  1. "That quest was special for me," she sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. "Wouldn't wish it upon anyone, really." She sniffed, looking over to Mari. "Oh, really? That's fine, I'll see later then, I guess?" She asked, giving the girl a smile before she waved her off. She hoped that she would have a safe journey to. . . wherever she was going or whatever.

"I suppose I should be going as well, then," Cordelia mumbled abruptly as she watched Mari's figure disappear in the distance before looking over to the two other girls, giving them a sheepish smile. "Probably going to go home and take a huge nap. Egg hunting is much more exhausting than it looks now that I've done it. I'll catch you two later, as well?" With one last huff, she smiled at them and made her way back to the town where she could teleport back to floor seven.

  2. She sighed, rubbing her eyes. "I just hope things aren't too different to the point where life would be hard to adjust to," she said, shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly. "That would be difficult considering that some of the people in here won't be financially stable when they get back," she sniffed, blinking her eyes. The platinum-haired player rested her knuckles on her hips as she looked over to Shield. "Yeah, I'm in one, though it's relatively new. Mainly made up of close friends and people alike. A few of them would be at the next boss fight I believe," she mumbled, scratching her chin. She was certain that Bahr was going to be there, as for Oscar-- she wasn't very sure. All of his answers have been very. . . mixed. She wasn't sure if Lessa was planning on attending, but something was telling her that she was leaning towards a no.

Cordelia circled around another rock, deadpanning as she found another bunch of eggs huddled next to each other.

  3. Cordelia gave Mari an apologetic smile. It hurt her to see such a usually strong-willed women to be in the dumps like this, and she really wished that she could comfort her further, but that was going to be difficult when they were fighting a giant undead king.

"We all have our own moments like this, don't forget that," she said, her smile crooked. Of course, she knew that. Ask Oscar about that damned questline! At least Mari was actually hitting this thing! At least she didn't hit a total of what. . . four times in a quest chain made up of what, six quests? She mentally sighed. She swore she had never felt such anger and utter despair before.

Giving a final pat of affirmation to Mari's shoulder, Cordelia raced towards the Forgotten Time King once more. She inhaled sharply, dashing around the side of the massive foe before she repeated the same attack she did last time; a flurry of small gashes before

  4. "Gah, I can't stand that floor," she whined, tilting her head to look up at the sky. "Even with the Survival skill, I feel like I'm being burned alive in an oven." She whipped her head over to Arabelle and sighed. "Are you planning to do the upgraded version of that old Cerberus quest? Lord, that one was a pain in the ass. Hope you have fun with whoever you want to see, though."

Cordelia shrugged. "I don't blame you. Egg hunting is more exhausting than it looks. It's probably awfully boring if you don't have people to talk to while you're doing it, as well," she mumbled, crouching down to pick up another few colorful chocolate eggs. She already hated looking at these, I mean, look at it! It kind of hurt to look at it. . . stupid colorful chocolate ovoids. She grumbled under her breath and threw the eggs in her inventory.

  5. Cordelia landed softly on her feet. "Yeah, I've been under his wing for a while. Met him a while back," she grunted, rolling her shoulders before she went in for the kill on the last monkey.

"Alright, thanks!" She exclaimed as she watched her energy bar fill up from the corner of her eye, giving Shield a brief thumbs-up before she pushed herself upwards again. Her blade swung at the flying monkey in a vertical motion before she slammed her blade down on its head, sending the monkey spiraling towards the ground right before it burst into a flurry of blue pentagons.

The girl tumbled to the ground before she jumped up, an exhilarated expression blooming on her face. "Alright, the two elite monkeys should be arriving soon," she noted, tilting her head up to the sky as she waited for the next wave of mobs to come at her.

  6. She sighed, stretching her arms above her head as she leaned against another tree. How much more did she even need-- a few dozen? A few hundred? She sighed, flopping herself on the grass. Why was she still here. Why was she still doing this? Why, why, why.

She wheezed. Why wasn't she at home. Napping. Sleeping. Literally anything else. She rolled around. Good lord, how much more was she going to have to endure this pain. She rolled her head forward. Maybe she should just take a nap-- no! She needed-- she needed this eggs now. She needed these items now. Well, maybe not now, but-- she wanted them soon. Holy slot, absolute accuracy. She desperately wanted them soon.

No! Screw it! She was going home. She would much rather risk some gear over her sanity. Yep, it was decided! She was going to go home! Screw this! Goodbye Garden! And home, here she comes!

  7. Cordelia looked up in surprise before she tilted her head. "Oh, hello Shield. Fancy seeing you here," she mused, giving him an excited grin before she nodded her head. "Yeah, this quest is the only place that offers a consumable like this and I had some spare time."

The girl stiffened when the little gremlins appeared on the scene. Seriously, they couldn't even wait? Like a hawk, the winged mammals came swooping down towards her, and she was pretty much ready to take them head on. . . well, until Shield happened. She looked over to Shield in bewilderment. Lord, she had forgotten how loud a Howl could be. Cordelia sighed. It had been a while since she had a tank beside her with that.

Well, it didn't really matter that much, though she guessed that she was glad that they were off her. She drew her katana from its sheath, letting out a concentrated breath of air. She should be able to one-shot these things if she had calculated things right. By now, Pacco had already dove into her blade's reflective surface, turning it a pitch black color. She turned to Shield and gave him a thumbs up.

In a burst of speed and power, Cordelia leapt into the air. Her body whirled as swung her katana at the mobs, knocking all but one of them out. Well, it was better than missing all of them, at least.

  8. "Ah, pleasure to meet you, Mina," she exclaimed, cracking a small grin for the girl before she looked over to Alec, who's baby lil' bear just came around.

"Oh. You can trade in your eggs at this little stand for some pretty cool items, like enhancing your gear to a demonic or rerolling an enhancement on your weapon. Something I desperately need for the next boss fight," she sighed, tapping her heels against the ground a few times before she beamed. "So yeah, really handy stuff if you want to get your gear up and ready if you're planning to attend that. Are you?" She asked, tilting her head. Having another tank on the frontlines could be really helpful, especially with the sudden decline of pure tanks and such. But Shield has resurfaced lately, so that was great, too. "I'm sure people would be overjoyed if you were to come."

  9. Cordelia smiled whimsically as she watched Arabelle and Yuki talk. They certainly have their future planned out, wish she could say the same, honestly.

She looked at Mari from the corner of her eye before chuckling. "That'd be nice, but try not to buy out my whole stock this time, yeah?" She mused jokingly, closing her eyes for a second before she crouched down next to Mari. "I suppose so. Sometimes, I feel like this floor is the only one that has a normal landscape," she sighed, tilting her head to give Mari a small grin.

"Maybe not as exciting as a literal volcano, but hey, it's got four seasons. I'd trade lava for that anyday," she joked, standing up before she ruffled Mari's hair almost aggressively. "Plus," she added, crossing her arms over her chest as she gave a wink to the redhead. "Aincrad's finest tacos are made here."

  10. Cordelia stretched her hands behind her back. She truly hated this quest. It was annoying. Who wants to fight flying monkeys? No one does. No one.

It had a pretty dang good reward though. Something that could really help her with her crafting or whatever, but she probably should actually gather. . . y'know, materials if she wanted to craft something decent. "Alright, Pacco! Here we are again! I hope you're ready to fight a couple of flying monkeys again!" She exclaimed, pumping her fist down in somewhat determination as she spoke to her two birds perched on her shoulders. Poor Pacco has barely been out, well, not since the Easter Event started. Last time she had brought him gathering. . . well, let's just say that didn't end off a necessarily good note, but she was sure he was glad to be back in action, like her! It seriously has been a while since she had gone out of her way to do a quest that involved combat. What, a week or two? Was that long? Yeah.

She yawned, her hands going back to dangling beside her side as she approached the spawn point of the flying gremlins. Boy-oh-boy, did she not miss this stupid place.

  11. "Ah, that's great!" She exclaimed, clapping her hands together a single time as she tilted her head. "I've been really well as of the late. I've climbed far enough to be at the next floor boss raid, can you believe it? Oh, Pacco is doing great, actually, there's two of him now," she said, giving him a smile that showed no lie. "I didn't bring the two with me today. He isn't fond of watching me gather. I suppose it's much too boring for him now," she drawled, clasping her hands behind her back as another young girl made her way into the conversation abruptly.

    Talk about a flashy entrance.

"Pleasure to meet you," Cordelia nodded, giving the girl a smile. "I don't believe I've seen you before, either, but if these types of floors are the types you hang around in, I would see why," she mused.

"Anywho, are you here for the Easter Event as well, Alec? It's really bringing out a lot of people to gather and fish."

  12. Cordelia fell out of the conversation again, only nodding to the few things that just barely concerned her. She wondered if she would ever reconnect with someone like this. Though, she was sure none of her friendships were as strong as Baldur's was to Crozeph, no matter how much she thought differently. They had years under their belt, and she had barely just started making friends a year ago.

She let out a groan. "Retraining it was a huge pain," she sighed, squinting before she shook her head. "I'm just glad Mari was there to help me pass time, but really, just train it however you want. No two familiars are the same, so I'm afraid that I won't be able to help you out too much."

Her fingers drummed against the cup again as she listened on to their conversation. Dungeons. Bleh. Every dungeon she had ever done had ended off on a terrible note, especially the last one. Lord, she and Macradon must've spent an hour trying to kill that damned queen. . . bee? Ant? She couldn't even remember what it was right now, but all she knew is that it was terrible.

  13. Cordelia stretched her arms behind her head. She had just left Shield to his own. . . fishing. He should be okay. He was okay before she was there and he'll be okay after she left.

But that just really left her to walking around in the caverns. Seriously, she was too pooped out to be looking for eggs. One can only hunt for so many chocolate eggs before they go crazy, and in her case-- she was already at the border. She sighed, finding herself near the exit of the area before something familiar caught her eye; a very, bald head.

"Oh, Alec, is that you?" She asked, skipping over to the vaguely familiar man as she tilted her head. "Wow, it's been forever right? Do you remember me? It's Cordelia. I hope that the hair color change didn't throw you off. It's been quite a while since I had last seen you, hasn't it?" She questioned, giving him a wide grin. Alec was honestly the person she had been looking for the most, especially after she had met Titan. He was probably the only person she was even remotely close to that used a shield, really.

  14. She sighed. "Sometimes, I feel like I'm too far into the future. Lord, watch there be flying cars once we get out of here," she mumbled, taking a jagged rock as she poked another pair of eggs in a small corner of the rocky cave wall. First off, if there were flying cars, cool, and second, what the hell. She wanted to drive a flying car-- and--and a stupid video game wasn't going to stop her from doing that. She looked at him from over her shoulder before she nodded. "You and me both."

Cordelia yawned, throwing the eggs and rock into her inventory. "The ladder of anything and everything," she replied back, half jokingly and half serious. "Ladder of levels, floors, life. All the good and fun stuff," she sniffed, stretching her arms above her head. "Far too many ladders for me to handle but I somehow work it out," she joked, tilting her body from side to side.

  15. Cordelia hummed, finding another set of eggs behind a large rock. "I suppose that makes sense. I wonder how long these pre-prepared events go on for  then, if that were to be the case," she huffed, picking up an egg and throwing it between her hands a few times like a rubber ball. That was an interesting thought, though. She wondered if the players would complete the game before the intended completion. If they were on a path for that, would Kayaba stop them in their tracks, or would he let them continue?

The girl looked at him from the corner of her eye, wishing he would elaborate on that. Was he a frontliner or not? It seemed like a simple question to her.

"My story?" She echoed, leaning herself against the cave wall as she poked at his question. "There's not much. Just an ordinary player making their way up a ladder," she sniffed, shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly.

  16. Cordelia exhaled as she watched as her party continue to chip away at the Forgotten Time King's massive health pool. No doubt, this was probably the tankiest mob she had faced so far. Event bosses didn't even compare to this iron wall of a monster.

She scowled jokingly. "Only you can make bones jokes at a time like this, Mari," she muttered, shaking her head. Of course, she knew it was all fun and games but one can only take so many puns before one starts to insert knife in chest. Or in Cordelia's case, a big ass katana. Though, she was honestly impressed Mari could think of all of these on the whim. . . or was she? It wouldn't be totally unlike her to have some kind of frekin'. . . pun book or something. Yes, that wasn't completely out of character.

Cordelia pulled her hair back as she watched Mari engage the king once again, only to exhale a disappointed sigh. Of course, Mari dealt DoT damage. This is probably one of the worst matchups she can go against.

"Ah. . ." Cordelia stammered, patting Mari reassuringly on the back. She gulped, averting her gaze as she felt her cheeks heat up in embarrassment. "Don't worry about it, Mari. . . it-- it's, er. . . it's going tibia okay."

"Okay, bye," she muttered quickly, rushing out to take on the undead king once again. Tibia okay? That was the best she could come up with?

Cordelia frowned, shaking off that embarrassing scene from her head. What's done is done, she couldn't go back now, unfortunately. She focused her attention back to the task at hand. For now, the king's center of attention seemed to be on Baldur, which gave her a perfect opening to attack. Her heels tracked up dirt and dust and she swerved behind the Forgotten Time King, her weapon ready to INSERT INTO CHEST carve away at the mob's health. With a burst of energy and speed, the girl sprung into the air, rotating her body to deliver tiny cuts against the chipped armor before she slammed her blade down on it.

  17. "The next generation is coming off strong! I like it!" She exclaimed, smacking Yuki on the back a few times before she gave the girl a wink. "Keep doing what you're doing and you'll be on the frontlines in no time!"

Cordelia turned over to Mari and gave her a thumbs-up. "Ah, I'm just hoping for the favor and stamp. I don't really have any use for the other ones, except maybe the materials? I don't care too much about that at the moment, though. My shop has been slowing down anyway," she sighed, a slight sweatdrop on her features before she shook it off. "Only thing I'm worried about the boss is any kind of stupid mechanic. . . but considering this is somewhat of a checkpoint, I wouldn't doubt the possibility."

The girl sighed, scratching her chin as she closed her eyes in thought. "I never did it either, and I honestly thought that people stopped doing this kind of thing a while ago," she commented, her voice slowly trailing off as she took in the redhead's words.

Daughter? Cordelia's peaceful expression was soon replaced with shock and surprise. Mari had a daughter? Never had she expected that one. . .

    "I'm gonna miss that."

The platinum-haired player paused as her eyes took on a far-off look. What else did she not know about Mari--

"H-huh? O-oh hush. We were on the same level months ago. I'm still the same girl who gets lucky on all of her shots," she exclaimed, waving off Arabelle's comment.

  18. Cordelia ignored his comment and sighed. "I guess. It's better than nothing, though," she replied back, crouching down as she spotted another few eggs behind a vibrant crystal. "I'm just more surprised that they're still sending out events like this consistently. Seriously, aren't they tired of it, already?" She asked, poking the chocolate eggs with her finger before she stored them in her inventory. "Plus, who even celebrates easter like this anymore?" Cordelia mumbled, getting back on to her feet as she brushed her lap off. She thought collecting eggs were something they did years ago. Did people still actually do this in real life, too?

The girl looked over her shoulder and back towards the fisherman and tilted her head. "Are you some kind of frontliner?" She questioned curiously. "I doubt anyone with their right mind would come all the way up to floor twenty-one just to fish and gather some eggs, so you must be up in a few levels, right?"

  19. "Ah, well, I've certainly never seen this place before. I don't usually travel up here for anything, anyway," she mumbled, cracking a small smile as she walked over to him. She wasn't sure if she had ever seen this man before, which was a surprise. He looked pretty decked out in gear, so it was honestly a shock that he didn't even remind her of anyone she had met before. His name though, yes, that certainly made her think. She was sure she had heard of it somewhere. Maybe it was because it was a very. . . uh, simple name?

Cordelia's eyes visibly widened at his straightforwardness. Well, he seemed confident, but who was she to doubt his skill? "Ah, I see," she bit out, averting her gaze away from him awkwardly as she rubbed the back of her neck. "Well, I'm Cordelia. Pleasure to meet you, I suppose," she sniffed, returning her attention to what she had actually came her to. . . y'know, do.

  20. "Oh, no it's definitely something a tank should use, but most tank-ish people on the frontlines would prefer to do damage as well rather than fully tank. I think if you're going on a full tank path, a shield would definitely be a good start," she exclaimed, nodding her head. "It's really just that-- by the time you're on the frontlines, you have so much health that you can take a bunch of damage without having a tank build." She grinned, giving him a thumbs-up. It had been quite a while since she had seen Alec, but she was sure that he was still alive. A stone-wall like him would never fall to the hands of Kayaba, plus, she hadn't seen him on the Monument of life yet.

"Ah, it's fine. After reaching level fifty, I've been slowing down on gaining levels," she sighed, giving him a sheepish smile.

Well, mainly just because it's a butt ton harder to level now--

"So I have a bunch of time to spare, just message me whenever and I'll be sure to be there." She tilted her head at his question. "Yes, why I wouldn't I be?" She asked, a clear look of confusion on her face. What was the benefit of lying to him, especially after she had just dumped a bunch of information on his head?

  23. "Ah, [doo-doo], am I lost?" She asked to no one but herself as she looked around the area. Everything pretty much the same! Gah, how was she was supposed to tell where she was-- oh, right. She had a map. After two plus years of being in here, she thought that she would be able to remember that by now. Cordelia heaved a tired sigh and continued on with her gathering.

The girl scratched the back of her head. When was there a giant hole here? Had she-- how was she supposed to know? She didn't even know her left from her right at this point!

Cordelia poked her head as she looked around. Oh, it this was cool-- Her attention immediately focused on a lone figure. . . fishing? Was it an NPC? No, no, it was clearly another player. She huffed, walking over to the man. "Are you here for the Easter event, too?"

  24. "Does it sound that way?" She asked, letting out an exasperated sigh as she silently shook her head. "I've really on the lower scale when it comes to that kind of stuff." Of course, she didn't compare to let's say. . . Baldur at all when it came to this kind of stuff. Up until she had reached tier three, she had pretty much been winging her build and kind of just implanting random enhancements into whatever she saw fit.

"No, no, that's perfect for a tank. You're on the right track. . ." She hummed, tapping her heel against the ground. "I don't know of any incredibly high leveled tanks at the moment that deal with shields. . . most of them are just people with a lot of mitigation on their armor or from their familiars. . . one of them even has a unique skill. There is this one guy, I haven't seen him in a while, though. If I ever do catch him around, I'll definitely refer him to you."

"Oh, I wouldn't want to be an info-broker anyways. Those people have it hard if they have to deal with people like me all the time," she chuckled, her eyes hardening for a quick second before they softened. She grinned, leaning her knuckles against her hips. "It's no problem. Anyone would've done the same thing."

"Honestly?" She murmured, tilting her chin up to gaze at the canopy. "Not really. I do suppose there have been a few times someone had to save my ass, but I considered him more like a friend than a frontliner, even though he was already at that level when he saved me. I think it's just that I've met most frontliners at this point so it's hard to imagine them as frontliners-- most of them are more like family and friends to me."
