[PT-PP-F01] Light In the Darkness (Let There Be Light)

The blank stare Az gave Cinnamon was relatively easy to spot. What was wrong with the name Lynn? It was easy and pleasant for her, that was. Who was she to judge a name, especially after calling herself Cinnamon to begin with and then looking for a rabbit? Oh, well, who was Az to judge others for their taste? It's not like she cared what someone thought of the name, it was nice to her. Az listened to the girl, and she gave a weak smile towards her, "Well, that makes two of us, but I usually don't dance at all," She said to her, and she let go of their hands, letting them step back if they

The small girl was guarded, did she think ill of Winnies intentions? She didn't think she was that threatening. Oh well. If anything, the young girl looked out of place here, rather than herself. Winnie may not be strong yet, but she was grown, and on a quest of her own. She liked venturing far and wide, to places she would be expected to stray from. The beauty of this world was welcomed in her mind. It was true, yes, the world was a prison, but being the divine she had a duty to carry out. One that allowed her the bliss of finding goodness in every situation. Her replies were simple, gu

The shadow she’d braced for didn't emerge as a monstrous NPC; instead, it solidified into a girl, small and pale-haired, rising out of the swirling fog. The air, which had been tight with an expectant hum, seemed to soften instantly, a bizarre contradiction to the unsettling nature of the Divide. Winnie's voice was gentle, a simple, almost melancholy, observation that took Etherial by surprise. Hello there. Fine day is it not? Etherial's hand instinctively eased the grip on her weapon, but the tension didn't fully leave her shoulders. She scanned the mist behind the girl, her mind al

[SP - F06] I'm Starting With the Man in the Mirror (The Gemini)

Reytac scrambled back to his feet, putting a little distance between himself and his copy, but the clone kept close. Not close enough for another attack, but close enough that Reytac knew that if he tried to run, the clone would be right there, not letting up. His hands were clammy as he tried to fumble his own hammer out from his inventory, nearly dropping it to the ground. “And then, what did you do when you realized you were stuck? You just hid like a fucking coward instead of doing something about it!” Reytac choked, guilt rising in his throat as he managed to get his hammer int -

Cautiously, Reytac took a step forward, one hand raising towards the figure. “Hey, look, if there’s something you need to do instead of this duel, I’m fine –” Reytac cut himself short when the figure spun around, the robe that had been clinging to it all through the woods falling away. Leaving Reytac staring at a mirror image of himself, from the scar and stubble on his jaw, down to the hammer that appeared out of nowhere. Reytac stumbled over backwards, falling to the ground as he dodged out of the way of the sudden attack, his eyes going wide as he stared at himself in shock. “Wh- -

The two of them passed through a wall of brush, and Reytac frowned as he looked around. For a moment there, it had felt like he was pressing against a film in the air, like something had ever so slightly resisted his passing. But when he tried to spot what might have been causing that, there was nothing, just trees and shrubs around him like there had been for the last long while. He turned around to question the figure again, only to pause, his jaw dropping slightly. There had not been a lake in front of them a minute ago, or a clearing around it. There had only been more trees and brush -

Reytac followed through the forest ducking past tree limbs that dipped down low into his way. The figure that was leading him had remained – not silent, since it would answer his questions, but very, perfunctorily. ‘Where are we going’ was just met with ‘where we need to go’ and when he tried asking what would happen, he was reminded that it would be a fair duel between the two of them. It was – frustrating, and a good reminder that this was not a player but just an npc. For a quest, apparently since as soon as he had agreed a quest log had popped up, but the name had been obscured, with the m -
Reytac ducked behind one of the buildings, getting out of sight of the trio of older Amazonian women that had been glaring daggers into his back for nearly twenty minutes now. He had not known what the caveat of this floor was when he first arrived to explore it, but he had learned very quickly. He leaned back against a wall and rolled his eyes – he hadn’t been expecting to be ostracized just because he was a guy, but man, all of the older npcs he’d run into had treated him like he was carrying the damn plague. “Excuse me.” Reytac blinked at the sound of a voice coming from nearby – a mal

"As I please remember?" The words echoed in her ears. Prerogative? crying wasn't a privilege, it was an indulgence. A weakening of someone's mind, a human course of action that occurred when the thoughts broke and frustration bubbled; giving in to the overwhelming emotions and letting them control you. With every bone in her body, she hated it. Though somehow, he had found a way to calm her, to soothe the hatred that burned through her. With each gentle touch and reassuring gesture, he had begun to change the war that raged within, until the dam broke loose. "Until you feel better.

[PP-PT-F14] Stakeholder Meeting of the Vampire Hunting Club
Wulfrin replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Cool sword," Wulfrin noted as he caught the blade tossed to him. "Good thing too. Wasn't sure how much my frozen stuff would actually help once we started getting deeper into this quest. Vampires are notoriously resistant to frost." Wulfrin took a few practice swings. The blade was well balanced in his hand and swinging it felt natural, almost as if it were specifically crafted for him and he'd been using it his whole life. Was it the system catering to his movements? He wasn't sure, but he did know that this blade would be crucial to their ability to clear the quest. The Sanctified Swor -
Dangerous? The only thing dangerous about Mari right now was that she was so deep in her cups that she might light the place ablaze if she exhaled too close to an open flame. She would breathe in the other woman's scent once more, the alluring aroma of sweat binding her perfume and the whiskey together. Mari's back pressed- no, held- against her torso, chest leaning into the exposed shoulders of the shorter woman as they swayed to the music. The two caught each other's gaze, icy orbs of azure melting behind partially closed eyelids as Jevi leaned even more into Mari. A curious hand

"Oh, now see these-" Mari pointed toward the scouts with the tip of her Halberd, these ones were very similar to the first lot, except their abdomens twisted upwards, walking on four legs, their other two like long twitching arms. "they're evolving. After a few waves they'll even have helmets and hold sticks. Honestly, its kinda predictable after a while." And, as they drew closer Mari simply ran her blade through them with a single lazy swing. "This gets tiring, but I feel like it needs to be done sometimes." Reytac took one last drag on the cigarette and tossed the butt into the campfire ashes, watching it snuff out as he held the breath as long as he could before letting it out. At first he didn’t know how to respond to the jab from Mari, before he gave a light shrug as he started following her. ”Less ‘not talking to you’ and more ‘convinced everything my newb ass said was just annoying you.” The two of them walked in silence for a little as he mulled over the ‘burnt an npc village down’ bit – before he shook his head. He knew, now, just what her husband had been a part of, and if he was restrain -
