  1. She huffed as she turned the other way as well. So they were playing this game now, huh? Fine! Two can play that game!

The redhead marched in a random direction. Who needed them, anyway?

--she did. God, what was wrong with her? It seemed like everyone she knows was slowly leaving her life. One. By. One. But this was for the greater good, right? She could still protect them..! Right? She could still protect them from afar, or maybe she could always been close by, they just wouldn't know. Yes... she could still do that.

Why couldn't they see it? Were her ideals that hard to recognize? She just wanted them to be safe. Why could no one see that?! Safe. Safe. Safe. Why was that word such a far thing now? Why did it seem so far away? Why was it so hard to finally get some safety in this world?

  2. "Hm," he hummed, blinking at the ground. "You're an odd one, I can say that at least," he said gruffly, giving her a side glance before returning his slit gaze back to the daunting floor.

"I was from floor five," he replied, resting his chin on an ash colored rock. "But I suppose I could have been living here if I ever wanted to," Scarfy sighed, blinking tiredly.

"Everything before I met Kirbs is blurry, foggy almost. It seemed like my life just started when I became her familiar and I was really nothing before that. I don't know, it's weird," he shrugged, snorting briefly before continuing. "I'm not sure if I had a family or not but I'm glad I don't have to deal with another me. Plus, we've never really encountered another creature like me, but then again, we never go on floor five anymore, so I'm not sure if I'm a common occurrence or some rare creature."

  3. Kirbs slashed at the remaining Treant hastily, just wanting this whole damn thing to be over already. She growled under her breath as she sent a pair of roundhouse kicks to it, effectively launching into the air for a few seconds, to which she was already ready to conclude it with a final and clean sweep. As it was falling, she launched her spear forward, impaling it. The tree-like creature let out a low groan before exploding into thin air, leaving shards of blue in its wake.

Her shoulders were heaving a mixture of things; adrenaline, ferocity, anger, guilt, everything.

"No," she muttered, almost too soft for anyone to hear but herself and Scarfy.

"Do you hear yourself?!" She suddenly boomed, whipping her head to the much taller player. "Logical thought?" She let out a shrill and bitter laugh as she smiled at him humorously. "I'm the only one who seems to have the logical thinking, now!" She laughed again, slamming the blade of her spear down into the ground. "Everyone is so... so.. so blind. None of them are thinking like they should, because if they were, they would be thinking just like me!" She exclaimed, narrowing her eyes at her tight fist around the handle of her spear.

  4. She chuckled humorously and lifted the pushed back the damp hair on her forehead as she looked down at Scarfy from the corner of her eye. "Yes, well, Scarfy is a real eye catcher. He's not too bad... most of the time, anyway," she said dryly, turning back to look at the almost never ending rain.

"It's raining pret-ty hard, huh?" She sighed, looking down to massage her temples tiredly. "Say, you want to party up? Just to kind of get this water-dragon thing killed and out of the way for both of us?" She asked, mentally crossing her fingers. It wasn't really the rain that bothered her but the floor itself just felt pretty damn depressing. Like, come on, it was a bloody swamp. What do you want her to feel when she was going to be knee-deep in water that's almost as dull as her future? The only thing that was going to lift the very happy mood was [censored] popping out of the ground yelling, 'get out of mah swamp!'.

Yes, her life would be complete if she were to witness that.

  5. "I thought I told you to shush!" She exclaimed, frowning deeply at the NPC. Never had she been s disappointed in a program. Well, tut tut. She can't really do much about that now, can she?

"To answer your question, my good sir," she piped, holding up a finger up in his face. "Yes! Yes we do know each other," she turned her face away from the two briefly before muttering, "unfortunately."

She turned to Pinball with a coy smile on her face, "me and this idiot go way back," she drawled, winking at him. Slinging her arm over the NPC, she glanced at Pinball before turning her face back to Cassin and held up her hand as she whispered to him. "He's kind of a jerk, too. So if he scares you just a tiny wee bit, just tell me and then I'll sucker punch him for you, okay?" She finished, giving him an innocent grin.

  6. "Hi..." she mumbled warily, eyeing him closely.

Of all people, she just had to meet the 'therapist' dude? Like, why couldn't she have met Solei-- wait no, he acts like a therapist, too. Alec-- no, wait never mind. Why did all of the damn people she know act like they had a bloody degree in psychology?!

An unfamiliar voice-- wow, she has been hearing a lot of those, lately. What was up with that?-- rang through the once silent air and the redhead couldn't help but whip her head to the owner of it. Scarfy seemed to spring to life as well, maybe he wanted as much action as she did. That's really a mood, huh?

Scarfy didn't really seemed bothered by the player herself but kept it eyes more solely focused on that wolf next to her. "Always want to be the only familiar around, huh, Scarfy?" She sighed under her breath and nodded towards the girl. "Thanks, I guess."

  7. Kirbs narrowed her eyes at the minion she had just attacked, how was it not dead yet? Nah, nah, nah. She was going to kill that damn thing, not some filthy bleed of her weapon! She charged up one of her sword arts one last time and charged in after the minion again. Well-- thank God she didn't miss because she would probably have launch herself into the ocean if she did, haha... right? She wouldn't be the only one doing that, right? That's totally normal, right?

"Victory is mine!" She screeched, holding up her spear in total victory.

Her eyes glanced over to her teammates. Everyone seemed to be doing fine-- oh wait, no, Kityuisa is having a breakdown... wait a minute. Kirbs blinked at the girl and scratched her chin nervously. She wasn't a therapist! Hell, she was probably the worst person to help people in this kind of stuff. Oh, God. She felt like banging her head against a damn wall. Stupid brain!

  8. "You- you don't bloody understand!" She hissed, shaking her head slowly. Why did no one get her?

"Yeah," the redhead said lowly, "I wasn't like this before, but I'm doing it for a reason you people can't see," she drawled, already wanting to punch this living daylights out of this guy.

"Me? Childish?" She cackled, tilting her head to give him a dead grin. "What are you doing here, Alec? Can't you see that I'm just trying to mind my own business? This is all happening because of you!" She emphasized, throwing up her hands as she got right in front of his face. "You are the one that caused this whole fiasco to happen! None of this would have happened if you minded your own damn business and let me be!" Kirbs growled, her fingers twitching unconsciously.

"Why don't you just mind your own business and buzz off for once?!"

  9. "I'm not trying to get at anything!" She said, the hairs on her neck rising. She withdrew her spear and poked Solei on the chest with a harsh glare. "Just know that the other thousands of people out there," she took a moment to point at the vast landscape, "can kill you in a single stroke of their sword if they wanted to!" She hissed, her grip around her spear getting drastically tighter as she narrowed her dull eyes at him.

"There's that damn word again!" She exclaimed, having the urge to laugh right in his face. "Help! Help! All of you should stop thinking that you can bloody help me! You. Can. Do. Nothing!" She spitted out, her neck snapping towards Alec to tell him that the same thing went for his as well.

"I'm not a damn murderer," she snorted, reeling back as her nose scrunched up. How dare he think that? Her, a murderer of all things?

She muttered incoherent curses under her breath as she activated a sword art and charged after the first Treant.

  10. Scarfy clicked his tongue as he stole a glance at the curled up Kirbs behind them. "I s'pose you could say the same thing to Kirbs, here... except the demons are trying to claw their way in, and she's dying inside as she tries to keep them out," he sighed, resting his chin on a small rock. "Guess we both have pretty messed up owners, huh?" He murmured, his body coiling into a spring.

"What floor were you from?" He asked, his amber slit eyes flashing towards the black cat for a few seconds before turning back to the almost pitch black landscape-- if it weren't for the pools and magma bubbling up from the ground, anyway. Honestly, this floor could've suited him well. He was practically immune to fire and he lived in the bloody desert-- so it wasn't like heat was going to be much of a problem here, huh?

  11. "Oh, shut up, you feral cat-"

"I-It's fine!" She squeaked, pulling her scarf over her head as she leaned backwards on a rock. "Uhm, yeah, Willow can take it. Good night!" She mumbled loudly before shifting her body around in a fetal position.

Scarfy slid off of her neck easily since she was just kind of passed out cold in a span of a few seconds. He slithered up to Kityuisa, eyeing her warily before turning back to Willow. "So, Tanine Willowflame," he chortled, his claws tapping repeatedly against the rocks. "What's the big deal with your owner, hm? She seems very off to me, I don't know if you felt like that when you first met her but the feeling hit me like a truck," said, flicking his right ear as he gazed up at the blondie again as if saying, 'I know you're hiding something and you better tell me before I claw your eyes off'.

  12. "S-stop it!" She pushed Alec away, bumping to Solei for a brief second before jumping backwards again.

"T-then please, just stop telling me that you could help me," she silently wailed, nearly dropping her spear as she used her free hand to push her bangs up. "Just stay out of my way if you're not going to forget me!" She heaved, her eyes glancing back and forth between to the two men feverishly.

"A-and you," she said, taking a sharp inhale of breath as she pointed the blade of her spear at the bluenette. "Don't think that you could just get yourself into this! I want you to stay very far away from me, do you hear me?!" She screamed, her chest rising and falling heavily. "You're not even level bloody five! Do you know how easy it would be to kill you? How easy it would be to wipe you off the face of Aincrad and Earth?"

  13. Kirbs' eyes scanned over the endless array of flowerbeds. How was she going to make things out of flowers? Maybe she could encase them in some kind of resin and plop them on to a ring or bracelet-- yeah, that could work.

She sighed and rubbed the back of her neck, and immediately felt a shiver go up her spine. God, it was weird not having Scarfy around her neck. She wasn't really aiming to go fighting today, so she just kind of left him back at the shop. Her body felt so much damn lighter now that she doesn't have a fifteen pound snake-fox thing around her neck all the time.

The redhead lifted her head at the sound of clashing, growling, and yelping. Oh God, please, no. She just wanted a free day, but the universe was probably going to screw her over again and make her see either a random player or some person she already has drama with--

    "Oh, it's you."

  14. Kirbs nearly jumped as a voice addressed her. It felt strangely familiar, but she was almost certain she has never heard this voice before.

Whipping around, she took a step backwards. Yeah, okay, she definitely did not know this person-- oh wait, never mind. Tilting her head, she took a good look at him before laughing to herself. "Right, you're that guy who made my old weapon a while ago," she said out loud, snapping her fingers.

"Are you here to do that quest, too?" She asked, sniffing. He honestly looked a bit too over-leveled for this quest. Was he doing it a second time or something? Huh, well that's odd.

Scarfy loosened himself around her neck and lifted his head to meet the stranger. Right, right, she's never brought Scarfy to that shop with her before. He looked over her shoulder and towards the very, very friendly-looking dog that Macradon had.

"That's a pretty sick familiar you got there," she commented, her eyes casting downwards to the three-headed dog.

  15. She laughed, turning her head to look at Solei. "Chill? I'm perfectly chill. It's everyone else who need to chill-- everyone who thinks they can bloody help me!" She barked harshly, whipping her head to face Alec once again.

"Why can't you-- don't you see?" She seethed, staring at him right back. "You can't help me. It's my problem, not yours! Mine! Why can't you understand?" She sobbed, fat and salty tears running down her face.

"So please," she begged, lowering her voice down as her bottom lip quivered. "Jus-just forget about me if you're hurting so much. I don't want to hurt you," she whispered, her glazed over and red eyes casting towards her feet. "I'm not the same person anymore," she choked, her hands gripping into tight fists. She wasn't the same person anymore because of him. She's changed all because of him. This is all of his fault.

  16. Kirbs was just about to attack the Treants again until she was blocked by a very certain someone.

    "What the hell-"

Her eyes nearly squeezed shut when his large hands wrapped around her shoulders, but they widened considerably when Alec's word hit her like a butt cheek on a stick.

    Talk?

"Talk?!" She screamed, tears already welling up in her eyes. "All they do is talk, talk, talk!" She screeched, bringing up her shaky hand to poke him straight in the chest. "Well, you know what?! I am bloody sick of talking!" She brought her hand back and pointed to herself with an almost crazed grin. "Look at me! All I did was talk," she spat, venom lacing around her words. "--and look where that got me! No, no, no, that was the past. I'm not going to bloody talk anymore. I'm going to take action, do you hear me?!"

  17. The redhead tilted her head as Dustin walked away soundlessly. What went up his arse and died? She sighed and turned back to Arabelle, who seemed to be having some kind of mid-life crisis, or something.

"Sorry," she said apologetically, smiling softly at the other girl. "I didn't mean to kind of force you out on it," she shrugged. It didn't really matter in the end. The whole party got the experience and profit, so it didn't really bother her as much as it usually would, even if she was in Arabelle's place. "If we ever go on another quest, I'll let you have first hit, if you want."

Kirbs nodded her head as she charged at the four wurms. She activated one of her more lethal sword arts and slashed at the closest one near her.

Effectively, the wurm gave out a loud screech before exploding-- kind of literally. Kirbs turned around and gave Arabelle the thumbs up, "three more to go!"

Turning her heel to where the minions were, she sighed. This was getting awfully boring. There seemed to be no end and the ocean was just popping one more every time the players killed one, and not to mention that she was losing energy, fast.

Kirbs eye twitched as she watched a random minion walk around. Is he a new one? How long had that thing even been alive? How long has he just kind of been standing there?! The redhead sighed, again, and chased after it. She activated one of her more less fatal sword arts and slashed at the minion that's probably been alive for too long. Hah, no mercy!

  19. Kirbs gulped at the very, very, very little energy she had left in the ol' pot. Maybe joining in too early wasn't such a great idea. She decided that she was just going to do a regular basic attack, because that always works, right? The redhead lunged at the Treant, driving her spear into its abdomen harshly, her stun effectively activating the moment her blade pierced the rough skin of the mob.

Muttering small curses under her breath, she glanced back at the still jolly and enthusiastic Solei. That man was sure something.

Turn her head back to Alec, she sighed and gripped the spear-- that he ironically made, haha-- just a little tighter. "Let's just kill these things and we'll be on our way, okay?" She whispered. If he didn't want to be around her, she was fine by that, but she wanted him to actually understand. How could he, though?

    No one understood her.

  20. She tilted her head at him and narrowed her eyes cautiously-- Scarfy, funnily, mimicking her movements as well.

"Alright," she murmured, giving him one more weird look before turning her heel and facing the other way. "See you later, mate," she gave him a back wave and returned to her route back to the town, not sparing a second glance to Oscar.

He almost reminded her of Alec and Bahr, and she hated it. All of them were trying too hard to 'help' her. Every single one of them didn't bloody understand! There was nothing wrong with her, and it made her furious that people were assuming that something was. Everywhere she looked, it's always the same face. She could see it. Pity, sympathy, even empathy. Oh, some people might've gone through the things she has, but no, no. They weren't her. She was going to do something about. She was going to change things.

  21. She stopped abruptly and narrowed her eyes at him. He wasn't going to get off the hook that easily.

"Okay," she said plainly. Oh, how she wanted to say a lot more, but she didn't want to hear another earful of remarks from his so she just brushed it aside.

Kirbs turned her heel and sighed as she watched him dash away to kill a couple more boars. She didn't bother sitting down this time, it was more work to stand up, anyway.

Her fingers itched to be doing something with her spear. She needed to let off some steam. It's been a while since she's hunted alone and not with people. Why is every time she goes somewhere, she meets people like Oscar or people she knows? Can't she just be alone for one day? Why is her room the only safe place she knows, now? She was never safe from people anymore.

  22. "Do I look okay?" She muttered lowly, her eyes glaring daggers at the ground. He was right. She was sick of it. She was sick of hearing the damn question all the time by all the same damn people. She was perfectly fine! Does she need to make a bloody billboard for people to frekin' see that?!

The redhead heaved herself up and rubbed her eyes. It was too early in the day to be having all of this bull. She blinked her eyes tiredly and sniffed.

Maybe she should've stayed in the shop today. Of all days she went out, she had to meet Alec and some random stranger who asked the same questions as everyone? Was her shop the only safe haven she had, now?

A booming voice nearly made her jump out of her pants as her eyes darted frantically over to Alec. Was something going on? Was something happening? Did someone get hurt-

A sigh of both relief and irritation escaped her lips as she realized it was just and only Alec. They were fighting Treants again? So soon? They just got out of battle!

The redhead groaned and picked up her spear, pointing it at Solei briefly, "Stay here," she said sternly before rushing off to help Alec in battle.

Kirbs stretched her arms as she basked in the warm rays of floor sixteen. This is just what she needed, but that the same time, it killed her to be here. She needed a break, terribly, but she felt guilty when she could be getting stronger in terms of levels. She slapped her puffed cheeks and shook her head. Maybe she could do some hunting here instead of full out relaxing on the beach. Yes, yes, that was the better alternative.

An unfamiliar person caught the corner of her eye just as she was about to leave, though. He gave her an... off vibe, but she didn't really pay much to it. That thing next to him definitely freaked her out, and it probably freaked Scarfy out just as much because the redhead felt him stiffen around her neck as he watched the two cautiously.

"Don't be mean," she muttered, frowning at her usually very stoic familiar, He's been out of whack lately, and she wasn't really sure why.

  24. Kirbs prodded at the bare dirt with a stick as she listened to the two talk some more. She was completely fine, why couldn't anyone see that? She sulked silently and rested her chin on her knuckles. She just wanted everyone to be safe, just like the next person! Why? Why?

It wasn't her who needed to be worried about, it was everyone else! People needed to stop putting so much worry into her and save it for themselves! She was replaceable, they weren't. She didn't need to be defended. Sure, she regretted some of her decisions, but damn, she didn't need other people speaking up for her. She wasn't a helpless dog!

Why does no one understand her? Was it so hard to see her ideals? She thought this was normal. To feel like this! Why are they being so hard to work with-- why is it so hard for them to see?

"Don't defend me," she muttered to almost nobody, her grip on the stick getting tighter and tighter.
