[F12-PP-PT] Where Nightmares Tread [Slimin 2, the talkening]

Recommended Posts

A flame in his hand swelled to life, glowing brightly amongst a dimly lit smog. That kindling raced across his shoulders like a trace of gasoline, outlining his back and sending a wave of heat outward. The ground smoldered and burned, the moisture on it flash boiled into a column of white steam. The rich scent of everything inside it reeked and rattled the senses in an instant assault to the nose. "Ugh." Lancaster released in a guttural venting of disgust, his brow furrowing as he'd wave a hand in front of his face. Hoping to sweep away the stench that caused his eyes to water. A heavy boot hits water and sends it to steam, the guys coming irritation made manifest as his heat blazed. From his mouth a small cigarette drooped from his lips, glowing faintly and hanging on by a strand.

Hands in his pockets as he'd walk, traveling through one of the many ragged looking ho dunk villages on this floor. The NPC were borderline impoverished, to say the least. Lancaster had been on this floor maybe once or twice, but every visit had left him little reasons to return. Aiming for a particular little buoy off the northern walks, a marooned little dainty that loved a most curious spawn. The NPC rush to greet him but the greeting wasn't one of civility. Instead a wave of his hands sees them clapped in front of him, sending a stream of flame in a horizontal blade through the pathetic farmers. They shriek and flail, running from their own demise as if they could out pace it. "Balordo, move." The man released in a dismissive bite, finding the annoying band of idiots to be more of a hinderance then anything. Why the NPC's always had to go all gung-ho and leap headfirst off a cliff always astounded him.

As the town buzzed in many failed attempts to stop his advance, doors opening and slamming shut. Guardsman continued to roar in and be dusted in a spray, as the non combatants saw shelter in buildings that didn't even concern the consuming tyrant. In the center of town, as the angered hornets nest raced on around him in endless droves Lancaster stood as relaxed as ever taking another drag. Normally this would be the point where his lackies would be distributed, racing off into the buildings to pillage and maim. Whatever they stole didn't really concern the finger, but what they did provide was a distraction from such annoyances. A sharp sigh and a press of his finger and thumb onto his eyes, he'd rub feverishly. "We do this the hard way." He barked as a mote of flame screamed to life in his palm, growing in size and intensity. A glance to his side, a stark white suit catches his peripheral. Only in passing, and not more often then once or twice. A name sprang to mind and with it its affiliation to Tybalt, as if returning history and etching the taste to his tongue with the slightest perk of aggression.

The woman groans in disapproval as she overlooks one of the many trees that she'd passed by, finding herself turned around. All of them seemed so similar and offered very little as a mode of reference. If she could actually scratch something in them that remained that would be ideal, but given it was part of the cardinal owned landscape it would always regrow or regenerate. Any marking she'd made were quickly erased, leaving her back to being utterly lost. The lower in her stead had already fanned out, searching through the woods in a combing effort for the complex they sought. But they were just about as useless as always, it had been the better part of an hour or more and not a single response. That gaggle of goons was likely even more turned around then she was. On her face she wore an expression that would tell those that looked at her she was primed to gut someone.

Every step through the place would cause the ground beneath her heels to freeze solid, actively showing her frustration as the system mistook her outrage as combat. A long sliver of ice in her right hand, froze the moisture in the air and turned it to sleet and snowflakes. Seconds turn to minutes and to another hour, and eventually she spots it. A defiled church, like so many before it on so many other floors. Why they existed everywhere like starbucks showed that Kaiba had either a faith fetish or really liked the look of broken churches. The problem was this one wasn't even close to a gate, not that she could use the normal ones. It was so far beyond the beaten path she had to dig for a needle in a stack of needles. Moving for the door, she'd slide that icicle into the lock and twist it. The thing grows wider and snaps the mechanisms holding it shut. With that, Mirianna slams her shoulder into the thing sending it careening open and clapping against the stone wall on a swivel.

"What a waste of time." she spat in an cold unfeeling dismissal, walking down the aisle on a crimson colored carpet that spanned the distance and past broken and dismembered pew. To the podium and altar, illuminated by a streak of daylight that raced in from a shattered roof above, the white haired finger begins to run her hand across them. A layer of dust disturbed becoming visible in that light, and coating her fingers in a muted grey. Eventually her hand catches something at the bottom of the rim of the altar, a protrusion that didn't match the rest. "Finally." Mirianna quips collapsing down to look up at what she'd found. A little recess, a keyhole and it looked as though it would depress. "A key... a key." She'd jolt up and start to tap her chin, scanning the room for what could contain what she needed. But in her trailing, she spots @Shayla staring back at her from the destroyed entryway. Her head tilts toward her right shoulder, sending her ponytail swaying along with it. Her hand perches itself on her left hip, as she comments. "Hello lost lamb, would you like guidance?" with a darker veiled threat beneath it.

Searching around unfamiliar territory. The floor that he usually obtains his targets laid absent of subjects and he needed a new hunting ground. This was the fourth floor in counting that he had been on for the search and so far it was reaching the verdict of useless. “Two disposed of, need two more” talking to no one but himself recalling the information needed to complete his research.

This floor was murky, full of dirty water and smells like death met with sewage. He was used to the rotting sensation of a spoiled body, this was no different than this. Splashing occurred after each step that he took, it was rather uninformative why there would be so much muddy water where there was no easy source of water nearby. This seemed to be a floor with not much life anywhere. Even the nature of the trees were screaming in pain due to the atmosphere of this area.

In the distance he would hear somebody calling out for help. That was something that he could get behind, finally after wandering these parts for hours there was progress that would be made. Taking out a needle full of a sedative that was altered into something stronger, he would approach the half charred man that was laying on the ground. Wondering how long they had been here, the tracks leading away still looked fresh. The player was orange, to him it didn’t matter if they had an orange or green cursor. He would usually pick a subject from a crowd that showed something great about them but this was an opportunity that shouldn’t be passed up. The man laid here all alone or rather left here to die yet he was still alive. “You will do” he would say as he stabs the man in the shoulder without warning with the syringe and pushing the liquid into him.

When the guy fell to rest, he would take out a rope. To his right he sees a familiar face begin to approach. At first he said nothing more or less because he didn’t want to yell out anything. He starts to loop the rope in a figure eight style around the man's ankles. Taking another rope out he would do the same with the wrists. The last rope was tied in a knot belting the figure eight at the ankles, the man was ready to be dragged. Before heading back to his lab he needed one more subject. Yuyang finally stands a few feet from Hiroshi staring down at the tied up body. “This is one of two. If you know where to find another then you can help. If not, you can make yourself scarce.” The two men knew one other but Hiroshi wasn’t really a social person. Talking to others usually came out bold and straight to the point. People who knew him knew this. Hiroshi would begin to walk again but this time he had a dead weight being dragged behind him.

The woman claimed a seat in a warmly lit tavern, with all manner of players wandering to and from. A small commotion can be overheard happening in the floor below, but as was a standard for places that served alcohol. The red head twists and crosses her arms, stealing a smile toward eyes that glance at her. A mix of muddied emotion and booze making such a dive a place ripe for the picking, allowing her beauty to do most of the leg work from afar. Any man or woman foolish enough to approach her directly would be ensnared entirely of their own volition, a breaking of the ice that would lead to a breaking of the spirit. The mug on the table in front of her was convincing enough to portray that she'd been drinking herself, yet what most would not realize is that it was self brought and filled with water. To keep her wits and control, while preying helplessly on desperation.

Rosaria's legs cross as she shifts in her chair, keeping her aloof demeanor and act going strong. Every glance in her direction would see an adequate reply, one of smiles and waves as she played the part of being slightly intoxicated. Every so often she'd fan her face, or cradle her forehead before stealing another swig of make believe mead. A simple little action and building of courage to those that would seek her out. From her inventory she'd collect a small round disk of silver, and pressing a button on its front would see it spring open. A thin pastel of red is claimed from inside, and she leans forward redrawing her makeup across her lips. To leave obvious markings on her cup, to maintain an alluring appearance. A player moves to her table, pulling out a seat and taking it for himself. A light tilt of her head as her arms lean forward, finding a space upon that round table for her to prop up her head. Finally found the courage to shoot your shot? The thought rattles through Rosaria's head, tasting the sweet nectar of a trap finally sprung. "Hi..." she offers the kid in a muted voice, who is redder then a tomato sheepishly fiddling with his hands in his lap. His assumed companions snickering and fighting back laughter, showing this was some sort of dare.

The woman could tell he was nervous, that his practice in such a social encounter was lacking. To diffuse she offers a feigned hiccup, to break the tension. "Pardon me. Its alright..?" The woman remarks with a sultry twist to her tone, fishing for a name. The kid stares daggers at the table, squirming physically at his own discomfort. "My name is Rosaria, grab yourself another drink and come back. Maybe buy me one, we can start there?" She knew she had to take this slow, slide beneath those defenses before she could pull the trigger. The kid would scramble up and cradle the back of the chair, still bright red. A mode of action, a man on a mission he bolts away. Another cursory glance, trying not to link eyes with his group of friends as they were fighting back tears. Her eyes set on another as he'd wander past her table. A quick reach up, and she clamps on @Kodo's wrist. Instinctually her legs collapse, laying on the 'helpless dame' as best as she could. "Sorry about that, my heads swimming." She smiles wide, cradling her forehead with her left hand. "My aren't you cute?"

Walking to the location they were supposed to loot today or at least one of them. It wouldn’t take long because as far he was away this was just a small hut but very much abandoned. Anything that they could find would help. A large axe was held against his right shoulder, each foot fall was a small bath for the orange players that followed behind him. Only a select few were with him this time, back home they were all pissing him off. For the safety of the number of people that still lived, he didn’t want to bring much stupidity along even though he knew that one or two of them were going to be dead before heading back. At this point it was inevitable.

Arriving at the shake, it looked worn and beaten down but still standing up right. Besides that it looked like it was little to nothing in the pool of value. Only one true way to find out, he would kick the door open which breaks whatever locking mechanism it did have on it. A pile of metal clanked to the wood path that led inside. “Move quickly, there is more that needs to be done before dawn.” Leaning underneath the door frame to get into the building, it was rather small. No traps were sprung this time, most of the time there was. That was another hint that there wasn’t going to be anything good in here but just in case they would take a look anyway.

Every step he had taken made the ceiling release dust from inside the wood crevices. It was also inches from reaching his head. “Milo keep watch” calling out. There were some other people that they had avoided on the way here that were not trying to be sneaky at all. If they had gotten too close, that would be the end of it. Riko and Lilo were checking the upstairs while Lio and Payko were checking the lower interior. They would make short work of this place. “Boss, I found a chest” Riko comes running downstairs with Lilo carrying a golden brown chest with a lock on it. They would set it down in front of Genma, he would bash the bolt off with the bottom of his hilt. Opening it revealing a few clothing pieces and a bag of what looked like Col. Genma would pick the small back up before saying “Gather the rest and let's move on.”

Out of nowhere he would hear a cat. It sounded like it came from outside. When he looks to the door he would find Milo leaning against the wall inside next to the door. Rushing quickly to him, grabbing him by the throat, Milo intently started grabbing at the hand that was choking him out. Genma throws him outside, through the door breaking it off the hinges as it shatters on the ground.

“I’m sorry Master, I didn’t mean to, I’ll stay out here, I promise” Milo says laying on the ground in a muddle of mud with his hands raised in front of his face scared shitless. Pushing himself backwards in the water as the brute of a man comes walking out with his axe raised high. “NNNOOOOO PLEASE” was the last thing that Milo said before getting nailed right in the chest and falling limp on the ground.

How magnificently droll, all this rabble wouldn't know a bit of wonder if it sprung out and bit them. The thought raced through the inconsistent maze that was Tybalt's mind as he flicked a card between his two hands. An ace of spades, constantly revealed as it wanders back and forth from the tips of his fingers. A sharp jerk sees it flung like a throwing star, cleaving through a dangling branch and continuing on into the brush in a streak of velvet light. "So bored, where oh where is a man to find a good assistant. Maybe a captivated audience? These blades of grass just don't seem to get my sense of humor." The man spits in a manic twist of excitement and sorrow, his voice ebbing on every word in an uneasy pitch. The wide brim smile plastered on the porcelain mask would convey one of joy but behind it was one far more ill.

Into the throws of the swamplands, almost in a desperate frenzy to find anything with even the slightest bit of entertainment. Why he'd been called here, was a mystery. A distraction need naught be bore, for the placated peasants of the floor were in the single digits. How or why a finger would need a man of his caliber to enrapture such thin numbers puzzled even he. A chuckle on the thought, one of irritation and disbelief. "I know!" He squeals in a jolt, running in place with his silk white gloves pressed into his chin. "I can practice~ What an elegant use of an afternoon. What do you think?" He turns sharply, asking down at a toad that bloats given the sudden closeness. "Perfect idea, thanks Kermit. Keep it real, your princess will surely be along post haste" Tybalt pats the frog on the back then bounds away, skipping and galivanting around as if dancing down the road to a track unheard.

Finding a small section of these woods far removed, a glance back and forth confirms his isolation. From his coat he removes a handkerchief, that begins to grow impossibly large as its removed like a tied rope from his jacket pocket. A hooked finger wraps itself around the cuff of his right sleeve, and a comedic twist of his body and a shake sees playing cards, a black and white rod and a dove flutter out of the hole. "My next big design, I am brimming with excitement.~" Tybalt squeals in a sour brand of hysteria. Grabbing a handful of the crap from his pockets and sleeves, he whisks it into the air like confetti. "Where to start where to start, Maybe a card trick? A man in a box? A Peruvian neck tie?" Pulling an imaginary noose around his throat and tilting his head limply to one side. That's when it clicks, a pair of large baby blues staring at him like bambi from the 100 acre woods. A pair of eyes worn by @Ceres stricken with silence and confusion. An unwitting assistant to the most elegant demise. "Hello madam, welcome to my little show~" he bolsters with a lift of his arms and a tinge of chaos on that final word. "Would you like to be an audience of one?"

"I assure you, its to die for."

Heading through the mudded lands of floor 12, it didn’t bother her much but the others were behind her complaining about the weather or how deep the mud was. How cold it was and something about regretting not bringing a jacket. “Maybe you should go get eaten by a monster, I guarantee that you wouldn’t be complaining about every little thing then.” At that moment all the commotion had stopped. She would smile at her success at making them shut their traps.

“Ah miss” a groaning sigh from Hanma, “What is it Archi?” turning to him with a glare. “How much longer till we get to the building?” Rolling her eyes as she turns back as she starts walking with small splashes with each step taken. “Why don’t you start counting your steps so that next time you ask you will already know the answer.” From behind her “Oh, Okay. One, two, three” Hanma face palms her forehead with a hand. “I swear my people have peanuts for brains” giving a small annoying sigh trying to ignore the stupidity of her crew.

There was a few minutes of silence which was a relief. “Ah miss” Hanma turns around in anger and annoyance “What is it now Archi.” Watching the boy not moving and standing very still. “I think I stepped on something lethal. I don't want to die, miss.” Hanma would just blink, staring at the boy. After a few seconds she would walk over, lean down and carefully dig around the entrapment that Archi found himself in. “It’s an explosive. Stay here and don’t move. I will find something to replace your weight.” Hanma would start to look around for something that could be just as heavier or more. Making her way toward something that may look like what she needed, her thought of all them being stupid still stood strong.

Starting to pick a large rock up, it was easily the same weight. The boy looked like he was anorexic or something. That was when she heard the mine go off. She would give a large irritated sigh, drop the rock with a splash in the mud and turn to see Archi laying on the ground. “Why is my time being wasted?” A simple order given and not followed that creates unnecessary damage to the team when there shouldn’t have been. Standing over the boy with her arms crossed over her chest. “I told you not to move, that is what you get for not listening” Hanma raises a brow awaiting an answer. A hand would reach up toward her as the flames hissed out but was still smoking. “I cannot have people following me that don’t give a damn about what I say. Now you can lay here and think about your actions Archi. Come on guys” saying to the others as she leaves Archi on the ground charred to all hell. “Apparently watch your step” Hanma would say in an almost chuckle as she could keep a straight face from what had just transpired.

Hoisted out of a window is a large sack of coin, dropped with heft into the mud with enough weight to have it leave an impression. From the shadows stems a few more under cover, grasping at the bag and quickly fleeing. Bran had made his extraction of wealth, proving once again he was an elegant thief. The somewhat rich tavern owner was disposed of in the shape of a thin line drawn across his throat, left to rot in his own pantry. This floor had little to pilfer, save a few select businesses that held all of the worth. What it lacked in available funds however it made up for it in security. This place was exceedingly easy to steal from, given the guard presence and better yet player presence was at a minimal low. Simply due to the fact that the floor was mostly barren of value.

The raven steps back from the window pane, and sizes his mark. An explosion causes the floor to shake, proving that the trip wire he had set had just been sprung. The guards were lacking but even still, breaking and entering, theft and then murder still blew the metaphorical whistle. That was his queue to make an extraction. Breaking into a full sprint, the man leaps within 4 feet of the hole and narrows himself into a dive. While airborne in freefall, he twists his upper body to aim it toward the sky and tosses a thin hook attached to a metal wire. It finds purchase on the roof tile, and with a heavy tug its locked into place. His feet catch the wall of a smaller abode, and with a combined jump and pull he is sling shotted straight to the roof. The guards take aim with crossbows, and two collide with the rundown wood siding. The third would have easily clipped him, but a jerk sees it caught and returned with a flick of his wrist.

Hurried steps have him race to the other side of the rooftop, to break line of sight given vengeful riposte was now blacked out. That reflect trick wouldn't work again for a small window. Once he reaches the end he leaps and tucks into a roll, dropping to the lower nearby roof. His tucked break fall has him tumble and continue running without a seconds pause. Near the final edge, he drops to his side and slides off that lower building. His hand grasps the edge and redirects his momentum toward the ground. A heavy pant rips through his cloth mask, and his back presses into the wall. The guards go racing past, desperately searching for him. His body becomes an opaque black, and melds with the shade. Once they pass completely, the man exhales gently releasing his held breath. Racing toward the nearest exit, he almost slams into a girl rounding the wall. His eyes lock with hers, a stark red against grey. Instinctually he wraps his hand around her mouth and pivots with her around the wall. @Alinta would feel the rigid chill of a blade pressed against her neck. "Not a word if you want to live."

“You” a kick to the stomach, “Are” a roundhouse toward another, “Not” and fury punch to the chest, “Worth” and sucker punch to the top of the head, “My time.” These large gecko-like creatures kept trying to swarm him. The kill counter had to be rounding close to 24 by now. He could have just made a run for it but that would just cause them to follow and the problem would be unsolved.  It was nearly impossible to know where the things were coming from. Preparing himself for more havoc, he would stand there bouncing back and forth on the one solid piece of ground that he found in an offensive position waiting for more to come his way. After five minutes of nothing more than cawing of crows in the sky, he comes to the conclusion that they were done spawning for now.

Standing up straight as he glances around carefully. The reason for being on this floor was a bit unknown. He heard through the grapevine that there might be a prodigy that could keep up with him. He knew at one point that Genma had the man but lost him over the stupidity of a new recruit. It was possible that he could find that man under mysterious circumstances but it was highly unlikely given if it had been years and the man was really good at hiding. Combing through each floor while taking care of business was the only chance he had to get lucky.

As he would walk around this dusky floor he would hear a calling for help. It was likely someone stranded, lost, or being attacked. He would follow the noise to which only then would he determine if this dude was worthy enough to him to stay alive.

The cry out goes silent, he finds a familiar man standing over the dude. Approaching rather abruptly to see the dude being tied up by the one and only Hiroshi. The dude looked like a burn up piece of meat. The flesh was not yet healing, for most it would be rather disturbing to see but for Yuyang it didn’t bother him one bit. He most definitely did not have a use for this man but apparently Hiroshi did. That is when the surgeon spoke. “Sure, I’ll help” there was nothing more to it. He would try to recall if he had seen anyone else around these parts. “I saw another just south of here. Sure he won’t be that hard to find. He was walking rather slowly.” They would both start heading that way in search of another subject from the man. He was unsure exactly what Hiroshi does just that he was thought to be a surgeon in his previous life. That was also heard through the grapevine. He heard a lot of rumors but most turned out to be a joke. Until proven otherwise he didn’t really believe much that was said unless there was hard evidence to back up the claim.

It may very well have been the first time Mari properly tried exploring the floor. And with good reason. The entire floor was a big sloppy, stinky muddy mess.  "Eargh..." Each footstep landed in wet. Her muddied shoes beyond saving. The woman was using her halberd as a makeshift walking stick, every so often pausing to shove it into the murky marshland beneath her feet to ensure her path wasn't too deep. Despite the woman's best efforts the muddied waters had leaked into her shoots and her feet were wet. Every so often Mari would pause, and quite literally set herself on fire - in an attempt to quell the dampness that permeated her body, but all it did is cause mud to dry up and flake off her skin. I'll be needing a bath from Lancaster tonight.... Mari mused to herself.

Mari initially came here on a random tip-off - an unexplored tavern which had a wealth of alcohol. Useful for her. For Lancaster...for her experiments, and if it had truly been abandoned then it made things even easier for the woman. She still sported her orange crystal after a failed Redemption attempt and Mari needed to stock up on supplies, but didn't much feel like the whole cloak and dagger of concealment, or playing hot potato with the town guards. Then there was the fish people - would their eggs be useful? Would fish person caviar count as cannibalism? Since they were humanoid, but not human? A question Mari wanted to ask someone, anyone - but she doubted she'd see much of anything in the outskirts of this floor.

Trudging further along, Mari could hear a buzzing above, she glanced up to see an airship. Not entirely unusual- but it's presence on this floor wasn't expected. Then, she heard the shouting. With little better to do she followed the sound of it to an abandoned house.

Mari tilted her head, her orange hair which had began to grow longer spilled over her bare freckled shoulders. Mari guessed the woman might have been here for....some reason. She was looking for something but clearly didn't know what. At least Mari had a direction. She wasn't hostile either - strong arms hauling a bed clear over the two womans heads to come crashing down in the yard outside.

"Sup?"

"Yo. Not sure what you're looking for..." Mari began as she rounded the side of the house, nose wrinkling at the smell of fetid rot coming from the broken wooden planks. Mari stepped over a part of the house that had been ripped apart, assuming so by the rampaging woman. Mari hadn't intended on looting this house - she was simply drawn by the verdant screams of the boisterous woman. "But is that really the best method?" Mari kicked at a plank of discarded wood, it slid across the floor hitting a pile of stone debris. A thought flashed in Mari's mind as she looked up at the woman and offered her a wry grin.

"Is what you're looking for....fireproof?"

An offer, as enigmatic as it was - was made to the other woman.

A bag of potatoes lugged over her right shoulder, she was making her normal morning runs. A path that Rai had carved for her a little while back. Had shown her where most of the small villages where that needed security and help to keep going or get back on their feet. This specific floor was dark and gloomy even durning the day. She knew that she would need to do some upkeep on her armor after this, it wasn't exactly clean around these parts. It would be a little better smelling than the slime place but it still burned the inside of her nose. Couldn't help to think that it could be from the carcasses that she saw laying around while walking this path.

Knee deep in muddy water, the cold was a bit overbearing but her natural heat kept her from shivering. She would be in full gear this time around. She was still unsure what exactly this location held when it came to mobs so she was being more safe until she knew what was waiting for her around the corner of every tree, bush and abandoned building here. Arriving at the first smaller town she would walk to an NPC. They went by the name Keliph. He was an artisan in training and was told that he would get small deliveries of gems every other day. Today was that other day, "How's it going Keliph, you learning anything?" She would say with smile as she takes out a small pouch of gem. "I have almost perfected the fittings. It's hard to get the carve just right." They would chuckle together as she would hand him the small pouch.

Out of no where someone was leaning against her. The first thought that she didn't say was -do i know you-. Glancing to the person now knowing that it was female she smiles. "Ah yea sure?" it was said in almost a question. "Where I am going, it's a little bit water heavy." Turning to Keliph "I gotta run but I will see you in a couple days. Keep up the hard work" putting a thumbs up and eyeing the other blonde. "If you want to tag along, grab the crate and follow me. I'm Eruda by the way." The crate was full of homemade breads so she knew that it wasn't going to be that heavy. "What brings you around these parts? Doesn't seem like a very good hang out place" saying as she began to walk northward where the water begins to get deeper.

This female was not familiar to her, not seen in the front lines or around the town of beginning that she knew of. This woman must be someone that just came out of hiding. They have gotten a few new recruits as of late and business was booming. It was nice that people were starting to open up a bit for help. Firm Anima being a higher end group, it was easy for them to make newer players feel like they had significance in a world that made them feel trapped and unprepared to be on their own. @Lynn

Sitting on a tree branch eating an apple. The first thought was that breakfasts needed to be a bit bigger than what she was making them as of late. She found herself eating more snack that she wanted, mainly stuff that she found in the fields. As she starts to take another bite of the apple that was almost gone to the core, she would hear sloshing, Like someone walking it the deep mud near her. Eyes shift to see the long purple haired female slowing dragging her feet in the knee high gunk. Taking the last bite of her fruit, she would toss it into a pool of wet dirt that would sink in.

She was here to find new ingredients but instead finds a new face, kinda exciting. Jumping from tree to tree, following this woman to find out why she was here in this god awful place in the first place. The woman stops in a clearing not far from the ring of trees that surrounded the small rigid field. A small collection of rocks lined in a perfect circle. Plunging the hilt of her scythe... Now that was interesting. It was larger that hers was but the fact stood that she had never seen another player with the same weapon as her. The woman would chant a few words after looking at what looked like a leather covered journal of sorts. Hopping an latching onto another branch, thinner that the rest, she would watch to see if anything appeared from the weird language that this woman just spoke.

After a few minutes of waiting, nothing comes to view and the woman seemed distraught almost like she wanted something to happen. The branch breaks causing Freya to instincts kick in as she pulls her scythe and charged forward. It was clear that it was heard because the woman called out to her, looking in the direction that Freya was. The skill ends and she finds herself standing in front of the female with the long curve metal pointing at the ground. Freya was wearing a pair of dark blue short shorts with a navy green tank top. A pair of combat boots that held the color of dark brown.

"I can honestly say I have never been called a demon before." Eying this girl very carefully making sure that she was not going to do anything stupid. "I was here looking for more ingredients for recipes in my shop but somehow this seems more interesting at the moment." Looking down at the rocks and that were suck in slightly. A hole in the middle from were that weapon was held. Realizing that she still had her scythe out, she would step back a bit placing it back where she pulling it from. "To be honest I have never seen another scythe user, so that and the crazy language that you were just speaking caught my eye. Made me curious about what you were hoping to do here. I am Freya by the way." This girl didn't seem like a threat but she would still keep her guard up because she really wasn't the best judge of character when it came to others. @Illisandra

A long journey back to his hut. He had already payed tribute to the town just meters from his joint. One less thing to worry about. Coming back from the snowy fields and desert lands, the day had really gotten away from him. It was better that the alternative though. Probably about a mile from hits place that he kept hidden, there would be little green lizards pacing quickly toward him. "What the hell" he would say in a confusing tone. He didn't find those specific lizards in this area. They were further out from this place. With two spiders walking behind him, one a white color and the other a blackish grey color. Both were larger than the others that were hanging on his belt in cages. A green lizard with a large head and a cobra that was wrapped around his upper arm with its head looking out in front of them. Picking up what he could in passing, and placing them in a small empty cage. "Shit" saying as he would find his Hut door slightly open and a cage broken open on the ground empty. He knew he forgot something this morning, now he knew what. Without the door being locked it opens freely. It didn't have a latch on it to click it shut, that would have to change.

Picking up the cage watching in it would swing shut, he had some fixing to do so that this didn't happen again. A few minutes later he hears someone call out LIZARDS. Turning and peeking out finding a white-haired female staring back at him. "Uh, hello" he would say as both the large spiders run out at her. They almost looked excited to see her. The door would fling out and quickly back in, he would put his hand out so that it didn't come back and smack him in the face. "You must be Nisahime, my friend mentioned you might be missing some pets." The Gecko on his shoulder starting making a noise that he never heard from the little thing. The Cobra starts to slither down his arm, he would point all his fingers out and move his hand closer to the ground so that there was no dropping down. The Gecko hops down that same arm as the both rush to Nisa's aid. "Damn, I thought they were sticking around cause they liked me" saying with a small smile before walking in and lighting the lantern hanging from the ceiling. He would prop the door open with a metal bucket and sit on the floor with a few tools and duck tape with the busted cage in front of him. "I must have filled the cage to much, causing the weight inside to crash down." Making a few adjustments on the sticks, a few wrapping of strings that would work on holding the sticks together.

"My friend Sam says that you helped her and that you might be able to help me. She demanded that I talked with you." Didn't really know with what. He was having nightmares and couldn't kill anything without the fear of losing control. No one person was a magical being or god for that matter. How the hell could this woman help him. @Nisahime

Venturing into the swampy mess of a floor. She needed more inspiration for the music being created back home. It could come from literally anything. Watching people fight, seeing creatures in their natural habitat. The breath of natures winds and emotional roller coaster of weathers that shift whenever they wanted to. She just needed that spark, that tiny gleam of weird or crazy that would send her brain into a fun erratic sense of joy. That was when she saw her, a female wearing a maid outfit walking in a place like this. That was weird, why would someone be wearing something like that of all things walking in the middle of no where. The woman walked like she was disgusted with this place so why come.

Back against a tree, peeking around following her. This was what she was after, that crazed short story of another. Dashing behind trees, small splashes of water against her boots. After a few jaunts forward she finds that creatures would spring up from the large pools of water. Something would gleam in the woman's fingers. Right them she would see what she now knew as weapons hiss through the air, the woman would give a small whistle. At first it didn't look like she was going to hit the fished humanoids but when she gave that hushed tone from her lips they would switch it's chorus and plunge holes like daggers through the targets. Sam was simple amazed, the only thing that she as see like that was her arrows but this woman had no bow.

It was then that those eyes struck fast in Sam's direction. She was frozen still, not from being scared but rather impressed with the show. At first her hands would go up, "I mean you no harm, but I have be watching you for ten minutes tops" she didn't want to lie to this woman, that would make for a bad first impression although the confession might do just the same. It was better than the alternative though. "I'm here for inspiration for my music and watching you fight has been the light of my day. I am Samantha Rose." Seeing some more creature spawn behind the woman, she would quickly take her bow out, pull that arrow back and aim up with a swift release. The lights would move through the air at mock speeds and hit one target. A few moments later that arrow would burst and split outward into four different fragments before twisting back and driving themselves into each creature present created a burst of light, ending their life line, behind the girl.

"If you want to take me down, you can try but I am not looking for any conflicts around here. You are the first person I've see out here all day." Looking that the outfit that the woman had on not, it was a maid outfit and it didn't scream out ready for battle. "To be honest it was the fighting and the no armor out in the wilderness that caught my eye. What you doing out here anyway? Maybe I can help out?" @Jibae

Wandering this muddied floor, avoiding the puddles at all cost. He was trying to find his drink of choice. He was old enough now as of a few days ago and if he was going to be a business man like his father was then he needed to have a drink that was always on tap for him to offer to another. The last few bars that he had gone to were filthy, full of costumers that were fighting and not appreciating the value of a single drink to the taste.

This bar was bigger than most, the clientele was a bit rowdy but nothing that he wasn't use to. Walking through the doors, seeing a person to the right throwing his guts up. Another crowd to the left playing poker and a fight breaking out in the back causing the employees to run and break it up. A sigh and a roll of his eyes as he tries to find a spot to sit. Walking past an almost empty table paying no mind, his wrist gets grabbed. Glancing down, she would apologize and say he was cute. He felt nothing from the interaction but she was clearly trying to play him like a record.

Sitting down at the table with the pink haired woman, observing her. He cheeks were not flustered, there was no slur to her words to him. As she breathed near him her breath didn't smell like anything that would say that she was in anyway tipsy. Taking the cuff links off and setting them in her suit pocket. Rolling up his sleeves keeping her gaze. Taking a breath, blank face "If that is the best pick up line, you better work a little harder." Glancing to the mug that she was drinking from with stained lipstick on it. Leaning into her, "If you want to appear actually drunk, you should eat or drink something that will actually make your breath smell that way, and put some form of red blush on." This was said in almost a whisper, he didn't want to ruin her act. Getting up from his seat he would set a hand on her shoulder. "Also, I don't play for your team honey" a last glance at the woman before removing his hand and walking to the front counter to order a drink. The chairs up here were pretty clear so if given the option the woman could come sit with him if she still wanted to chat. "Scotch, neat" he would tap once of the counter. The last think that he had told her wasn't exactly a lie. There had been pretty girls that sat on his lap to get what they wanted from him, it never phased him. Even when his twin told him they were flirting with him, in a real way he was disgusted. He wasn't sure if it was being they were doing just being they wanted something or because it was a girl but either way, it was the same reaction. @Rosaria

Instead of drawing today she was going fishing. In her store she had been working with beef and pork. That was the extent of the meats that were being used for her little food experiments. So far she had come up with a beef patty that had bits of fruits or veggies mixed inside. Another thing that she had come up with is slicing a raw slap of pork in half, but not all the way through. Washing, peeling and slicing potatoes into thick slices with some cheese layer and you have yourself some stuffed pork. Not sure if that was actually how people did that but it was most certainly her way.

She wanted to expand her food knowledge and she knew that she really didn't know how to but how hard could it really be right. Walking through the swamp lands, she kept landing puddles that were more than her leg length. It was a bit a travel before she would find anything remotely usable to catch fish in. She had bought a pole from the village behind her. They were not really that expensive for a basic wood tool. Maybe she would find a reason to come back another day to draw. There was beauty everywhere, you just had to find it.

Finally finding a small pond that held some fish she would sit on a sunk in rock. She was hoping that she wouldn't go down with it. Casting the line in the small pond after putting a worm on the pointy piece. She would wait for almost an hour and she had not caught a thing. They acted like they wanted to bite but then they would just float away like nothing had happened. She was about ready to give up, maybe buy the fish from the store but then she saw something rather amazing.

Something that looked like a cat pounced off a tree into another pond. She could see fish fly up in every direction but the cat like thing was no where to be seen. At first thought she had to go help her, she would stand and was about to rush to the things aid even if it attacked her. It might of been stupid after the fact but it didn't need to happen. The cat like person, she could see that the girl had features of a female. Standing in place, watching this Cat girl having a wrestling match with a fish, she couldn't help but smile. It was a whole lot more entertaining that this. After a minute she would see those kitty claws cut through the fist like butter and start eating it raw. She was unsure what to think, she knew that some fish could be eaten raw but she didn't think that this stuff could. On the other hand, people here didn't really get sick. The female would find Enya gazing at her and excitingly walks in her direction saying hi. "You have to show me how to do that. Also are those real, can I tough them" Enya would match the girls excitement tone in her own, as she drops the first pool and it splashes in the puddle drenching them both. Enya would just start laughing. @Majineko

Since that one adventure with Freya, Lanna and been doing some self containment. People would walk by and try talking to her and realize during the conversation that she wasn't to bright. When the conversation was finish they would walk away and she wouldn't see them again. This environment was nothing like that school setting. She couldn't play the crowd to her advantage and friends seemed completely impossible at this point. It was also the fact that many players had sent her into many situations that had almost ended up with her dead. She really had to stop believing everything that people said, it just got her into trouble or worse. This is when she started getting to know the NPC's on different floors. Most of them were nice and didn't tell her false information that ended badly.

She was unable to figure out how to get a shop opened like everyone else in this god forsaken place. It the real world it was her parents that helped get that set up. There was no one here to help her, so she was trying to figure out how she could help herself. She had eventually figured out that the NPC's that owned the shops like getting things and money. So for the last couple weeks she had been gathering out in the randomness of the fields on different floors to help the people out so that they didn't have to leave their store front. This was a new floor, new environment, new town and she was trying to work her magic on the bar keeper behind the counter.

"So what do you sell here and what is it made of?" She was sitting on a stool, hearing various whistles from the corners of the room. She was use to it. Wasn't sure why a white tank top with golden straps and a short skirt got so much attention for people that were not even human. This was beyond her comprehension. "Well the wine is made from all matter of berries and we use other fruits that are not on this floor. We usually have to wait for deliveries to come in from players that give a damn or head out ourselves to find what we need to make more." She could work with that, berries and fruits are not that difficult to gather. Floor one had a butt load in the orchard that surrounded the town of beginnings. "Well I can gather however much is needed but it will cost ya. You look out for a tailor that comes across these parts and sent them the me, Lanna." The NPC would just raise a brow. At first when she said price he thought that she was for sure going to mention col but she didn't. It wasn't like people came in here and told him what shop they had been working in. "Sure yea I can do this. I will listen around." The girl didn't seem to know this but if it got him free labor than sure he would try.

"Good, I'll be back in a while then." Right them a long orange haired female places a crate on the counter. An exchange in looks, at first Lanna was taken back. Another player had not even looked in her direction in a while. Looking into the crate full of supplies. "Hmm, looks like they are set for a minute. Was going to gather some more but if it was the third today, how much could they possible need." This girl was so bright eyed, it was nice to see someone that held nothing but a smile toward her. "If you have other deliveries to make, maybe I can help. I'm Lanna" she says holding a hand out to the woman with a smile. @Kasumi

Darting through the tree's watching as other players seem to be strolling on by. They looked lost, sucks to be them. She had been in this game long enough to know that no one could be trusted. That everyone was your enemy until proven not. Something that her father as drilled into her head. A bit ago she had found a listing of treasures that could be found around different floors. It was found on the ground in a tavern where it was crowed. No one would see he pick it up, but no one also saw it be dropped but her. She had already made a copy of it and knew that whoever lost this would of been extremely pissed that it was gone, she would tread with cation for every step that she took moving forward.

From the amount of people that were out here looking for what she could only imagine to be the broken church, she would need to get to it first. The coordinates had been set in her map locator system from what read on the slip of paper. Making sure that she was not seen, she would make her way quickly to the location that the NAV marker was leading her to. Arriving at the church that looked like it went through hell, she would smile. She had long passed the players in the words simply because she had the advantage. It this was really what the others were looking for then she couldn't enter through the frond doors. Making her way around the building, climbing on a small stack of crates, she would hop up to the roof. Finding a few glass windows she would use her elbow and strike hard against the glass. This caused it to shatter inward. Breaking a few more shards so that she didn't cut herself, she would leap in. Landing in perfect stance near the front where the warn down podium stood she would stand back up and glance around.

After a moment of looking she would find a very small box. Opening it up she would find a key. It was old fashion looking, one that you would find in a mystery novel that was filled with secrets that no one wanted you to find. Right then she would hear the metal lock from the outside break, looks like they finally made it. She would dash behind the benches and get low. The door crashed open, she would begin to army crawl toward the front doors, keeping low and quiet as she would hear heels tap against the concrete flooring. Hear this now knowing it was a woman, she would get to the back wall, turn and head to the doors. Getting up, standing straight up facing inward. She was miles away from the other jokers out in the wilderness. There was no way that they got here that fast. This was someone that she had not crossed paths with. The woman turns, sees Shayla standing there. "Lost hardly, lamb more like wolf. You need a key" Shayla says with a grin on her lips staring right at the woman, holding the key up so that it gleamed against the small light coming in from behind her. This must be the leader of the fools she saw. "Your flock of lambs are about 20 minutes away. Passed them on the way up here, don't worry I left them be." Shayla watched the woman carefully. "You can have the key and this paper I found on the floor of a bar. Was just wondering if I could have one item out of there? You can check the paper for the significance if you'd like." The paper would hold the coordinators of different treasure across multiple floors, It held value. Holding the key out with the paper as she would slowly walk forward and place in on the ground. There had to be some form of trust here right? Was this even a person that could trust, she would step back from the parchment and key and lean against one of the benches not taking her eyes off the woman. @Mirianna

A quest! oh how I had been sent down yonder amidst murky mires amidst fetid fiends. Commands from the top! Things were moving on this here floor and I were to provide a distraction. And, distracting is exactly what I was doing - with blade in hand I'd shank it into every other person - lips whispering sweet nothings into their ears. Watching as their senses became dulled with Madness.

Oh what a fun tool!

What a fun Enhancement!

I had infected a large part of the populace, and was eating a handful of popcorn, watching the fights break out - when suddenly..they started shifting away from me, and aiming their ire at another!

"Oh! Oho! OH OH OH!" I clapped, loudly and exuberantly when he addressed me. I was sent here as a distraction, and about halfway through my work - another had interrupted - making my job much easier, but never did I think it'd be The All Consuming Tyrant. Ahhh, the former 1st finger. I never really bothered to pay him too much attention until recently. "I should have guessed this~"  I practically sang in a sing-song tone, jumping one one foot to the other. I spun on my heel, white tailcoats flapping behind me as I gestured to the chaos that surrounded me. "Only you! my darling~" I cooed pausing to have a small dagger slice the throat of an oncomming guard - invoking him with madness. "Be a sweetie pie and go kill your friend~" I said as I pointed at the nearest guard. The NPC roared in a blind rage, spittle flying ever which way before storming and tackling his so called friend. The two were now duking it out, leaving me a small magical moment with the man of the hour!

I pranced over to him, slinging an arm over his shoulder. "SOoo nice to see you, by the by..." I leaned in and offered him a small smoochie smooch on his cheek before ducking and pulling away, holding both palms up to him, allowing my dagger to fall to the ground. "Oh nono! No harm no foul! I'd not want your wifey to hunt me!" I said as with a small stomp on the dagger would send it flying up and landing in another guard. "One moment, my sweet flame!"

Turning my back on Lancaster I grabbed the weapon and shivered in delight as I pressed it deeper into the NPCMAN that felt so fucking good. "Kill your friend!" I'd say, pointing at another guard. It was much more fun to watch the guards fight each other, after all. This town was small, a rinky dink middle o nowhere kinda place and with the chaos I had wrought before, plus this mans rampage, there were little guards left. More time for me to have even MORE fun. What a rare moment.., I had to soak it up as much as I possibly could.

"Lannie! I can't believe you know who I even am!" I swooned as I spun back around to give him a sweeping bow, scraping my foot against the charred floor. "Pleasure is all mine, oh yes. Mine in spades and hearts and clubs." I grabbed my tophat as it almost toppled to the floor then rose again - my amber eyes gleaming in sheer delight as they landed upon the man.

The talk of the town, stepping down from his position as First Finger? Not to be touched, what strings did he pull? Oh how I wanted to know. "I was worried." I said in a fake tone, putting on so much stress on each word, as though it was a true lament, rivaling that of Romeo and Juliet. "Oh How my heart ached wondering if you were okay, if you had grown weak but my how you warm the cockles of my heart!" I cried out, reaching out to shake one of his hands with a hard yank.

"You must tell me! You must you must! What did she do to pull you in such a way? Ohhh!" I hit my head with the palm of my hand as though I had forgotten something. "Oh that's right! I met your little waif! Mari. Strong, but high strung! Oh man!" I laughed as I gave Lancaster a little elbow and a few winks.

"Don't worry, I'll nudge her in the right direction for you. Mentalism is my game after all! Hah!" I turned and gestured to the sky..

"This prison! Oh I want to stay in this digital playground prison! Don't you? You can idle away your days in lavish style and happiness with your lil'...." I waved off my hand, "Orange delight. Right? Right?"  I bounced on one spot.

"So, did I do good? Am doing good? Can you call me a good boy cause I have been oh so good!" I grinned, pausing as my voice lowered, a giddy tone laced with a dark intent.. "So much so that I see how she listens. She's pretty easy to tip over that edge, huh?"

The moment was gone in a flash as I shrugged, "No harm, no harm of course!"  The last thing I needed was for him to think  I was hurting Mari. No, I just wanted to sway her opinion, slowly and surely till she'd be rompin' around the playground with us. Maybe, just maybe Lancaster would return and we could have our glory.

@Lancaster

Khione took a deep breath, fingers spread and pressed against her forehead. It was throbbing. Today had been a day.She just wanted to be able to relax, but no - here she was...in  a marshland covered floor. A job for Rosaria, she dropped off a group of 4 men to the Laughing Coffin, all louts - a few blacksmiths and tailors at least. Kione wondered if that made a difference or not. The only request was that they were a 'low enough level to manage' Khione understood - to an extent. It would take less manpower to reign in a low leveled player - but she thought it might be better to target people who would at least be somewhat useful. Low combatant level, but high blacksmithing level for instance - one of the men she had sent Rosaria's way had been a Grandmaster blacksmith, a seedy little fucker who practically jumped at the chance to follow Khione. The job was done at least. But now...

A dozen messages chimed in her ear- all from a certain player killer in a white suit. Vex the ever constant thorn in the womans side. She ignored him, and had gone to the nearest tavern she could find. A ramshackle place just off the path- between here and the docklands.

The woman struggled enough to navigate the bars patrons. Side stepping a lecherous man, and another who almost spilled his drink on her. She was almost to the bar - almost not wanting to be there as she heard a large man screaming at the top of his lungs, even worse? He was referring to himself in third person.

"Tch...disgusting..." She muttered as he distracted himself with eating. She wasn't going to deal with this, not today. The woman flicked her hair over her shoulder and gave the man a mental fuck you as she turned to leave...only to have her foot land on an errant strand of half chewed meat.

"Shiii-"

BANG

The woman landed straight on her ass, tripping on the discarded food. "God fucking DAMMIT!" She hissed.

RAZOR FINDS YOUR FALL HUMEROUS."

"Do you always fucking refer to yourself in third person?" Khione snapped at 'THE RAZOR' as she pushed herself up off the ground, taking the time to dust herself off. "Seriously...." She muttered, picking the rind of meet from her behind and flicking it at THE RAZOR - it landed against his armour with a wet schlick sound, and remainded firmly affixed to his attire. The woman felt a small level of satisfaction at that.

"Shouldn't the Razor at least buy a lady a drink, if he's going to fucking laugh at the mess HE caused?"

Khione had information on all manner of people, but this man before her, she hadn't the slightest fucking clue who he was. If she was going to deal with this, she'd need a very very strong drink. And if he continued to mock her without some sort of kickback the woman would simply leave. She was too sober to deal with this shit, on top of whatever innane bullshit Vex was sending her.

The lower floors were never this complicated, nor the higher ones - it was always the mid floors that attracted the weirdos. And there was just something in the air today...was it a full moon or something?
