F8-CA PP) Dungeon Dwelving (CA guild Event)

Recommended Posts

OOC- I won't be available much Saturday, and not at all Sunday, but we really do need to get a move on with this thread.  @Hikari@Morgenstern@Sey@Aereth@Birdie due to our engaging battle with this post, each player will have 24 hours to post before being skipped.  This pattern will continue till the end of the thread.

Itzal smiled to Jonathan as he heard his friend's question and comment and nodded.  "Yeah it is pretty cool.  Each dungeon will hint that it's either a beginner, intermediate or advanced in some way.  Some are obvious, like this one, and some are harder to tell, but there are ways.  As for what we'll find I'm not quite su-"  With that they heard a sound.  Itzal watched as a large cat, possibly a puma, walked over to them from the tunnel.  It had a red cursor.  As Itzal drew his sword slowly, three other large cats, panthers and such, joined it.  Itzal turned to look at Jonathan.  "Um...  I think I'll go ahead and hit them real quick.  I have evasion so I should be good until you draw the hate.  Here goes."  Itzal rushed at the four cats and released Shadow Explosion, able to strike all of them despite their attempt to evade him.  They all growled in rage and rushed at him.  Itzal was surprised at their incredible speed and ended up getting hit by them.  when he saw the damage they dealt he leaped back and patted Morgenstern's shoulder.  "Oooookeeee, how about you use howl now eh?"

Jonathan walked behind Itzal, speaking of different dungeons. He and Itzal had been doing quite a few dungeons lately to gain some SP, and hopefully get the tank paladin up to par. The man stopped abruptly in his sentence and Jonathan gazed forward. Walking through the darkness was a puma. Jonathan smiled, but hesitated as three more came into view. Itzal sprinted forward, slashing at all of them with a high skilled sword art. The blond smiled and stepped forward. There was too many to use focused howl, but he could still use the regular. Itzal was in the way though. The man ended up getting hit and Jonathan watched as his health dipped majorly. The cats had incredible speed. Joanthan stepped forward and used  <<Howl>> The cats turned toward him with a growl. The others needed to get down here, he and Itzal should not have to deal with this entire dungeon by himself. Itzal was supposed to find not deal all the damage. "Come on down guys, we need you to help us out!" he yelled to the other party members.

Hikoru breathed and followed the group, noticing that Itzal and Morgenstern had jumped down into a water-filled pit. He sighed and pulled up his cloak, motioning for the others to follow as he jumped down, his <<Acrobatics>> Mod activating and landing gracefully in the water with a small splash. He jumped out of the water, his cape still shimmering and soon dissapearing as he came onto land, and he knew this would be a prime area for stealth. But for now, he knew that he needed to attack what few creatures there were around. He breathed and knew that it was finally time to try a Shadowed Path Sword Art. He breathed and moved forward as his whole body was concealed in shadow, then he jumped around, using his only AoE to attack all the creatures around him. He gave a small smile as he had done well, and awaited to see how the others would do as well.

His goal as a healer was to not obtain hate. That was something that the long awaited "Switch" skill was for when he gets it. Sure, he did not have it, but it did not change the fact that it was not the brightest idea for him to attack. He was rather infamous for being able to get past the amount of hate that the average tank was able to obtain... Which was unfortunate considering how his mitigation was not even that high. Oh well, at least he had enough in case enemies somehow targeted him. Itzal seemed to need a little bit of an assist with his health. It didn't look like much damage, but it was best to keep him at the highest point of health.. "All right, I'll stay back. Aereth, prepare to jump in whenever." The snow-haired player announced as he paced himself back a couple of steps, looking down to the red book in his left hand while he held out his right palm, prepared for the healing techniques to be executed. Unfortunately however, he was unable to cast any form of healing in the process, making him snap his fingers as he was unable to carry out the task the first time. What a disappointment.

Aereth saw his guildmates attacking, healing and howling. When Sey mentioned that he should jump in whenever the next opening would be created, he simply nodded. He pulled his hood over his head and repositioned his face mask. Like Itzals, his battle armor also focused on evasion and thus he was sure that he could evade almost every attack the cats could throw at him. Unfortunately he only had a weak rank three AoE sword art ready to use for now, but with the combined effort of the guild that shouldn't pose that big of a problem.

Just after Hikoru attacked, Aereth also dashed in with the glowing blade on his shoulder. He didn't just want to damage the mobs, he also wanted to create an opening for Birdie as well. His blade made contact with all four cats, and he even sent the cat that was standing the nearest to Birdie crashing into another one. Damage was done and an opening was created....

Birdie's eyes danced around the four cats, eliciting a quiet groan in thought. 'Choose the rapier class, they said.' She pulled her weapon out and darted to the other side of the felines, trying to trap them and keep any stragglers from fleeing the fight.

Thanks to Aereth, two cats had a grandiose target painted on their backs, though she cursed herself for her lack of AoE skill. 'It'll be fun, they said.' She rolled her eyes.

Birdie cooked up a sword art - with <<Over Radiation>> ready to roll, she leapt forwards after a running start and targetted one of the cats, inflicting more than a dozen individual stabs and punctures to the feline's abdomen. One enemy was distracted - if only for a second, seeing as Morgenstern was the main thing on their minds - but she prayed it would of some help to whoever would attack next.

Itzal watched as the others made their moves.  It was heart warming to see the guild work together as one unit.  He smiled to his friends and when it was his turn he charged, his sword out ready to strike, Velnia swooping in beside him.  When he neared the group he charged Shadow Explosion and released it on them.  The four had attempted to attack during this time and were caught by surprise, therefore Itzal was able to keep them from attacking.  At the same time he saw the bleed symbol emerge on them and grinned.  Excellent he thought.  After he did so he leaped out of the way and turned to the others.  "I'm going to switch to my loot gear now guys!  Just give me a sec!"  He knew there was a mod somewhere that allowed him to switch gear much more swiftly, but he forgot which skill was required...  He'd have to look that up.

After using his tanking abilities, he started the attack outright. The other members joined them in the fight, and the enemies had gotten quite low on health. It was great to see them all working together as one. He neared the Cat like creatures and decided to use a skill that he did not use much. He never used AOE. He would here though. He swung his blade three times in succession, slicing all four of the creatures. The damage had kept the creatures at bay, and now the rest of his allies were going to go ahead and finish the attack. "Alright Hikrou, get them good enough for Itzal to be able to finish. Nobody finished these guys but Itzal." The blond looked over to the man sourly who mentioned something about getting his loot gear on. "Next time, Please ensure that you are ready in the right equipment. You were already informed you were going full on scout"  The blond rose his shield, ready to continue the fight.

Hikoru gave nods of approval for both Aereth and Birdie, who had done a decent amount of damage to the Large Cat's in the area. He nodded and used his Shadowed Path Sword Art again, being concealed into shadows and attacking the creatures again, finishing off the weakest one easily and giving a nod, backing away back towards the water where his cloak shimmered, and soon he dissapeared from sight. The fighting was already going well, and he was proud of how far the group had come in such a small time. He himself had Grandmastered Stealth and received the mod he had been after for so long, and finally able to attack from the shadows, and he was almost halfway done with levelling his Unique Skill to it's Grandmastered Rank. He re-adjusted his glasses and studied the fight carefully, looking for any more openings that he could find to attack the remaining Large cat's once more

Seems like things were mostly doing well enough, so Sey decided to declare an attack. It was a bad judgement for sure, but he was able to at least take advantage of how weakened the monsters seemed to look. Sey decided to cherry pick one of the cats and use his merciless flurry technique onto it, eleven slashes from the sides of the monster with a final strike piercing through the center of the being. As a result… It was near dead, but it was not completely dead. Well shoot, that was not what he expected to happen, but there was nothing to be done about it. The snow-haired player would launch his body back with light steps before then looking to the side to see Aereth next in the party to act. Well, hopefully his luck would be a little bit better than his own, and it wasn’t really that big of a deal anyways since there were high doubts of any player deaths caused via monsters.

Seeing Sey attack for the first time ever, was quite impressive. This man was indeed a real grinding god. He nearly killed one of the cats and came back completely unharmed. @Sey "That was an impressive show of strength my friend. It seems like you really surpassed me in all regards. I'm proud to be able to fight at your side." he said to the white haired man and also dashed towards one of the large cats charging up his up until now strongest sword art. Aereth dodged a swipe from the left and leaped into the air to trigger his <<Lightning Fall>> sword art. His blade made contact with the virtual flesh of the large cat and it winced in pain before Aereth retreated back to his friends. If Birdie managed to decimate the health points of the last large cat enough so that Itzal would be able to finish off all of them with one of his mighty area of effect sword arts.

Watching the Large Cats' health whittle away, Birdie knew there was little reason for her to kill any of them. The plan was to let Itzal take them down at the same time, maximising the rewards. She left the two wounded mobs to chase after Morgenstern and focused on the middle of the pack, whose health bar sat just above the 25% mark.

She launched herself towards the mob and activated a weaker sword art this time, going in with the intent of maiming it rather than killing. She lunged towards the cat's leg and struck twice, before dealing a crippling blow to the feline's abdomen. Twirling on the balls of her feet, she retreated back to the point where she'd been stood before. The woman's careful eyes scanned the group for Itzal, anticipating the attack that would potentially put the Celestial Ascendants one step closer to attaining a guild hall.

Itzal was going to switch to his loot gear, however he noticed that when Aereth struck the monsters, they all received bleed.  Crap he thought to himself.  Now there wasn't any time to switch equipment.  He might as well give it a try.  The reason for this was because most likely one of the other members would lose patience and strike at them anyways, and if that didn't finish them off, the bleed effect certainly would.  Seeing as how Itzal had the most percentage chance at getting the best loot out of all the players here, he figured he'd just give it a shot.  He readied himself and charged at the three monsters.  However when he charged Velnia flew in front of him, forcing him to change course and thus he almost stumbled from the excess momentum.  There was no denying that he was a little upset, and not just at his inability to hit these monsters.  However he also knew there was no point to it.  They might as well just clear this dungeon asap.

Jonathan watched as Itzal charged, but ended up veering off course rather quickly. The blond sighed. The whole plan they had already set up was completely destroyed. 'Itzal really is not on it today. He really needs to get into the game, I am tired of him screwing up on this journey.' He sighed and decided to charge the weakest of the pumas. He did not have to waste any energy with it either. He leapt forward, slashing downward with an arc. Upon contact, the creature had fallen. He had not gotten any loot, but it was expected as a tank. Hikoru was up, and he could finish this up and hopefully get some loot. He looked back over to Hikoru and nodded, but in that second the pumas attacked, slashing him. He was covered in red marks, but just like the last they faded. With a smiled he retreated a bit and prepared for another go.

Hikoru breathed and moved forward, using the same Sword Art as before and finishing off one of the large cats that were still there. The last remaining cat had only a sliver of health left. He looked over at Sey, and gave him a nod as he retreated. The Apprentices were doing well, all able to take these creatures pretty well. And with Morgenstern and Itzal taking the hits, he knew that things would go well. Itzal's health was starting to get low, but he knew that he would be fine. He would just have to watch his health, but he was confused as to why Morgenstern's health was fine, and Itzal's wasn't. He ignored the fact for now and paid attention to Itzal more, making sure that he would be safe from anything else. He would tell the others to leave if need be, but he was sure that they could handle this, they just needed to watch each others back more. He breathed and stood, waiting for Sey to finish off the last Cat standing.

  • 2 weeks later...

One cat that only had about a couple pixels left in its health bar. There was no way that Sey could screw this up. He would ready his spear before charging forward towards the cat, trying to slice through it and put it out, only for it to narrowly avoid his attack by leaping to the side, resulting in a miss. His eyes would open up with a massive amount of shock…Somehow, despite the health that it had, it was able to dodge his attacks like they were nothing. It would continue to walk like it did not just dodge him, and that added insult to injury. The snow-haired player tried to slice it once again, this time to the side all of the way so that he was able to cover a lot of ground, but to no avail as even that attack would fail in the end as well. His head hung down in defeat as he could not land the hit in time. There was no way Sey could screw this up…

Aereth charged in immediately after Sey, so he could use a possible opening his friend would maybe create. Both of them were charging up their sword arts and tried to end the life of the virtual cat. Sey unfortunately missed, but this created the opening Aereth was waiting for. He simply slashed at the cat successfully destroying it. The mob dropped some Col as well as a bonus material, and Aereth walked back to his guildmates. "Looks like we're done here." he told all of them, and then turned to @Itzal. "So where do we go next. You found the dungeon, you lead the way." he said while chuckling. This was just the beginning of their dungeon raid, but Aereth was motivated as f*ck. All of them would get some nice experience and it would also bring them one step closer to purchasing a guild hall for the Celestial Ascendants.

OOC- talked to Birdie and she said to just have her leave

Itzal nodded to Aereth and was about to continue forward when he noticed something:  Birdie wasn't there.  He scanned the area and even used reveal, noticing that she had left the dungeon.  He wondered why but he supposed he could talk to her about it at a later time.  He looked at the party now that the monsters had been cleared.  "Hey guys, I'm not sure why but Birdie decided to head out.  I'll talk to her about it later but for now let's clear this dungeon out ok?"  He hoped nobody would be upset that she had left, in addition to that nobody was relieved that she had left.  Whatever happened would happen he told himself, and there was always a reason.  "Alright soooo.  There seem to be three different paths.  Give me a sec."  Itzal activated reveal and scanned the area.  He saw that one of them fell into a trap.  One led deeper into the dungeon and one entered a concealed room.  He thought he spotted something in the room so he turned to the group.  "There's something in a concealed room down the right path.  Might be a chest.  Come on let's go check it out."

Birdie has left the thread.  If we want a chest I need to be able to post on the 20th post.  This one is the 18th

The fight was over and Itzal mentioned that Birdie wasn't with them anymore. This fact made Aereth frown. She was acting kinda strange in the last couple of days. "You really think, she's ok?" he asked Itzal and turned into the direcition where the exit of the dungeon was. "I'm sure I can catch up and ask her what's up..." Aereth was worried and had a bad feeling about the whole situation. He liked Birdie as a kind of rival and friend, so it was only natural for him to be worried about her. "Maybe I'll go and talk with Arc on a later day..." he thought and turned back to the group when Itzal ensured him how he would talk with her after the dungeon was done...

When the path they were walking on split into three. Itzal told them that one of them led to a trap, another one to a possible chest and the last one deeper into the dungeon. "Well then let's see if we can grab that chest, I'd say." Aereth answered his teacher.

Itzal nodded to Aereth.  "Yeah don't worry man, I'll talk to her.   and dashed down the corridor and stopped as he reached the end.  It appeared to be an ordinary wall but that's what he had meant by concealed room.  He slid his hands along the wall until he found a stone that was out of place, pushing it in and and opening the doorway.  Inside was a chest just waiting to be opened.  Itzal knew that the loot would most likely be pathetic but it would be something extra to add to the guild's treasury.  He opened his menu and switched his ring to the Thief's eyes.  The ring helped him in his attempt to pick locks, but it wasn't very good help.  The percent chance for getting the actually good loot was ten percent, maybe five percent chance.  He sat down in front of it and pulled out his tools.
