  1. She fell silent as Freyd explained his perception on everything; a perception that Nari found interestingly dismissive of the possibilities that lay within itself, and yet somehow also encompassing all of the counter arguments that came to mind for her when she listened. For a while she walked in silence, simply following Freyd's lead as they made their way back to the grove, content to fall into her thoughts and consider everything she'd heard from the man. She didn't necessarily agree with everything - nor did she disagree with it all, and while she knew there was things should could say in
  2. She felt herself hum in response to the outburst of humour from Freyd, her face blushing softly in response to the jesting. She knew it was in good nature, as much surprise that she'd reacted the way she had. Not that she felt she had to defend herself, and yet she found herself speaking anyways - determined to clear the air to some degree before moving onwards. "I wasn't really expecting it to rip it's own head off...and you know, ick. I mean, I'm all for like...fighting and stuff, but...it handed me it's head. Like it was nothing. That's like...eeiiickkk." She stopped talking as she shi
  3. Just when Nari thought they were going to get a break, another voice spoke up. It was calm and controlled enough that she knew it was going to belong to someone of a somewhat more collected nature - but when she saw the individual in question she knew that there was little chance they were going to be able to talk their way out of fighting them. A soft groan of disappointment escaped past her lips even as she readied her shield and spear once more. "Wouldn't it be nice if they would, you know, give us a small break in order to recover a bit. That would be the fair thing to do, don't you

  5. She gave a soft laugh at the comment, shrugging slightly and deflecting another stab towards her torso. The shield clanged slightly as the deflected blade rang along it's side, before slipping down and away from her form entirely. "You know what? That's fair, they did start it. And there's no way they could've known if we were pirates or not. I mean other than the fact that we were with the late Ryland, who shouted about them being bad people, and doing bad things, and all that...so I mean, no way whatsoever they could've known." She deflected another few shots towards her form, sidestep
  6. Nari paused to glance over at Morningstar, slowly catching the joke and shaking her head in response. Although a slight smile touched her lips, her voice was entirely devoid of amusement when she answered the suggestion that had been almost immediately back peddled. "I'm glad you came to your senses quickly on that one. We're good at hunting them down, but I doubt we'd make good pirates...I mean, don't you need to not hunt down and murder pirates to...you know, be a pirate? Isn't there like a code or something about that?" In fairness, she was far less familiar with the pirate code than
  7. Shaking off the feeling of numbness that had begun to trickle through her meditative moments, she stood up and gave a soft sigh. Already she could see the jump in her statuses, and felt a moment of refreshment at the change in her situation, knowing that she was better off than she had been a few seconds ago. Smiling towards Morningstar, she gave a nod towards the pirates, not realising that he'd even spoken while she'd been focused inwardly in an attempt to recover herself. "What do you say we finish this lot off, and then we can consider a prison...exploration...thing...? Honestly not
  8. Nari winced slightly at Freyd's commentary, giving a soft nod and whispering back towards him as she tried to keep some semblance of awareness of her doings. She had no doubt that she deserved, to some degree, the tone that she'd received from the other player. "I forgot that the dungeon opens based on my leveling, and not the collective...it's a mistake I made that could've cost him his life - not that I'd allow it." She cut off her words, knowing that there was nothing else she could say. She'd made an error, and one that she wouldn't make again. Best to learn from it and move on. Turn
  9. Nari held out her hand as the Mourning Guard approached her, her hand open and awaiting the cypher rune's placement upon her palm. She watched in slight horror, ever growing, as the thing before her reached up and ripped off it's entire head, placing the piece of it's body into her grasp before collapsing to the floor. Silence stretched for a few seconds as Nari's brain tried to process what just happened. When she was able to think - to a degree - again, she slowly turned to Freyd with a horrified look on her face, and opened her mouth. "Gross...gross....GROSSGROSSGROSSGROSS! TAKE IT! TA
  10. She considered the question for a few seconds, wondering what would be worse. Her answer came slowly as she dodged around a few weaker attacks made by the pirates that had continued to swarm forwards, the monotonous, empty expressions a reminder that they were little more than just shells sent to beat them to death by Cardinal itself. A fact that likely would've been unnerving had Nari been paying any attention at all to the individuals in front of her, and not lost in her own thoughts and considerations. "You know, my immediate response would've been death - because that's it, that's th
  11. She couldn't help but laugh at his concerns regarding being arrested, shaking off another weak attempt to bypass her defences as she clicked her tongue back at him in response. "Really? We're getting swarmed by what appears to be the underworld of the skyports - and there's definitely an irony in that, let me tell you - and you're worried about getting arrested before you can break and enter into some locked away area of the map? An area that you're not even sure you can enter...am I getting that right?" A quick glance upwards brought Nari's attention towards another concern, one that sh
  12. They'd gotten into a rhythm now, and as the last of the guards fell beneath Morningstar's blade, Nari began to feel a moment of hope for their success. Although more of the pirates continued to rush forwards and towards them, they were easily being batted aside by the pair - their attacks little more than a nuisance compared to the devastation that Morningstar was bringing to their rank and file. Even her small amounts of technical attacks were helping to quell the tide, even if only slightly. Her gaze slid past the immediate trio of pirates, noticing that the once large wave beyond had
  13. Nari's attacks may have been in vain, however she couldn't help but notice that her efforts were at least giving Morningstar a bit of breathing room to deal with the aspect of overwhelming the pirates and guards that continued to swarm towards them. She kept her shield close, prepared for any attacks that might try and sneak through, all while waiting for an opening that would allow her to lash outwards again and take down a few more of the bandits they were facing. "You know...this may be a bit of a late observation...but I'm starting to think that...staying here and facing off against
  14. "Yeah, I'm okay. A bit more damage than I would've liked, but these shits are as nasty as I can be - maybe not to the same degree, but nasty nonetheless. Adds up over time..." She gave a small huff of laughter at the commentary of the guards becoming pushovers with the captain gone. "You're right, they're going to become a lot easier now that we can stun them. Although I wouldn't say they're entirely pushovers...still have a bit of a bite to them. Best if we bring them down as quickly as possible. Although, I'm not going to be super great at that...I'm built for taking hits, not necessarily gi
  15. An explosion of shards and shattering sounds was all that remained of Ryland's existence as he exploded into the air. Nari felt a single second of disheartening at the possible failure of the quest, before realising that the remaining Dock Guards were still pressing inwards. Raising her shield back to her shoulder, she considered their options as her eyes passed over the complement of various targets before her. The lowered health bar of the Guard Captain came into her view, and Nari gave a nod towards the woman. "I'm gonna take her down, see if that doesn't bring some of the heat off us
  16. "You truly do not mean harm...you are honest in your words." Nari gave a single glance towards Freyd, resisting the urge to roll her eyes in a highly visible manner. Sighing, she gave a soft nod in response, realising that her sarcasm would likely only do more harm than good in the current situation - and although the attacks from the creature had done little to her own health bar, she had noticed the significant dip in Freyd's own; a sign that he had taken more of a beating than Nari liked. One that she wasn't going to force the man to continue with, now that it had appeared as though the gua
  17. She'd strode into the tunnels without apprehension or concern, and as the first wave of creatures had appeared she found herself settling into a natural form, her spear resting on the edge of the shield in a comfortable way. She watched as Wulfrin had launched out towards their opponents, taking the lead and cutting into a trio of them with a wide swing. Smiling slightly wider, she gave a quick bark of enthusiasm as he stepped back away from the creatures, her own smile a mixture of excitement and encouragement towards the new player. "Nice strikes! Clean, good work. See, you've got noth
  18. Chaos erupted around her as Nari turned to meet the dock guards that had come to meet them. She could feel as the defensive mechanics of the guards slammed into her, a reaction from her own strike against them - and she realised far too late that they were built as dangerously as she herself was. To the side she could see as Ryland called out, pulling the attention towards himself even as Nari tried to step in the way of the oncoming danger. She considered, if only for a split second, calling out to the man to shut him up, before realising that it would be useless. The system had decided his r
  19. The thing that had moved turned out to be humanoid indeed, and as the Mourning Guard approached, it's voice beckoned towards them. The cry was far from welcoming however, and Nari found herself glancing towards Freyd for suggestion and support as the creature declared them foe, not friend. Her hands had moved automatically, summoning spear and shield to position as she considered the conflict that was very clearly approaching - a fight that she wasn't even sure they should be having. Apprehension took over and Nari found herself waiting to see what Freyd would do, naturally letting the mo
