SAO Regressive fanfic help
Hirru replied to DianeDelacroix's topic in General and Random Discussions
Oh boi, let's talk about the stupidity that is the canon system of Cardinal. Combat against A.I., especially the intelligence that most mobs used, was progressive enough to 1v1 a player. Without any sword skills/ arts, the A.I. will win as most players probably aren't experienced weapon users. Remember, this world is still VR, so your own movements are the key to fighting, and if you don't know how to use a sword.. well. It is one big reason of a few that 100k players died during the first month. In that, the game has its own way to help the players: Sword Arts. A system of locomoti -
"Bloody hell! When ya ask for a minute and the world says: 'ha no'. Guess I'll be slapping this on our energetic one." He would say as the fight would start out with the hunter using his energizing modification to give the rough around the edges one a full energy boost. If only he could take care of all of the energy needs for everyone, but that was something he could not do. If only there was a stronger form of energize that could push out more energy restoration, but that would probably come with a larger cost. If there were instant snacks that he could shove down peoples throats,

"Well, that settles that one. With so many cats, you would think that there would be.." A resounding roar could be heard from all around them. There wasn't much time between the fights it would seem. The cats weren't just piling out for them. No, they were surrounded from the start. Though, that only meant that they didn't have anywhere else to hide from the party. Detections ring out as a blip would ring behind the hunter. He would turn as he spoke. "Get down, Mina! It's com..ing?" He called while raising his shield up while giving Mina one more energized pulse. The bo

Two more creatures to add to the scene, and two more to take away. One of them was already taken care of while the other lingered for a moment more, but that wouldn't last very long. Arts were flying out in easy to track ways. In all the fighting, the hunter wondered when it would be the day that he too could come back to the fight. Pick up the sword once more, and throw an art out or two. Would that day ever come again? He had to radically change his entire build to become a healer for the front, but there have been so many times where he had felt that it wasn't worth it. Maybe these a

So many voices; so many faces. Too much to focus on, and too little to give. The information that Freyd, Morningstar, Mina, and himself took from the labyrinth was few and far between. Was there not a need to further their information gain? Wasn't there other ways of gaining more information? His thoughts would be drowned by the sound of voices and waves.. Hirru could only close his eyes and try to focus on the voices as they came up. There were quite a few that he recognized but a couple here and there that were unknown or not as apparent. From the information given, everyone was

A dungeon spawned around a field boss? The hunter was aware that this could happen, as he had fought one just like it before. Though that time, the boss was a quest monster that followed into the dungeon. Well, that quest boss is now freely spawning on its floor, so it is a proper field boss now. Did any of that really matter? Not in the slightest, but that didn't mean that the hunter wouldn't be thinking about it. How many weird and out right crazy dungeons have they been through now? Too many, he would guess. The number having long since lost meaning to him, as he cared more about be

It turns out that being fashionably late isn't always the best. There was a wedding going for one of the up and coming players that Hirru had only just ventured out with some time previous. Though, he was initially going to be joining the whole thing, there came a problem. "I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING PROPER TO WEAR!!" He was fumbling through his inventory for things that would be appropriate. Battle gear? No. Formal Wear? The only formal wear he had was the military uniform he got back during the valentines ball on the 26th floor. That was probably better than anything else, bu

"Well, I'd say we could go for one more, but let's take our time for this next one." He would look upon everyone's energy reserves and some of them needed a better rest than just a few moments. He would refrain from using another spyglass, so that their respawn time was slightly longer than before. Hirru didn't want everyone burned out from this floor and the burning sensations all around. Heck, without survival, Hirru had been cooking in his armor. Taking off the helm, he could breath once more. Not that one needed to, but the feeling was always there. "Let's settle for a bit.

Path A word that had more meaning than what Hirru really realized. To find his own way without knowing exactly where he was going. He had been doing so for such a long time that it barely felt like a path at all. More like a labyrinth that he has scouted many times over, but keep finding new routes each and every time. Though, those routes are always dead ends. It's only when he starts over again that he finds anything new. Seeing that NIGHT was leaning in to him, the message that had was hidden. Not so much from he himself, but from the player menu's initial settings. A menu

Hirru comes and goes from the first floor more frequently than he once thought. There were quite a few new traders lately, and it was good trade to get some businesses up. There was one that caught his attention. A modest little shop out on the outskirts. An older gentleman sitting by, or more waiting. The hunter was not dressed in his armor, to keep a bit of suspicion away. Not that it really did much when he would do something like the thing he was about to do. Stepping up to the man, the hunter made a proposition. "Good sir! I'm here for simple business. The items here are

They didn't need any push nor any advice more than what he could have given. They all had already defeated it once before, so the fight was nothing more than routine. Things could happen and someone could miss a hit here or there, but experience is always better to have. The hunter could only wish that he could join them more on the damage front, but he had his job and they had theirs. Speaking of his job, there was a claw user that needed another pep up. Was it always like this back when he was less experienced? He couldn't remember having used up so much energy with his arts, but

"Well.." Pulling out the message from Mina, he looked at the list of things that they needed from the 2nd tier field bosses. There were quite a few, but mostly the hellfire was needed for now. He did want to go up to the eleventh floor, but would be up to the group. That, and they had several other bosses on several other floors to get to. In fact, the list was mostly on the T2 groups part. "..We just got roughly four from that. Depending on certain things, we may need to kill it a couple more times. That's just the main target. We also got..." A long pause before while r

The Lion went in for the attack, but not with it's claws or teeth. The big kitty went in with a bound; pouncing upon Wulfrin? with reckless abandon. There wasn't much time for stopping it, but Freyd was already in the thick of it. Shredding the lion and taking the brunt of that damage instead of their trainee, which was good. Healing Freyd was slightly easier, since he knew the man kept his survival on and had his own battle healing. Running into the fray, the hunter would have his friend's back. Quite literally, as he had to get to near touching distance, rubbing his hands together for

"Well, that's also new." Hirru commented on the fan that Mina was now using. He could have sworn that was another part of the info being shared out. Projectile and Throwing capabilities were unlocked not long ago, and were probably going to be a new tactic to run with. The thought of throwing his shield sounded like a pretty neat idea, but the logic of trying to get it back pushed that idea away. He already had to run around to heal and energize everyone. He didn't need to be running around catching his shield like some toy. Was there a toy like that in the real world? Probably wou

The field boss was not long for life, nor rebirth. That is just how the battle goes against some of these lower tiered bosses. Enough firepower could easily burn through them, but that could also be the players downfall. As the Phoenix's death cries faded with its crystalline shattering, their rewards would be brought up. Each one of them would gain a Hellfire consumable, meaning they had farmed 4 consumables. There was a slight issue though. The group was made up of only three that would probably be part of the front. If Morning was vouching for and had invited Wulfrin himsel

There wasn't much to it. They were already on the burning, coursing, heat death that was the ninth floor. Phoenix wasn't even an issue to find, as Morning had the tracking capabilities to find the beast. The players before him looked to be ready for an onslaught, though that was only one of them. The other one that came to them in, what could only be stated as, arrogance? If they had taken care of the field boss here before, then there was no reason to doubt their strength. More so, he and Morning were there to take care of anything that happened during the hunts. It was only unfortunat

Yawning during the talk, the hunter wanted to pushed through when it seemed that the whole of them were ready to carry on the venture. It wasn't that he was disrespectful to Mina and her choice of training methods. She seemed forward enough with that. Their quarry would be a field boss among the lowered tier variety, which wasn't always great. Most of the time, there wouldn't be much issue, but the suggestion to lower themselves into an assisting role did come up. This was something new that had circulated the rounds of the info brokers. Supposedly, a party could gain more experience, bu

"Pretty sure that Phoenix is gonna take us quite a while. Not that it's gonna be hard, but it comes back after death. We'll be fighting twice as hard, to get multiple of these things." Freyd had sent them a list of field bosses that were around specific tiers to hunt. The ones that they were going for were the tier two based field bosses, which was mainly why the hunter was here. He needed a few more of the Wicked Woods barrier. Though, that was only for him, there were other buffs that were out there they could get. Hellfire was definitely one of the few that came in handy in the l

There will be a time in a man's life, when he must do what is good for the ones he loves. To give unto himself, so that others can survive and benefit. There will be a way to find what will keep the peace and tranquility of the world. Today is not that day.. "Freyd, why the hell is Mina calling me 'caffeine o'clock', in her message?" If the avatars could accurately show the state of someone's psyche, Hirru's would be tired beyond a shadow of a doubt. There hadn't been much time between his last venture, and a rather impromptu talking to from Baldur about what the fuck a moose

Fielding The Front [T2 Lock Down] As the jade haired individual looked upon the poster that he slapped up, he sighed heavily. There wasn't any good way to do this, but his hunter for hire posters were all but expired, and heavily useless. He wasn't a proper hunter anymore, just a healer that could keep people alive in most senses. His overall appearance didn't help in that manner either, as his main set of armor was made to look like a great knight, or something. He couldn't even use sword arts anymore, except maybe the more useless ones. "And they wanted to put these th

"To deal with all of this? You mean all of the rough work, or is it more?" The hunter didn't understand the question too well. What was there to think about? The raids were just overly complicated mob fights that could do more. There were plenty of things to figure out, but that didn't mean it wasn't a no-brainer. "For the most part, hunting for consumables like this is only a rough part of it. There are so many field bosses that even I don't quite know of, that may have worth while rewards, especially when they could help buff yourself or your party. Though, with that, it is a

As the beast rammed the shielding, the icy wind would bite against him as it enveloped the air around him. He could feel himself slow down more and more, but it didn't seem to really affect his abilities. A quick bucking of antlers and slamming of hooves, the attack would be over. Hirru was glad to have the ability to reduce that damage, but there would have to be some thing done about it. This chill was causing him to be an easier target, but he wasn't the issue. If any of the others got hit with that, especially Freyd, there would be more damage to them than what he could probably save.
-
"Fuck, if it isn't all of them!" Freyd asked him the question that has been bugging him for quite some time too. Why did the sight of bugs piss him off so? Was it the ungodly sight of things that should be smaller? Should they be smaller?! He couldn't say. Though, there were instances that really brought it out. As an array of hands tried to reach out to him as the snake passed by, the hunter slapped them aside with his shield. "The scorpions of the 5th floor with their paralyzing venom. The ants of the 11th floor with their burrows that extend throughout the floor. THE ENTIR

Everyone was doing their part well enough, but there were still many things that needed to be done. The unbending branches that one would call antlers were swaying and freezing along with half of the body. There wasn't much time until something would happen, but what was there to do? He couldn't do much at this point, at all. Keeping everyone's energy up while they fought was about the only thing he could keep up with, but as Morning circled behind him for protection, the hunter was reminded of what he could do. He had a very particular skill that he could employ at times like this.

"I'm.. not sure.." Freyd was making sure that the hunter had not mentally left him behind. Hirru was wondering the same thing, if he was going to sustain himself through this fight. Was that even a memory? He didn't remember ever going to the beach to relax with everyone ever. Not even to enjoy one of Mac's fanciful parties. So where did that come from? Who was that violet haired woman? It wasn't.. No, it couldn't have been her. The form was smaller than her, and the hair was fully violet. There shouldn't have been anything to cause that. Though, was it something that was innoc
