  1. As Alec reached the front door he grasped then knob and with a twist and a pull opened the door letting in a blast of frigid air from the snow covered floor he called his home. The pair left the cabin and began the walk across the snowy Forth Floor headed for the small town of Snowfrost where the Teleport Pad was located and their path the get to the Fifteenth Floor and their awaiting quest. Humphrey took the chance and plowed through the snowy banks left form the gusting wind smashing through them to burst free with a loud growl as if attacking invisible enemies. The sight brought a faint smile to the large man’s stern features and softened his perpetual scowl as the sight of his friend and companion at play always did. The bear cub had such a zeal and zest for life Alec could never remain upset for long in the presence of his Familiar. Chuckling to himself Alec arrived at the town of Snowfrost and quickly made his way tot he Teleport Pad that would allow him access to the Fifteenth Floor or any unlocked Floor he chose to visit.

  2. As Alec looked at his inventory he continued to scroll till he arrived at his equipment and quick touched the icons for his Shield of the Whorleater, his Heavy Plate Armor and finally his Ancient Battle Axe. After equipping his main items he continued to scroll and added some items to his Battle Ready Items list mainly his Luck Stone, his Amulet of Unrestrained Hate, some Teleport Crystals and finally a whole mess of healing potions and crystals to round out the mix just in case he needed them. He was questing on the Intermediate Floors today he thought and better safe than sorry he told himself with a nod as he glanced towards the kitchen. “You done with that ham yet?” Alec asked in his deep baritone rumble as he spotted Humphrey come ambling out of the kitchen licks his chops with a satisfied grin on his face. “You better not have left a mess in there.” Alec stated sternly as he looked to the front door of his cabin. “If you’re all ready lets get going.” The large man said as he began walking.

  3. “Japan.” Alec said with a thoughtful look. “Isn’t that where this game is supposed to be from?” The large man asked as he looked to the young lady. “Personally I’ve never been outside the US. Much less the mid west.” The large man offered as he sheepish look crept over his normally stern features softening them. “You’re English sounds great to me.” Alec offered reassuringly with a nod. “I never had much knack learning another language. I tried Spanish but I was horrible at it. Worst my teacher ever had.” The heavily muscled man stated with a faint embarrassed flush. “Never really was very book smart myself.” Alec finished with a shake of his head. “Sorry. Got to rambling there.” Alec offered by way of an apology. “I actually just reached Tier 3 myself just recently. But you were saying Return of the Queen. That’s the second bee quest where the Queen comes back bigger and tougher. I’ve done that one already. I could help you out no problem.” Alec offered. “Call it an apology for causing you to get soaked?” The large man asked with a raised eyebrow.

  4. Having finished his mug of coffee the large man flexed his tree trunk like legs rising up and padding softly from his oversized couch into his kitchen to drop his now empty mug off in the sink. As Alec stepped into the kitchen he stopped dead in his tracks at the sight before him. “Seriously?!?” Alec exclaimed in shock and surprise. “A ham Humphrey! A whole freaking ham?!?” Alec said loudly. “You decided you needed an entire ham for breakfast?” Alec exclaimed. With a shake of his bald head the heavily muscled man left the kitchen and his companion in frustration. “You better clean up after yourself.” Alec announced in mild irritation as reentered the living room and with a quick downward swipe opened up his inventory and began scrolling through its contents readying himself for the day and his upcoming quest. Alec equipped his travelling clothes with a few quick pokes of his index finger.

  5. Alec had heard of a Field Mob on the Fifteenth Floor that he was interested in checking out and today seemed as good a day as any to head that way and take a look. The Mob’s name was Blood Bane or something like that. Supposedly the Mob was some sort of mutated wolf leading a pack of vicious wolves not unlike another one he had faced off against with Dagger on a lower floor. Alec could only imagine this fight would be harder as it was on an intermediate floor versus the beginner floor the last one had been on, plus that really rude kid had showed up and sliced the wolves to ribbons in no time at all while Alec had done his best fighting them and Dagger had gathered Materials as he had done many other times the pair had gone out questing. Dagger to gain Materials and level up so he could be a better Merchant while Alec had fought the mobs for the pair.

  6. Alec sat on the oversized couch in his living room losing himself in the dying embers in the fireplace as he finished his mug of coffee. With the mug empty the large man sat contemplating what he would do for the day. He had finally reached Tier 3 and equipped himself with new gear befitting his level now he needed to quest as much as he could to strengthen himself as much as he could before the Front Lines team found the Boss for Floor 25. Last he had heard they were working on finding or beating the Labyrinth Guardian so Alec wasn’t sure how long he had left before they found the Boss and asked for available Players to join them and help fight the Boss. Since Alec had become active and started working on getting to the Front Lines they had only had one Boss fight and that was the 24th Floor and that Boss Leviathan had opened up the 25th Floor which was currently the highest floor attainable.

  7. The bear cub let out an irritated grumble and rolled over batting at the large mans bare foot with a paw. Alec let out a chuckle and quickly moved his foot out of the way of the halfhearted swat. Humphrey proceeded to stretch and let out an over exaggerated yawn before raising to his feet and wandering around the side of the couch disappearing from Alec’s view. “You better not be raiding the fridge again.” Alec called out in mock jest as he heard some thumping and banging happening from the kitchen area behind him. “And if you are don’t drink the milk straight from the carton again. You don’t have any thumbs all you end up doing is making a mess and spilling it all over he place.” Alec called in fake irritation. Humphrey responded with a loud growl and a few extra thumps and bangs for good measure. “You’re a pain the butt. You know that?” Alec called out teasingly.

  8. As Alec entered the kitchen he made his way over to the coffee pot and poured himself a large mug of steaming black liquid which he raised to his face and took a deep inhale of the steaming mugs vapors letting out his own sigh of contentment. “Guess the commercials were right. The best part of wakin up is digital coffee in your cup.” The heavily muscled man said with a deep low chuckle as he made his way over to the couch and sat down enjoying the first sip of the dark flavorful liquid. Alec smiled with a sense of satisfaction and marveled at the time and effort the game creators had to have gone through programming the rich bold taste he enjoyed every time he sipped the hot dark liquid. “You getting up today pal or gonna sleep all day?” Alec asked as he nudged the bear cub with the toes of his bare foot.

  9. Having completed his morning ritual of stretches, bends and flexes to realign his aging joints and muscles the large man padded softly out of his bedroom and through the living room spotting his Familiar Humphrey stretched out on the flagstones before the dying embers of last nights fire. The sight brought a smile to the large mans normally stern face as he looked upon his closest and dearest friend here in the virtual prison he found himself trapped within. Humphrey was an American Black Bear cub and his antics and personality always brightened those around him with his playful nature and outgoing personality. “Morning Humphrey.” Alec called out in his deep baritone rumble as he made his way into the open air kitchen. The bear cub let out a grumble and waved a paw in the air as if batting away the larger man as he rolled over facing the fire and letting out a deep contented sigh bringing another smile to the large man face.

  10. Alec arrived at the Blazing Typhoon bright and early ready to get back to crafting and training under his mentor Macradon. He had progressed very far but wasn’t done yet he still quite a ways to go before he would consider himself a Blacksmith the large man thought as he let himself into the forge only to find a pair of requests that must have come in the previous day after had finished his own work yesterday. So Alec pulled out a stack of Materials and set to work. It seemed the first order was for a Perfect Tier 2 Katana with three slots of Accuracy. So once Alec had the forge heated up and ready he set to work heating Materials and pounding them with his hammer he had won in his contest with Hephestus. Alec spent the entire day working Tier 2 Materials but the Katanas he was able to create were no where near the quality the customer had asked for Alec threw Katana after Katana into the junk bin and finally ended the day frustrated and disgruntled at his complete and total failure. He must be rusty the large man thought to himself angrily as he stormed from his mentor’s shop angry and disgusted with his failure today.

  11. Alec sat at the edge of his bed taking in his surrounds. Nothing had changed. Nothing ever changed here. It was good and bad at the same time Alec thought to himself grimly as he flexed his tree trunk like legs and rose to his full height of nearly six and a half feet stretching his thickly muscled arms out wide and receiving a satisfying pop in his sternum. The heavily muscled man rolled his shoulders forward clasping his hands together as he pushed forward stretching out the muscles in his broad back before bending at the waist and reaching for the floor. Once he mused ruefully he’d been able to touch the floor, but that had been years ago and his body though still big and powerful was losing some of its flexibility simple due to aging. “I’m getting old” the large man mumbled to himself as he raised back up from his doubled over position to stand once more before twisting at the waist and receiving a series of pops as his vertebrae realigned themselves and slipped back into their proper place.

  12. Oh crap! The large man thought as a young woman came toppling off the walkway on the bridge to fall into the stream before him. Thankfully the fall wasn’t that great of a distance and they were in a safe zone or that could have been really bad. “I’m really sorry to have startled you.” Alec said with a flash of concern across his perpetual scowl. “I hope you’re okay.” The large man said as he uncrossed his arms and leaned down offering the young woman an outstretched hand to help her up. “My name’s Alec. It’s nice to meet you Yuki, you said? Was that Japanese?” Alec asked in his deep baritone rumble as his features softened and a faint smile began to soften the edges of his stern features and replace his look of concern at the young woman’s unfortunate arrival. “That was some kind of entrance.” Alec offered with a deep chuckle. “But if you’re in search of a Tank you’ve found one and offering. You my services is the least I can do after causing you to take such a tumble. What quest were you looking at?”

Alec awoke with a stretch and a yawn as he cracked his eyelids open and looked around taking account of his situation and location. Yes. He thought to himself as he took in his surroundings. He was in his “bed” in his “bedroom” in his “cabin” here in Aicrad still. One day the the large man thought to himself he’d wake up and he’d actually be home and this would all be a very long vivid dream that he’d tell Gwen and Danny about over breakfast and a cup of coffee. But that day wasn’t today he thought with a sigh as he sat on twisted planting his bare feet on the stone floor of his “bedroom” and ran a strong calloused set of hands over his bald head and through his thick graying beard with a tug. Wiping the sleepy and tired feelings away as he looked around once more reaffirming what he had already deduced. Still in Aincrad.

  14. Today seemed to be one of those calm days where Alec found himself not overly eager to head to the upper floors and find a quest to do. So today Alec found himself calmly walking along the Second Floor in the safe zone. It was nice here the heavily muscled man thought to himself as he strolled along his hands resting comfortably in his pockets. As the over sized man walked he stumbled upon a small stream flowing under a bridge. This seems like a nice place to relax Alec thought to himself as he leaned against one of the supports of the bridge. As Alec stared at the stream reminiscing about home and some similar streams he had wadded through and played in during his youth he heard an audible sigh from someone standing on the bridge above him and a feminine voice say.

"I'm starting to run out of quests to do that are in my skill range..."

Resting with his thick arms crossed across his massive chest Alec leaned back slightly tilting his head up to view above him as he called out in his deep baritone rumble “What kind of quest did you have in mind? Maybe I can help.

    Concentration

Effect: Gain +1 ACC until the start of your next turn (must delcare use in roll purpose).
Description: After having fought yourself, and spared the summoned incarnation, you have learnt to focus in times of need, improving accuracy for a brief moment.
Possible to obtain after completing the quest <<The Gemini>>

  18. Alec listened as the other man told him about the techniques and tactics needed to utilize and activate the Concentration skill. For the next hour Alec practiced the skill under the watchful eye of the Gemini as he went over what Alec needed to do to learn and perfect the skill. As Alec used Concentration over and over it became easier and easier. After the hour was done Alec had learned the skill and looked as it appeared in his skills section. With a nod he looked down to other man. Thank you. Alec said as he finished his training. I will put this skill to good use and use it well in my quest to reach the Front Lines. Alec stated as he reached out a hand and shook the hand of the Gemini. Thank you for teaching me this. Alec stated with a stern look as turned and walked away leaving the Gemini behind as Humphrey fell in beside him and the pair walked into the jungle disappearing.

  19. As the Gemini’s health bar dropped down to a single hit point Alec jumped free of his opponent stopping just before the Gemini died. The large heavily muscled man looked down at his beaten foe who who knelt before him gasping for breath. You’re defeated. Alec announced as he looked down upon the other man. The Gemini rose to his feet his form shifting and morphing from a mirror image of Alec to a much smaller man of nondescript features. You have beaten me. The Gemini stated in a bland voice. And being a man of my word I will teach you a useful skill. The Gemini continued. If you will listen to me I will teach you how to gain an advantage in combat which will help you strike your foe. The skill is called Concentration and it will increase your Accuracy in times of need for one attack before you must let it recharge for a short time before you can use it again. The Gemini stated as he began to teach the other man who to perform Concentration.

  20. Alec held his ground as the Gemini stalked in its circle around the large Tank searching for another weak spot in Alec’s defense. As the Gemini spotted an opening the carbon copy of Alec dove forward its jagged battle axe head raising to the sky and falling like a rocket toward the large man Alec quickly shifted his stance once more receiving the attack with his shield and deflecting a large amount of the attack away from himself as the axe head bit into his shoulder once more opening another large rent there that released more of Alec’s vital red pixels into the air around the pair. As Alec’s spike sand frost rimmed shield bit back into his opponent Alec jumped free of the other man as his hit points neared zero. The large Tank freed himself from his opponent just as his health bar ticked down to its last notch stopping at 1 Hit Point refusing to kill the other man Alec lowered his battle axe and shield and stared his opponent down.

  21. Alec sensed the fight was drawing towards it’s conclusion but it wasn’t over yet. Not till he or his enemy was defeated. The heavily muscled Tank took a moment to hazard a glance up to see that the Gemini had barely a sliver of health left and its health bar was beginning to flash an angry red color. The Tank nodded to himself as he watched the weak copy of himself try once more to circle Alec into a corner and drop his defenses but Alec had fought many fights like this and was ready for his opponents attack and planned his defense perfectly. As the Gemini charged in at what he thought was a gap in Alec’s defenses the Tank brought his Shield of Whorleater up and around placing it directly into the path of the charging Gemini. The other man slammed into the shield and was easily and casually knocked to the side and sent sprawling onto the dirt at Alec’s feet. The heavily muscled Tank had hit his opponent harder than he’d planned and as he swung his Battle Axe down the tumbling man luckily flailed out of the way as his fall took him away from Alec’s reach and his deadly axe.

  22. The Gemini continued its circling of the heavily muscled Tank searching for any weakness in the other mans defenses. As he circled Alec shifted his weight and stance trying to keep himself facing his opponent and his shield between himself and his foe. As the Gemini spotted an opening in Alec’s defense he once again lunged forward his version of Foe Render lashing out in a wide arc seeking the other mans side. Alec dropped a foot back and brought his frost rimmed shield around catching the axe with the jagged edge of his shield and deflecting what would have been a solid hit into a glancing blow that skipped off his shield and armor delivering a much smaller cut than was intended opening another red slash in the Tank’s armor and body as his shield and spikes bit into the other man as he retreated. Alec took advantage of the opening and swung Foe Render up and then down in a quick chop that smashed deep into the other mans shoulder tearing a deep jagged gash out of his opponent as he readied himself for the closing moments of this fight.

As the Gemini spotted an opening it dove forward it’s copy of Foe Render streaked through the air flashing in the rays of sunlight breaking through the thick canopy overhead. As the jagged battle axe head came streaking down Alec shifted his shield and brought it around deflecting the attack harmlessly away from himself and causing the axe head to bury itself in the soft ground at his feet as he brought the true Foe Render up over his head and swung straight down at the Gemini. The axe dove towards its target but at the last instant the Gemini brought its own shield up and blocked the jagged axe head catching the swing and stopping it dead in its motions. Alec retreated several steps to gain some distance before readying himself to defend once more against his carbon copy opponent.

Alec continued to keep his shield held up in the defensive between himself and the poor copy of himself as the fake version of himself stalked around him in a circle brandishing his fake version of Foe Render at the real Alec as he shifted his stance to keep his shield between himself and his opponent. The Gemini lunged forward his battle axe swinging down at Alec as he jumped through the air. Alec brought his shield up once more to defend knocking the axe head away from its original course and only receiving a grazing wound on the shoulder,  strike which would have been much worse had he failed to react in time and again Alecs shield and armor spikes dug into his attacker delivering damage back to his opponent. Alec swung his own battle axe around but the Gemini was too fast and easily blocked Alecs swing with its own shield receiving no damage from the attack.
