Post Action: AoE-I vs Bandits (17 Fatigue) She shifted forward, the young woman holding her weapon at the ready. These bandits weren't ready for a fight, she could tell, but she still didn't want to cause any notice that would lead them back toward Kagamine. Instead, she took a half step forward toward the bandits, and then once she was close enough to strike, she began to exhale. As she did, a small bit of frost came with that breath. She frowned slightly, unsure what was going on, but she didn't at all hesitate as the woman raised her weapon, slamming it down into one of the b

The path that led out of the room swept upward a bit, and the stairs that led that way were carved right from the stone of the earth itself. Astreya moved upward, keeping her breathing quiet and easy as she did so, not wanting to exert herself too bad on climbing up here. The heavy armor she wore, while this was just a game, was still quite heavy and she needed to make sure she still had it on to defend against everything that would be sent her way. There were likely more bandits here in the hideout, and she'd need to keep Kagamine safe. At the top of the stairs was a doorway- although

Kagamine watched the woman for a moment before he stepped closer to her, handing over the sword that she'd given him before to use. Astreya grabbed it, putting back into her inventory and then exhaled softly as she looked at him. She could tell that he did want to help, but there was a dangerous sort of situation here. If he got in too far and got himself hurt, there was no way that she was going to be able to make sure that he came out of this okay. "Look, there can't be that many more bandits. I'll just go ahead and, like, clear them out, you watch from a safe distance and make sure

"Hey what was that?" Kagamine asked, looking to Astreya as the woman was examining her own hand. "You just froze that guy. Like. Ice cold," he spoke, glancing at her with some concern and confusion. Astreya glanced down at her fingertips, before she shook her head, moving to sheathe her blade back over her shoulder. "Like, I should be asking you, 'what was that' after that display," the girl spoke, and immediately the NPC looked away, frustration showing on his features. "You said you knew how to handle a sword so I, like, gave you one. That nearly got you killed." The boy glan

Post Actions: The bandit and Astreya circled one another, as if seeking to find the opening in the other's guard. Of course, it was only too late that Astreya realized that the bandit was actually trying to get closer to the boy. Whether to attack him or take him hostage, she didn't know, but she did know that she sure as hell wasn't going to let the guy get away with it. Some part of her, somewhere, was wore that these were both NPCs. They were just data, they didn't have full feelings associated with them, and that they were nothing like an actual person. Like herself, and th

Post Actions: "Stay back," Astreya spoke to Kagamine, not really wanting the boy to get involved in this if there was good reason for him to stay back. He wasn't nearly as skilled with a sword as he let himself on to be, and Astreya wasn't really in the mood to babysit him. She frowned as she shifted her stance slightly, noting that between the two, one of them was looking to go after the boy again. With a low grunt of effort, the woman brought her weapon high above her head, leading to some shards of crystal beginning to form upon it before the weapon was brought down in a terrifyin

[PP-F01] Try not to die <<The Second Lesson>>
Astreya replied to Melodie le Breton's topic in Beginner Floors
"Bah you don't need to be big or scary to dish out lots of damage!" the girl cheered, giving her friend a grin. "But I think you could totally be a dragon if you wanted to. There's totally dragons in this game, like, another guy and I went and helped this other dragon with a problem she had with a mean dragon," she spoke, the girl's conversation seeming to slide all over the place as she spoke. "Granted his girlfriend was really mad at the meaner dragon and just took him out in, like, one shot. It was really cool to see," she admitted, giving a small grin. "Wasn't something I could've don -
[PP-F01] Try not to die <<The Second Lesson>>
Astreya replied to Melodie le Breton's topic in Beginner Floors
"What, no way! You can be the big scary dragon that's like, guarding the handsome prince," she spoke with a teasing grin, before the other mentioned Han Solo and Astreya's eyes widened a little. "Ohmigosh, yes. Smuggler and bounty hunter! Wait then maybe I can be the uh. The big hairy guy that's with him," the girl spoke, showing her complete utter lack of nerd credit as she couldn't recall the name for Chewbacca. "Anyway, he's big and tough, and so am I. That works way better," she agreed, unable to stop a small laugh at the whole situation and conversation both. "We'll both be coo -
[F11 - OP] Christmas Chaos (aka Come Eat All Of Koga's Food)
Astreya replied to Koga's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Pshaw. I just think people are being a little too uptight about this whole thing," the woman murmured, which was true. Sure- Blueberry's little pet had been the one who had eaten up the treats that had been put out, but the majority of them had belonged to Astreya and Koga... and neither of them seemed particularly put-out about the fact that it had happened. Granted Koga was way too busy playing host and being yanked all over the place to really have time to be upset, Astreya supposed, but all the same, she didn't really want to curb her words. "Although I guess, like, in another setting -
Post Action: AoE-I vs Bandits As soon as she realized that the bandits weren't just going to attack her, and only her, the young woman frowned, not at all okay with the way this was setup anymore. Kagamine was expecting her to protect him, and if she wasn't able to do that, that was a big loss not only for her and the boy, but his mother as well. "Hey- I'm gonna have you stay back for the rest of the fights after this one," she spoke, frowning slightly as she shifted forward, moving to adjust her positioning for a moment before she began to lift her weapon. As she did so,

Post Action: Howl vs Bandits 2&3 Astreya wasn't sure how well the NPC would respond at her side. It wasn't like she was used to handling this sort of thing very often, and she wasn't entirely in the know about how they worked as allies. The girl from the one quest in the cave had just followed her and Freyd and kept a safe distance- this one was actually going to be fighting next to her. "Okay so here's the plan. I'm going to get their attention first. And then you can come in once I've got their focus. They might get ya with an attack or two but we'll just focus on bringing the

"Dang, I'm not getting this to work right," she murmured, leaning forward to look over the materials again, trying to determine just where she'd gone wrong. It was hard to say- there were a lot of really small, exact things that needed to be done. Sh

On the way back to Fuzziel's cavern, Astreya couldn't help but to have the negative thoughts swirling around all inside of her, wanting to get out. Not that she had any real distaste or dislike toward Vigilon or Krysta, but she mostly just felt saddened by the fact that she didn't have Zack to rely on anymore- that he was gone, and he wasn't going to ever come back. The hollow feeling didn't last long- Astreya was good at compartmentalizing her inner sadness with things and broke it down, not letting it linger for too long on the surface. She glanced out to the side of the mountainous

[PP-F01] Try not to die <<The Second Lesson>>
Astreya replied to Melodie le Breton's topic in Beginner Floors
Astreya grinned in response to Mel suggesting that she'd share the loot, but didn't verbally respond. She wasn't sure if there was anything on this floor that would do her any good to loot from or not. It seemed like everything that was here was going to be below her pay grade anyway, and she really didn't want to junk it all if she didn't have to. It was easier if she could just go alongside Melodie for the experience, more than anything, which is what the girl followed up with, nodding along with her on that note, curious to see what would come of it. "I'd really hope not," she spoke -
Astreya glanced over at the boy as they walked, heading out of the prison area down the open door the bandit had come in, presumably having been checking for whoever had fallen into their trap. But with him dispatched, they could hopefully find their way out of the bandit's lair without too much difficulty. "How'd you get captured?" she asked evenly, mostly just curious. "You seem like you know how to handle that thing." The boy frowned slightly. "I was just trying to explore the forest to help mom find some stuff. Maybe just some extra food or whatever but I ended up getting caught
-
"What do you mean, help fight? Are you serious?" the girl asked, not really out of any malice, but genuinely curious. This was going to be an escort mission, she realized, and made an inward groaning sound with a smile to remember to tell Melodie about this. She'd mentioned that these sorts of quests were the worst... but maybe if the kid could fight, that would be helpful? She sized him up for a moment, looking him over. He didn't seem like he could take a hit, but she could pull all the aggro anyway. "Okay, here," she spoke, opening up her inventory, handing over one of the other t

Post Action: [x12] ST-I (12 EN) Roll ID: 202977 BD: 9 (Crit!) 12*16 = 192 - 40 = 152 Damage! Bandit Defeated! MD: 8 With the absolute lack of response from the attack that the bandit had performed, it seemed that he was a little caught off-guard. Whether that was intentional due to the game code or if there was something a little more at work here, Astreya didn't know. But she shifted, reaching over to grab at her weapon. "Okay you! Game over!" she called out, driving the weapon upward, slamming it directly into he center of the chest of her opponent, causing him to grunt a

[PP-F01] Try not to die <<The Second Lesson>>
Astreya replied to Melodie le Breton's topic in Beginner Floors
As the girl arrived, she grinned at her new friend, happy to see her now that they were inside the gates and ready to start the next part of the quest. This one used to be four parts long but one of the updates to the system had cut it down to being only three, which was fine. The sooner they got out of the introductory stuff and into the actual fun parts of the quests, the better. Plus adventuring around and doing a bunch of other things could be a lot of fun with a friend- usually Astreya's companion was her bird, more than anyone else. But as the other mentioned a cooking skill, Ast -
Post Action: [x12] ST-I (12 EN) Roll ID: 202976 BD: 2 + 3 = 5 (Miss!) MD: 10 (Crit) 100+2 = 102 -104 = 1 (Min) Damage! Astreya wasn't weak at all, when it came to this sort of thing. She had dealt with a lot of enemies before, but she realized that this was the first time she was going into battle with this particular sword and set of armor. Not that she felt massively out of sorts, but with the new techniques and the new armaments, she just didn't have the same level of control that she had before. "Tch," she spoke, the fear in her heart steadily rising, but as the bandit ch

Post Action: [x12] ST-I (12 EN) Roll ID: 202975 BD: 1 MD: 7 (Hit!) 100-104 = 1(min) Damage Despite the grievous wound the bandit had received, it looked like he was still able to put up a fight. Astreya frowned slightly, not willing to go at this with her fists. Technically she did have the Martial Arts skill, but she didn't really think she'd want to try and figure this out without her trusty weapon at her side. The bandit struck, but the attack basically just glanced off of her armor and she didn't pay it very much mind, ignoring that as she scrambled for her weapon.

Post Action: [x12] ST-I (12 EN) Roll ID: 202974 BD: 10 (Crit!) 12*17 = 204 - 40 = 164 Damage MD: 2 (Miss!) With the bandit stunned, Astreya knew that she'd need to take full advantage of that right now while she still could. The young woman shifted forward, beginning to move her blade in the practiced way she knew how to activate the Sword Art. She noticed, as she moved, that a few small snowflakes were created from the attack, but she didn't have much time to ponder or to look at that for very long as she closed the distance between her and the bandit. "Hrrraah!" she roa

Post Action: Tech-A (x12, Stun, 13EN) Roll ID: 202973 BD: 3+3(Acc) = 6 (Hit!) 180-40 = 140 Damage MD: 10 Stunned! Astreya glanced back at the boy who had retreated a little bit further into the cell, and she nodded to herself. This was good- she didn't want to have to have anything that would cause him any harm. If it was a blade breaking off or if the bandit threw a knife at her or something, she didn't know, but she really didn't want that on her conscience at all. Besides- it was good practice for her to fight on her own as well. Shifting forward, she turned the blade

"Me? I'm Astreya. Wait- are you Kagamine?" she asked, looking across the way from where she was, more interested in the voice than she was her own environment. Across from her, she saw a young man in a cell... but began to realize that she was in one too. Frowning, she hefted her blade, striking the door with enough force to send it flying open. She didn't particularly like to use that force... but she didn't really have anything to offer when it came to doing anything stealthy. Such was the life of an armored warrior. "Uh, yeah, that's me. What...are you doing here? Are you here

As the trees grew denser around her, the woman couldn't help but to start to feel as if something was getting the jump on her. She didn't like this feeling, and the hand around the hilt of her sword grew a little tighter. If her hands were free from her gauntlets, it would've shown off the white-knuckled hold she had on the handle of the weapon. She saw the building that appeared in the distance, noting that had to be where the bandits were holed up, and as she drew closer, she became aware that there wasn't a lot of activity at all. That sent off a few alarm bells- were they even her

The area just outside of the town was full of light forests, but as she walked further along the noted path, she couldn't help but to see things getting denser and harder to see as she went on. The young woman's hand went reflexively up to her blade, gripping the hilt tightly. She had no idea if there was going to be anything coming in after her, or if she was walking into some sort of trap, but she doubted it. Why would the bandits take the mom captive if she was the only one who could pay the ransom? Then again, maybe it didn't really have much to do with the money, which was a thoug
