  1. "If someone were to trespass into your home," The gemini replied. "And one of your brothers lay eviscerated on the ground in their arms. Wouldn't you fight to, if nothing else, avenge them?" The Gemini turned back towards the water, ripples from the falling rain disturbing its surface. The gemini let out a sigh in slight irritation. Clearly the figure was on edge. Thunder boomed as the brief storm began to clear, small beams of light cascading from the heavens pierced the canopy, bringing the faintest of color back to this part of the jungle. "We are fragments," The gemini continued.
  2. The Gemini flinched as the blade arced across its form. Defeated it well to its knees, its head hung low in submission to Astra. It prepared for its final moments before the blade stopped short of ending its life. An act of mercy? Perhaps the swordsman spoke truth. "Bold ambitions swordsman," The Gemini spoke as it struggled to its feet. "Many like you have come with the same ideals. What you fail to grasp is how futile your goal is." Astra's gemini made its way towards a small pond at the center of the clearing, the rain lightening ever slightly. It stared into its refection and all
  3. The false Astra stumbled back with the impacts of the incoming sword art. It was on the back foot, its element of surprise expended. It struggled to recover its stance as Astra bombarded it with questions. Through gritted teeth, the False Astra reclaimed its footing. "That is a question you should ask yourself," The false Astra hissed. "Why are YOU doing this? Why do you raise your sword each day? Why do you fight a losing battle?" Unable to see an opening in Astra's stance, his reflection simply began to circle him, like a wolf preparing to pounce on its prey. This was its turf, and
  4. "I never leave home without one," Wulfrin sighed as he reached into the pockets of his garb. "Not since the Cave of Wonders anyway." The black churned in the distance as the storm roiled overhead. There was no signs of the storm ending anytime soon and with a sigh, Wulfrin pulled out a crystal. He looked back towards the lighthouse. His mind fixating on how many innocent NPCs had been slaughtered by his blade. The frontlines would have their work cut out for them now. One thing Wulfrin was struggling to figure out was how. What caused the change in the NPCs? Perhaps Floor 29 had more to t
  5. "There's one more thing you all should know," Wulfrin paused as the group prepared to leave. "These hostile mobs we've been fighting. They're the NPCs of this floor. Morningstar and I found the info out at the lighthouse overlooking the Black. They've been corrupted and twisted from their original forms. By what we haven't figured out. For now all we can do is fight back and hope there is a way to reverse it. Stay sharp and focused, we've got a floor to clear." Wulfrin's body began to glow with the familiar light of Press the Attack, provided by Hirru, as they approached their target. Mor
  6. Wulfrin was doing his best. At this point he was starting to feel way out of his depth. Here he was in the depths of a sewer system, slashing into slimes that made his blade was practically ineffective here. Despite it all, Wulfrin continued to press his attack. The first slime molded itself around his wide arcing slashes. Wulfrin managed to find purchase within the second of the Slime Kings, causing it to reel back from the impact. Wulfrin's blade continued to arc with the newly formed Slime King simply shifted around his blade. Wulfrin gritted his teeth. This was getting annoying now. Not be
  7. The Winged Priestess made her presence known. As Freyd crashed into the ground following a filed attempt to bring her down, Wulfrin leapt up to counter with her guard down. Icingdeath's frigid aura clung to Athia's form as Wulfrin effortlessly carved through the boss's HP. Strike after strike caused ice to accumulate turning the Valkyrie priestess into a frozen statue not unlike her sisters. Wulfrin followed the boss down to the ground, sliding out of the way of whatever onslaught his party would bring upon her. "Anyone order frozen Valkyrie?" Wulfrin chuckled as he prepared for a follow
  8. "Yeah," Wulfrin replied with a chuckle as Freyd shoved Mina into the lake. "I'm going after that Tech art he drops in round two, but I've gotta clear part one first." Wulfrin had developed the goal of collecting each of the Tech sword arts following his taking of the Tech shift. The more he had, the more options he had in combat. Cerberus's art was a Sword Skill that could burn targets, saving Wulfrin from hunting down a weapon with said enhancement on it. Wulfrin made his way over to the now soaked Mina and helped her back onto the dock. "If it wouldn't be too much trouble," Wulfrin
  9. "I agree," Wulfrin said as he looked over towards his guild master, clearly becoming racked with the same guilt from the burden they now shared. "If it's any consolation, the NPC's should respawn if we are able to reverse it." Wulfrin's mind began to ponder. Thoughts were always an escape for him when such issues arose. Hell after Callisto, he pretty much went silent in his own head, looking for any form of distraction from his mortality. "Just in time for the raid," His gemini spoke from within his mental landscape. "This burden is going to be a heavy one. Do you have the strength t
  10. The hooded figure's gaze remained fixated on the fallen figure before them, seemingly looking past Astra. The second Astra's gaze left the figure they were gone, becoming one with the shadows. Lightning arced across the sky illuminating the clearing for the briefest of moments. An uncountable number of similarly cloaked figures surrounded the clearing, cutting off all points of exit. Among the tree line, one remained unhooded. A familiar face of brown hair and red eyes that watched the arena with an analytical stare, his mentor Wulfrin, but There was no cursor signifying the presence of a pla
  11. "As if this place wasn't creepy enough," Wulfrin frowned as the hatch opened with a groan. "This a bad time to mention I don't do well with the horror genre?" Cautiously, Wulfrin began to descend the newly revealed ladder into a dimly lit laboratory. He drew his blade once he stepped off the ladder, not wanting to take any chances with the unknown room before them. Tools were left scattered about, partially pilfered wine crates left open with their contents shattered on the floor, and what looked like used animal bedding and scraps of adult magazines. It wasn't Wulfrin's idea of a cozy wo
  12. "Cool," Wulfrin said as he collected his things. "You both made it. This time it's a wee bit different than Sharkbait as I'm not hitting Terra Firma this tme. I'm going after his younger brother." Wulfrin led the threesome through the sandy deserts to a make shift arena encircled by jagged spires of rock. Wulfrin, the ever cheeky lad he was, materialled a large iron bear trap from his inventory and placed it upon the shifting sands. It was kind of Callisto to have dropped such an item after his defeat in the raid of floor 28. Wulfrin gestured everyone to the edge of the ring as the trap w
  13. @Astra Here use this. Blighted Fang | [Fusion ID #219398b] | TIER 1 PERFECT STRAIGHT SWORD | DMG, KEEN, BLIGHT [desc.]: A longsword crafted from metal coated in the sap of a blighted maple tree. Its necromantic properties leave lasting wounds that are hard to recover from.
  14. "Indeed," Wulfrin nodded in agreement. "We still haven't checked that living room yet. I'll take point." Wulfrin did just that and led the duo back towards the living room just off the entrance hall. The room had only afforded a cursory glance when they first entered, but with their newfound information, everything needed to be under intense scrutiny. Shadows danced around the living room as a fire roared within the hearth. Firewood was stacked nearby, but served little more than a decorative bit of immersion. Wulfrin knew that fuel wasn't necessary in Aincrad, hell his own forge never on
  15. Wulfrin's attention was drawn from his decoding. He was confident he had two numbers, but without two others to test he had no way to confirm. Morningstar had seemingly uncovered something else and not a nonagram as was previously hinted at by the book. Wulfrin looked it over and instantly it clicked. "The writing isn't a scramble," Wulfrin remarked, turning to yet another blank page in his draft book. "Pretty sure it's a Caesar Cipher. Could take a minute to decode unless we can find how many times each letter was transposed." Wulfrin sat down and started with the first attempt of 26. Lu
  16. "Cool," Wulfrin said as he looked over the various trinkets passed his way. "I haven't done any before so I'll let you take the lead on this one. I'll keep focusing on the riddle." Wulfrin made his way over to the bed and sat down on the rather uncomfortable matress. Out came his draft book again this time he turned to yet another blank page and reevaluated their progress thus far, with the new knowledge that they were looking for a combination. The kitchen was easy enough to figure out, considering Wulfrin had laready stumbled on the commonality, all the cretures in the scramble had one
  17. Wulfrin shrugged in unison with Morningstar as the two were equally stumped on the word scramble. While they had an answer, Wulfrin was far from confident that it was correct. He recollected his things and followed Morningstar up into the lantern room of the lighthouse. Glass crunched beneath their feet as they stepped foot inside. It seems a lantern had fallen and shattered, possibly in whatever had caused the lighthouse keeper's disappearance. Wulfrin clocked the literal writing on the ceiling. "I'm still working through the other two riddles," Wulfrin said as they descended back down t
  18. "Right," Wulfrin sighed as he struggled to come up with a solution. "Alright let's do it the old fashioned way." Wulfrin spawned a decent sized satchel at his feat and began to dig through its contents. It was his in the field blacksmithing kit that held just about everything he needed to work in the field. He pulled out a soot covered journal and piece of graphite, thumbing past several different diagrams and notes detailing various projects he had been working on until he came to a blank page. He started with the initial scramble of letters. It took several minutes of placing letters in
  19. "Probably," Wulfrin replied as the duo pressed deeper into their shelter from the storm. "I've seen enough horror films to know the cardinal rule here: Don't split the party." Wulfrin marched slowly behind his guild master, his eyes scanning for anything that would pose any immediate threat. Their cursory exploration ended with them in the kitchen, a rather cozy feeling scene despite the raging storm outside. A lattice board supported various herbs against the wall opposite the duo. Wulfrin scoured the cabinets and cupboards, only dried goods and various cookbooks populated the area. Ligh
  20. HIs list continued to bring him to bosses he had yet to face before. This time he found himself on the familiar grounds of Floor 21, home of the fabled Forgotten Time King, a foe he had faced many times before. Unlike his other visits, Wulfrin was laser focused on his goal of raid preparations. The clock was ticking on his preparation phase so his tunnel vision was on full display. "Thanks for helping me out," Wulfrin sighed as he and Ciela stepped off the teleporter on Floor 21. "I mean it. This raid has been all I've been able to think about. We'll likely need your help. If not in a rai
  21. The launch of the Fatal Error event kicked Wulfrin into overdrive. He assumed this was the signal that the boss raid was around the corner, and with the game as hectic as it was, he figured there would most likely not be a pre-raid meeting. As such he had to move his plans of boss collection up his priority list a ways. His first target was on Floor 5. It was the younger brother to his favorite mob, Terra Firma. As he stepped into the hot sands of Floor 5, he pulled up his menu and sent a message to two players he hopped would assist him. To: Astra, KnightessCiela From: Wulfrin In

  23. Wulfrin was hard at work throwing together some basic weaponry to hand out to fresh players coming to the horror floor. As his hammer struck the hot metal before him, an alert flashed across his vision that sent a shiver down his spine. ”Fatal Error?” Wulfrin said to himself, his knowledge of computer programs kicked in immediately. “That’s not good, but why is it a quest?” He wasn’t given a chance to accept as the quest forced itself into his log. He looked up in confusion just quick enough to see a fresh wave of mobs headed towards the plaza not far from his location. Within the sw
