    Apologies for the delay

    Morgenstern and Hestia are out of the fight.  Posts can be made in the 'Tainted Prestige thread' but cannot see nor interact with other players.  Their avatars can observe the T3 fight, and events in Tainted Prestige thread.

     

    Artamiel felt Macradon's attack.  His words were mere annoyance, but what really spurred on it's rage, was the holy enhancement itself.  It wasn't pure holy and divine power, humanity could never duplicate it.  However it had enough divine purity in it to burn Artamiel.  Where Macradon cut the fallen angel there would be a bright light and the sound of singing surface.  Artamiel roared with hatred, ignoring the attacks from the other players.  Ignoring the fact that it was almost out of health.  Artamiel let out a blast of power, sending it's shadows in every direction.  It's anger focused it's attacks, honing in and ensuring it hit every single player in the vicinity.  When it struck everyone, it was pleased to see players entering the orange health zone.  And it was additionally pleased to see that certain players were taking this far more seriously.  As it should be it thought to itself.  Artamiel roared.  "Your Arrogance, is your DOWNFALL."  Artamiel sent a blast of power at the entire party.  Striking hard at them all, bringing two of them into the red.  It sent it's shadows in particularly towards Morgenstern and Hestia.  It held Morgenstern up, choking him slowly.  "You.  You allowed yourself to drown in hatred.  To collapse under the weight of grief.  You can't handle your failures and you never will.  will always fail.  But don't worry, I'll help you out.  Let me ensure you'll never make another one again.  Now die!"  It growled as his body shattered.  Morgenstern's soul was seen sucked into Artamiel's shadowy form.  The player's perspective in a state of death, watching the rest of the fight.  Artamiel turned to Hestia and sent it's shadows into her heart.  "And you.  I told you that would be the last time you helped anyone.  Of course, to my own amusement, you did.  Chose instead to save yourself.  Perhaps if you aided your friends you could have saved yourself as well.  Now.  Perish, and be forgotten."  and just like that, Hestia would shatter.  Her soul being absorbed into Artamiel's shadowy form as well.

    Flames of the Damned - On a critical hit, Artamiel applies the <<Flames of the Damned>> status effect that deals 60 points of damage for two turns.  Can't be activated with his attack Revenge or Destruction of Gaea.  Deals 90 additional damage on critical hits.
    Creature of Sins - For every player who has killed another player, Artamiel gains 30 damage.  +120 damage  (Seul, Calrex, Macradon, Zandra)
    Ethereal Form - Artamiel is immune to stun sword arts, Thorns effects (any effect that deals damage to Artamiel upon him dealing a physical attack), and all status effects.
    Soul Stealer - For every player Artamiel kills (or removes from combat after said player fails to post 3 times), it gains a Soul Orb.  These wispy blue orbs grant Artamiel +20 damage, 5 MIT and 10 HP regen per turn.  Killing a player with a familiar grants him two soul orbs, one of these being the familiar's.  (+80 dmg, 20 MIT, 40 HP regen)

    Fallen Creature - Artamiel is immune to all fallen effects.

    The players were starting to take this seriously.  Except for that Ruby individual.  He was going to ensure that-  Artamiel hesitated on it's attack.  What the hell?!  It didn't know how, but somehow the health of Ruby and Itzal, switched!  Did they have a hidden power amongst them?  Was there something else going on here?  It fell silent as it made it's guess.  That d*mn, almighty, caring-  It was God!  Protecting his 'sheep' and keeping them from perishing!  Well if the Lord wanted to bend the rules and break the system to protect his 'children' then the fallen angel would just have to work harder!  All of Artamiel's power surged with hatred and it rushed in to attack.  It's main focus being on Sheild and Ruby.  It had managed to strike the immovable Shield with ease, blasting away nearly half his health points with a single blow.  Ruby however, managed to avoid his powerful strike.  It felt like it was being held back, and nearly roared with hatred at God's intervention.  "Don't think that because God showed mercy on you this time girl, that you're safe.  I'll end you swiftly enough!"

    Artamiel was once again on the fence about this entire fight.  Half the players were realizing the danger they were in, and it relished in that fear and understanding.  Whereas the other half were still mocking Artamiel and it's power.  It watched as Calrex took out a potion, sending it to Hestia who drank it.  The fallen angel watched as the magical shield formed around her to shield her from the fallen angel's next attack.  It irritated it, to see players working together so quickly even after the destruction it had caused.  Then Hestia called out to it, telling the fallen angel why she helped others.  It of course made it furious that it was failing to break these players.  If anything it seemed the fallen angel was helping these players grow in friendship.  Was this why he was allowed to assault the earth?  Had God intended this from the beginning?  The thought infuriated the fallen angel beyond measure.  When Morgenstern taunted the fallen angel it just pushed him with enough force that would send most people flying.  "ENOUGH!"  It's shadows exploded outward.  However in his sheer hate he had failed to hit everyone.  At the same time, he memorized who he had missed and would get pay back soon enough.

    The fallen angel Focused in on Baldur and Macradon, but it was mostly Macradon.  It's shadows pierced, slashed, struck him, with a powerful amount of force.  "YOU WANT TO DIE SO BADLY?  BE MY GUEST!!!"  It would not stand for this.  The fallen angel had come here to corrupt this land.  To twist and distort it.  To let loose the hordes of hell across the landscape.  To ruin God's domain.  And yet he was just being used by God to help unite these people?  He wouldn't stand for it!

    Artamiel was very irritated with these players at this point.  Acting so high and mighty, powerful when they weren't.  The noise that Zandra sent Artamiel's way pushed it away a little bit, but that was all.  Artamiel no longer had a form the players could comprehend.  It was unaffected by their powers.  Their words and laughter were a nuisance at best.  Zandra was having everyone go on the offensive but from what it received Artamiel merely scoffed.  This was their best?  Pathetic.  The fallen angel created a wave of energy that silenced the entire field, getting the nuisance out of the way.  With that gone it turned to the player who tried to apply paralysis and bleed with his sword.  Artamiel simply scoffed as the electricity could find nothing to cling onto and simply vanished in the air.  The fallen angel didn't seem to notice the damage either.  "You think that little horn can do anything to me girl?  You think you mortals can inflict me with trifles?  You couldn't be more wrong."  Artamiel turned it's attention on Shield and Ruby and loomed over them.  "You like to think yourselves invincible do you?  The undying Shield and the uncaring Ruby.  Let me show you how vulnerable you truly are!"  it roared as it sent a wave of darkness over them.  When the shadows dispersed they'd stand there with a little under a hundred gashes across them and the damage dealt.

    The Fallen Angel turned to watch what the players would do.  As it expected they started by just rushing it, not bothering to talk with the creature at this point.  This of course was smart.  What wasn't smart, was when Macradon decided to join in on the mocking crowd, encouraging Shield to continue.  That, however, was the last straw.  The players were wise to heal each other and keep their friends alive.  Of course, that would only delay the inevitable.  Artamiel turned to @Hestia and laughed, it's voice shifting into an unearthly voice.  The voice belonged to neither man nor woman, but something else entirely.  One that was clearly understandable and precise, but at the same time sounded so alien, cold, dark, and terrifying to most individuals.  Even battle hardened warriors.  "You insist on putting yourself in further harm then?  Very well.  I'll teach you what happens when you disobey the commands of a superior being!!!"  It ignored Baldur's words, instead changing form another time.  This time, it became formlessAn entity of darkness and power.  At the same time, there was something about it's form.  If players would try taking the time to understand what it looked like, they would find it impossible, unable to comprehend it's new form.  It would be hard to follow with one's eyes as it seemed to be everywhere.  The world around them would have become pitch black if it weren't for the soft glittering light.  The Priest's blessing which still hung in the air.  Without it, they would be fighting blind.  A voice spoke up.  "I told you, there is no stopping me.  My power is beyond your comprehension.  I cannot be killed by pathetic mortals.  You only irritate me further.  I'm done playing games."

    Artamiel began a barrage that struck at every player in the area.  No one could escape it's reach, as it was everywhere at once.  It's shadows would attempt to throw the players into each other, across the field, forming into spears that would thrust through the players, hacking and cutting at them.  All of them received damage from Artamiel before it spoke again.  "As for you Hestia.  Perhaps I should show you what happens when you try to heal and protect your friends."  Just like that, Artamiel committed another assault on Hestia's entire party.  With Macradon and Baldur's irritating Safeguard out of the way, it was able to land it's attack on them.  Artamiel was through, and it was clear how powerful he was.  He was striking fast and hard.

    Artamiel looked at Shield, clearly done with the constant mocking of his power.  It's gaze burned into his eyes, to the point where Shield could even feel the heat of it's intensity.  It seemed to ignore Zandra's attack on it completely, just hovering there as the blade slid through it's non physical body.  "You'll soon stop challenging me boy.  However I won't use you as a demonstration."  Just then, the fallen angel sent a wave of power that forced every one of them down onto their knees.  It used it's dark tendril limbs to grab Shield's body, keeping him down but forcing his head up as Artamiel sent multiple tendrils through Zandra's body.  Her shoulder, torso, abdomen, legs and forehead.  All of them pierced as she was dealt four hundred and forty seven points of damage.  Afterwards it pinned her down into the ground and thrust her ax right beside her head.  "You think that because you see a health bar supposedly reaching it's final stage, that you are in the clear?  No.  This fight is only just beginning, and I will ensure you all die a slow and painful death.  I'll slaughter you all one by one until nothing but fear, terror and dismay remains."  It turned to Ruby who did nothing this time and grabbed her using telekinesis, holding her in the air.  "And you?  How much worth are you truly?  You do not show any care for others other than yourself and your now deceased mentor so why should they return the favor?  You're just a tool.  Someone to keep others healed and keep from dying.  Someone to utilize your damage to gain them victory.  Or can you not see that?"  And with that it tossed her back like a doll before directing it's attention over to the next party.

    Artamiel was really annoyed now.  There were players who actually ignored him at this point.  Even players who looked bored.  When @Baldur rushed up to Artamie to strike him, the fallen angel waited until he finished his sword art.  Then the fallen angel grabbed his blade, ignoring @Morgenstern and his attack.  As he stared into Baldur's eyes, it's form began to change.  It's skin began to become wispy, it's eyes began to change from a burning hell glow, to the pale glow of white.  Of death.  "I told you,"  it said as tendrils of shadow wrapped around his sword.  "I'm greater than a demon.  I am a fallen angel!"  Artamiel pushed Baldur back into a tree, shattering the structure in an instant.  It still held onto his sword and thrust it towards Baldur at high speeds, only for it to brush against his cheek.  He could feel the steel rub against him and cut his hair, but it would not cut him.  Artamiel then fully transformed into a humanoid being of shadow.  Immediately, a powerful blast pulsed from him that would strain to reach every player in the fight.  It created hundreds of tendrils that struck out at the players, striking nearly all of them and dealing many lethal blows, piercing every player through their shoulders, hearts and abdomens, slashing at them and knocking them back.  When it struck @Calrex it chuckled.  "Don't worry friend.  You'll learn what true fear is soon enough."  It shifted it's attention to @Hestia and narrowed it's eyes, sending twenty tendrils to her.  The result was a hyper and normal critical attack on her that cut harshly through her health.  "That will be the last time you tried helping anyone girl." 

    The fallen angel turned to @Macradon and Baldur and laughed.  "You all know nothing of power you fools.  I haven't even begun to fight back.  If you want death then keep mocking my strength.  None of you could ever survive seeing my true form.  I figure I'd torture you all here for a while before sending you into Hell.  However:  Keep pushing your luck.  See where it gets you all!"  It turned to the players, holding it's arms out to it's sides as the clouds in the skies became literally nothing but blackness.  It was like they were entering the void itself.  "Go on then!  ENTERTAIN ME!!"

    Once again the players went through the same pattern as before.  Divided into half, some players freaked out about what had happened, while others had remained calm and used logic to figure out what was happening.  Other players, such as Ruby, didn't seem to care and instead just snapped against it in anger towards what it had said.  It was...  Getting rather tiresome to reap the same response every time.  Thus it was getting angry, but it wouldn't go unentertained for long.  For it had a few more creative solutions to fix this problem.  The fallen angel turned to Shield when he called out to the other party, beating it's wings so the player's words could not reach @Morgenstern, deafened by the noise.  "Did I not say you have no permission to aid the other group?"  Artamiel slashed upward, cutting in deep from the man's ankle all the way to his forehead, dealing an incredible amount of damage to the man.  "While it may be true he's not dead, that will not remain so for long.  Observe:"  it said, as the players would see Beat and Seul's health bar slowly depleting over time.  It grabbed Shield and shoved his face into the ground.  "Shield was it?  What good is a shield when it breaks under the might of an unstoppable force?"  It then turned it's attention over to Zandra and Itzal, who both began trading necklaces.  This again?  It charged at them, grabbing them both and lifting them with itself into the air, glaring at the two.  "And you two.  Who gave you permission to interfere?!"  The fallen angel would throw them back, knocking the two into one another.  After that it would be hit by Ruby, but when it heard her words it simply laughed all the more.

    "You only continue to prove my point!  You don't give a d**n what happens to others!  No reaction from you!  Not from when I ripped the soul of him!"  it said, pointing to the black energy that covered the body of Seul.  "Nor to Him!"  it continued, pointing to the black energy that covered Beat.  "No emotion, no concern!  Instead, what bothers you?  My mentioning the death of Birdie.  Which the ironic things is that I DO KNOW!!!  I EXIST OUTSIDE OF SPACE AND TIME!!!"  Instantly, Ruby would feel a memory she did not have pop into the front of her mind.  The image of Birdie leaping off into the abyss, pain and tears in her eyes.  "She was SCARED.  She couldn't HANDLE it Ruby!  The hate, the pain, the torture.  Players forced to fight or die!  Players preying on the weak!  She lost faith in humanity and just cut out the middle man and took action!!!"  Artamiel grabbed Ruby by the throat and held her up, it's eyes glowing bright with power.  "You think you frighten me?  You think just by denying it, you can make it so?  Don't make me laugh again.  You're simply trying to cope with having lost your family, and you choose to blame everyone and everything around you except yourself.  You refuse to face the truth.  You don't care about anyone but yourself and those you like.  You're no better than the rest of them."  Artamiel threw Ruby down to the ground once again.  After the damage it dealt, and it's display of power and authority, hopefully it would start striking fear in the hearts of these players.  Otherwise it would need to kick things up a notch...

    Hearing Hestia try to rally the players together and confront their enemy despite what they just witnessed, the fallen angel simply smirked.  'They'll all be dead soon one way or another,'  it thought to itself.  The fallen angel could tell she was angered by what she had seen however, if her gripping her sword tightly was anything to go by.  At least it was making progress on her.  Perhaps it had hit a nerve after all.  That thought brought an arrogant smile to it's lips.  When Hestia promised Shield that they would get Beat back safe and sound after this was over, Artamiel chuckled darkly as he stroked the soul of Beat, it's light flickering for a second as it did so.  "Don't make promises you cannot keep girl."  It watched as Hestia moved over to Morgenstern, attempting to help the 'tank' up.  Artamiel snarled in annoyance.  Would they just back off and let him die like the dog he was?!  However it noticed something:  The player was already getting up before she had approached him.  Not only that but he was staring at Beat's soul before something Artamiel knew very very well showed in his eyes.  Hate.  Pure, unadulterated wrath.  The player roared his friend's name before rushing at the fallen angel and releasing a sword art of his, cursing Artamiel in his wrathful state.  The player was striking randomly, his attacks barely matching the sword art's pattern. 

    However, the fallen angel wasn't one to be trifled with.  It parried and blocked each blow with relative ease, and when Morgenstern leaped away and threatened it, Artamiel simply laughed loudly before him.  "You talk big, but you have yet to match it in results!  Do you plan to 'avenge' your fallen brother in arms?  Do you seek retribution?  Then do so!  Engulf the hate and become wrath itself.  Become those you hate so much!  I'll be pleased when I see you in hell!"  Just then it was struck by Baldur and his damage.  It cut deep but Artamiel didn't seem to be paying attention to the damage he was receiving anymore.  It simply turned to Baldur, it's smile replaced with a scowl as it glared at Baldur.  "Do NOT compare me to meaningless demons!  They can be replaced easily.  You humans quickly fill in their place.  Their power is NOTHING compared to one of my caliber!  However it pleases me to see your rage.  Why hold it back?"  When it heard Macradon's words, it did something that the player probably didn't expect.  It laughed hard and loud.  "Is that so?  Then you did try to save them?  That just means that you FAILED.  Just like you failed to keep your guild intact!  What accomplishments do you have that you can put your name to?  Something that you, and you alone are known for?  As for myself." 

    Artamiel flew into the air, a dark aura growing as the air chilled once again.  "Why would I need to use you petty mortals to stoke my ego?  You can't kill me, only irritate me further.  Now!"  Artamiel would activate it's attack, a blast of energy shooting at the players and draining the strength of Hestia, Morgenstern, Calrex, and Baldur.  Their health and strength pouring out like read streams of energy that siphoned into it, healing it for one hundred points of health and forcing the players hit to their knees.  The cold feeling covering them like a blanket having had their life and strength drained out.  "If I'm wrong dear Macradon, how about you stop me from attacking your friends?  Can you not do it?  Prove your words to be true or perish like the others!"

    Beat is no longer participating in the Boss Raid

     

    Artamiel was annoyed that no one even blinked an eye when he ripped Seul's soul from his body.  If the answer to that was that no one gave a d**n about him then they were heartless, which it didn't mind at all.  At any rate, his ability was now working and gave him power by using Seul's soul, as it would with any soul from now on.  The fallen angel was also displeased to see that many of the players had regained their composure, and were now focusing on strategizing and working together.  Zandra even told them to work together and unite.  Before it could do anything however he watched as @Shield hurried over to @Morgenstern's side and attempted to help him to his feet, while at the same time give him a pep talk.  Artamiel narrowed it's eyes and held it's hand out, using a sort of telekinesis to throw Shield back over to his own party, and in fact landing him before Beat.  "Did I say you could help another?  He sees and acknowledges the truth Shield.  Everything he has done and attempted has only ruined the lives of others.  Giving up and dying on his knees would be the best course of action for him!"  He then shot forward and thrust his hand into Beat's chest, Shield having full view of this action.  "Let this be a reminder of who is truly in charge of this fight!"  it said as a dark energy grew around Beat.  Artamiel pulled it's hand out, holding a soft blue soul in it's hand before tossing Beat's capsulized body to the edge of the arena, let go of the soul, and allowed it to join Seul's own as it hovered around Artamiel.  Both souls clearly giving it their energy.

    Artamiel then slashed at Shield multiple times, dealing decent damage due to his power and the player's thorns, as well as igniting it in the flames it had bathed Itzal in.  But Shield wasn't it's true target.  Artamiel grinned at Shield.  "You seek to protect others, but I will show you how futile that wish is!"  The fallen angel let out it's wrath, lashing at the other players.  It was struck by them however, first by Zandra, then Ruby, and finally Itzal.  It's eyes glared at the healer who dared switch to playing offense.  It thrust it's blade into her heart, the blade covered in a blue flame, dealing massive damage to her as retribution.  It then spoke softly for only her to hear.  "How heartless are you?  How heartless can you be?  Knowing that others struggle around you, that others seek to help their comrades in some way.  Yet you stand there and do nothing.  How heartless could you be?  Seeing Seul be mercilessly killed like that and yet have no reaction?  Why do you think your mentor committed suicide?  All she saw was hate, no one who cared.  She'd be ashamed of you right now.  Would you really try to save Birdie?  But not try to save anyone else here from their own crippling depression?  From their own demons?"  It pulled it's blade out, slicing the blade up her neck and chin in the process before it flew away laughing.

     

    Note:  Players who have been removed from combat (like @Seul & @Beat) can post in Tainted Prestige.  How this will work is players posting in Tainted Prestige must post from the perspective of their 'souls'.  They are not actually in the courtyard.  Posting in that thread is to allow players to still 'interact' with the boss fight, but not interrupt it.  Players cannot be heard inside the soul sphere, and they cannot move the sphere themselves.  They are more or less passive observers.  Players cannot interact with other soul captured players either.

    Seul is no longer participating in the Boss Raid

     

    Artamiel watched as Hestia called out to Baldur and traded her necklace with him.  It knew what they were doing.  They were strategizing.  Prioritizing skills and strengths over weaknesses.  In this case:  Baldur given the ability to deal strong attacks quicker.  Artamiel dashed over to Hestia, his left hand reaching out for her like a dark specter.  It grabbed her by the shoulders and thrust the blade in it's hands through her abdomen.  "The weight of sin is quite the burden is it not?  You'd best get used to it, for you'll have to endure it for eternity in hell!"  It then pulled his blade out and threw Hestia over towards Seul, knocking the player over.  It flew over and slammed his foot down on the man, it's face and glowing eyes looming over him.  "You claim your former allies have lost their humanity by attacking me, and yet you stand there doing nothing.  Refusing to defend nor attack me.  You're content with letting everything burn.  What does that say about your own humanity?"  it asked.  It then shoved his clawed hand into the player's chest and tore out what would seem to be his soul.  A soft spherical light.  Seul would feel cold, as if he were in the middle of a void and Artamiel would give a cruel smirk.  "Since you weren't using this, I'll just take it for myself shall I?"  Artamiel laughed as it flew off while a black energy engulfed Seul, closing him off from the outside world.

    NOTE:  The effects of Seul are temporary only for this event.  He is perfectly fine IC.  Ability effects only applied in next post.

    Artamiel let go of the soul which began to orbit around him.  Players will notice how the soul seems to be emanating some form of energy and that it is being channeled into Artamiel.  The fallen angel received a few strikes from the players.  The first to land an assault against it was Calrex.  As Artamiel fought with the player he heard him taunt it and it's strength.  Artamiel's eyes narrowed with rage.  "Don't compare me to that runt.  He let mere humans weaken him and his power.  No true angel would ever be brought to such a low state.  What are you trying to do Calrex?"  It said,  "Prove that you don't need to protect everyone?  Prove that I'm not a threat like Rohk?  That no one will die like Azide did?  Or are you trying to convince yourself that your enemies won't be as strong so the fear of failure won't crawl up your spine?!"  with that Artamiel shoved Calrex back, but only after the damage was dealt to it.  Macradon was the second to rush up and attack and Artamiel had failed to block it.  However that didn't mean it wasn't going to do nothing to Macradon.  Artamiel grabbed Macradon's sword by the blade and pulled him closer before he could flee.  "You will stand, yes.  But you'd let others fall to their deaths now wouldn't you?  You did nothing to protect Manta and Ebony from Teayre now did you?  You just stood there and watched it happen.  Two people died by the hands of a frontliner.  One of your allies.  So yes you can stand.  Stand as long as you like.  The more you stand for yourself and focus only on clearing floor after floor after floor, the more you let people die at the hands of other humans."  After that it let go and let Macradon crawl back.  His next assailant was Baldur.  It had words for the samurai as well...  "Look at you, all full of hope.  I assume you had hope for Opal as well before you failed to save her in time.  How does it feel?  Knowing that you failed to save someone from the crushing weight of their own sin?"  After these assaults ended it noticed Morgenstern send the amulet he had picked up over to Macradon.  Artamiel paid it no mind.  They could strategize all they wanted, it made no difference to it.

    Artamiel now shifted his attention to the group on his it's left.  These players were annoying and pathetic.  If they thought these efforts would destroy him they had another thing coming.  It watched as Shield had his familiar pierce his skin with it's fangs, healing him a little as an add on to his battle healing.  The fallen angel watched as the tank called out to Artamiel in the form of a taunt.  Calling it out on the fact that he'd received much more punishment from them than Artamiel had been dealing itself.  That if his health was compared to their own, he was the one who should be worried.  Artamiel laughed loudly and arrogantly before it spoke.  "Pathetic!  You see a slight change in numbers and think you have the upper hand?  Wake up fool!"  The players then launched their attack.  Zandra struck him first, landing what would have been a powerful blow against it...  However it was not.  In fact, the fallen angel considered the strike nothing more than average.  It looked at her weapon and grinned.  "Water cannot kill water.  Just in that sense, using the powers of a fallen angel cannot harm a fallen angel, little girl.  You rely on a weapon to be strong, but when that's taken from you what else do you have?  Allies?  I'll just drag your friends with you on your journey to hell!"  After she struck, Itzal followed suit.  He turned to the scout in annoyance.  "Oh?  You think now that my defenses have dropped you'll be of some use?  Is that what you wish to be?  A tool for the frontliners?  To be useful?"  And finally, Beat struck it, the strong hit causing the fallen angel to be pushed back a bit, annoyance on it's face, claiming that he'd destroy it like everything else.

    "You think you all are killing me?  Far from it.  At best you pester me."  It threw his hands out and drained it's enemies of their life force.  It only received one point of health however, due to Shield's thorns but it had managed to drain Shield, Beat and Itzal of their life, finding Itzal and Beat to be the easier targets.  However, he noticed that their health didn't change.  Safeguard he knew.  "If you wish to anger me and die quickly so be it.  However, perhaps I should give you a taste of what hell feels like before I do?!"  Instantly both Itzal and Beat would be engulfed in flames.  This fire was a darker red and orange than typical fire was, and the players would be able to feel the heat on them.  The fires would only last on Beat for a few seconds however before an energy engulfed the flames and removed them.  The angel chuckled.  "Prepared I see.  However let's see how long you can keep that up shall we?  After all, those defenses of yours only last once.  I'd like to see you cut off my attacks again!"  The fallen angel was growing tired of this, but was holding itself back.  Just for a little.

    Artamiel watched as the players began pulling themselves together.  Hestia called out to Seul to make a decision about where he stood.  With Artamiel, the fallen angel?  Or with the players who fought against it?  Artamiel didn't care about such discussions and would focus on the fight.  It was clear to it that Seul was in shock right now so he'd deal with him later.  For now he would simply watch to see how they tried to recover.  He laughed at Hestia's orders, seeing her as nothing more than a child playing police officer.  When Artamiel heard Calrex talk about Tagas he turned to the player and scoffed.  "Tagas was weak.  He interacted with humans and they drained him of most of his power.  A pathetic excuse for his kind!"  He wasn't able to continue however as Macradon called out to him.  Stating that he would not be affected by such words, and would stand fast to his blood oath.  Artamiel received a solid hit from Macradon, causing him some annoyance, and turned to look at him.  Appearing as though he had been bit by a flea rather than a sword.  Before he could say anything however, Baldur also rushed in and landed an attack on Artamiel.  He was getting rather annoyed with them and tried to swing his sword at the player but he was too quick to evade it.  Fine then.  He'd just have to minimize their evasive abilities.

    He flew up higher, and raised his free hand.  As he did so the players would feel a strong chill come over them.  "Such a nuisance.  You players are like rats scurrying in every direction.  You don't seem capable of choosing a side.  You fight among yourselves, kill others to get your way, and then forget your mistakes like they never happened.  You all believe you can just move on but you can't."  A dark aura will surround Artamiel as a channel of dark energy exits from Zandra, Calrex, Macradon and Seul.  "And here is the proof!  Your sins!  Your crimes!  They only make me stronger!!!"  And with that, Zandra, Calrex and Macradon would all receive an orange cursor.  After that, a shockwave emanated from Artamiel which would impact Hestia and Morgenstern.  The two would feel their strength drained, watch as their health dropped.  This time red streams of energy would flow into Artamiel, raising his health a little bit.  However it would also drop due to Hestia's thorns, which added additional damage to her.  The chill would grow stronger, to the point where all players felt it for real.  To the point where their evasion was weakened.  "And with the stage set, I shall show you all who has the true power here..."

    Artamiel heard Shield call out to the others and only seemed more angered by his words.  Before she could speak up however, another voice overwhelmed his own.  Zandra's.  The woman had broken and went into a spiraling frenzy.  Launched into a berserker rage she launched at Artamiel and landed blows.  The angel tried her best to parry and block the attacks but the berserk player managed to get through such weak attempts with ease and managed to deal some damage.  Her fallen enhancement however, would not activate and thus her damage was not as lethal as it could be.  "I'm disappointed in you Zandra.  I thought you would-"  she was cut off as she now received yet another unexpected and unwelcome intrusion.  This time it was a small familiar that shot bolts of lightning at her.  She ended up blocking the assaults, not worried about getting hurt but, something else she was concerned about.  She was about to swipe it out of the air when Itzal struck her with his blade, causing her to grit her teeth.  Even more furious he ignored her altogether.  After that she heard Beat's words as he also struck her down.  "You blasphemous little-"

    "Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind."  Artamiel stopped dead in her tracks, horror on her face as she turned around to see the priest Zack standing on a small mound with his cross in hand, calling out to her.  "For "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech."  "Silence you-"  she roared but flinched as he continued.  "For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.  Peter 2:1, 2:22, and 2 Corinthians 11:13!  In the name of the one true God, Christ Jesus, I command you to silence!  End this facade, and reveal your true nature fallen angel!"  The instant the priest spoke the command, a massive shockwave would emit from the angel, knocking @Seul back with the others.  As he did, it would look as if Artamiel's armor, wings, skin and equipment were torn off of her, revealing not a kind and divine angel, but a corrupted one.  Dark gray with black robes and armor pieces.  It's wings dark as the void, metal gloves pointed like claws, and an eerie glow flowing out of it's armored pieces.  Under it's hood was a masculine like face, but.  At the same time it wasn't.  The fallen angel would land onto the ground, forced to it's knees by the very mention of Jesus' name.  The priest called out to the players.  "Do not listen to it's words!  For the Lord loves every man and woman ever born.  Jesus took on all our sins and died so that we may have eternal life.  No sin is unforgivable."  With that Zack quickly, and wisely, retreated back behind the courtyard gates.  For just as he did so, a massive cursed blade would launch at him and barely miss.

    Artamiel raised it's hand as the blade flies back to it.  The fallen angel quickly takes to the skies again, annoyance filling it's face.  "This would have been far easier if that priest had not interfered.  So be it then."  Artamiel shot like lightning towards Shield, thrusting his massive blade into the man's chest.  He received thorns damage but Shield also did in turn, resulting in a decent amount of damage against the powerful tank.  "I'll just have to make you bleed."

    Artamiel watched as the next party started with Macradon rushing forward and kneed Seul in the stomach, indirectly calling him a traitor and to stay out of the way.  She watched as everyone roared in unison to ignore Seul altogether and just attack Artamiel directly.  'Hm.  I guess the human is useless after all.  Hopefully that woman will listen to me and come to my aid.'  She watched as Macradon charged against her but wasn't able to continue or finish his assault due to a lack of energy.  Artamiel dove down to him, catching his blade with the handle of her spear.  "Did you really think you could do anything against me?  You're so distracted by what you call a 'traitor' you couldn't even attack me right!  Is it really a wonder why Dom was killed by Opal?  He had you to stand by him, fight beside him, but you couldn't even protect him from one player?"  She stopped when she heard Hestia giving out orders and turned to Seul in annoyance.  " @Seul you need to make some sort of action!  Don't just stand there and let them call you worthless!"  When Hestia began to call out to Zandra she shot over to the woman, her wings beating fiercely and creating enough noise to block out her words, thus preventing @Zandra from hearing them.  She swung her blade across Hestia's throat as if to silence her.  "I guess since your yelling orders at people you see yourself as the leader?  Pretty easy to order people around when you don't understand what true loss is.  Face the real world.  Then you can act like a leader,"  she said, pushing Hestia off her feet and onto her back in annoyance.  "You think you have a sob story like everyone else, but losing your father is nothing compared to what others have endured.  Stop acting like you're better than them."

    Suddenly she was interrupted by Calrex who lunged his attack on her from the side.  She was surprised by his attack and knocked back.  It would appear as if the attack had successfully stunned her, but she would move a few seconds later.  Her eyes narrowed on @Calrex"You can't stop me Calrex.  Just like how you couldn't stop Rohk from killing Azide.  You were helpless then and you're helpless now."  She thrust her spear forward, and even though the blade was several feet away from him, he would feel like she did hit him, tossing him back and applying the stun effect on him.  Baldur struck next and she grit her teeth in annoyance as she swung her blade at him.  However the nimble samurai had escaped her range.  She then heard @Morgenstern call her name and snapped her attention to him.  When she heard his words she glared at him.  "How would you understand?  You've fallen so low even Hell would never accept you!  Of course you're keeping up a good show.  You'd make Satan proud!"  When he shot forward in the attempt to attack her she simply spun her blade around, knocking him and his weapon into the ground.  She charged down and placed a heavy foot on him, staring down at him.  "Really?  You couldn't save your own apprentice.  You couldn't stop the murderers.  And you couldn't avenge him.  And you thought you could take on me?  Step off of your play throne boy, and face reality."

    Artamiel watched as the players began to slowly turn on each other, as she was expecting.  Right now everyone reacted to Seul's actions in a surprisingly calm manner, but she was expecting that to change quickly.  Especially when Seul acted.  However..  Even though they acted calm, she could see emotions boiling in a few of them.  The howling one was one of them.  In addition to this Zandra was breaking down.  However she wanted to see if Zandra would help her.  Hopefully her mind would clear up enough to side with her.  Before she could approach Zandra however, the player with a powerful swing rushed up at her first, landing a strong hit despite his damage being reduced even further.  Artamiel grit her teeth in reaction and tried to back up a bit.  When the attack finished she turned to Seul.  "You see?  They care not for your opinion.  Your reason.  All they seek is destruction and death.  They don't care about alternate possibilities.  How can individuals like them be forgiven?"  She saw the black cloaked player moving to Zandra and speaking to her.  She of course heard everything he said and her eyes narrowed towards him.  "To seek redemption, you must admit your sins and accept the consequences!  You must cleanse yourself with good deeds for face your fate!"  She called out before dashing forward.

    As she advanced, she and her spear glowed a brilliant light as she struck at them all.  Her first two attacks were aimed at Shield and Ruby, who just stood there the whole time angering the angel even further.  She slashed at Shield before thrusting her spear into him, dealing a critical hit on him.  Unfortunately she wasn't able to immobilize him.  So she moved quickly to Ruby and landed a critical hit on her too, slashing across her face and down to her left leg.  However she too wasn't immobilize.  She then moved her attack to Beat and attempted to strike him.  However he was nimble and managed to evade her swings.  "You players are infuriating!  You admit that you have sinned, you know you are guilty, and yet you dare speak of the Lord in that way?!"  She then shot over to Itzal and Zandra.  "You, do not interfere,"  she said as she knocked him aside with her spear.  He used his sword to block however, resulting in him receiving no damage from the attack.  She then turned to Zandra.  "If you wish to be free of your sins, you must first accept discipline."  She thrust her spear downward but it did not meet it's target.  Instead it landed beside Zandra, and the angel would hold a hand out to her.  "However I'm giving you a second chance.  Please, don't-"  Before she could finish the second party began to advance and she was forced to retreat.

    Artamiel grit her teeth as she was struck by Macradon, Baldur, and Calrex, taking the damage they dealt against her, Calrex telling her to pray to the Lord for forgiveness.  She swung her spear at him but he had already retreated.  She heard Morgenstern's muttering and turned to him, narrowing her eyes as she listened to his thoughts.  That's when Hestia spoke up.  Stating that they wouldn't listen to her words or play her games.  That they would stand together and kill her before she could kill any of them.  However, after Hestia's speech, she heard another voice call out to her.  She turned to look at Seul, who had her attention now.  She listened to him at how he had sinned, but didn't share the sentiments of his comrades.  How he would not turn his back and harm an ally due to fear or suspicion.  He then called the other players corrupt, which Artamiel was a bit surprised he'd react that way.  It was then he told her that he was going to side with her.  She hovered there, shocked and surprised as he stated this and stood between Artamiel and the players.  However she quickly overcame her shock and smiled, a gentle gratefulness in her eyes.  She drew close to the ground and placed a hand on his shoulder.  "Thank you Seul.  You may have committed sin, but you are willing to atone for it.  I thank you for choosing the right side."  She turned to look back at the players, specifically Hestia, and moved higher up into the air.  "United?  You humans will always fight one another and become divided.  You will always disagree with one another.  You are untrustworthy, greedy, fearful, envious, hateful."  She closed her eyes, a hint of disappointment on her face.  "However...  You admit to your sins.  Or at least most of you,"  she said glaring at the players who did nothing, or pressed the Sinless button.  "You think you are sinless?  You never once lied to anyone in your life?  You never manipulated others or events?  You never felt or acted out in anger towards anyone?  You always forgave everyone you've ever known?  Lies!  No one can be sinless save for the Lord!  It is he alone who cleanses the soul!  He alone who makes one sinless.  How DARE you pretend you are guiltless!" 

    With this, Artamiel launches her attack, spinning from one enemy to the next.  Her first few attacks landed hard and strong, slashing Morgenstern across the chest, Hestia across the face.  Her blade flashed with brilliant light as she reached Calrex whom she thrust her blade through him.  "I serve under the Lord.  It is you who must pray for forgiveness."  With this she moved back to stand beside Seul.

    Artamiel watched as the players took a moment to make a decision.  Zandra had spoken up first, defending the angel stating that Shield's arguments had little evidence to sustain such an accusation.  Shield argued back at her, disagreeing with her entirely.  Itzal backed Shield up.  Artamiel found it interesting how the players were quarreling right out at the beginning already.  Zandra shamefully admitted that she was sinful, making no action against Artamiel or the players.  Shield didn't click an option but after hearing his words, the sinful option was pressed automatically.  Up to this point the Angel had kept itself as expressionless and emotionless as possible.  However when Itzal began speaking scriptures, she grit her teeth, a flash of fear across her face that vanished instantly after it appeared.  If anyone had blinked, or didn't pay attention, they would have missed it for certain.  She didn't want the scriptures to be used against her...  Not ever.  She received a strong hit from both Ruby and Beat, and was really wishing she could deal more damage than she was, but she wasn't currently able to.  Ruby spoke up next, telling Zandra to not be ashamed and that was when Artamiel intervened, starting up her attack.  She started with Shield, thrusting her blade down at him, being deflected off by his shield.  No change with him.  She continued her attack, gracefully moving her spinning blade from one player to the other.  She had managed to land a hit on Beat, thrusting her blade through his armored shoulder.  Her last targets were Ruby and Zandra, spinning her blade to knock Ruby to the other side of the party and locking blades with Zandra, standing twice as tall as the woman and hovering over her.  Using her wings to block others from view.  When she spoke, only Zandra could hear her words.

    "Ah, but she doesn't know your sins now does she?  She doesn't know what crimes you've committed.  But I know Zandra.  I know exactly what you've done,"  she said.  Zandra would feel memories of her mistakes, crimes and failures tugged on, but not brought to the front of her mind.  As if her mind were reminding her of them, but not showing them.  "How could a sin like that be forgivable?  Not just the action, but the motivation?  However, you do regret your actions, so that is a small step.  You must decide however:  Who do you side with?  Humans who act out of greed?  Hatred?  Pride?  Spite?  They fight against each other every time.  You know I want to help, they forced me to face them!  Please, help me show them that I'm on their side!"  If any player makes an attempt to attack Artamiel she would retreat like lightning, returning to her place between parties hovering in the air.

    Artamiel watched the second party start with attacking the demons, and nodded.  She shifted her weapon back to a supporting position.  She closed her eyes and was about to restore the player's health and energy once again, but something was wrong.  She opened her eyes suddenly when she heard Hestia's howl, declaring war against Artamie.  "What?!  You too?  You were the logical one, how could you-"  She was cut off when Baldur and Macradon charged in at her and landed an attack.  She kept her spear in guard mode however, which managed to cut half of his attack off of her, but it also broke the barrier on her spear which gave it healing and defensive abilities.  She grit her teeth as she was pushed back by the shockwave of the barrier's destruction.  This shockwave sent the demons flying back into the portals they had come from, and knocked every single player off of their feet.  Artamiel however, did not fall over or crash into the church.  Instead she opened her wings to stop moving.  She looked at her spear, which had lost it's powers at this point and now was just an ordinary spear.  She looked at the players, betrayal and anger in her eyes.  "I come down from the heavens to provide a form of aid, and this is how you treat divine beings?  This is how you treat allies?  Thanks to you the demons were not purged!  They'll simply return with greater numbers at a later date!  This was our chance to force them to submit for good!  Are you all really that treacherous?!"  She tightened her grip on the spear, her eyes closing.  "...Fine then..."  She opened her eyes, anger filling them.

    "If you cannot tell friend from foe.  If you are corrupt like that then you are no better than any of those sinners!"  Artamiel shot over to Hestia, her speed hard to follow.  She began to attack her vigorously, her spear thrusting and spinning with speed and verocity.  "I may not be powerful in damage.  I wanted to heal the human's souls and bodies after all.  However I'll have to make do"  After her initial attack she backed off for a moment, seeming to have calmed down a bit.  "...However, it would be wrong of me to end you without giving you a second chance.  A chance to confess your sins.  The Lord demands such things after all.  So tell me players."  She looked them all in the eyes.  "Do you admit that you are guilty of sin?"

    The demons continued to surge forward.  These demons were bigger than the players with massive hands and claws.  Many of them having horns.  However there were also the demons who wielded large brutal and rusty blades who held a murderous look in their eyes.  The demons honed in on their targets, these being the player who drew them in with his cry, and the player who was dealing the most devastating damage to them.  They rushed over to Shield and attempted to bulldoze him onto the ground.  However, he proved to be too strong and unmoving.  It was as if they were charging a stone wall, not some man wearing armor.  Still, their massive claws and horns were able to push through his defenses more than the last time.  The first demon, which looked like some twisted combination of massive dog mixed with a bull then demonized, charged at Shield and thrust it's horns into his torso.  Then two other demons rushed in and hacked their claws at his shoulders, applying as much force as they could to him.  Yet even then all they could do was push him back a little bit.  This of course caused the demons to become enraged, and another demon was charging forward to help them.  but before they could do anything else, they were cut down by Zandra.  The horde watched this and changed their next attack to target her, rushing towards her to deal as much carnage as they could.  The first demon was able to get around her defenses and cleaved her body from the shoulder to her hip with it's rusty blade.  The second demon however couldn't get past Zandra's skills and defenses.

    Artamiel activated her healing aura, restoring any and all damage dealt to the players on either party, as well as restoring their energy a little bit.  She smiled as she did so.  However that was short lived, as Artamiel's eyes widened towards Shield who ordered Beat to attack her.  Her shock lasted for a minute before it shifted into frustration, her eyes narrowing.  "What are you doing?  I'm trying to help you all!  The horde is growing stronger with each passing wave!  I'm only trying to keep you all ali-"  Before she could finish, the players would see Artamiel's health drop a very tiny amount as they saw Beat attack her instead of the demon horde.  Her eyes widened before she flew from the first party to the second, her spear in a defensive position as if to shield herself from Beat.  "What are you thinking?!  Can you not tell enemy from ally?"

    The hordes of demons rushed towards their targets, but as usual the players were able to land their strikes first.  Hestia roared at the demonic horde.  Her words riled them up, motivating them to tear through these weak humans and claw their way into the church.  Roaring back, four demons rushed at Hestia, their long talons scraping past her armor.  One of them leaped onto her and sank it's teeth into her neck.  The four of them seeking to not only kill her but devour her.  Before they could inflict anymore damage, or even push her onto the ground through sheer numbers and strength, the other players managed to cut down the demons.  Successfully creating four twisted, monstrous corpses lying at Hestia's feet.  While this was happening, the demons watched as the other players cut down more of their kind before determining who the strongest one was, and charged after him.  Macradon being their target, the demons rushed forward.  This time however, these weren't as beast like as the rest of them.  While still wild and ruthless, these demons could wield blades themselves.  Each rushed at Macradon with chipped curved blades at the ready.  The demons roared as they slammed his sword out of their way, ignoring the blood that spilled out in the process, and slashed at him with their blades.  The demon who hadn't been cut up grabbed Macradon's neck and lifted him up, roaring as it held it's sword up to cut him down again.

    However, it never got that chance.  A powerful light exploded behind them that sent a shockwave through the fields.  The players would lose balance a little bit but not fall down, and the demons would be knocked back.  Including the demons holding Macradon, who would land on his feet regardless of how he fell.  Behind them hovered a brilliant angel with blue clothing and silver armor.  Her wings stretched out far and wide, a halo over her head.  And in her hands was a massive spear which she held horizontally.  "Fear not players, for I have come to aid you.  I am Artamiel, the Astral Blade.  Angel of Judgement.  And I shall aid you in this fight.  Stay strong, for the worst is yet to come,"  she said as her staff glowed a golden light.  As it did so, the players health would rise back up, as well as their energy.  The demons shook it off and looked a bit worried, as well as confused.  But after a moment they simply roared and rushed right back into the fray.

    The players had made the first assault, cutting down seven of the hordes of demons the players had to defeat.  Each strike slaying the demons swiftly and easily.  However this didn't seem to bother the demons very much as they continued to charge.  It would be evident they didn't fear death and were focused only on rushing and killing the players.  The three demons attacked by Zandra roared as they perished, the last two howling in pain as they combusted into flames before falling onto the ground, their corpses burning to ash.  The survivor of Zandra's attack roared as it rushed at her, but hesitated when it heard Shield's howl.  It changed directions and went after him instead with three additional demons following suit.  Each of them striking at Shield viciously and without mercy, all of them trying to tear through his mitigation.  Itzal also charged forward and took down four demons, cutting through them as easily as Zandra did.  The demons noticed this and one roared, speeding up it's assault as it launched itself at Itzal and attempted to pin him down, but ended up missing him.  The creatures continued to rush forward until it seemed they were back where they started.  Two parties of players versus the horde of demons.  However the demons approaching now would be different in size and appearance, their claws and tails thicker, sharper and stronger than the ones who came before.

    And now, the demons were fast approaching the next party.

    The priest Zack would lead the players to the back of the church and look out into the yard.  The green grass was fading, slowly but surely.  Dark clouds covered the sky, thunder heard in the distance.  There was no natural light to speak of, only lamps and torches keeping the place lit up, as well as the light that came from the lightning.  He turned to the players with a grim look on his face.  "Well, here we are.  The feeling is strongest here.  And it's growing stronger with every passing moment.  What's odd is that the closer it is, the more confusing it seems.  I can't tell if there is a single powerful force or a horde of foes."  He shook his head and held the cross around his neck before looking back towards the players.  "Whatever happens, whoever your foes may be.  Do not let your will or faith waver.  Remember that the devil and his minions are masters of lies and will seek to undo you.  Do not let them turn you against each other in any shape or form."  He closed his eyes.  "May the Lord watch over you all, and guide you."  He left the area and headed to the courtyard as he himself would surely be killed in the onslaught that was yet to come.  The players would have a little while to talk, some peace and quiet on their end before anything happened.  All the while they could feel the sensation of being watched.  For there was someone watching over them.  One who was being cautious, and would leap into action as soon as the players required aid.  The players would know they were being watched, but they could not discern where they were being watched from.  Whether it be in the church, the courtyard, the yard they were in, the village, another floor.  Nothing.  In addition to this, any player not wearing a cross the priests handed out would feel a strong effect over them.  All of them would feel weaker, heavier, oppressed even.  As if an icy mountain were placed on their shoulders to carry.  If they had a corrupted or divine weapon in hand, it would feel dull or dulled.  And every single player's weapon would feel heavier than usual.  If the players looked at their stats, they would notice that this sensation was effecting them in that regard as well.  Players who carried and even equipped the cross the priest's handed out would not feel these harmful effects, and instead only feel a tingling sensation.

    As the players were experiencing the effects and discussing with one another, there would be a loud thunderclap in the sky.  As the light flashed from the lightning strike, silhouettes would appear in front of them.  Hundreds of silhouettes of all shapes and sizes.  A few seconds afterwards, those hundreds of silhouettes began appearing to the players.  Every single version of a demon they could have possibly imagined.  Every horrific creature, intimidating beast, and disturbing monster  (no comedy/toon demons)  stood before them.  Their skin or scales having cracks over them, with red and orange heat showing through.  Their eyes black and full of hatred mixed with the void.  Their very posture poised to charge and shred the players limb from limb.  There originally was a good distance between the players and them, but the demons were now charging, closing the gap.  The demons in the back moving slower than the demons in the front, thus they would reach the players in waves.  If players killed one of them, another would immediately take it's place.  For each player in the groups, four demons would charge forth.  They would not reach the players just yet however, and thus the players had time to react, before the onslaught began.
