Just as Cascade had thought, the peculiar girl was indeed significantly stronger than herself. Power hummed faintly around her, quiet but undeniable, like a storm pretending to sleep. Had she come by just to drop off the snake? No explanation- just that errie calm. She was an odd, little thing. Cascade shifted her weight, loosening her stance a bit. Fine, be mysterious. She turned her attention back to Reytac and the bird. In all truth, she really did wish for Rey's success. She watched as he held out his hand toward the Raven. "How about it then, little beauty. What's it gonna

"Is this deeper than just a simple kidnapping attempt?" "I'm...not sure." Came Mari's reply as she pulled out a map from her inventory, she checked the tag. Wrong person, then another, nope...not that one. Third time was the charm. "The man is definitely not working alone. But, this was a sloppy attempt - one of opportunity. Clearly." Mari glanced toward the town, frowning. "One that never should have happened, if only someone stepped in." A slight to the people holed up in the safe zone. Mari wouldn't fault those who didn't want to fight, but there had been players there - ones capable o

Lynn replied to Jibae's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Yeah, I guess... Haha." The fake laugh really had her deciding if she could get away with strangling Eruda in some back alley. Its not like she wasn't wearing decent boots or whatever, this place just sucked. Big time sucked. "What gave it away?" Lynn comments after a sigh of relief now that Eruda was taking on the burden, allowing her to get her damn foot out of the mud. "Maybe, I gotta say...you're pretty cool. Strong too, obviously. Thanks for showing me around." The girl was about as friendly as one could be, practicing a decent amount of faux appreciation that was very well masked as hon -

Playing away with her strange captive audience and yet she felt like the captee here. Who these girls were was quite the curious question, given they seemed to arrive out of nowhere and she wasn't exactly in the middle of a busy street. Song after song concludes and every so often Candice can pick out one of them in the dark, actually seeming to enjoy the music wholeheartedly. It was as endearing as it was creepy. Half way through another verse, the amplifier behind her on her right begins to spark and burst in a loud boom. All she can make out with her ears ringing is the faintest hum. "The h -
A slow, easy smile spread across his face as Mari expressed her content with the violin's condition. If it was something that was sentimental to her, than that's all that mattered. He was not offended in the slightest that she turned down his offer to tinker on that one peg. Though the mental image of Mari with a tongue ring.. probably something he should not admit to imagining. "Feeling a lot of that lately." Jomei would remark after softly clearing his throat. "I think.. all of the stuff we saw on Floor Twenty Nine really messed with our heads." Tapping the side of his head for em

Miki replied to Jibae's topic in Intermediate Floors
The girl comments on her violin like she knew what happened to the one she originally had. How could she though, Miki didn't know this girl. "Ooo I love Mochi. The strawberry one is my favorite, I like your name Shiina. It has a nice ring to it." They would both laugh and Miki would jump a bit when the amp blows up on stage. "How the heck?" questioning but then slowly looks to Shiina with a brow raised. This girl knew things that she shouldn't, there was something about her. The girl would speak again about her violin and finding it. This is when Shiina froze but was nodding like she was -
’Ready…? I’m not sure I’m ready, but I am willing.’ There may not have been confidence in her tone, but the rigid stance and determined expression upon her face likely more than made up for the fact that she felt a nervousness in her core that seemed to be expanding. She’d made it this far, and she knew that she would continue pushing forwards as long as she could – even if that meant completing challenges for gods that were anything but gods. ’What is to be my challenge today?’ Hestia’s eyes seemed to linger on Nari for a long time before the goddess spoke again, the tone somehow transi

Shiina replied to Jibae's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Of course it is." Shiina remarks without a whole lot of context to what she was responding to, bobbing her head from left to right in time with CC's playing and staring intently at the stage and all of the festive streaks of color. "OH your violin? Right, its pretty messed up right?" The songstress responds quizzically to Miki as if she knew more then she let on. "The names Mochi, Shiina. Yeah like the food. I know its weird but tough tiddies." The girl cackles wildly and presents a hand to shake. The music amplifies as the girl laughs, causing one of CC's amps to blow and send a spray of spa -
Further moments had passed before Nari had gained the courage to step into the hallway beyond the entryway, making her way into a corridor that led to a singular point. She’d come to a stop at the end of the corridor, facing a kitchen and dining room that could be called anything but humble. Her eyes had passed over everything quickly, noticing how the entire design was a mix of modern – stoves, fridges, and countertops lining one side of the room – and near medieval design, with a corner of the room given to a large, fire burning hearth and cauldron. ’Welcome, Nari-Lanreth, cook of Mor

’It has been an honour to guide and attend to you on this travel to Olympus.’ The satyr turned and bowed to Nari as they approached the main gates of the gods’ house. Nari had passed little in the way of conversation back and forth following their deep commentary on the climb, though she had remained civil and polite. Her thoughts had wandered for a while, to a point where she’d found herself having to focus on some of the lesson’s Onora had taught her for rebalancing herself. ’Thank yo-‘ Nari had turned to thank the satyr, only to find herself standing alone. She wasn’t sure how long sh

Her legs burned slightly as the incline increased, a typical response to the change in her stance and stride required in order to climb the mountain’s side. Nari smiled gently at the words, uncertain whether there was any true humanity behind them, and yet feeling as though they were far too human for the artificial creation that strode beside her. She knew it was one of the many wonders of Aincrad – the way in which unreal characters that were nothing more than amalgamations of code brought together and mashed into some sort of personality, could provide the most real connections. ’That

’Thanks. It’s…thanks, I really appreciate the encouragement.’ She glanced back up the mountain, the peak coming closer and closer with each step. ’Sometimes I think I forget just how much I’m doing in this…world…and then it hits me, and it’s just…a lot.’ She wasn’t entirely sure why she was being so open and honest with the satyr. Perhaps the fact that it wasn’t a real person, that it likely wouldn’t remember or be able to repeat this conversation, made it easier to speak more freely for Nari. Or perhaps it was simply the right place, and the right time for the words to come out. Whateve

The satyr eyed Nari for a few seconds, as if trying to judge whether she was joking or not, before deciding to simply take the higher road on her response. ’I would appreciate that, and I would make sure to share it with everyone else as well! I’m sure that many among the serving staff would also appreciate it, depending on how much there is!’ Nari gave a small nod, the smile still across her face as she glanced up towards the mountain that was coming ever closer. A part of her mind was wondering again, wondering exactly what would be in store for her once she arrived at the mountain’s p

’She is indeed kind to us; all of us. It is a blessing in itself to be able to serve alongside Hestia – not as equals, never presumed, but certainly as appreciated caretakers and helpers.’ The satyr bopped along suddenly, as if some ice block had been removed from it, and it suddenly felt comfortable speaking more fully. The voice was somewhat feminine, and Nari noticed for the first time that the guide appeared to be a woman of middling age; a first that she had come across – her previous escorts all being males. ’One of the benefits of serving with Hestia is the foods…once your mortal kind h

’I’m sure you’ll find out for yourself soon enough.’ There was no malice in the voice or comment, although Nari did see the satyr eyeing her out of the corner of its eye for a few seconds, before it seemed to decide to add on to its original commentary. ’Though…she is known to be rather kind to those who visit her.’ Nari jumped on the comment, deciding that she would carry the conversation a bit – perhaps her coldness had reached the other satyr’s that lived and operated out of Olympus, and they’d taken an instant dislike to her now. ’Oh? What about to you? Is she kind to you, and your…c

Nari silently hoped the same, however kept herself from saying anything aloud. She had no reason to believe this trip would be different from any previous one she’d partaken in to get to Olympus; they’d all been pre-arranged to be uneventful and boring, so as to ensure those lower players attending the fields on such a high floor would be able to do so without worry to their lives – a kind action by Cardinal that Nari still hadn’t figured out the purpose behind. She’d never known the system to pull itself back on aggression or danger; in fact, it had usually shown its desire to inflict as much

Slamming against the tree, breathing was heavy and his chest felt like it had a hundred pounds of whoop ass on it. Placing a hand on the trunk, sweating up a storm. Taking off his soaked shirt and tossing it to the ground. Rushing at the woman, who the hell was she to tell him. Throwing a first her way, moves very quickly out of the way. Grabbing his wrist, twisting it back and up. Feeling his should crack as she folds his wrist up toward his neck which Lium can feel snap as well. Right then Nisa will shove him to the ground and pull her hands back up waiting. Lium will slowly start to get bac -

Nisahime replied to Jibae's topic in Intermediate Floors
"For a big strong man, you sure don't accept responsibility very well." Nisahime goads closing the gap and getting within an inch of his face, slipping underneath his guard and getting suggestively close. Her statement is followed by a haymaker that slams into the side of his jaw, proving just how much more experienced she was by comparison to the kid at this. Nisahime's arm wraps around his throat and drives his skull into her knee, not an ounce of care as the data rips from the cut wound. "Let me correct those words for you, its time you figured it out. Repeat after me, Lium. 'I almost kille -

For Now.... He says. Mari couldn't help but offer a small amused smile at that, so he was self aware at least. The blunt honesty was far more welcomed than whatever false platitudes he was spouting earlier. She liked it, it made him more human, and by proxy...far more bearable. The two had made their way to the staircase between floors. It was a long descent, but at least they were heading down. A far side better than going up. Finally arriving at the 10th floor Mari stretched, there was such a feeling of familiarity with the 10th floor...this was in all but name, her home for years. A qu
