  1. Astralin listened to Vigilon's explanation, and watched as he would punch another crack onto the boulder. "I see..." Astralin would listen to the rest of what Vigilon had to say, and would punch the spot where the two cracks connected. She dealt three times as much damage as she did with her first hit. "Oh, was that critical? It looks like the damage I dealt was better than the last time I hit it." The crack that Astralin had struck expanded slightly, probably because of the damage she managed to do this time around. "It won't be long now. Based on how much damage he was able to deal, I'm sure I can handle the rest of the boulder once he manages to hit it. Now, how to break it....no, better, I'll completely shatter it!" Astralin smiled, keeping this positive thought in mind. "Alright then," Astralin noted. "It's your move."

  2. Astralin would lead the way when the two players agreed to follow her. The girl would introduce herself as Pleue, and give the username's pronunciation and origin. "Aw, that's such a cute name!" The girl began to speak for a bit once again, but at least the conversation would keep the trip interesting. "Well, from what I know, I would say that Indigo is a mix between blue and one of those two other colors. Sometimes it looks purple, other times it looks like violet, but I guess that they just inaccurately state it as violet every time. The different kinds of purple seem to be brighter, and the varieties of Violet seem to be darker. For all I know, they could actually be the same color, just placed into two categories to separate the lighter shades from the darker ones. I currently wear both purple and violet myself." She would give a quick twirl, feeling the flow of her new light armor/garment, recently purchased from a shop. "The dress itself is dark violet, but the light armor vest sewn onto it is a royal purple."

    It wasn't long before the players reached the place where Evangeline Calora was...which was apparently a tent. An elderly female NPC would come out of the tent, and see Astralin heading her way. "Hello Dear, I see you are in need of a profession, may I interest you in Alchemy?" She smiled sweetly as she held small vial of rainbow colored liquid pulsating in her hand. "Now, I know it may seem very sciencey and scary, but I believe you can do it! And I hope you feel the same way." She beckoned Astralin into her tent to show her the way she crafted, her movements being very elegant and precise, her age showed that she was very wise in what she was doing. "Now, I can teach you all about it sweetie, but I seem to have ran out of some of my precious materials to give you a how-to on crafting, would you be a dear and run off to get me some? I think all I need is five, and I can help you on your way!" She smiled a sweet smile, she seemed to be happy someone wanted to follow in on her noble profession. "I'll be back soon!" She would say once she pressed accept on her quest notification. She turned to the other players. "Well, time to cross town again to leave the safe zone! I um...hope you don't mind me staying close, I have yet to become skilled with a weapon skill. I have one in mind, but I have to unlock it first..."

  3. Astralin heard Fayetta say that players could take up professions and create their own items based on the chosen profession, proceeding to ask if she wanted to pick up alchemy. "Ohmygoshyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyessssssssss!!!!!!!!" was Astralin's immediate response. She took a few deep breaths to calm down slightly, then she would respond normally. "I would LOVE to take on this profession!" Zachariah would hear this, and raise an eyebrow as he half-smiled, intrigued by Astralin's willingness to take up a profession like his. "If that's the case, you may want to visit my former student and apprentice, Evangeline Calora, later on. She may be able to teach you more than I can, for she has the time to train new alchemists, whereas I've got my hands full running this shop and helping you all start your adventures." Astralin nodded. "Right, gather alchemical materials, assist you with potion crafting, potentially see Evangeline Calora, got it!" Astralin would dash out of the shop, ready to catch up with the others that had already left for the safe zone's edge. Zachariah chuckled over Astralin's reactions, optimism and energy as Fayetta was walking over to the door to leave. "Ah, youth..."

    Astralin would manage to rush over to the safe zone's edge in order to catch up with the others. She hesitated before leaving the safe zone, but once she was out, there was no turning back. She did what she could to stay near her party members in case an unwelcome surprise ever came their way as they searched. She would find an herb, and so would Fayetta. "I found one too!"

  4.  Astralin did NOT like the whole whiskers thing. It wasn't really her style, not to mention she didn't belong in Naruto, or any show relative to that. She now had more than enough motivation to tackle the quest with all that she could. It was nice that Vigilon was indeed able to help, and he would punch the boulder hard enough to deal a fair amount of damage and cause a crack to appear on it. Astralin would get straight to it. She went straight for the crack, punching it right in the middle of it...and the boulder's apparent HP meter would hardly decrease. Astralin stood there, her fist still in contact with the boulder, her eyes widened, and her jaw open in disbelief that the boulder's hp hardly dropped at all. "What...no way... How could I have possibly been capable of doing this alone? And Vigilon was able to do that to the boulder so easily! Is...is this what can be obtained by powering up the skill? ...I will get that skill. I will get that skill and blast away my enemies with my own hands."

  5. Vigilon seemed to be surprised at the guess he came up with. He correctly guessed that her name was Libra, so it was clear that his mom didn't raise any dummies."Mmhm, that's my name!" He would say that he believed the name suited her, which was nice, in comparison to the usual nothing-but-surprise, and the disliked-and-occasional-bullying. It was nice to have her real name be appreciated. "Aw, thanks for the compliment, it really means a lot to me, since my name is kind of rare, not necessarily being used as a person's name often." In exchange for learning Astralin's real name, he would reveal his own. "Oh, you didn't have to do that, but that is a nice name." The NPC, once briefed of the situation by Vigilon, laughed at his words, then walked over to examine Astralin. The NPC seemed to note that Astralin was a bit of a rare case. Astralin looked to her hands, which were kind of delicate. Not exactly looking the part for heavy weapons and physical mass destruction...they were but the hands of a mage who cannot be one. The NPC would explain the task to Astralin, and make whiskers on her face using quick-drying paint. Astralin blinked a few times, then started walking over to the boulder that was her quest target.

  6. This Pisces was definitely a different kind of person. He joked on how she almost said her real name. "No, it's not french." She said as she crossed her arms and gave him a slight scowl. "I simply haven't introduced myself by my username as much as almost everyone else." Pisces would then speak to the younger player, who hadn't introduced herself, not that Astralin minded. Pisces asked her if it was a cuttlefish that her familiar was. The answer came out in major detail, and it was clear to Astralin that the girl was quite interested in the topic of what her familiar was, and although she let out more info than Astralin expected, she let the girl continue until the interruption that was Pisces...going the wrong way. "Hey, doesn't that lead to the exit? don't we have to go to Evangeline's shop for the quest?" She called out to him. "Come on, the shop is this way!" She said as she gestured for Pisces to follow. She looked to the girl. "You're welcome to tag along if you'd like!"

  7. (OOC: Maximum party size for the quest is 4, so I'm sure we're all good)

    The player who interrupted accepted the party request, and introduced himself as Oscar. He mentioned heading over to the seventh floor to prepare. "T-th-the seventh floor???? Aaaah, nope, I'm sure we'll be fine....th-the quest's right here in this shop, anyway, so, let's all go in!" She turned to open the door, unable to hide her panicked expression over the possibility of going to the seventh floor at level one, and entered the shop, hoping the non-combat quest she planned to take would ease her mind. Sure enough, she managed to put on a happy expression as she approached the NPC. "Hello, I've heard that you're willing to help adventurers get started, is this true?" The NPC would smile and nod. "Yes, young adventurer, I am willing to help them get started on the basics. You will need to get a glimpse of the land around us, as you find some materials with alchemical properties, then you will assist me in making some potions. No fighting will be necessary." Of course, Zackariah had Astralin at Potions. Her eyes lit up. "Potions?? We...we can make potions?? I can't wait to get started!" The quest notification would appear for all party members who hadn't taken the quest yet that were still under level 15, and Astralin would press accept.

  8. Astralin let out a nervous chuckle upon Vigilon's remark, until she heard him say that being named after a Zodiac sign was...cool? He asked about the meaning, since he could only come up with a single possibility. Astralin had to be honest. "Beats me, I honestly don't have a clue. Hm...if you're up for it, you could try guessing my name. You get one hint, aside from the bit that slipped out back there earlier." She would walk a bit faster so that Vigilon could see the symbol on her cape, which would be a bit of a giveaway, but if he didn't realize the hint wasn't in words, he wouldn't figure it out. Turns out, he hadn't thought of what to go with exactly if he was a Spellsword. He must have been so focused on what he could currently do, that he'd all but forgotten what magic was capable of. He only knew the basics of it. Either that, or it was because of his age, from what Astralin could guess. The boy was shorter than her, so she thought he was a teenager. The NPC seemed to be waiting for the players, once they reached their destination.

  9. Astralin was starting to walk up the stairs as someone came by and greeted her. He introduced himself as Pisces, which invoked a reaction from Astralin. "Pisces? I know a Pisces! She's one of my friends from the real world!" my, how she just simply blurted things out... The player said that he was hoping to become an alchemist and open up a tavern. "That makes some sense, I've heard of all kinds of places being used for one's profession. I'm hoping to become an alchemist, too, and if i'm lucky, I'll open shop in a tower, with a window that lets all the starlight in! Sure, I'll go with you!" There was another player hopping along the road who found herself speaking to her familiar, and she became a bit nervous when she noticed she was right in front of the two. "It does seem like a nice day we're having at the moment. Pisces and I were just about to head over to Evangeline Calora's shop so that we may learn how to become Alchemists! Would you like to tag along? Oh, where are my manners, I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Li- A-Astralin! My name is Astralin."

  10. After a short amount of time, the shopkeeper returned with two items. He was apparently offering another item...free of charge. "R-really?? That's very thoughtful of you, thanks!" was her response to it. The shopkeeper said she could try on the light armor and let him know if the fit was right. She placed the col that she needed to pay onto the counter, and took the items. Sure, she would indeed try on the new light armor...but she would need to be clever about it. "Sure, I'll try it on. If you'll excuse me for a second, just in case." She would walk over to one of the displays, place herself behind it in terms of the shopkeeper's sight, and use the equip system to swap the items, since the light armor was attached to common cloths. the apparel on her turned a glowing white for a second, and when the glow faded, the new apparel was on her. She smirked, now knowing how it worked. She walked over to a clear space in the shop, did a little twirl, and yes, it fit wonderfully. She giggled, satisfied with what she had received. "Thank you, it fits perfectly! I believe that will be all for the time being." With that, she left the shop, content with the items she had received.

  11. The two players would begin the journey as Vigilon gave his thoughts on what she said. "Oh, a Spellsword, eh? Interesting... I know someone who would also go with such a build. A friend of mine from the real world, Aries, would love the concept of wielding a sword in her right hand, and casting fire spells from her left!" Vigilon asked Astralin if she had an intended magical build in mind, if there was magic. "Well, I'm pretty sure I would have gone with damage-based magic. Other than that, I would have gone with three basic elements: Fire, Air, and Electricity, possibly delving into the Arcane Arts, should I have had the aptitude. What about you? If you could be a Spellsword, what would your preferred magic branch be?" This topic started to ease Astralin slightly, as the topic was one of the things she loved. Now, she was curious as to what Vigilon's answer would be.

  13. Astralin had learned of an NPC Alchemist named Evangeline Calora, who was capable of teaching players on how to become alchemists themselves. She wanted to make her own potions, she wanted to tap into this profession. Not all mages did so, but many would indeed tap into the mysteries of alchemy and potion-making. "I am SO excited about this!" She thought aloud. She would continue on the Town of Beginnings's streets, looking for the shop where she could learn to become an alchemist. Alchemy, Supportive abilities, the power of the hand...technically fist, but the point remained. She would indeed become a mage of sorts...someway, somehow. Maybe one day, they could all see that, in a makeshift way, it would be possible to be considered a mage. She had heard about various enhancements, not to mention that there were potions that, although didn't affect stats, had some interesting effects, such as hair color change, eye color change, and more besides those basic ones.

  14. "Summoner? Nice name, sounds like we both could have been mages if it weren't for that little 'no magic' issue..." Would be Astralin's response to Summoner's introduction. The blue haired player that Astralin spoke to first claimed that he was just looking around, then after a few seconds, he admitted that he indeed was waiting for a party of players to show up so he wouldn't take the quest alone. Before Astralin could say anything, another voice interrupted.

    "Did I hear you say you were about to leave a safe zone without a weapon?"

    Astralin turned around to see a player who looked as if he was trying to scold someone. He would say that if she was to try something silly like that, that she should let him come along so she doesn't get killed out there. "Kind of why I was hoping to have some allies anyway. I wouldn't be going with a weapon simply because I cannot equip the weapon I have without unlocking an extra skill first. I'm not very blade-savvy, you see..." She would then introduce herself to the two male players. However, she would encounter a bit of an issue, do to habitual circumstances... "My name is Libr- A-A-Astralin! M-my name is Astralin... *sigh*, I guess it got out, didn't it? Yes, my real name is Libra...my username is Astralin. My, this is gonna be hard to make a habit out of...So, are you all willing to start a party, so that we might take the quest together?" Astralin would then send out party invites to the three players.

    @Summoner @Fayetta @Oscar

  15. Vigilon would ask Astralin what her reason was for wanting to obtain the Martial Arts skill, giving two examples of a possibility. "Strongest? I dunno, Most Damage? Hopefully... Now, most Powerful, I can understand. I mean, I like the idea of being a prone damage-dealer...but I'm not very weapon-savvy, you see. I've...I've always loved the idea of being a mage. This game gives me a difficult challenge to face: Survive in a fantasy realm...without a magic skill. I've gotten the healing skill, since it seems close enough, I guess. However, it's left me without a weapon. Thankfully, I learned about the Martial Arts skill when someone gave me a pair of handwraps as a token of appreciation for healing him when he was wounded."  Astralin didn't want to get too deep into the topic, not knowing if the boy would be totally fine talking about it. When Vigilon said that Astralin could pet the frost dragon, her eyes lit up, and a smile appeared on her face. She began petting the dragon, and enjoyed the time she had began spending with the adorable little dragon.

  16. The player said that she could help, moving part of her robe to reveal her rapier. She also noted that the quest Astralin wanted to do had...no combat? "Wait, a no-combat quest? Why didn't I hear that before? ...Wow. Um...But I guess I'd still have to leave the safe zone without a weapon, huh? Right...so, anyway, thank you so much for letting me know." Astralin now knew that combat wasn't necessary, but it was still a potential problem. "Well, allow me to introduce myself, My name is Li- A-Astralin, my name is Astralin!" After the introduction, Astralin would head over to the building's door, but when she did, she saw someone muttering something. "Excuse me," She began. "are you standing there for any particular reason? Need an ally or two for the quest...since you just so happen to be at the door where the quest is given?"

    @Summoner @Fayetta

  17. Astralin would be spoken to by someone who seemed pretty nervous. They asked if she needed some help. "Yeah, actually. I'm without a single weapon skill, so I can't fight yet. I wondered if the beginner quests involved combat or not, because if they did, I wouldn't be able to handle them. I can heal, but nothing else at the moment... I really need to get out there and do something, but if only I wasn't in such a helpless position! Hmph, if only there actually was a little magic in this game..." She explained, crossing her arms as she huffed out that last sentence. She really wanted to do something, she just wasn't very blade-savvy. As a matter of fact, she loved the idea of magic far more than the most legendary sword she'd ever read about, or seen in a game, aside from this one of course, obviously.

    @Summoner

  18. The boy would explain how he had mastered the skill, and Astralin's eyes lit up. "R-really??" The boy would then notice that she might have wanted to take the quest, and offered to escort her to the quest's location. He even assured her that the only danger was simply being outside the safe zone. "Oh, thank you! I was hoping I could find someone who knew about it that could help me out!" The boy would claim that his eyes were, in fact, naturally red. He stated that he was born with them, and one of his friends even gave him a nickname over it, due to the trait's apparent rarity. "Really? Wow, I never would have guessed!" The boy would introduce himself as Vigilon, and a small dragon that was on the boy's shoulder would awaken, then look at Astralin curiously. The sight of the familiar, which probably belonged to the boy, really got Astralin going. She let out a stifled gasp and squeal. "Oh my gosh, is that a little dragon??? D'awwwwww, it's SO CUTE!"

  19. Astralin had heard of a rising tailor shop ran by a player, but the shop was also in one of the absolute worst places in town! She didn't know whether or not going would be a good or a bad idea, until she heard as much as she could about safe zones. Once she had that information, she gained the courage to step into the town's slums, searching for the tailor shop. The Vagrants were almost unexpected, and she would offer them advice, and give them small amounts of col that should help them live on for a bit of a while. The criminals? She was ready to face each one that came her way, but there were times where her strength and skill was outmatched, forcing her to flee. She managed to come across a sign with crimson lettering, and once she was able to read it, she entered the building, hoping it was the tailor shop. Indeed, it was. She let out a sigh of relief, those miscreants were starting to prove troublesome.

    The shop's interior was far, far better than she had expected. She looked around the shop in mid wonder, but she found nothing that she would be capable of, or wish to be using. "In that case, I'll just have to place a custom order, then." She thought. She walked up to the counter in order to speak with the shopkeeper. "Hello, I would like to place a custom order, please."

    Custom order:

  20. Astralin noticed that due to waking up slowly, the boy didn't manage to comprehend the words she said. It was almost unusual, noticing his red eyes. She had definitely heard of people with different eye colors, but she had yet to see such colors for real. Of course, it may have easily been just the game and how it worked, or maybe contacts. He asked her if she was low-level, judging by the apparel Astralin was wearing. He apologized for not comprehending her words earlier, and asked what it was that she said. "Oh, no, there's no need to apologize. Yes, I am low-level, and I couldn't help but notice those handwraps you had. I was wondering if you knew anything about the Martial Arts Skill, and the quest I need to take in order to receive it." She looked at those eyes again, and she couldn't help but ask. "I actually have never seen someone with red eyes before...well, someone with eyes that were naturally red, that is. Is it the game, or...or are your eyes actually red? Oh, silly me, where are my manners? I'm Li- A-Astralin! My name is Astralin."

    @Vigilon

  21. Astralin had learned of the requirements for the Martial Arts Skill at last...It was unlockable by a quest in the second floor. She definitely wouldn't want to go alone, so she wouldn't dare step outside the safe zone without someone else to help her out. She walked up to the teleport gate, nervous as she did so. She heard that there were other settlements in the higher floors, but there was only one way to see if what she heard was true. She had gotten the name of her destination, so hopefully she wouldn't just appear in the wild. "Alright, here goes... Teleport: Urbus!" She would indeed appear in a settlement, and she let out a sigh of relief. She would then wander the settlement, eventually finding a young man sound asleep on the settlement's seating. The boy was a player, due to the green cursor above him. She noticed that he was wearing handwraps, showing that he might know of the Martial Arts skill. "Excuse me," She began as she began to lightly nudge him. "I'm sorry to bother you, but I have something to ask of you..."

  22. Astralin had been around the Town of Beginnings for so long, but she needed to do something more than just stand around, occasionally trying to use her healing skill for a wounded player who returned to the safe zone. The only issue was, she had to get out there at some point, but she knew that without a weapon, or a weapon skill, she would be defenseless out there! "I have to do something...I can't keep going on like this for much longer...how long has it been, exactly?" She didn't know, for she had lost count some time ago. She wondered if there would be anyone willing to help her get started, but the final issue was, everyone around probably knew only on how to fight, while she was incapable of it at the moment. Maybe she should learn about the Martial Arts skill she had heard so much about. One player had given her a pair of handwraps as a gift, but without the Martial Arts skill, she couldn't use it. If only she knew how to obtain it... For now, she would head over to the shop where the NPC said to give out beginner quests would be, and remain near its walls until someone would come by...Someone would come, she was sure of it! Whether it be a veteran passing by, or someone as low-level as her!

    Background

    Spoiler

           So, you want to know about me, right? Sure, I'll tell you my story! I was born with the name Libra Samara Judison, and yes, my sign is Libra. My mom and some of her friends adored the stars and constellations, so she chose to name me after one, the constellation Libra! She tells me that my name means balance, because the constellation resembles a balance scale. She also told me that it could also mean justice, with one of the meanings behind the object. Yes, I could have easily gotten named after my sign, as it just so happened to be the constellation I was named after, but my mother will say it was the constellation I was named after, the sign simply being a coincidence. Well, enough about my name, so...

                 My childhood was fairly simple, and I had an older brother and an older sister, as well as two younger siblings(Yes, I am the middle child). I also met quite a few friends, some of them also having constellation names! Life in America seemed fairly nice, but that was before I learned of how cruel the world could be. When I was seven years old, I got into some of my older brother's books, and that's when I discovered them: Worlds of Fantasy. Tales of adventure, power, and heroics, with strong warriors and powerful mages and wizards! I started reading them, loving the tales within, and before long, I began to imagine myself as a mage! Once I had turned twelve, I discovered a way to live my imagination: Role-playing games. I'd recently received a gaming system at the time, and oh, did I love the chances I got to play as a hero in those games! Once I was fifteen, my friends and I got into Dungeons and Dragons, my big brother being the Dungeon Master! Oh, the adventures we had...but we'd be here forever if I got into detail with that!

                  Life in school was rough, to say the least. Not everybody thought it was normal to be named after a constellation, aside from Leo. It was insanely difficult to be in a good social position, due to the one I started with due to the um, coincidence of my first friend group... Yes, they were all named after constellations, like me(which, oddly enough, was part of what got us to form into a group in the first place), but the kinds of constellations...and there were twelve of us...I think you know the answer.

            That's right, we were labeled the Zodiac Squad. And that made making friends outside the group a whole lot harder.

       And the difficulty of all those subjects was hard enough! It wasn't like it could easily be done by a single person alone! I even had trouble sleeping sometimes, and my, did that have quite the negative effects on me...as my life continued, I ended up getting deeper into gaming and roleplaying, no surprise there. Sometimes I did it to cope with my frustrations, and that did not always go as expected. Well, at least I had my BFF, Gemini, to hang out with if there was no one else.

                Keeping up with life when I finished High school wasn't the simplest thing to do, but that wouldn't stop me! I managed to get a part time job, and I thought everything was going to fall into place from there...boy, was I wrong. I had began to hear of a game called Sword Art Online, the first VRMMORPG. I was excited by this news, and I began to save up for the game and the NerveGear. On the day of the release, I placed the NerveGear on my head, and spoke the words that would change my life forever... "Link Start!"

                        When I arrived, the first thing I would notice was that there was no such thing as Magic...which would prove to be a challenge for me. It would become even more challenging when The game's creator had revealed the truth about this game....I was in for the ride of my life. Danger, monsters, warriors...but no magic.

    Virtues

    Spoiler

    Caring: I have a kind heart, so I am driven to help others when they are in need. It warms my heart when I see them get up on, or back up on their feet, and to see a thankful smile makes me feel I am doing what I am meant to do. I have learned to recognize genuine needs to avoid being taken advantage of, although I believe I may have yet to learn every nasty trick those kinds of people have for me...

    Strong-Willed: Once I stick to something, I don't want to abandon it until it gets done or proves to be impossible. I can definitely see reason, though, and analyze a situation to see whether or not I can take it on. If I can, don't expect to be able to stop me!

    Justified: My mother always told me I had a strong sense of Justice, no matter what form it came in, or what method is used to bring it. I have a real distaste for evil and its corruptions, despite having flaws myself. My moral heart drives me to do battle with such atrocities, and it feels incredible to prevail! Nothing will stop me from at least trying to make the world a better place! ...Rather, whichever world I'm in, that is.

    Flaws

    Spoiler

    Reactive: "Think before you speak", right? Well, not with me. If something grabs my attention, for better or for worse, I am likely to react, and when I do, expect me to react strongly. When aggravated or taunted, expect me to be provoked. If told about something that I find exciting or super-cute, expect me to squeal with joy(no, not a boar squeal, silly)!

    Merciless Fighter: I wouldn't approach me as an enemy, if I were you. I don't prefer to let my enemies get away, should I be capable of handling them. I use every last trick in the book I can think of, and I will not hesitate to obliterate, humiliate, and throw my foes into disarray.

    Emotional: You may say this one is really similar to "Reactive", but it isn't, it simply connects to that flaw often, as well as other traits, too. While this flaw can be seen as a virtue often, with my cheerful attitude that is often seen, shining bright like a star, there are also the moments when my anger burns with a fiery passion! Those are but two examples, there are many ways my emotions can come out!
