[OP-F24] Valentines Tournament Arc Round 2 - Observer Thread
NIGHT replied to Baldur's topic in Intermediate Floors
she immediately peeked from the noise. an eye to her position -- her hands were shaky on the incense. "NIGHT?" he called as gently as he could manage, "It's me. Can I come in?" no registration of who was at the door. night took down her futon for a moment to lob the object in her hand. it clattered to the floor once it struck the table side, unbroken, almost pitiful in her attempt. what heat from within the object fizzled out into nothingness. the squeak she made crawling back into her hiding spot was in accordance to koga's destruction of property. she dug in fast, like a rock -

NIGHT replied to Koga's topic in Intermediate Floors
NIGHT could tell something seemed unusual with Jevi, once the woman's gaze had floated to the front door as a new entrant walked into the scene. All tension seemed to melt out of her companion, fading away -- a nod to her friend was all she could give. She decided she wouldn't pry. "No worries. I at least hope I could've helped." Unfortunately, she'd speak up just a little too late. What was immediately more apparent was the flash of green from that familiar player in the raid community. Somehow, her company seemed familiar with each other -- Hirru shooting NIGHT a greeting, to -
<<The Mysterious Divide: Srona>> "Whaaaaaaaaat." It was DAY who slumped forward this time, as Koga had been making the transaction for a caravan. Almost theatrical, NIGHT had her arms folded, watching the woman in amusement as she righted herself just as their friend was escorted to pick their vehicle of choice. No doubt it wouldn't be as private as the party would've liked it to be, but at least they had their own space as opposed to squeezing in with the other travelers heading out in the moment. The murmurs from the entity seemed saddened, almost pitiful, eyes wis

NIGHT wasn't a fan of airship battles, watching the skies. Wasn't sure which vessels had artillery and which ones didn't. Wasn't a fan of the way the wind pulsed in her ear, and made her heart race, a loud drum. Didn't want to be miles away from land. She just might kiss it when she hit the ground again. But what caught her attention more was the sight of that large target they were supposed to pursue -- and somehow land upon. No docking stations -- this had to be a crash mission of some sort -- and Koga's words howled through noise was barely audible. She assumed he'd made the same concl

something amiss. the town of beginnings was never this ruined nor chaotic even in its harshest weathers. night didn't know when she'd slipped though the shift in reality, and the disappearance of other entities in the vicinity only marked an eerie sense of loneliness. not that she'd slow down to inspect her surroundings. information in the details of the atmosphere only came in realization once she'd considered the clarity of the storm over the horizon, the lack of obstruction in her chase, the scatter of white light mixed with blue that trailed her steps once she'd brushed past them, em -
"..." "she's free to think whatever she wants," night stated, pouting, hugging her knees tighter. her eyes were glued to the table, voice almost muffled. "it's not like i'm entirely against it or anything, but it's not like i'm totally for it either. it's not like i know her well enough to make a good decision or anything, so i figured if we just spent some time together, we could figure out what kind of people we are and go from there. that's what i thought." she paused, blinking twice. lingering. nowhere to hide. nowhere to run. nowhere nowhere nowhere. unfamiliarity was the enemy. and yet, it was the only environment she had she could be able to put up with. one of the empty chambers in baldur's dojo. night didn't remember which it was, but the sliding door to the room clicked shut once she'd found the vicinity clear of other players. a futon was laid with a low table and incense; atmospheric, most probably meant for temporary naps or lodgings for the estate's dwellers. she only did what she believed was right, at the time. check the room for security. pus -

Hesitation. But not without thought. NIGHT had already planned to stay the rest of the week home, safe in her own room without the interference of anyone else, the way she'd always known she'd be comfortable, untouched. Still, she had to do something about food. And take out was an option, but... they were trying to make it not to be. For the better, she reasoned. A nod was all NIGHT would give the man, but that left the better question for their present -- left to their own devices, what else was there left for the veterans to do? They didn't stray too far from the duo; safety preca -
animated movements. objections and opinions. all of these were lost to the silence, the two breaking fast, never once exchanging a word. it gave night time to think and consider her appearance at koga's. it was initially the free food and her friend's company. now, she wasn't so sure any more. she was still hushed when koga came to take her bowl. night thought back to the hammering of metal. the crack of bone on steel. the chopping of vegetables. she shuddered and pulled herself into a slightly deeper hug before her friend returned from the kitchen, almost unassuming in demeanor.

water. plain and simple. night knew it was ready for her when koga tapped her shoulder. and she drank from the glass, half awake from her stupor, a futile attempt at cleansing what she couldn't let go of. she buried her throes in the sound of sizzling meat. watched as koga fed his familiar -- a simple sight. a boy and his hound. and a sting, unusual, in her neck as she waited. her palm wrapped around it, woman unnerved. "go ahead." "thank you." she didn't forget her manners this time. though when offered the choice, night picked out a pair of chopsticks, wor

night strode to the dining table at his acknowledgement. wasn't sure how to make herself comfortable. instead, she took it as an order to sit down, her form folding once her arms hit the wood. the sound of food being made felt like home, and not at all, all at once. the woman wasn't sure what to think. she let her head rest on the table, sheltered by her arms. the scrunchie on her wrist. the scent of familiarity overtaking the delicious waft of food. she tried to keep calm. night thought it was working. "Want something to drink?" "mm," was her reply. spaced out and ina

she didn't know when the anger trailed out. in fact, she didn't think it ever left her [|||]. it was always buried, buried deep, 6-feet-under-and-a-little-more-dead yet it came back to life like a zombie. like a phoenix, undying. like a ghost, ever haunting. it lived on in ren. followed her like a puppy. sank its teeth into her neck, like a hound. but this time, she felt bone crash into flesh right at the center of her chest. she felt it stop, right before where she believed it should've gone. deeper. she'd felt it before. it didn't matter. ren screamed. she did ever -

a sharp hit against the shoulder. she remembered when she could feel pain, that pain, her body following through in a stumble. nari had gotten in close -- too close, too close -- and ren remembered when the edge of that knife dug in through her skin, the pierce of red, the horror the horror the horror i'm sorry i'm sorry i'm sorry and she couldn't help but cry as she pushed back. further, further still, farther than she had been able to reach, she forced the arm of the weapon out to hold fast against her opponent -- nari -- not nari -- help -- and it was everything in her power to re -
location: koga's house. time: past curfew. it wasn't really night's fault she'd had dinner late. not as of recent; sometimes it was due to scheduling issues, and others it was because they were getting take out. still, cooking found itself to be a staple, until it wasn't. the sound of vegetables on the cutting board was enough to shake the woman to her wits. she was over on invitation. topic matter unabated. and if night had decided she wasn't okay to come over without company, it wasn't as though koga would've rejected her imposition. and yet. despite her shaking knees,

last minute changes. in accordance, so too did night switch her gear. a spear. because she wanted nothing to do with the distance between herself and her opponent. nothing to do with the violence that was to be inflicted. as she clutched the length of the weapon held fast in her hands, she could only gaze down the field. this wasn't a match. violence that beget violence that beget this wasn't a fair fight. night had only once used a spear. the weight of it was uncomfortable -- too fast, too accurate. when she swung her sword, she put her entire body to the motions -

Of course she'd noticed. And the taste of it was... sour. She was wordless when she fell into step with Koga. Her tracksuit was zipped up tight, but what was more unusual for her time on the first were the gloves she kept on. Though, hardly noticeable, once her hands were stuffed full in her pockets. NIGHT looked over to her friend, almost despondent. Searched for words to say, appraising a confession, before looking out towards the fields instead. 'Babysitting'. The sound of steel cracking bone rang in her ear. "Hey," the player started, once they were far enough in
