"Wha?" Jevi blinked behind her mask. Mari had gotten the impression that Jevi was irritated that Lancaster had showed up, despite their doubts. Did Jevi have a twinge of jealousy, especially after seeing how head-over-heels she was for the man? Yes. Was she going to admit that? Absolutely not. "Nah nah." Jevi dismissed the claims with a wave of her hand. "Just got a bit defensive, thought some rando was tryin' to smooth us over, butter us up." She shrugged her shoulders lazily, "Maybe its the alcohol, I dunno.. been awhile since I've.. felt it." "Guess if you wanna blame it on some

Reytac watched, his head turning as the ‘werewolf’ circled around him, a bright grin left unseen on his face. This was probably the best part of his costume – the fact that, even better than a mask, people couldn’t see his facial expression as he smile widely at the various costumes and decorations that he had been seeing. The woman’s costume was a good one, and he honestly couldn’t tell if her stance had been adjusted to be more animalistic, or if she was doing that herself to fit the appearance she was working with. Either way, it was phenomenal. ”It is, yes! I sadly couldn’t get a mount

Reytac had been listening to the two women talk, and he took a deep breath. It was clear both had – gone through loss. Hardships, things that had worn them down, as they were both reserved and hurting. They hadn’t known each other before, but it was clear that there was a level of – camaraderie that was born of shared suffering, a kinship that made him an unintended outcast. He’d have to agree though, at least somewhat – he didn’t think riding as one of the Four horsemen would be something that could be fun in the first place – necessary, perhaps, but fun, to be one of the harbingers of death?

Mari didn't expect Jomei to give his real name, but she didn't show it. She had to keep her resolve in check. She couldn't falter. The air was thick with the smell of singed cloth and flesh and it made her nauseous, she was used to such scents but did not like how they lingered in this constricted space. "Real name?" Mari asked. The question was supposed to be taboo, but she needed to know everything she could about him. Mari had no intention of letting him live. She wanted him scared. Wanted him to have a chance to repent. He still had a green cursor after all. She had to give him the benefit

The ball was halfway through the air before 3ulogy’s mind registered it’s trajectory. As the bomb entered his right hand, he squeezed too hard and the glass ball popped out, sailing back to Mari. Stumbling forward, he caught it with the other hand, only for it to slip out yet again. With a firm *smack,* 3ulogy closed both hands around the fragile bomb, waiting a moment to make sure it would not escape again. “I meant to do that. I was just messing with you.” 3ulogy tossed his shaggy hair back with feigned casualness. “I can be trusted with explosives.” “Didn’t like it, but I was g

Flames. Screams. Mari gave the man a chance to come clean and tell the truth. But he had decided to try and lie their way out of this, once again trying to pin the blame on Laughing Coffin. She didn't give him a chance to finish speaking his accusation. The sharp end of her halberd pierced the man's armor and plunged into his chest. Jomei winced, reminding himself that maybe this was a bit out of his element. Yet he kept his composure and allowed Mari to continue. But the moment the man became engulfed in flames, originating from the point of contact with Mari's weapon, Jomei ave

"I..." Mari stared at Eulogy. IS this kid actually 18? He's acting like a bloody 12 year old. Mari began to question if it was a good idea to show him any of this...especially if he was calling acid fizzy liquids. "Acid." Mari corrected him. "It's acid." Lord help her, if she wasn't used to dealing with Chaser she'd have thrown this kid out on his ass already. Mari drew in a deep breath and held it, exhaling slowly. Excitement to teach someone beginning to wane. How could she show him if he could barely comprehend what acid was? "Maybe....this is a little too complicated to start with." Mari

Boy, she was saying a lot of funny words. Night-trick acid? Hydro-floric? Probably something to do with flowers. It was a lot of details for 3ulogy; he tried to not get wrapped up in those. “So the shiny thing goes into the fizzy liquids and then you make sure it only touches the bad people.” He nodded slowly. Mari countered 3ulogy’s thoughts about the effects of Floor 10. “So you can go insane? That’s crazy. I mean, literally, I guess. But… who’s going around making floors that drive you crazy? That just seems dumb. I guess it’s a good thing I move around a lot. Maybe I should move

Reytac watched as Cascade got herself back under control, her shoulders shaking as she marshaled herself and stood back up. He rose up next to her, and shook his head slightly. ”Nothing to be worried about. They're a dime a dozen from a normal vendor, I've got about six spare still Miss Cascade.” He didn’t need the young woman worrying about trying to repay him or anything silly like that. Offering support to someone who was struggling was just – to him, the right thing to do. ”The only thing I’d ask, Miss Cascade, is that when we finish this quest, you take some time to recover yourself.

To: Lessa Subject: Re: Re: Dinner? A housewarming dinner sounds perfect. Just need to make one last stop. See you soon. Jomei A canopy of reds and oranges broke away into a mere spattering of trees as the Fire Forest opened up into rolling fields of yellow and green. A gentle breeze carried the smell of the sea as it blew across the pastures, blades of grass caught in the gust waving at the man as he traveled the path. His gaze would follow a herd of horses, six in total, as they galloped across the open land. The beating of their hooves agai

Alinta replied to Alinta's topic in Beginner Floors
Its always people that ruin good things. “Not you.” Alinta said quietly, far too long after the conversation had ended for him to truly get her meaning. Scar would no doubt look over at her with a confused quirk to his angled brow, but Alinta would simply reach up and wipe the sand from his face, repeating her sentiment. “Not you.” As they watched the old man quietly sob, clutching the letters as though they were the only thing that truly mattered in the worl Alinta couldn’t help but find her hand fall into Scars. Why was she so awkward with him? It hadn’t been like this with o -

Reytac replied to Reytac's topic in Intermediate Floors
Reytac had watched, quietly, as Teion poured out the last glass of whiskey, letting the amber liquid splash to the ground. Remorse had stolen over the purple-haired woman, and he could see in her features that she was locked up in some memories as she murmured softly to herself. He let her take a quiet moment to grieve, then nodded and stood up with her when she reminded him that the creepy, abandoned bar in the town where trusting their senses didn’t seem to work was probably not a great idea. ”I’d honestly forgotten that this wasn’t a safe zone..” The reminder had made him tense up, and -

The wild storm battered the cliffs around them with its howling force, the crashing waves and wind rattling the walls as if a wildly scratching animal was trying to get in. Jack still had sand on his shirt, which was picking at the bottom of the wall where he was leaning against the stone. His breathing was even now, adrenaline slowly leaving his system and taking with it only the faint sore feeling of the line of shallow cuts and the tight feeling of his chest. The fight, short as it was, had come to an end. The desert, however, was never done testing them. He glanced at Alinta. She sat -

Reytac replied to Nari-Lanreth's topic in Beginner Floors
After they had ascertained that Reytac was not any kind of threat, the two skeletal dragons had continued ignoring him, even as he walked in front of them and looked around. He thought he spotted a familiar black-plated figure ahead of him, but he wasn’t sure just yet – and they were talking with another figure, so he wasn’t going to shout out and interject into another conversation. But when the armored figure turned around, he saw Nari’s hair and face, and he smiled slightly and gave her a wave as she called out to him. A Garden? ”Hello to you as well Miss Nari, nice seeing a friendl -
Az let out a small giggle as the girl inspected the floor a bit. Some downtime could be good. And yeah, the girl was right about it looking like Alice in Wonderland if you thought hard enough. "Who knows, maybe a bunny would show up at some point," Az said lightheartedly towards the girl. As the girl got up again and pointed out the mask, Az nodded, "Yes, to keep even those amongst us a bit hidden from others," She said, knowing fully well that some people did not want to be seen in these places. The Music was decent enough to dance to, and the steps Az already made in her head were easy

Post Action: Safely Escort Zamek to the Hiding Spot ID:255952 CD:11 - NO DAMAGE “Not angry with you…” Alinta said quietly. Feeling worse now, he thought she was mad at him? Maybe she was, just a little but… She’d lift her head slowly from her knees, then she’d pull her goggles off and wipe them on her top. Alinta began to fiddle with them, thumbs rubbing errant grains of sand from the glass. It was quiet in the little cave, almost cozy…if one could ignore the howling winds outside and the mutterings of the old man next to Scar. Alinta wasn’t sure how to tell him what she was feelin -

Post Action: Protection from the Sandstorm Jack couldn't help but chuckle softly when Alinta said they weren't actual players. The tension in his shoulders eased like a bowstring finally slackening. "I didn't think I'd react that way," he admitted, glancing at the sand that was passing over them. The adrenaline was only now fading from his system. "Guess I didn't realize until you pointed it out to me." His voice was half amused, half sheepish. For a moment, he almost looked embarrassed, like a child caught doing something impulsive. "If those had been real players, I probably would' -

ID: 255950 CD: 4 No Damage Taken Post Action: Find protection from a sudden sandstorm. The realization that they weren’t players set both of them at ease. Alinta, for she felt far more equipped to handle NPCs, and Scar… she wasn’t sure what ran through his head. His entire body shifted, becoming more fluid in his motions. No longer wound so tight that he may snap. Alinta couldn’t see everything, but his words and cadence seemed to further rattle the opposition. The woman struggled to string together a believable lie but Scar said it with such resolution she almost believed -

Scar replied to Scar's topic in Beginner Floors
The forest had gone utterly still. Jack pulled his breath back very quietly. His hand that was holding the weapon tightened. The Nepent kept moving in such a unusual way. The vines were stretching and relaxing, and the mouth was opening and closing looking for food. The place where the liquid had hit hissed more with every droplet. The burned places looked as if they were smoking. He studied its stance carefully. The movement pattern was predictable in structure, slow, with brief intervals of stillness. A patient predator. Its reaction time would likely trigger within a set proximity -

Post Action: Interacting with the Bandits Jack's heart was banging in his ears. Every part of his body was tight, wound up like a spring. Although the storm had quieted down to a murmur, the conflict between him and the three bandits seemed to be charged with electricity, it was like the atmosphere before a lightning strike. Not long after, he heard it, a voice of Alinta, calm and somewhat distant. "NPCs.." He stopped moving momentarily. Not players? The realization hit him like a wave. His hand clutching the scimitar's handle was so strong that his knuckles must have been -

So tight, and so close that she could feel his quickened breath on the back of her neck. It moved her. The woman closed her eyes and rested her forehead against his shoulder, the unbearable heat feeling welcomed in this moment. She heard the hitch in his breath and felt the desperation as he squeezed her tighter. It wasn’t just a simple hug. It was the way she could fee -

Post Action: Interacting with the Bandits The desert was like an insatiable beast, devouring them whole. Each wind that blew was almost like a creature of its own, screaming through the sand hills and biting any skin that was not covered with the most sharp grains of the desert. The goggles were of some help, not much though. They were more of a comfort than a true defense, but Jack was thankful for them nonetheless. Anything that made it easier to keep Alinta safe was worth the trouble. He could hardly see her shape next to him through the pouring sand. Small, holdin -

Scar replied to Scar's topic in Beginner Floors
The forest had gotten darker. The weak sunlight that managed to pass through the canopy above had a dull, greenish tint, it was completely absorbed by leaves that overlapped each other like the scales of a massive creature that was lying and breathing slowly above. As Jack followed the compass' pulse which was getting calmer and the red glow turning into a very delicate ember, he slowed down his movement. It felt like the right place to begin. He was kneeling close to some moss and removing the upper layer of damp growth with his hand to get the ground underneath. The soil was h -
His laugh died down, and was replaced by a quieter, much lower one, something that resembled a growl of amusement. He held her hand tightly, and the little noise of his worn skin against hers was done on purpose, to bring back the reality, "Fake it till you make it?" he quipped, the soft rasp of his voice melting with the music, "You'll find the body remembers things the mind pretends to forget." He moved, not with the sharpness of command, but with the inevitability of gravity. With a single step forward, the touch of the cloth against the other, the gap between them disappeared. Jack le
