It was a pleasure watching him. The ease with which he took to the stage, and settled into the literal and figurative rhythm, fascinated her. As far as she knew, Jomei and Lysette had never performed together, yet they complimented each other perfectly. Outsiders might assume that they'd been playing together for years. Lessa, who didn't have a musical bone in her body, marveled at the simple fact that two strangers could produce such magic. Lysette's words wove through the notes strummed on Jomei's guitar, filling the large space with light and life. And for the moment, Lessa was content to s

<below is a dream, and does not take place in the game> Luke was out and flying throughout the great savannah outside of Yael. He was searching for what the locals had called “The Run” which was more or less the only way to get to Yael. Nobody had ever given him an iota of details about it other than it was dangerous. So, Luke was looking for some place that seemed dangerous. He was looking for some kind of clue, anything as he had to find Yael soon or risk running out of food. If only he could find someone else trying to complete the run too. The flighted mage eventually cam

Reytac hummed before he nodded his head in agreement. He could see walking around in shoes like that being difficult as hell, even if they did accentuate her calves nicely. She had to be right, though, it was the only reason he could think of, some kind of special consideration put in place to keep this ‘tutorial’ quest from dragging on forever. The real meat of this profession wasn’t finding the items after all, it was identifying them. ”Yeah that’s most likely the case. And I’d definitely suggest finding like, a good pair of comfortable boots. This world doesn’t exactly have sneakers f

[F22 | Omni-crafter] Sentinel Armaments (Open)
Luke Pendragon replied to Wulfrin's topic in Merchants and Shops
Luke wandered through the market until he happened upon a store he'd heard great reviews for. He walked up to Wulfrin and said, "heya! I'd like to order a Sword with the Damage 3 enchant. Some heavy armor with Mitigation 3, and a trinket with Accuracy 3. I uh... I sketched kind of what I want them to look like." Slayer's Greatsword A large steel-colored blade that looks heavy enough to need two hands to carry it. Its edge is shinier than the rest of the weapon. Enchantment: Damage 3 Slayer's Armor A large steel-colored set of plate armor that looks like it weighs a ton. -
[PP-PT-F11] Trees and Ants and Trees Oh My (Grind thread)
Mari replied to Reytac's topic in Intermediate Floors
Mari was leaning against a tree outside the safe zone by Taft. She half expected Reytac to be waiting on her, but it seemed to be the other way around. Surprising...really, considering she had to climb a flight of stairs to get to their destination and all he needed to do was scream out a cities name, and he was instantly whisked away. By Mari's feet sat a crate of potions, one of them already missing, cracked open and drunk by the woman to give herself the slight boost in damage she'd need to be able to wipe out swarms of enemies with a single strike. The woman wasn't sure how long she'd -
Alinta jumped when she felt something brush against her shoulder, a quick step forward and a turn on her heel - but...She exhaled seeing Scar behind her. Did she somehow manage to pass him? "Scar!" The exclamation came out in almost a squeal as she saw him, her face brightened. It was so nice to see him again. Having him message her was one thing, but seeing him here in the flesh...another. "You messaged me!" Alinta said as she clasped her hands together. "I mean...after last time. I wasn't sure...but - Oh! It's good to see you again. What have you been up to?" She stepped closer to him, picki

Without a doubt, Jack understood that Alinta was moving a little bit farther than she normally would. The message came in so quickly, one after another, that they showed her indecision and discomfort, and he could not refrain from feeling a sudden desire to protect her. With such a motive Jack was the last person to abandon her out there, even for a moment. He had invited her out under the guise of a rumor, a pretext for this low-key date, but seeing her nervousness reminded him how much she valued safety. He didn't want her to feel abandoned out here, not even for a moment. Without wasti

As Jack's fingers were busy rummaging through his hair and her heart was beating against his chest, she could not hold back her smile. "Addicted, are you?" he murmured, his voice a low drawl meant only for her, teasing, intimate. "I warned you.. I don't think anyone survives this without a few.. complications." The touch of his hand on her waist was so light that he could have done it without her noticing, yet it had the desired impact of making her heartbeat to quicken. As the tune changed, the sensual low undertone seemed to correspond with the tempo of their bodies. Jack used the chang

Alinta was sitting in the small room, naught but a bed, dresser, mirror, and an adjoined bathroom/shower combo. All basic needs covered, nothing more. Nothing less. She was sitting on her windowsill, people watching. Something she usually did often in the evenings. Too scared to go out and enjoy the festivities of what little nightlife the Town of Beginnings offered. Too shy to approach a friendly face. It'd be nice...if she could reach out to a few more people but there were only two on her friendlist. Oscar, and Scar. The last time she had seen Scar she had dragged him across a desert

The message was very brief, almost like a casual one, it was just enough to stir one's interest, but was too vague to be taken seriously. Scar --> Alinta: I heard a rumor about something unusual in the grasslands near Tolbana. Thought you might want to take a look. Obviously, there was no rumor. No hiding, no rare monsters. It was just an excuse, a pretext to get her out here. To get her to meet him. He didn't need a quest to spend time with her, but the world of Aincrad was full of pretexts, little pushes, and excuses that sounded plausible. Jack stood at the edge of the gen

Their lips stayed pressed together, and that single terrifying moment between one heartbeat and the next felt like an eternity. Would he pull away? Deny her this fleeting passion? Was her yearning for another too strong? Did she read him right? They barely knew each other, this was not something she would have ever expected to do - it was a spur of the moment decision. That flicker of passion fueled by an undeniable magnetism. Then...he returned her kiss. Slow, delicate, his lips moved against hers and Alinta couldn't help but tighten the grip on his back to still her trembling form. A tilt of

Her lips found his, hesitant, unsure, and it was the doubt that made it risky. For a heartbeat, Jack didn't move. The world stilled around them, the faint hum of the crowd fading beneath the pulse of the music and the warmth of her mouth. Then, slow as silk sliding over skin, he returned the kiss. Not hungrily, not urgently, but deliberately. A marking, a query, and a reply all at once. His lips finally leaving hers, he still looked at her. A very slight smile appeared on his mouth, the kind of smile that both hinted at trouble and at fun. "You should be careful with words like that," he

All she could do was nod and hum in reply, her mind was still in shock, she could think the words she wanted to say, but every time she tried to open her mouth.... nothing. She followed behind him, more closely this time. Her entire body felt heavy, weighed down by some unnatural force. Soon enough they came back to the wretched crossing that brought them into the witches domain. The air changed, it was thicker, more eerie now than before. She tensed again with what little strength she had. Eyes on alert, not just for herself, but also for her partner. In time the green haired woman

[F30-PP] In a land of edibles, what is a fish? {Jacob's Ladder}
Reytac replied to Hirru's topic in Intermediate Floors
Reytac exhaled softly, staring at the message again to make sure that it was real, and he wasn’t hallucinating. He sucked in a deep breath, and nodded. It was real, his guild was descending on -, or, ascending on, the thirtieth floor, to explore it and learn more about what was the new front line. The closest he had been so far was, admittedly, the unhinged, disturbing twenty ninth floor, but that particular experience was one he tried not to think about if he could help it, aside from his newfound friendship with Teion. This, then, would be his chance to actually meet more of his actu -
"Think it's because we took that Quest?" Sin scooped up another sword as she mused, smiling as a small little chime rang in her ears as she cleared the quest objective. Turning back to Reytac, she crossed her arms over her chest. "Not that I'm complaining. It'd be a hell of a job roughing it in stripper heels." Honestly, the whole thing had gone smoother than she had expected after dealing with Drax's unfortunate existence. Though, she wasn't so delusional as to think it would always be this way. She was certain Aincrad had some really challenging quests to throw her way. After all this t

Floor 30 What can be said about a floor of food and consumables? There would be no words to describe it without going at length to speak on the absurdity of it all. Though, as the hunter stood there in the teleportation plaza of the 30th floor, he felt like he would not like what this floor would bring to him. The central town, Waveside, was settled upon the high seas, or as they were called on this floor, the Iridescent Sea. For the first hour of coming here, Hirru couldn't understand what everything was. There were boats and houses made of wood, but the wood had a heavy scent of sm

After making sure that Sinnamon was steady on her feet, Reytac joined her in looking around the area and narrowed his eyes in frustration. It was definitely more heavily populated with items than when he had come through here last, to find items for being a Forager or even when he had done the quest for First Lessons. He reached up and pinched the bridge of his nose and exhaled forcefully before giving a light shrug and walking over towards a different item and picked it up. This one was one of the ones that was more like a pane, a large flat chunk. It could either, maybe, be a shield, or a ch

"You'll find the body remembers things the mind pretends to forget." A small panic at that comment, then a smile, a challenge. "Oh?" Alinta asked. "Why? Are you going to do things to my body?" As the words fell from her lips Alinta immediately inwardly cringed. Such a line would flow so well on paper, but saying it aloud? It was a little bold...wasn't it? The moment passed as quickly as it had come, and with them on the dance floor her sudden burst of overconfidence was swept away. Alinta wasn't a good dancer, but she could dance. Not winning any awards but being able to keep in pace
