  1. Past hour
  2. Bael had followed at a distance, his boots silent against the soft earth, eyes fixed on the faint shimmer of her cursor ahead. She walked like someone who had accepted the game's cruelty long ago, each step deliberate, neither defiant nor fearful. Her orange cursor pulsed softly in the dim light, a warning to others, an invitation to him. He watched her pause by the river, dipping a cloth into the water, cleaning her face with slow, methodical motions. She didn't bother to hide her disgust for the slime or the grime, nor did she rush the task. There was something in the rhythm of her move

  5. Astra lied on the ground, eyes fixed on silver starlight. The chiming chirps of frogs and cicadas, nestled in the forests, filled his ears. Amidst night's oratorio his favorite instrument was the soft sounds of Bliss' breaths. Her head nestled gently against his chest, a smooth and dainty hand resting on his abdomen, the warmth she radiated...It all felt foreign to him, yet there was no sense of fear in the unfamiliar, instead it was welcome. His whole body felt warm, his heart thumping to a measured rhythm. This warmth...Have I felt a feeling like this before? These feelings of de
  6. Warren, originally, had zero intent on joining Oscar’s soiree. Helping Abellio pick out his clothes was about as far as he’d wanted to go. He didn’t have anyone to go with anyway. And if he showed up stag to Oscar’s party, the man would never let Warren hear the end of it. It wasn’t as if Warren were setting out to be single, but he just didn’t see the point. Love on the razor’s edge, between people worlds apart with no way to rekindle the flame once they returned home? It just didn’t seem appealing. Why waste time on tragedy. But the more he thought about it, he realized that the pa
  7. “Wouldn’t I be the one holding the-” Oscar’s brow tilted up, his intent dead set on making Lessa’s situation as uncomfortable as possible. “You know, on your fa-” He grinned, shaking his head before the bit went too far. I mean, she wasn’t wrong. He did like wieners. That meant two things. “I’m kidding,” he said quickly. And then, even more quickly, killed another quartet of spiders. “She likes to make that joke about my Hot Dog Stand. But it do. Stand.” He sneered at Lessa, turning his attention back towards Murph as she examined her newly found tablet. Suddenly, he clapped his hands tog
  8. The growl that Kumatetsu cut Astra off with shook the ground around them. Wulfrin grit his teeth as the bear seemed to prepare itself for a much wider and aggressive assault. Wulfrin leapt into action, all previous defensive stances vanishing in the blink of an eye. It was time to push through to the end. The celestial steel blade in his hand hummed to life with a vibrant green, as Wulfrin delivered a massive and heavy downward slash that tore into the furry hide of their current enemy. Kumatetsu's form continued to grow as it reached nearly twice its original size. The oversized grizzly
  9. At Oscar’s mention of his “bunch of idiots”, Murph felt the gentle butterfly-wings flutter of nostalgia in her stomach. Had her dad not referred to his fellow police officers that same way dozens of times as she’d grown up? He’d loved them like family, and while they’d done their job well, they hadn’t taken themselves too seriously. If you can’t laugh at yourself, he’d often told her, then you’re doomed to a pretty miserable existence. Granted, she knew better than to throw herself at the first guild dangled In front of her. She owed it to herself to do her due diligence, and ensure that whate

  11. "Keep the pressure on!" Got it. Kumatetsu began to become more erratic with its movements as Astra and his master chipped away it's health. The beast swiped it's claws in a frenzy, throwing it's massive body at almost any position the two found themselves in. Astra leapt out of the way of its attacks, waiting for the perfect opening to strike again. Kumatetsu's fury was palpable as it narrowly missed the combatants. Eventually it would have to tire itself out or make a miscalculated attack, leaving itself exposed once more. Turning it's attention back to Astra, Kumatetsu barreled fo
  12. As the winds coalesced around Abellio, a new status effect appeared on his HUD. Hastened: Allows the Player to attack twice in a single round. “Holy shit,” Abellio said. “How long have you been holding onto this one, Vitalis?” Vitalis exhaled heavily, his eyes flicking up to his energy bar. It was barely hanging on by a thread. “A while. Energy cost is insane. I don’t even think I could cast a heal right now. So make sure you guys make this count.” If had been any group other than this one - Vitalis would have thought twice. Abellio nodded, immediately taking off towar
  13. Arriving at the tower, the group made their way up to the top through a ruined staircase. It was much larger than it looked in the distance. The trek to the top took almost as long as the trek just to get to it. Finally, after much effort, they all made it to the top. But they wouldn’t have any time to rest. “That’s a big fuck off dragon,” Vitalis remarked. “Hold on, I’ve got something for this.” Vitalis had been saving something in the wings just for such an occasion. The dragon clocked them, swiveling her head in their direction. Vitalis raised one hand and snapped his fingers.
  14. “Guys!” Lysette called from the top of the wall. She held her hand over her brow, leaning forward as she peered off into the distance. “I found the tower! You coming?” Oscar looked up, placing his hands on his hips as she turned around to look down at them. “How did you get up there?” Lysette shrugged. “Haven’t you guys played Mario? Figure it out.” Five more sets of wall jumps later, they had all made it to the top of the labyrinth. It was quite surreal up here, the winding walls turning in on one another. A different sort of maze, if you stuck to the beaten path. The
  15. “Hey so, we’re supposed to be finding a tower, yeah?” Sinnamon looked up at the really tall labyrinth wall. “So, uh. How we gonna do that?” It was a fair question. As far as Oscar knew, there were no such towers in the Labyrinth that made up Floor 25. There were, however, a ton of spiders. So he was very excited to get the hell up out of there. “Maybe we need to climb to the top of the walls?” Abellio offered. “I mean, it really seems like the only way.” Everyone turned their gaze towards Abellio. Not in such a way as to indicate they thought it was a ridiculous idea. Quite the
  16. “I AM OVER HERE!” Vitalis’ booming voice called everyone to attention. He stood outside of the entrance to the settlement, path barred by a big fuck-off minotaur with a wicked looking axe. “THE MINOTAURS CAN’T GET ME HERE!” The rest of the group exchanged glances, then quickly helped themselves to the food Oscar provided. After they were done, they made their way out of town, quickly joining their healer outside of the settlement. “Have you considered getting rid of that cursor,” Warren asked, draping his arm over Vitalis’ shoulder as they walked. “How? Solo quest. I
  17. Lysette and Abellio arrived on Floor 25 a full hour after the message was sent. When they stepped off of the Teleport Platform, Lysette was glowing. Looking smug, pleased with herself. Like the cat who ate the canary. Abellio was in her ear, whispering. His arm around her waist, his attention enraptured. They had arrived, in name only. “Sorry we’re late,” Lysette said. Her tone indicated that she wasn’t in the least bit sorry. Abellio finally pulled himself away from her, beaming at the assembled group. “Where’s Vitalis,” he asked. No excuses, no platitudes. Either it didn’t register
  18. Warren had been flitting back and forth from the cellar to the wall of drinks that lined the bar. He took meticulous notes. What needed to be replenished - what he would need to bring in more of. Much to his chagrin, the sparkling blackberry had been their best seller. He had rather hoped there would at least be one bottle left to sip on while he worked. Such was life. This was the most time-consuming part. Figuring out the what. The crafting never took long at all. He had made his list, quantities and items scribbled hastily in a shorthand that only he understood. “Alright Sin, I’ve
