Soon enough, the unlikely trio finally makes their way to the top. While the two boy seemed to perfectly fine, or at least close to it, Kaya on the other hand, laid flat on the ground, huffing and puffy as if she just ran a marathon. "We better break this rock, I swear." She said softly under a whisper as she stared up to the sky. The sky seemed closer than it was when they first left. "Right so let's get started?" She said as she flicked her fingers in the air and quickly unequipped her basic of basic two handed scythe. As soon as she finishes, she jumps up to her two feet. As she waited for the other two, she starts moving around like a boxer, swinging her fist left and right. You'd think she knows what she's doing - she doesn't. A gleeful grin broke from her mouth, she was excited since she's never done this quest before in her entire career of this game - which really doesn't amount to much.
-
"W-where?" She questioned the stranger with confusion in her head. "I heard it from a woman clad in black." Kaya wasn't entirely sure where the rumor start, but she heard the rumor from a woman wearing all black. She wasn't wearing anything that stood out or noticeable since she wore a black cloak that mostly covered her face. "I met her in the town just south of here." Her words were panicked. She wasn't sure what the stranger would do. If he had wanted to, he can kill her in the spot with just one swing of his spear. Trembling in fear, she back off some more, until the stranger turned around. "I found him?!" She thought as she becomes overcome with relief. "But... the item... isn't real..." The rumors where just rumors all along, nothing more. As the alchemist walked back to his caravan, Kaya stood there. Her eyes looking down at the ground, sad and depressed. "All that searching... just to find a false lead..." She fell to her knees and began to cry. She wasn't escaping this death game so easily. All of a sudden, a window pops up in front of her. "A party invite? From... Rain... Is that the alchemist's name?" As she clicked yes, she looks up to find the wanderer standing there.
-
Kaya's heart began to pump even faster. She almost died there, to a wolf nonetheless and now, this stranger is threatening to kill her on the spot. "I-I..." Kaya tried to speak but fear just took too much out of her. She gritted her teeth as forced words out of her mouth, in hopes that it's enough. "I-I'm looking for the w-wandering alc-chemit." She says with a -clearly- fake smile. "I heard he has an item that lets you log out and that you're the only one who can make it." Kaya backed off slowly hoping he wouldn't inch closer. The stranger didn't have an orange status so there was no way he could kill her.... right? As she walked back farther from the tip of his spear, Kaya slow raised her hands. "Look I don't mean any trouble... I just wanna leave this place already... I'm desperate." There was no more holding back now. Kaya spoke with determination. No more fear of what's to come.
-
"T-thanks..." Kaya was thrown offguard. Her eyes filled with confusion and worry. Just who was this stranger who came to save her. Could he be the Alchemist she was in search for? Before she could say anything else, the stranger handed her a crystal as she held on to it it shattered and instantly healed her back to full health. "W-who are y-" Before she could finish her sentence, the wolf came at her one more time. It's eye fierce with determination, it flashed it's teeth at the redhead. Unfortunately, Kaya this time, dodged the creature's attacks. Trying to follow up, Kaya, gripped her scythe tightly as she swung it once more, only this time, missing by a small margin. Determined now to win with the help of this snow haired stranger, Kaya glares at the wolf. Both trying to eye each other down. One of them was leaving this fight in crystal, and Kaya didn't want to be that person.

"Well... I Thought we could've gotten a couple of materials from that thing, but I guess not." Unsatisfied with the loot, Kaya, went back to searching the area. After a few more minutes, she finds some thyme, growing just off in the distance. Excited, she runs towards the loot. She finally found something after all this looking around and she wasn't going to let anyone get their hands on it. As she got closer, she doesn't notice a rock just ahead of her. Before she knew, she was flying through the air and right at the piece of material she was looking for. As she slowly stood up from her little accident, she realizes that she had accidentally crushed the material. Falling quickly into despair, she falls to the ground on her knees. Her hands kept her body somewhat upright as she looked to the ground. Of all the things to happen in that moment, that was probably the worst of it.

"That you do, nana, that you do." She says as she clenches her finger around her scythe once more. She circled the beast as it frolicked about. In the midst of it's rage, it charged at Martha. Unfortunately for the creature, Martha is must more nimble than she looks. In the last moment, she dodged the creature's tusk. As it ran past her, Kaya took the opportunity and swung her weapon upwards to the sky, cutting clean through the body of the creature. It squealed in agony as now, Kaya, eyed her prey with a sinister grin about her face. Although only a lowly boar, these fights always seemed to get her excited. "The last hit's yours, nana." She says as she now tried to keep the boar's attention. It's piercing eyes glared at the red head. It's front hoofs scuffed the ground as it prepared for one last charge.

"Oooohhh!!! You're here to help with the quest?!?!?!?! Awesome!" Kaya's face lit up as she smashed her fist into the palm of her hand. She was sure for a moment that he had ill intent and wanted to kill her, until he mentioned that he's here for her. That said, she begins slapping him on the shoulders acting cheerfully and so carefree. "You had me going there for a sec, ahahahaha." Her were eyes closed from the overwhelming laughter. A few moments go by and she finally calms down. "Perfect so that's 3 people. I think that's enough, don't you think so, Pixel?" She looked to Pixel since she was the closest friend she's had here - even though they're just newly friends. "Right... So we're looking for a snow ferret in the forest north of here... uh... what's your name again?" She says looking at the orange statused stranger dumbfounded.
-
The crisps sound of footsteps in the snow echoed throughout the forest, as we find Kaya, trudging through the snow, heading north towards what was said to be the store of a Master Alchemist. He was known as one of the Drug Lords of Aincrad, the Alchemists reigning over most of the potions and crystals in circulation today. There were rumors that Rain, the 2nd of all the Lords is staying here in a shop surrounded by snow, away from everyone. It was said that he was a loner, of times found by himself doing things himself. There's has been a rumor circulating that Rain has found a way to concoct a crystal that when broken can log you out of this game. Wanting to get one for herself, Kaya, sought out the Wandering Alchemist for his crystal.
After minutes of walking, the air began to freeze more. As she kept on forward, the wind became more wild. "I must be going the right way," she thought. Freezing, Kaya still pressed forward, until she sees a small little caravan just past the forest treeline. "That must be it," she thought. She began walking towards. Suddenly, a white wolf came out of nowhere and stood between her and the caravan. "[censored]..." She thought as she unsheathed her weapon. "There's no turning back, I need to get out of this game!" Desperate, she rushes the wolf.
"RRaaaaahhhhh!!!" Kaya yells as she swings he large scythe at the beast. As it inched closer, the blade suck deeper and deeper into the beast eventually, knocking it back slightly. Unfortunately for Kaya, the beast also manage to scratch her with it's claws. "Damnit..." She says as she falls to her knees.

"Nope, guess that means we're walking. I'm Kaya, by the way." She let out a slight grin. She was still shy, but maybe one day she could be more herself around these people.
As they walked up the path going up to the quest, kaya kept her head on a swivel. Her large scythe in hand, she was ready for anything that jumped out. Ready to react and maybe run away. Fight... mmm not so much. She's still only a lowly level 1 player so there is a large chance for her to dying. As they got closer to the place, the road became steeper and steeper. Eventually, it became a real struggle just to get up one step. "Who's idea was it to put the start of this quest on top a of a mountain?!?!?!" Kaya thought to herself as she trudged along the path. It was as tough as what pinball had said. "This better be worth the hike." She muttered to herself.
-
"So that's a yes?!" Kaya's face lit up. She wasn't really sure if he'd accept, but to her surprise, he did.....probably. Not giving him anymore chances to talk, she quickly grabs on to the strangers hands and dragged him out of the cafe heading straight to the fields of the first floor.
"Right... So where to from here?" She questioned the stranger as she kept moving from place to place. Looking high sand low for something that could resemble ingredients. It didn't take long for the red-maned girl to find something. "Ooooh! What's this?" Holding up a green leaf to the sky, she waves her other hand to the stranger. I found something already!" Her face lit up like the sun in the sky. She quickly stores, the mint leaf in her inventory. Soon after, she looks back to the stranger and gives him a big grin and a peace along with it to boot. "Hhehehe..."

It wasn't before long, when a stranger walks up to Kaya asking if she was alright. It wasn't just some normal stranger to might I add. He was charming the way he went about things, almost like a prince out of a story book. "I-I'm fine." It was odd, but Kaya's face turn red. She was blushing, but what for? She's into girls. If anything it was just more on the situation than it was the stranger himself. Looking at the ground, away from the ginger maned stranger. She shy away from looking at his face and directly into his eyes. "I just slipped a little bit is all." Kaya muscled up a little bit of confidence to shrug of the accident. I mean, by now, she's used to it. She trips and falls on her face, a lot. It's surprising how her face hasn't gotten messed up after all of it. "T-thanks for the concern." Still shying away from the facing the stranger, she muscled up more words once more to at least thank the guy. As she looked away she spots some delicious looking cotton candy. Within seconds, her face lit up. She wanted some.
-
"I'm more worried about you than you are of me, nana." With a bright smile on her face, Kaya gripped her scythe tighter as she charged the boar the Martha pointed out. Once close enough, Kaya leaped into the air and swinging her large scythe, unfortunately, she loses her balance and falls directly on the boar, who just tosses her to the side as if she was nothing more than a sack of potatoes. "Ow ow ow.." She says as she slow gets up from her little landing site. "Did not really expect that at all. Hey nana, a little help here?" She looks over to the elderly woman. She had some fairly high hopes in her ability based on all the talking she's done, but a part of Kaya was still skeptical. she was after all an elderly person and their body isn't as what it used to be.

As Kaya tried listen to the player talking to her, she kind lost track of what he was really saying. She had a face as if in awe of something, but really, she has no clue what he was talking about. As he kept talking some more, Kaya added little nods as if understanding what he was really saying. "Soooo.... I just go out there and kill stuff or maybe find it on the ground. Got it!" With those last words, she gave the stranger a thumbs up with a gleeful smile and began marching right out the door. Before she could step outside however, she realized just how weak she is. Turning to the stranger, "You think you could help me collect ingredients?" The guy had no real reason to help the red head, but she had hoped that he would help. Her eyes looked hopeful, but it slowly grew some more, eventually turning into a puppy stare. "Pweeeeaaassee."
-
Chowing down on the grub that sat before her, Kaya hears comments just from a few feet away. "Buh I welly waned iiihh." Her voice, muffled by the food stuffed in her mouth. It was very unladylike from far what she was taught, but she's been just feeling hungry. After finally pushing down the food and swallowing. "I really wanted it. I figured I'd ask straight from the source." She says before grabbing a few more bits. "I know there's no hunger bar, but don't you feel hungry? I haven't eaten all day cause I really wanted to play this game already." She kept talking with mouth full, but this time, her words are more comprehensible. After a quick gulp of water, she looks back at the stranger. "Also, it maybe a side quest but so long as there's food and money involved I'll happily do it." A silly smile plastered on her face, she was fully satisfied with the meal. "So how do you get materials anyways?"
-
Kaya quickly falls back on her bum as she wiped the dirt from her face "Aaahhh that hurts." Kaya softly told herself. It seems like everytime, she's always stumbling somewhere. It's a wonder how her face hasn't strengthened up from all the face-plants. After wiping up most of the dirt, she looks back to the direction of the purple-mained woman. "Heeeeeyy!" She exclaimed as she waved her hands trying to gain her attention. She picks herself up from the ground and unto her two feet. Slowly trudging through the forest jungle, making her way to the woman, "Heey! Do you know where we are?" Scythe hanging lose on her side, Kaya felt that she could trust this woman. "I'm kind of lost... okay really lost.. Could you help me?" her face looked that of desperation. As she waited for the the woman's reply, she kept her eyes on the lookout. This was of course a higher leveled floor so this was really dangerous for Kaya.

Kind of in awe about how Martha did things, Kaya kept glancing at Martha. How she's lasted this long in this god forsaken death game, she doesn't know. She didn't even accept Kaya's proposal to use her scythe as a walking stick. She's a tough old lady, she'll give her that, but walking out here without a weapon is kind of dangerous. As they continued the search for materials for the old man, Martha managed to find a mushroom. "Nice, nana! You found some!" Not only did Martha find 1, but she found a couple. Kaya, went ahead and collect one for herself too. With a quick swipe of her finger she stores it inventory. "Wanna try our with a boar as well?" Kaya looked to the elder woman. She wasn't really sure she was up for it, but she really wanted to see what this lady could do. Just what kind of weapon could she be using. She must've chosen at least one when she started the game.

"Hey! Pixel! What's up? Oh you're here for the quest? Awesome!" Kaya isn't normally this outgoing with people, but she's met Pixel once before and well... she's more comfortable around girls than she is with guys. That said, she looked around the area, not seeing anyone else, she just decided to go along with this party, "Um... I guess there's no one else..." Kaya then begins to flick her fingers in the air and quickly sent Pixel a party invite. "Alright let's get going I guess."
"Ahhhh you! I can see a partner in your future... You'll find her in the forest of north town." The gypsy began talking as soon as Kaya got near. "P-p-partner?" Kaya's face turned red, flushed from that the she could finally find her one. The NPC was talking a familiar and Kaya knew that... until the gypsy said something about a partner. "Uh.. I don't think I'm ready for that yet.." Face still flushed, she looked down and away from the NPC. Her body closed off as she crossed her arm around her. "I-I... Uh..." "She'll be fierce with a fur white as snow." "Oh..." In that moment, Kaya falls to the ground on her knees all depressed. She quickly accepts the quest from the quest window that popped up. Then she slowly raises her head, trying to push a smile on her face. "R-right... let's go." There's been many moments Kaya isn't really proud off, that moment was... definitely up there.
Soon after, the duo finds themselves at the northern gate town. Just right outside they quickly spot an orange player.. "Crap... why's he waiting there. Is he here to kill us?!" Kaya panicked internally.

Help Wanted!!
LF help with Feeding the Enemy! I'll be waiting at SnowFrost Town.
-Kaya"Sent I hope someone does reply." Kaya thought as she sat on a bench. Right across, is a gypsy woman, who supposedly gives the Feeding the Enemy quest, standing, and waiting for someone. Kaya wanted to talk to her already, but this is the 4th floor. She's only a lowly level 1 noob, but she really wanted a familiar. A snow ferret to be exact. She had heard that they gave buffs to the player and they're really useful. Not only are they useful, they're super cute. So she had to have one.
As she sat there, she kept swinging her feet. She was getting impatient. It's only been just a few minutes, but she was getting antsy. "Come on... Someone's gonna show up." A few more moments later, she stands up from her bench and begins to walk back and forth in a pacing manner. As she paced, snow began to lightly fall from the sky. This was completely normal to this floor, but this wasn't something Kaya was used to. I mean England was cold, yeah, but here she didn't really have any warm clothing. That said, she wrapped her arms around herself. "Grah... why does it have to be so cold." Rhetorical question. This was to be expect. It is the snow 4th floor after all. This was common knowledge. "It's okay, once I get moving, I'll warm up."
-
Kaya, just let the old woman, babble on whatever she was babbling on about. She wasn't really focused on what she was saying. She was more focused on her walking. She was slow, and she seemed to have a hard time keeping up, even as Kaya already slowed down her pace. "A walking stick should work!" She thought, unfortunately, she didn't have anything like that. The only close thing she has is her scythe. With a quick swipe of her fingers, she takes our her large two-handed battle scythe. "I know it's a bit unconventional, but why do you try walking with this thing around, nana?" As she turns around to give Martha the large weapon, she realizes that Martha was getting annoyed at the fact that she wasn't listen. But more specifically she call Kaya, "Daniella." "Uh... Nana, it's Kaya..." She said somewhat softly as if somewhat embarrassed. "Anyways, here. Try using this for now as a walking stick. We'll be almost to the fields soon." Kaya says as she spots the Northern Gate.
Once they leave the gate, Kaya began to scour around the place, looking for any materials the NPC wanted. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything near the gate.

As the purple head began talking to Kaya, it soothed her a bit. It really cause of her voice or anything really. It was more of the fact that she was a girl. Being around boys, she's usually nervous, but when it came to girls, it was a different story. It was probably cause it was usually her mother that cared for her... or the maids. Either that, or the fact that she's into girls. Giving Pixel a quick measure, Kaya realized that she was under-aged. Without anymore delays, she gave Pixel a pleasant smile. "Oh this? It's nothing. It's the only one I found. Yours is cute!" She says as she takes a closer look at her bikini. Then comparing Pixel's to herself, Kaya starts to feel her bosom. "It looks like you're having the same problem I have. It's too small. Am I right? I gotta find a better one that fits. Where'd you get yours?"
-
"Almost half way there!" She thought. As she once again swung her large scythe she let out another yell. Just as it's about to sink once more into the boar, the beast dodges at the very last second. Still unfortunate for the creature, Kaya once again dodged the boar's attack. "Damn this is hard by yourself." She thought as she now stared down the creature. "And I'm out of energy too." She thought as kept thinking on what to do next. A drop of sweat fell from her forehead as she tightly held her scythe. Her had a look of worry. She doesn't know what to do next. Yet she can't just run. She's desperate for ingredients. She needed this. Of course it would've been easier if she just stuck to normal noncombat gathering, but that's just plain boring. It was only until this moment, that Kaya realized that she could maybe die from just a boar. She didn't want to be like those before who died from boar. No, she was going out, she's going out with a bang. Gritting her teeth, she readied herself for the next bout.

As soon as Kaya arrive, she seemed to start getting people attention. Something, she's not normally fond of. At first it's was a girl purple who came up to check up on her. Then 2 guys came. Without anymore thinking, Kaya flips to her back and just lays there as she burst out laughing. "Falling on ones facing I guess is a great way to break the one." she thought as she laid there laughing the pain away. "Yep, I'm fine and dandy," She let down her guard and spoke in her native accent, English. After a few short moments, she slowly pulls herself up from the sand and dust herself. Looking at the three. she quickly bows, "Arigoto... T-Thanks." "I hope that was the right word..." She thought. Although foreign to this country, Kaya had learned a decent amount of the culture and last she remembered, bowing is common here. That said, she thought that in this situation, bowing makes sense. As she raises her head, she looks at the purple headed girl, "Hi, I'm K-" A slight grin broke her mouth, until she realized just how much attention she's taken. Within seconds, she breaks down from sheer nervousness and freezes in the middle of her introduction. Her eyes grew worried and scared. A tear almost fell from her eyes as it somewhat became watery. "K-k-kaah-" She stuttered as she tried letting out her name. She came to this even without even thinking just how many people would be here. She's only just arrived and she's already talking to 3 people and there's more just up ahead. Forcing herself, "I'm K-Kaya..." Her voice because distant ks it trailed off at the end of her name. Meeting new people was always something she's bad at.

As the two odd pair walked towards the elderly NPC, Martha seemed to have forgotten why they're even going to talk to the man. Confused, pondered for a little bit before finally speaking, "Uh... he's non-player character... a computer generated character... and he gives a quest, remember?" Kaya slowed down her pace to keep even with Martha. "That means he's not real, nana." As the reach the NPC, Martha urges Kaya to talk to him first. She gave it a bit of thought. If she liked him so much why didn't she talk to him first, but at the end of it all, she just gave in. "Umm... Okay."
"Ello, sir. I was told you needed help with something?" Kaya's voice came out in a strong English accent, normally, she tries to hide her accent, but being with Martha just made her too comfortable. "Perfect timing! Could you two go collect some ingredients for me from the fields? I need them for an order of potions I'm making and I seemed to have run out of those certain materials. About 10 should suffice - 5 from each of you." With those last words, the old man turned around and quickly got back into his work without even giving any chance for the two to breathe or even accept the quest. "Uh... right... so I guess the quest started?" Kaya was very confused. Normally, there would be some accept button and a window popping up, but this time... nothing. She quickly looks through her Quests Log and right there on the top is the quest. It apparently started already. "Right... Ready when you are, nana."

With a deep breathe and a quick nod of her head, Kaya took a few step forward through the portal. As she steps out, she's welcomed with a site to behold. Her mouth agape, she had the look of amazement. She's never been to these kinds of festivals before. Especially one in Japan where you get to wear these cute outfits. She took advantage of the opportunity to experience it. Atleast once before she either dies or escapes this death game. Completely dumbfounded by the festival, Kaya began to take a few steps forward. She wanted to jump right into the madness that was the Mid-Summer Fireworks Festival. Within moments, she looses her balance falls forward towards the ground. Everything suddenly moved slowly for her. "Is this it? Is this how I'll die? I haven't even gotten to..." She wondered as her face flew forward into the pavement. "Ow." It's becoming like thing now for Kaya to fall flat on her face and she's getting tired of it. It's really painful. She quickly picks herself up from the ground and brushes her face and clothes. "Oh god... that was... embarrassing. I hope no one saw." She though as she began to briskly walk forward, acting like nothing even happened.

Another sound came echoing from the side. It was a man's voice, one she's never heard of - probably. She looks to see who it was and instantly gave her attention back to the purple hair. She seemed a lot more interesting than the guy who seemed to creep out of nowhere. Watching her, she opened her map and point Kaya to the direction she needed to go. Just like that, no more words. "That's it?" She thought as he face shown disappointment. She wanted to mess around with the woman or at least get to know her a bit, but nothing. Trying to break the ice some more. She walks closer to the woman until she's right beside her, looking at where she's looking. "Sssoooooooooooooo...." She paused for a little before she continued "Whatcha doooiiinnggg?" Kaya was genuinely curious why she's all the way out here, in the middle of nowhere.
