Although the quiet stretched, Nari found that it wasn't uncomfortable. She wasn't sure how to label it, but it almost felt calming - as if there was no need to communicate anything. Maybe that's the case. We do know each other really well. Maybe not perfectly, but well enough that there's been times when we just know what the other needs or wants. She thought back to the many times she'd interpreted Onora's needs without the woman even needing to say a word, and the ways in which Onora always seemed to know what Nari needed. Maybe...maybe there is something to that. "Hey, I...have a quest

Nari gave a small nod to the girl's final statement, knowing that there was nothing else to say. The two had already begun moving back towards the safety of the settlement, and Nari felt that they'd completed the task that they had come out to face. She walked silently, for a while, as she let her mind wander over the events of the night. Growth. That's what it's all about...growing in a way that you become more than you once were. It's not about the enemies you put down, or how quickly you do it. Or don't do it. It's about what you walk away with...and that you do walk away from it. It doesn'

The collection of individuals was growing larger and larger as other members of the frontlines began to appear. Nari nodded at a few - happy to see some familiar faces, even if she'd only just met a few of them. She'd taken her shot at trying to figure out the puzzle, but had stepped back as NIGHT and others began their own attempts. She had watched, curious to see how those with more experience handled the puzzle and it's intricate patterns, as the others stepped forward and followed her approach to a degree. The rumbling that followed Hirru's words, left Nari feeling a slight bump in h

Mornings had always been a struggle for Nari. She'd hated the idea of leaving her bed, and facing the challenges that the day had to offer; better to remain in the comfort and warmth and let the problems be faced the following day. Aincrad had changed that for it, in the sense that it had forced her to get up early. Forced her to need to face the problems of tomorrow, today. Forced her to stumble from the warmth of her bed, into a cold shower and then into a routine of eating something and making her way into the wilds beyond. At first, she had hated it, but the longer she had taken up the pra

Instead of pressing the conversation at hand, Onora instead turned to the food that had been brought. Nari glanced over the assortment of breads, meats and cheeses - paired along with some sauces that she didn't recognise. She waited, patiently, as the blonde set the pieces out in an almost orderly fashion, arrangement them in a mannerism that reminded Nari of the individuals who spent more time on the presentation than actual consumption of their food. It's an art of it's own, even if I don't necessarily get it. There's nothing that says I need to understand, only appreciate and be patient. T

Nari smiled slightly at the mention of newfound courage and confidence. She felt anything but confident, in her life, but she appreciated the thought regardless, knowing better than to argue the compliment. She listened as Oji explained his own stagnant position - the positive commentary hiding a negative review even as he spoke the words - causing her to shake her head in response. "Levels aren't everything. They may provide us with more skills, more power, but...I don't think they make us develop as a person in any way. Only time, and experience can do that. Sure, you can grind yourself into

The night sky seemed to glitter as Fae praised Nari, the girl seemingly seeing something in her that Nari herself failed to notice. Previously, she'd have been left stumbling over her words, embarrassed and desperately trying to turn the attention away from herself and onto another topic, or another person. Now, however, she found herself calm, collected and un-phased by the other player's commentary. She didn't look away from Fae as she responded, her words quick, but not excited or emotional, as she stated what she felt in that moment. "There's nothing special about me. I fought my way

Nari took a breath as she stood outside the entrance to what would become the hardest challenge she'd encountered in the world of Aincrad thus far. She wasn't sure if what she was feeling was excitement, nerves, or a combination of both, but as she focused her thoughts inwards, she knew there was only one thing to do. Take the first step, so that those which follow may be guided by that which began it all. It far from settled her emotions, but the thought allowed her to step into the area where three others had already begun to gather. She smiled and tossed a wave towards Jomei, upon spot

Her wait hadn't lasted nearly as long as she'd been expecting. The younger player had stepped out and into view just as Nari received another notification. She barely glanced at it, opening it only to clear away the hovering icon, before stepping towards the other player. She watched as NIGHT grabbed the NPC required to start the quest, before moving towards the scene unfolding before them. Nari remained quiet, letting the girl interact with the NPC - seemingly distracted in thought and following through with what appeared to be reactionary actions. As the NPC explained the presence of Lilith,

The words had entirely passed over Nari's head as they had begun to set up the various foods and beverages that Onora had packed for the excursion. She'd just turned to eye out their swimming spot, when her mind caught up to what Onora had said aloud. For a few seconds, Nari felt herself staring out at the water, her face flushed and her mind screeching to a halt as she tried to process everything. Slowly, her face void of any expression, she turned back to face the blonde. "Uhm...what?" Her voice seemed to shake slightly, as if her entire body had forgotten how to work properly. At some

Nari found herself standing and staring at the waterfall and surrounding area for a few moments, taking it all in. She'd never been to this portion of the floor - in fact, as far as she could remember, she'd barely explored the sixth at all. She'd had no idea that locations such as the one before her could even exist, and she found herself once more shocked with the beauty that could be found in the death game. "Are you just going to stand there all day, or are you coming?" Onora had already moved a few dozen steps into the main area, holding out a hand back towards Nari. The blonde wore

Nari took a small look around the living area as they entered, noticing that it appeared ever so slightly different from the last time she'd had a glimpse - not that she'd been inside and capable of seeing exactly what it looked like. She had to admit, however, that it appeared homely. In a way, it felt like an extension of Oji himself, as if the man had displayed his very soul and being into the home. I wonder if the same is true for all of our homes...and if so, what does ours say about Onora and I? She wasn't entirely sure, but she knew that one of the two of them would be considered a neat

She breathed a sigh of relief as the shards glittered in the air around her, falling towards the ground before disappearing from sight entirely. She'd known that her strike would end it - the system wouldn't allow it to happen any other way, even if there were some creatures that could regenerate. Still, there as a relief to be felt when the expectations actually came true, allowing her to step back and revel in the safety that came with the end of a conflict. "Hmm...? It's no problem, at all. Truly, I'm glad I was able to help...I know how sometimes the past can hold us back, and not all
