Alice screamed, again and again and again. She didn’t want to go back. She wanted to stay. She wanted to stay here in her wonderland. “Jack and JIll went up ThE Hill. I’m AliCe. I’M ALICE! Oh Jack be NiMBle JaCk be Quick…” Craized whispers as Alice tried to hold onto who she was, tried to drown out a feeble crack in her newly varnished veneer - one that asked her if this was right, the small voice of Ceres that would ask if the insanity was worth it. Then, came Tybalt - in a flurry of spun confetti and ebbing sanity he flourished in the field, a tip of his hat, a yank of a foot and t

The howling and snarling grew only more intense as the creatures stalked ever forward, assuming their prey would make a run for it and deliberately watching her movements in case Aeva bolted. Yet the girl could not bring herself to move at all. It wasn’t fear, or even the lingering effect of her paralysis, that kept her in place. It seemed to be something else entirely. Something at the base of the tree made it impossible for her to leave. Not that it would have mattered much in the end, regardless, Aeva was certainly in no condition to outrun a pack of ravenous canines even if she wanted to.

Shot after shot was thrown at Mari, and as quickly as they were slid over to her, she'd down them, sliding the empty glasses back toward Warren, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. "Do that again next deal." She'd give it time to hit her, but that wouldn't be enough. Warren simply gave her a nod, agreeing to the new rules set into place. Mari watched as Abellio shared his cards with Oscar, oh. Oh. So it was men vs women? A little unfair, considering how many more layers the three men in front of Mari wore compared to them but Mari didn't voice it. She watched as Oscars eyes flic

He could see that Mari was getting flustered. Oscar was all too happy to oblige her request for alcohol. Or, at least, Warren was. Without skipping a beat, he produced a bottle of whiskey from his inventory and poured out three shots, sliding them across the granite countertop one after the other. "For the record, I didn't agree to any of this," Warren said. "But I'll play ball." Of course Warren would play it cool. Oscar, on the other hand, had seen at least two of the women opposite him naked. He was surprised, however, that Lysette was into this fiasco. He might have thought that

“I…appreciate that…” Mari said as Oscar extended the invite to Lancaster, and Mari considered it. Really truly considered it. “I am not sure he’d want to come. I want him to make more connections after…” Mari lifted her hand and rolled it. She wasn’t going to outright say why in front of Oscars guests. Still… Still… Mari opened up her HUD; and messaged Lancaster Mari→ Lancaster: Im still with Oscar. Being roped into playing Poker with his friends. Did you want to join? I Lancaster → Mari: Not for me Mia Amore. Is your friend. Take the night. I will be here. Just as s

Scar struggled… and it was against her own weapon ... .Alinta panicked as she pulled and tugged on the wires, trying to free him. But it only seemed to do more damage than good, they cut into his skin, static causing his flesh to twitch beneath it. “N-Not like this…” Alinta whimpered, she had wanted to show off her fancy new weapon to him…to show him she could and would be capable. But this… this was terrible. Was the system registering it as an attack? It was an accident! She was tripped! The strings were pulled around them, not by her, but by some kind of puppeteer who seemed to take pride i

"Sorry..." The sound was slightly low and shivery against his chest, but it went straight through the noise of the club like a knife. Jack stopped, her hand seemed to awaken every nerve on his body. He could feel the faint tremor in her voice against his shirt, her breath warm where her lips brushed the fabric. "I'm sorry. I have a... confession." His heart thudded once, twice, steady, deliberate, but he couldn't tell if it was anticipation or dread that made it beat so hard. The music had quieted to a dull pulse in the background, a rhythm that matched the tension hanging betwe

They had a moment to rest, so Luke slumped down and started to nap while the others kept watch. <This is a dream sequence> Something felt… unwell inside of Luke as he considered the situation he was in. It was like a switch had been flipped and he went from feeling completely fine to feeling like he was going to die inside. He started to sweat at his fingertips. He pictured everything he cherished in this world going up in flames. “This can’t be right,” he said to himself, “it has to be some kind of joke.” He actually managed to let out a smile as sweat dripped do

Another cup taps across the counter, as Vincent twists in his seat to get comfortable. Four glasses down and another slide of the glass beckons for another. "Just like home...." He remarked limply to his surroundings, watching like a wolf from the brush a pair of sharp red eyes with flecks of green almost too small to notice. Vincent was ravenous and hungry as he'd scan his wife as she'd move to the music, finding the tension to rise and accented with every ounce of alcohol. An allure that dwarfed the surroundings and gave him a sense of peace. Intoxicated by the light drawing her beauty into

The world swam in static. Sound bled before sight; laughter, high, mechanical, rattled like broken glass inside his skull. Jack's breathing came in wet stutters, every inhale dragging grit through his throat. The scent of acid and singed skin hung thick in the air, sharp enough to sting his nose. His body refused to obey him, legs heavy, arms bound by something unseen, but his mind clawed for purchase, anchoring to the only thing that still made sense. Her voice. "Scar?" The word trembled. Not from the field around him. From her. He knew that tone. He knew it. The gentle pa

"Why don't you just get lost?" Okay, fucking rude. Sin had just spent the last few minutes watching some poor girl get absolutely blasted. She probably should have stepped in sooner - she didn't deserve all of that. But there was just something about the guy running roughshod over the woman that made her hang back. Not out of fear. Hell no. She wanted to let him dig his own grave. So she idly sipped her coffee, eyes closed and legs crossed, outside a small little cafe on the main strip in the Town of Beginnings. "We aren't here to carry you. What use are you if you can't fight?"

A set of tents all dolled up for the occasion The festivities a plenty all ready to go Grab your friends! All it takes is a little persuasion Lying in waiting and prepared to put on a good show Penned like a circus all regal and grand Pumpkins ablaze, all smiles an grins Prepared down to the finest grain of sand The evening promise and of curated add-ins A honest promise of tricks, a perhaps a meet and greet? A man slaves on offering adding whimsey to the fare To others a sweet tooth and a tasty treat A curious sort that is honestly quite rare Through hallowed

House Name: Tybalt's Funhouse Location: F25 - Shrine of Shadows {Wonderland | <<Down the Rabbit Hole>>} Description: A chaotic and zany place manufactured purely out of an unchained imagination in both whimsey and nightmare, where up is down and left is tennis shoes. A large tent seems to be a fixture albeit the interior changes on the regular, as well many other smaller tents that change by the hour. Finding a specific room is troublesome, discovering where you're going even more so. While present in this place, skills and gear seem only a suggestion and creatures you may find

Reytac plucked some thistles from the ground, humming as he watched Arbalest suffer the same fate that he had back when he was doing this quest himself the first time. But, thankfully, unlike him she didn't obsess over gathering more like he had, instead just focusing on returning to Zackariah and turning the quest in. She also didn't seem to be upset over gathering like he had been, so he doubted that she'd waste points on searching like he had initially felt he did when got levels and had the skill points to dump into it. He ambled behind her as she strode back into town purposefully, waitin

A bubbling crowd chuckled unending against what amassed to two actors in a play. No matter where they roam or what they say, it would seem as though it was here to stay. A performance where the running punchline was themselves, in all their comical resistance. A mask seems to fade in, floating and drifting through the air before it ending its persistence. From the ground a white gloved hand bursts free, A laughter of his own all bubbled with glee. "Where is Scar?" Tybalt beamed as he climbed out of his grave, a tight grip at the Alinta's ankle he pulls hard and makes her ca

“You could invite him over,” Oscar said. “It’s just a little gathering. He might find himself a bit more comfortable playing cards over a beach party.” Warren crossed over to the table as Oscar spoke, settling down as the others circled around him. He pulled out his deck of cards, silently shuffling them as he balanced an unlit cigarette precariously between his lips. “Game’s five-card stud. Jokers wild,” he said, the cigarette bouncing as he spoke. Lysette and Sin settled in, flanking Mari. When Warren moved to pull the chips out of his set, Sin held up a hand. “Oh no, no chips,” sh

Mari snorted. “Oscar…. You and I both know I’m not exactly a kind person. But - I appreciate the compliment.” She would offer him a smile that would fade completely when Oscars eyes lowered, Cordelia…hadn’t been messaging him either. Mari chewed the inside of her cheek. Not on the monument…not replying. She could be trapped somewhere, much like Mari was, a place that didn’t allow messages to reach her, or for her to contact the outside world… what if someone in the Laughing Coffin had taken her? What if Atan had? So many possibilities and none of them were good. Mari felt ill, she had to

“I’ve come to realize that I might have been a bit too black-and-white,” Oscar said as she mentioned the day-to-day troubles that Orange Players had to struggle with. In many ways, he knew that struggle well. Invoking his time on the street, his childhood teetering on the precipice. If not for his stroke of fortune, he knew in his bones that he would not be here right now. Enjoying a meal, a conversation. It all came down to that one moment, that one decision. Really, the best ass-kicking he’d ever endured. It would have all been worth a thousand of those. “That’s very kind of you,”
