  1. Violet's boots crunched in the snow, humming to herself as she walked through Snowfrost. The settlement had a small scattering of players, mostly some of the braver rookie players that littered the lower ten floors of Aincrad. She only went down here on behalf of Freyd, and a few of his associates, helping to drag any promising newbies through the wringer just to get them up to snuff for floor raids. Usually, she'd be keeping an eye out for anyone that she could recognize from the frontlines, as that would be a relatively dead giveaway. She sipped away at the thermos of freshly brewed tea
  2. Violet opened the door, a smile on her face as she peered into the shop. It was warm and comforting, meshing well with the floor that it was on. It reminded her of a tea shop that she used to visit back in the real world. An old man was tending the counter, neatly packaged boxes of various teas stacked behind him on long shelves. "Ah, hello!" she chirped, her smile widening. "I was hoping to get some tea if at all possible, preferably something that could help me ward off some nasty status effects?" she carefully picked out a total of 6 teas, thanking Kingsley with a bow as he pulled down
  3. "God damn- why is it always you!" Violet let out a frustrated sigh, sheathing her blade as she looked at Freyd. "I thought you were Hirru and Ariel..! I got separated from them earlier, and I haven't been able to find them since." Violet had lost her cloak, leaving her with just her breast plate and what clothing she was wearing underneath. Her mask was pulled to the side, her dark red eyes filled with worry as she looked her friend over. The deep scratches, and ragged clothes were making her concerned. "Freyd, are you ok..? What the hell happened!" At his question at how she'd ended up d
  4. at Freyd's comment on her intel being incomplete, violet shrugged. "Well, with most of our network down after Rikers got almost demolished... none of us really have a whole lot of up to date information." she sighed, shaking her head in disappointment. "I'll probably bug you later for all of the details, but I'd much rather avoid mixing business with pleasure, ne?" Violet looked over at Elora with a bemused expression. "Those things get a bit more terrifying when they appear in groups of 5 or more." she took a few more bites of stew, frowning "Even a sweet little rabbit can be terrifying
  5. Violet carefully started to follow after both Ariel and Hirru, a look of concentration on her face as she kept her eyes trained on the ground. After the fiasco with the bears she wanted to make sure that nothing was going to jump out at them from nowhere. At hirru's joke regarding 'bear' traps, she let out a snicker. "I wonder what they'd set it with for people?" she mused, easily avoiding the remainder of the traps. "Maybe some rare loot? or maybe some sort of rare, tasty meal - god knows I'd fall for a trap that got set with some fresh katsudon!" a goofy smile replaced the concentration from
  6. The bears were still standing firm, looming over the trio. Violet glanced at Ariel and Hirru, her eyes scanning the field for anything else that could cause problems for them. Her blade was spitting out smoke, a faint hiss reaching her ears. Ariel had laid into the stronger of the two bears, easily whittling it down to a sliver of health. Violet charged up a sword art, her eyes focusing on the pair of Albino bears, a feral smile crossing her face. "Alright, lets go." She shot forward, launching into a spinning motion, as a wave of multicolored fire bit into both of the bears. The sec
  7. (Stun Cooldown on ABB 1 Refreshed!) Violet grunted as the heavily injured bear hurled her into another tree, a purple error message bursting into view across her HUD as her health bar dipped dangerously close to the yellow halfway mark. The stronger, less wounded bear had flung itself at Ariel, who seemed to have a much better time dodging than she was. 'Jeez, you'd think that the wounded one would have more trouble hitting people..!' she thought, standing back up with a grunt. She sprung forward, grabbing one of the bears with her free hand, before throwing it at the other and launc
  8. Violet's expression changed to one of mild amusement at the unintentional parroting. It was cute, in a way. "It's something that became a trend after the shenanigans with the shadow." she said idly, looking over at Akane. "Rosa started getting reports from people who had recently completed the quest after what went down, something about people being followed by someone who never seemed to have the same face. A faceless, nameless ghost that chases and chases." she leaned on her left hand, her eyes darkening slightly. "Gemini do usually follow the player around, but only on the floor that
  9. Violet snorted, easily ducking under the giant club as she lunged at the back of the troll. "Roger that, shadow man!" Lament bit into its skin, the troll letting out a roar of pain, swinging wildly around itself to try and dislodge her from its back. Violet held on, laughing as she clung to it, her rapier still holding into its thick skin. "Hey, would ya' look at that, I'm troll riding! Think that we could make a game outta something like this?" it would probably be pretty fun, and she could totally see a bunch of clearers herding some mountain trolls to a field, and just treating it like some
  10. “You trust her judgement, yet you keep guard anyway?” Violet shrugged at Freyd's question, a frown on her face. "Even friends can stab you in the back." she sighed, setting her spoon and fork down, her bowl already cleared of the majority of the stew. "He learned that the hard way, so his only solace is watching over me. Its... not like there's a whole lot else that he can do, y'know? He trusts... but he's scared that other shoe is going to drop, that one of you is going to hurt me irreparably. It's comforting to have someone watching your six, y'know?" her gaze drifted back towards Akane, who
  11. Violet let out a grunt of pain as one of the bears slammed headlong into her, easily sending her into one of the nearby trees. It definitely wasn't a fun start to all of this. Hirru had called out to her, saying something about getting both of the bears with an AoE attack, hoping to polish them off a whole lot faster.. She staggered to her feet, dusting herself off as she pulled lament up a bit higher. "On it, Hirru!" she called out, slipping into a crouch, before launching herself at the Bears. She stabbed into both of the bears, finishing up with her second attack by hurling the second bear
  12. Mina Recovers 4 EN. . . The Troll wasn't very happy with either of them, it seemed, as it began to slam its fists into the walls around them, a loud roar shaking the entire tunnel as the virtual limbs started squirming on the floor, quivering in fear. Even the enemies seemed to be frightened by... whatever this thing had become. Or whatever had caused this to happen to the poor thing. not that she was really feeling all that much sympathy, not with it trying so desperately to squish both herself and Freyd. Violet ducked under another swing, letting out a yelp as faux-debris spra
  13. *Side note, my attack was targeted at Bear #1, I forgor to put it in the roll deets q.q Violet shrugged, tilting her head. "Never been on one before, so this is a day of firsts for me." she sighed, reaching up to scratch her familiar underneath her chin. She let out a quiet snort at the suggestion of riding on a vehicle, the idea not even remotely appealing for her. "I'd rather leg it, if I'm being completely honest." she folded her arms over her chest, "I want to enjoy our little trek, even if we end up getting slapped around like a bunch of paper dolls. Its been way too long since I've
  14. Violet let out a sheepish chuckle at the remark from Hirru, scratching her head in embarrassment. That had been quite the embarassment, though at least she'd only run out of damage towards the end of the raid fight, which was more than ok. Did it suck? Oh absolutely, but at least it hadn't been only halfway through. "Sorry about that, by the way! I should have brought some VIT food with me, I didn't plan ahead!" she said sheepishly, "I'll be providing as much backup as I can, I promise I won't slack off!" Akame had perched herself on her head, the tiny dragon letting out a delighted chirp.
  15. Violet felt her heart longing for home somehow, her eyes skimming over the lands of the new floor that they'd reached. Beautiful, sun-dappled forests that appeared as seas of red, gold and brown, framing a lively little town that looked as though it belonged in a story book. She was lounging on top of one of the brick-roofed houses, Akame curled up on her chest and fast asleep. Her eyes were skimming the town lightly, checking to see who was visiting the floor. only the occasional player drifted through, some of them being high-level players that were just drifting about, while some of th

  17. Violet was tired. every part of her body was aching and burning, struggling to keep her upright, that wave of virtual exhaustion that came from being out of energy making it difficult to focus. Her rapier was burning in her hand, the hilt spewing smoke again as she looked up at the boss, and at her team doing their damndest to try and finish it off. Freyd and Kataoka had done a massive chunk of damage with their blows, Elora and Morningstar following up with a hefty sum as well. The other teams were busting out massive numbers as well, aiming for a final hurrah just so they could finish t
  18. Violet let out a sigh, knowing full well that what Freyd was talking about. Pretty much all of them had become damaged at some point, resulting in a mish-mash of different people who were breaking into tiny pieces over and over again, with nothing to help try and put them back together. It was a whole different kind of awful. "No, I really can't picture anyone that even remotely counts as normal." she replied, her shoulders slumping. She calmly started stabbing at the grasping hands, lament slowly cleaving its way through the mutated flooring. she looked up, moving to turn towards Freyd...
  19. Charge CD [0/3] "Go get it tested again, barou!" she quipped dryly, "We're all crazy in this shitty world, kinda have to be if we're gonna live!" she was calmly swinging her blade around, the blackened steel glinting in the dim cavern light. A few moments later, Freyd had cleaved apart all of the goblins, the blue polygons shimmering around the air. "Good shit, lets keep moving." Violet made a face as one of the hands reached out towards her, trying to trip her up. "Eeugh, fuck that!" she complained, kicking the offending appendage, "I coulda lived without seeing random arms tryna dr
  20. Violet let out a roar as she charged at the giant dragon head, a bellow of fury ripping from her throat as she followed through with Freyd's request. They could not afford to falter, not with how close they were. And they were so, so damn close, that single health bar almost taunting her tired body as she tried to make herself keep going. Her energy bar was almost depleted, and it was forcing a wave of fatigue over her entire being, sweat beading on her cheek as she ground Lament into the burning scales of Brimstone. Her virtual muscles were screaming, practically begging for her to stop,
  21. Violet let out a snort at the comment about a murder hobo. "Buddy, I didn't call you a murder hobo." she interjected, "I said I was worried about how you were feeling after shanking people to help Mr. Man with a plan. But that's besides the point, I already know you're more than that. Why else would I keep hanging out with your crazy ass!" she frowned, continuing to lean on the button, a faint-yet-familiar numbness seeping through her arms. "Elements you say?" she mused, letting up on the button as soon as it clicked. "Sounds pretty fun to me, honestly. I don't think I've dealt with a pow
  22. Violet found herself swearing under her breath as she put all her weight onto the button Freyd had pointed out, cursing whatever Kayaba had been thinking when he'd designed this stupid puzzle. "He just haaad to add RNG, sonnova-" she growled, trailing off as she stepped back to try and look at the puzzle from a distance. "I'd probably be here for hours if you weren't here, jeez! Which one of these stupid things did you say not to touch again?" She snorted when he responded to her earlier excitement about Ronbaru with his mouth full. "Buddy, chew and swallow before ya talk." she drawled, c
  23. “And murder, really? A bit gauche for the dinner table, no? I actually meant her Ragou Rabbit recipe. It’s the talk of several circles that should otherwise remain nameless." Violet nodded, shrugging a bit. "Considering you guys have a relatively low opinion of her to begin with for what she's dragged me partially into... It was a valid concern of mine." She twirled the knife in her hand gently, "If you want to learn it though, I'll happily help teach you guys. It's a lot of work, though." Violet willed herself to drop the happy-go-lucky façade she tended to keep up, following Freyd's
  24. Violet drew her blade in front of her, black smoke wafting from the hilt of her blade as she held it up close to eye level. They were slowly starting to run dry on their energy reserves, with only a few sparks left for them to gather. Their entire party was trying their best, just to cleave their way through the last little bit of health. Only two bars out of the original six were left, and they were fully in the home stretch. The smoke from lament seemed to erupt into purple and red flames, licking across the blade hungrily, just itching for a release. No faltering here, they had to
  25. "Or, maybe I'll just need to try harder. We must have missed one on the way somewhere." Violet snorted at that. She could honestly think of quite a few of them that the pair had missed. "Yeah, we probably need to try a little bit harder." she replied dryly, a wry grin on her face. "We could always go after good ol Sando Satsu, and run it ragged if we're feeling lucky. I'd suggest the Shadow's fucked-up version of the Avalanche if it weren't for the fact that I'd probably get frozen solid trying to fight it due to my lack of the Survival skill." More than a few ideas were running through her h
