  1. One had managed to avoid her strike, the individual nearly falling over its feet as it rushed backwards in an attempt to escape. Nari was on them all before any had a chance to draw their weapons, lashing out left and right with her scythe in a display of death and destruction that would likely have been considered concerning by many of those she had once walked the paths of Aincrad alongside. She gave no mercy, falling upon her victims in a way that bespoke her rage, her anger at everything that had occurred and continued to occur. Her desire to escape, to live, to strike back, all released a
  2. Nari waited for the small shift in the fox's body that acknowledged it was ready to rush out. It didn't take long, Yuki accepting, or agreeing with her desired course of action - something that she knew she wouldn't be able to figure out right now. Perhaps one day, she would better understand her companion, or maybe she would always be lost about what it truly desired - if it had any desires, that was. For the time being, Nari turned her attention to getting them out of here. It was the only thing that mattered, right now. Their escape from the cavern, breaking free of the mess she had g
  3. Her thoughts were interrupted at the sound of voices, coming from nearby. Beside her, Yuki stood at attention, the fur on the back of her neck standing up as she silently watched the area beyond. Nari placed a hand on the fox's back, before pulling herself to her feet. She glanced outwards, trying to find a source for the voices before realising that they were likely around the corner, just out of their sight. Whispering lowly so that only Yuki would hear her, Nari carefully moved forwards towards the opening in their hiding spot. "Alright, I'm feeling better, so why don't we see what's waitin
  4. Nari wasn't sure if she'd accidentally fallen asleep or not, but she found herself startled back to consciousness and awareness as the fox beside her shifted in place. Yuki still stood with her back to Nari, staring out into the cavern beyond their hiding place, keeping guard. For a moment, Nari found herself overly touched by the fox's behaviour - it was always there for her, no matter what. Rewards will be in order, once we get out of this place...and not just some silly little treats. Yuki deserves some recognition for what she's done for me...what she's always done... Nari wondered, f
  5. Nari felt herself tense up at the sound of footsteps rushing by, the sound seeming to echo off the rock walls that made up the area surrounding her. For a brief second, she felt the sound getting closer, almost certain that it was right beyond the outcropping she hid within. Almost as quickly as it had approached, it faltered off, leaving her alone with the sounds receding into the distance. She let out a breath she hadn't even realised she'd been holding in, relaxing her head back against the wall behind her. For the moment, she was safe - left alone with her thoughts. That was more tha
  6. She barely made it up the steps before another knocked at the door. Jomei had already returned to the door by the time Nari had turned around, curious to see whom would arrive next. The ginger stepped back, letting in a familiar face that Nari hadn't seen in a while. It took her a few seconds to recognise the face, calling out with excitement as soon as she did. "FaeFae! I'm so glad you could make it! How've you been? More importantly - where have you been hiding?! Or, well, I guess maybe I'm the one...anyways! Glad to see you're here! I'm hoping that @NIGHT might join us later, but who k
  7. Nari nodded in response to Hirru's call, a large smile on her face. Although there was competition, it was clear that those who'd arrived thus far were in this for one reason - the need to get together, and have some fun once again. Something that broke away from the darker aspects of Aincrad, something happy. Something wonderful...and a bit cold. Her hand slid through the snow as she palmed another ball into existence, before turning her attention towards her target. The blonde had appeared as if out of nowhere, calling out to Jomei - a sign that she was likely a long-time friend of the

  9. Her return to work had gone far better than Nari had expected, the items coming out as if she'd never left the piano behind. Even the vocal recordings had been more than she'd anticipated, and she couldn't help but feel a measure of pride at her capabilities. "Alright, let's try this again then!"
  10. Pitfall traps. Those should be easy, right? Nari's scepticism with their success thus far made her wonder if it would be any easier. So far, they'd only been successful at making a long hole in the ground - which anyone should be able to do, so long as they had hands and a breath in their lungs. "I mean, we can give it a try...I don't know how successful we'll be based upon..." She waved a hand at the area around them, as if signifying the lack of work they'd managed to complete thus far. Sure, they'd dug a hole, but otherwise... "That being said...I mean, it is digging...so maybe we can
  11. Nari couldn't help but stick her tongue out in response as Jomei accused her of not helping with the wall. Even still, there was a smile in her eyes, and tugging at the corner of her mouth. It felt good to be able to jest with another individual once again, even if they were staring down possible death in the near future. "Hey, I was doing my damned best! Can't have high expectations from someone who only comes up to your waist at best, though!" She placed her shovel down, for the time being. They had made good headway on their trench, and figured that it would be best to leave the remai

  13. It had been a long time since Nari had stepped foot into the recording studio. The piano remained silent, the lid open and ready for whomever took their place before the keys, as if requesting to be played. Her gaze passed over the other portions of the room - open, silent, as if crying out for some sort of sound to fill the void that it had become. She wasn't sure why she had avoided this place, maybe it had just been habit. Whatever the reason...I'm here now, which means it's time to get back to work. She smiled to herself as she crossed to the piano and settled herself, fingering the keys c
  14. Nari had paused in her steps, wary to Hirru alone with the newcomer. She didn't trust anyone who hid in the shadows, much less anyone who appeared and threatened another. Although the player's icon appeared green, Nari had a sneaking suspicion there was more to the story here - that perhaps, it hadn't always been green. She listened quietly as Hirru and the girl passed a bit of conversation, if one could call it that. Nothing that either said was reassuring, or cleared up any questions that Nari had, but she refrained from speaking out. She'd made her presence in the situation clear, and she k
  15. Their dance around the boxes lasted a few moments, far longer than Nari had expected. Either the system was giving her a chance, or the NPC truly was dumber than most. The event came to a quick end, however, when the NPC realised it was able to simply leap over the boxes, attempting to land in front of Nari before she could react. Not that she gave him the chance to do so - her scythe pulled back as he began his forward movement towards the boxes, the blade of it slicing through the torso as he sailed overtop of the obstacle - a look of surprise the last thing Nari saw before he exploded into
  16. Exhaustion. She was starting to feel it coursing through her, slowing her movements and halting her ability to properly chase her target. She'd already gone on for so long, the fighting lasting far longer than she was used to - her skirmishes were usually over in a matter of breaths, but this one had already passed the numerous moments marker. Her muscles burned, a pain that she was used to in the real world, but something she'd rarely felt here. Even with all the dangerous situations she'd been in, she'd never felt her body like this in Aincrad. Never had she reached this point, and that scar
  17. Her rage bristled, the scythe moving in a motion of absolutely fury as she lashed out at each of her targets. At first, they parried, driving her blade off to the side, or upwards and away from themselves. Nari didn't care. She was tireless, the fury of everything coursing through her giving her the strength to press on, to continue pushing them back towards the wall behind them - driving them towards their eventual demise. For too long. Too long have I done nothing but accept. Too long have I given everything, only to have it torn away. Acceptance. Suffering. Content to lie down and give in.
  18. The appearance of another blade had caught her by surprise, putting Nari off balance and on the defensive as she tried to place some distance between herself and the new target. It was enough of a distraction, that she didn't see the sudden movement of her two original targets in time, one managing to slide it's blade underneath the haft of her scythe, the blade driving into her her torso just above her left hip bone. Stumbling backwards, she lashed out with her weapon, managing to catch the two newcomers - when had the second one appeared?! - with a single strike, their bodies freezing
  19. Either she'd grown careless, or the combatants before her were far more dangerous than the previous opponents she'd faced. It didn't matter in the end, they'd barely managed to graze her as she spun away from their attacks - but as the two blades caused her health to dip, she cursed herself internally. Careless was one thing, but being reckless - charging in and allowing them past her defences so easily; that was entirely different. A quick spin of her scythe, creating a wall between herself and her opponents, had driven them away long enough for her health bar to recharge; the soft purp
  20. Her eyes roamed the camp, looking for any other threats that might be lurking in the shadows. She could hear the sounds of footsteps, echoing off the walls around her - a sign that there was more danger here, somewhere. Now she just needed to find where it was and deal with it accordingly. If I let them come to me, I can certainly be more prepared...but catching them by surprise has it's benefits as well... The decision was simple, and as she swung her scythe back into a comfortable position behind her, Nari stepped forward, making her way across the small open area that she had found the orig
  21. The burst of laughter that escaped Nari as the log fell to the ground couldn't be helped. Holding onto her stomach, it took what felt like long minutes before she calmed enough to speak aloud, her voice continuing to shake ever so slightly as the laughter continued in small bursts. "Yeah...yeah maybe...maybe handling big sticks...isn't your thing...let's uh...trench...yeah diggy-diggy...heheh...digg-hahah!...diggy-diggy hole!" As she moved towards the already-started-trench, picking up a shovel and driving it into the ground, small bursts of giggling and song escaped from Nari, her enthus
  22. Nari's smile had disappeared at the sight of the whistle, her frown only growing at the mention of the Game Master. She knew far too well what Faerie was doing, and unconsciously her hand hovered towards the sword on her hip, her eyes scanning the horizon even as she spoke in response. Her words carried a weight of distraction, as if accenting the fact that she was only partially paying attention to the conversation at hand. "I...don't know. I know some people have guessed that he's...I don't know, watching us from some sort of control room, somewhere...or perhaps he's left the game entirely.
