"Yeah, yeah...a bit more, if you're up for it? Would be a shame to come all this way and not take advantage of everything." There were numerous groups of elementals and vultures nearby, the groups shifting around the lava rivers and pools in a pattern that Nari couldn't make any sense out of from where she was. "For now though I just want to lay here a while and maybe stop dying a bit." "Mmm...yeah a bit of resting is...yeah, I'm all for that." The response came, the voice sounding as tired as Nari was feeling. She laid back against a nearby rock, letting her head rest against it. She won

"Ha...ha!" Nari sighed as the phoenix exploded into shards, leaving only a dialogue message with her reward for all her work. She closed out the box, before letting herself sink to the ground. The fight had taken a lot out of her, and for the moment Nari wanted nothing more than to lay on the ground and fall asleep; heat be damned. Instead, she forced herself into a seated position, trying to regulate her breathing like she'd done so often before. "Okay...that was...that was intense..." Onóra's voice sounded as winded as Nari felt, the blonde kneeling beside her. The longsword had been sh

Surprise. They'd entirely managed to take the thing by surprise, their combined attack - coming from each side of the creature - had caught it unawares, unable to respond or retreat as the two blades drove into its body. Nari's scythe cut through the defences, leaving the bird open for Onóra's own strike. Both blades slamming into it, tearing into the health and driving the bar down once more before the two women stepped back from the creature and re-centered themselves. "Almost there...few more strikes and this thing should be down for good." Nari spoke through gritted teeth, the lengt

Onóra's blade drove through the phoenix, and for a brief second Nari wondered if it would simply end here, the creature exploding into the shards that would announce that they had defeated it. Her hopes, however, didn't last long. Instead the phoenix exploded into a burst of fire - not harming either of the two, but also signifying to Nari that the fight wasn't yet over. She spun around, watching as the flames landed on the ground a few steps away, before beginning to reform themselves. "Huh...I thought we got this..." Onóra seemed to hesitate for a single second, before she took up her

Another shriek as it felt the biting blade of Nari's scythe, the weapon tearing a portion of the wing off and forcing the phoenix to the ground. Nari leapt backwards, clearing the space between her and it, as it began thrashing around. The beak snapped, trying to catch anything in front of it as its fury and frustration came out - the pain it was feeling, or programmed to feel, driving it into an almost animalistic response. She could see Onóra on the other side, longsword at her side and ready, but distance kept between herself and the bird. "On three...rush it - it can't take on both o

Progress. They were almost there, Nari could see the creature faltering as the static shock coursed through its body. The shriek that came from it causing it to retreat, rather than press its own attack against them. She threw a grin at Onóra, the blonde returning the expression as the two of them exhaled slightly. The fight was far from over, but they'd already done so much - made so much progress. It wouldn't be wasteful to take a single second to reconcile, to enjoy the moment. "Come on...we're almost there...let's drive this thing into the flames of the river, before it can rebirth!

They'd gotten into the rhythm of the fight quickly, the two parrying the talons of the phoenix all while driving it backwards, forcing it into the corner they wanted to trap it in. The bird barely stood a chance, their weapons tearing into the flames and flesh beneath, unrelenting in their consistent assault. Shrieks of pain, frustration and fury erupted from the bird - not that it did any good against the blonde and purple-haired women. Nari couldn't help but see the beauty in their dance, a dance deadly for those who stood before them, as their current movements were proving. "On your

Nari's eyes shifted towards Nemo's back at the mention of the guardian, her eyes boring holes into him hard enough that she was surprised he didn't turn around. Before she could comment on it, however, Nora was already explaining her plans - how she'd never heard of foraging or fishing, and how her focus was on restocking. Nari nodded along, listening as the other explained their intentions, before adding a comment of her own. "Fighting is always the quickest, I've found. Although...with the two of us here, it might be...a bit difficult. The difficulty of the creatures is set based upon t -
Nari rolled off to her left, dodging the claws of the phoenix as she leapt back to her feet. The creature shrieked, its attention entirely on her as it tried to turn itself and keep its eyes on Nari. Its focused entirely on Nari, the creature never noticed as Onóra made her way up behind it, her longsword slashing into the flames and tearing through the creature. Another shriek, and the thing was driven backwards, the blade of the blonde biting into it and causing it to flee a small distance. Giving time for Nari and Onóra to steady themselves, to recenter their combative stances. The fi

It had worked, mostly. The phoenix had flown straight towards Nari, right into the reach of her scythe. The blade tore through the outer flames, driving across the flesh that barely existed beneath the flames that made up the form of the flame based bird. There was a single moment where Nari felt that elation again, that brief feeling of happiness at her success. "HA! This isn't going to be har-" The flames erupted outwards, slamming into Nari's for and throwing her across the rock and ground, leaving her rolling in the dirt as the flames burned into her. She screamed as her mind filled

They had already taken a strong lead against the phoenix, the two managing to drive it exactly where they needed it to be to strike it best. Between the two of them, they were dancing circles around the phoenix. Nari was feeling confident, almost sure of their success against it. Even with the reduction of their capabilities, the balancing that had brought down their normal strength on par with the phoenix itself. "So far...so good. Just gotta keep it up, keep driving it backwards!" Her voice carried a level of elation at their success. A smile spread across her face in response to the e

Her first strike went wide, forcing the phoenix towards the blonde. Nari watched as Onóra side stepped the bird, driving her blade at its side and forcing it off to the side again. Her attack had come instinctively, and Nari couldn't help but be impressed with the way in which their movements were almost synchronised. It felt like they'd been on the battlefield together, learning from one another, for a long time. "Drive it towards me...I'll stun it!" She called out as she rushed off towards the phoenix's right, her scythe tailing behind her with the blade held outwards. Without a word,

The two had already made their way up the small, volcanic mountain that had been the destination that Nari had been given. The heat from the flowing rivers of lava - passing them on each side - had only made the natural uncomfortable location of floor nine even worse. The kitsune, thankfully, seemed to tolerate the heat far better than Yuki had ever done, a small blessing that Nari was grateful for - even if she herself was having to suffer. She had always hated having to drag Yuki along, knowing how badly the fox had suffered for it. "We're almost there...right? Like, how hard could it

"Hey...hey wait! Aren't you...what's...what's going on here?" She didn't resist being pulled, couldn't have even if she wanted to do so. Onóra didn't stop, didn't look back as Nari questioned her, simply continuing to drag the purple-haired woman towards the main court and the teleporter platform there. Nari was amazed, in truth, at the strength and will of the blonde - a far cry different person than the one she had known previously; one who wouldn't have considered grabbing Nari and leading her out of the house and away. "We're going to hunt down a field boss, isn't that what you wanted

Floor Four. She hadn't been there since the move, returning to her original home. She wondered what it would be like, to explore the snowy depths again - that was, until she remembered the last time she was there, and what she had lost. A pang of pain rang through her chest, and Nari found her eyes blurring against the tears that followed. It didn't seem to matter how long it had been, the loss still hurt. As if reading her emotions, the small kitsune had come running over to comfort her, snuggling its nose under her arm and curling a few of the many tails around her in a supportive embr

Nari's entire body spun as she jumped, not realising that Onóra was behind her, or even awake. The small yelp likely didn't help, and as she turned to face the blonde, Nari could see the creeping of a smile crossing the other's face - taking pleasure in having startled the normally calm warrior, most likely. Shaking off the embarrassment, she answered Onóra's question, pretending to dust off her clothes in a dramatic effort even as she did so. "I got some intel about a field boss that might have something of worth...figured I'd go check it out and see if there's any truth behind it." She

Nari kept silent, staring at Nemo as he performed his introduction. She had been in the other player's position a while ago, believing that there was some monster in the garden that was threatening...well, it didn't matter. Soon enough they'd find out the truth, and Nari would likely be forced to repeat actions once more. Her resentment towards Nemo, once cooled, had begun to rise once more - and she forced herself to push it aside. It wasn't something she could allow to foster here, not now. Not when they were about to head towards the garden itself. "My name's Nari-Lanreth, but I go by -
Nari winced, not for the first time, as the troll managed to land a strike on Faerie. She considered stepping, considered helping out her friend in an attempt to bring everything to an end - but she also knew that Fae was far from danger at the moment. Instead, Nari stepped to the side, trying to draw the attention of the creature towards her - trying to give Fae some space to work and operate. "Man, you are absolutely ugly...going to enjoy when you become a collection of shards floating on the air." Nari smiled as she taunted the troll, not looking towards Fae as she tried to draw its a

Nari followed along quietly, still trying to make out where she fit in this small group of veteran players. Her thoughts drawn inwards, it was a moment before she realised that they were even in danger - the creatures coming out of nowhere and catching her by surprise, forcing her into movement in reaction, rather than anticipation. Pay attention idiot, this is how you get killed. She cursed herself silently, hoping no one else had noticed her lapse of awareness - or at least, that it had been so brief as to create no issues at hand. "Armour. Gotcha, let me just..." Her scythe was a blur -

She'd almost completed the order, the contentment behind the knowledge of such a feat pushing her onwards. It was the first she'd gotten in a while - or, well, at least the first major order she'd received in a long time. The last thing she wanted to do, was to somehow fault on it, or delay it later than she would like. She had a business to run, and that meant making sure her clientele was happy. "Which means getting to work. Alright, Mio?"

The message had been simple, calling Nari to the eleventh floor. She'd taken a few moments just to get ready, before leading the small kitsune out her front door and towards the teleporter. She'd met the green-haired knight not long ago, and had immediately taken a liking towards him - so it was no surprise that she responded to his request for help, making her way immediately towards the eleventh. "Hirru! Hey! I got your message, something about hunting down a local field boss who has some sort of...shield?" She wasn't sure if she'd gotten that part entirely right, but his message had m

Nari took the towel, trying to figure out what to say. She'd acted without thought, reacting to the situation and doing what she thought was right. Somehow, she felt like she'd overstepped a boundary - her old habits coming back automatically without consideration towards the change in their-no..no, don't think about that right now. Her eyes shifted at NIGHT's words, turning to look in the same direction. She expected to find nothing more than the forest and caves that they'd been in up until now, but as she turned she saw the glittering in the distance. Eyes going wide in surprise, she
