. For starters..Freyd. He was unusually silent, eyes downcast. Mari’s brow furrowed in concern. Did her slap comment get to him? Mari cleared her throat as she tapped her fork absently against the rim of her plate. “Uhm…just so yanno…” She began, her other hand tugging nervously at her fringe before she tucked it behind her ear. “I wouldn’t actually slap you that hard.” It was supposed to be a joke, a poor attempt at one, but hey - Mari wasn’t good in these so

The thickened black ichor suctioned to his skin, drawing itself along him like furthering death on a low tide. Surrounded by the hounds of man, wolves in the shape of people who to which they'd worn the pelts of sheep. Far too long it had gone on on table scraps, failed potions, and the like. It was eager for a feast that it had not had for far too long. The resonating shriek of a woman who had since escaped her own heartache, her own turmoil. An echo through a cavernous death trap it would echo for miles down those somber woods. "Mari?" It would hiss in a horrid twist, a layer of voices spoke

She was back at that clearing; the place her and Lancaster had doomed each other into a messy and heated passion fueled descent into mutually assured destruction. The pin that dropped and created ripples so large that neither could escape. Yet Mari…wouldn’t have it any other way. She had found something in the man that had changed her, forever, for the better. A soft hand ran itself over the new flower buds that poked through scorched earth. Brushing away some of the ash to better allow the new growth to sprout. The patch would survive and flourish. Mari stood and wiped her hands on

Raidou started following [F28-PP-PT] Stranger the Fiction

♫ The simplest of journeys can often lead to the unexpected. Time had a way of burying all history, leaving only those that survived it to remember what had happened. This hatchet lay buried for all trapped within the confines of these 4 digital walls, allowing those within to flourish and thrive. But there would always be those that refused to forget, or those that would unexpectedly walk through the dusts of time and awaken what slumbered within its confines. Sometimes its best to leave well enough alone, sometimes the truth is stranger then fiction. The soft crunch of leaves

Mari glanced at her wallet and noted her 9k col. well shit. "aight." She said as she slammed the col down on the bench. "I only got like 9k so this is all I can do." She better get somethign good out of this. Next time, she might just junk everything. -Sent all her col to Mornignstar- -

Morningstar eyed the pool of unidentified items. It wasn't often a broke player killer wandered into his store. He played along curiously. "A little over 18,000 col for these, but the junk items will offset the cost." He ran the math in his head. "You're looking at... 11,420 col total." @Mari -- can do tmrw afternoon !! -
At headquarters, Morningstar filtered through his files. An influx of new trackers meant a higher volume of work for the guild leader. Though the guild made them out to be bonified freelancers, it wasn't an accurate description. They required all the same training and communion that a standard guild would provide. The increased output and rising success rate of rumors made it a worthy tradeoff, however. Morningstar's vision was coming true. Two rookies in particular caught his eye: Gambit and Riardon. The later was recruited by Wulfrin, but Morningstar wasn't overly familiar with Gambit.

The woman entered the small store; feeling fatigued. Having just come down from the ever overbearing miasma tic effects of the 10th floor. "Hey, so I got some things to appraise... and some to junk." She sighed, glancing away as she tugged on her fringe. "I...may be broke. Very broke. Like, I've never been this fucking poor since being in the town of beginings broke...so..." Mari shifted her eyes back to the tall blonde man. "What's the damage? How much am I being set back by." A pause. She wasn't able to interact with others all that much. "Do you know of any way to get a lot -
[PP-PT-F25] Life Within the Labyrinth | Nature's Treasure
Mari replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
She needed money. Mari was flat ass broke after upgrading her house. Mainly thanks to Freyd giving her the inspiration and desire to finally upgrade her house. Partly, partly because her beloved got a little bit too excited and singed a hole in the ceiling. She’d have to remind herself to chemically treat the entire place before he visited. So, Mari found herself in a very lush labyrinth - filed with thriving wildlife and thick flora. Vegetation burst from every nook and cranny. Grass grew between cracks in the path, if Mari were to look up at the sky it was practically enshrouded in a se -
The dingy left much to be desired. And Sable had desired a lot more boat to work with. With a sigh he waited until the others had gotten situated in the poor excuse for a boat before hopping in himself and untying it from the dock. He listened to Edict as he told them they needed to keep the lighthouse to their right as they skirted the coastline. The sword bearer was consulting a barely filled map as he spoke to them. Opening his own map he trace a finger along the coast where he had filled in more of the map. "Hah, sorry to be the barer of bad news but there is no safe zone here Ed

With the sword back in his hands, it began to whisper the way forward. He just wished it hadn’t pulled them to the dinghy Elora had found. “I would really like to avoid the water if it’s possible. I can’t swim all that well in heavy armor.” The words had leaked to the party before his brain caught the absurdity. To confirm what he already knew, he looked down at his body. Not even cloth armor—just the scraps of clothing every player recognized as their first set, bestowed by the game. He looked back at the party with a nervous expression. “I… used to wear heavy armor. Force of habit.

Sable blinked. He stared at Krow for a moment, trying to process her words when it downed on him. His face turned a beat read and he attempted to cover his mouth with his hand as he turned away. "You-- I-- Yeah. Alright." he managed to get out. He couldn't bring himself to look her in the eyes, but if he had he would have seen the eyes and grin of a cat. She bit her lip as she watched him squirm and went went back to her drink satisfied. At least until she realized he hadn't shown her the location of his secret pond. "I neeed the map daata." she slurred. He turned back to her an

"Elora.", she introduced herself bluntly. Meanwhile, her mind ran in frantic circles. She had been looking to them for aid, and suddenly she was supposed to be one in charge? What the hell are you doing on the HIGHEST LEVEL?!, she nearly blurted out. Under different circumstances, she would have hounded the trio for coming here. But there was no time to waste. Not for her sake and especially not for their's. Leaving the blue one to handle the sword, Elora would look for a way to make the others useful. "You know where to go -- so we just need to get there.", she thought aloud as ey

Stepping over a branch or two, moving a few branches as he comes upon a small cottage. Glancing around cautiously before grasping the handle, pulling out a key to unlock the door. He knew that he couldn’t stay long, at any time he would get a message for another task. One that had to be done whether he wanted to or not. They knew where his daughter was and reminded him almost daily. Even if he moved her they would find her, they always did somehow. Made him feel like they were watching her, it was another reason he couldn’t stay. Opening the door and closing it behind him, hearing pitter patte

A cold wind, bitter and ambient, swirled around Mari’s feet as she rolled into the misty shores of the forest that surrounded a lake. The area had a coldness that tore through her skin and seeped deep into muscle and bone. It was difficult being here. A gloved hand instinctively reached up to wipe away residue from her lips. Gemini. A quest that seemed so innocuous at first. But through a series of unfortunate events it had become so much more. Now - it was the first step of many Mari wanted to take to better herself. "FUCK YOU ALL!!!" Akir's rage bowed trees and grass alike away from her like a microburst snapping the wind in a sudden rotation all around them. The spontaneous proto-tornado wrenched the chains from her companion's grasp, loosening all hold upon the raging gloopy mess-of-a-Mari, who promptly tore the barbs from her inky flesh and hurtled them back at their bearer. Something akin to a tentacle spun around, spawned from nothing and existing only long enough to snare a wide-eyed Mari and toss her into Akir's only remaining way out: right through Montjoy. Detached from his caster in the c
