  1. I Just for the Halibut His eyes flipflopped between the two fisherman. Derrick, the Spear Fisher, was one of two things: a liability or a really, really good shot. He carried a spear over his shoulder and a harpoon gun at his waist. Clearly, he was no amateur. The tip of the spear was stained with blood. Derrick didn't need to show a resume; his experience was up for display. Slung over the shaft of the spear were a dozen dead Fossil Fish, the very things Morningstar was hunting. Renault was less of a combatant and more of a strategist. He was older, gruffer, and wiser with a
  2. Star stuck his sword into the ground and leaned up against a craggy magma rock. Hirru made a good point. Their list of field bosses was long and the hunter had his own stamina to worry about. He peered at his energy bar. He had more than enough for a few more rounds. It was Nian's that they needed to worry about. Her level was lower than the rest, and that meant her energy supply was smaller too. He estimated that she would have plenty for the next Phoenix that spawned, but beyond that he couldn't count that she'd have any left over. She had impressed him, though. Behind her rough exterior, sh
  3. Remington did most of his work in a large white tent near the center of town. As Florenthia's zoologist, it was his job to catalog and study the local wildlife. Deer, firefoxes, rare fauna. He had data on every known species on the Fourth Floor. That was the reason he and Morningstar had met in the first place. His expansive research included that of the Monkey King, and the two of them, alongside a Florenthian guard, had worked together to hunt the creature. Star had come back on a few expeditions into the Fourth's forest since then, and challenged the King on multiple occasions. He rare

  5. Quest Six kilograms of vanilla. Was that not overkill? Who was this even for? One farmer in Florenthia had what he was looking for. Uprooted by war, she had settled in a small hut at the edge of the town, where she raised and sold odd plants. The climate allowed for vanilla, and so she grew lots. "Six kilograms, please," Morningstar placed a lumpy bag of col on the counter. "Of which variety?" The farmer asked. Star was stumped. "Uh... What are my options?" "Great Tailed Deer Vanilla or Baobab Vanilla." "Baobab, I guess." That wasn't so hard. H
  6. He was more or less familiar with Wulfrin's capabilities, but their new recruit remained a mystery to him. He was pleasantly surprised to see that she at least knew how to use her weapons. Claws. He had never seen them before—not in use, anyway. He knew they existed, but they weren't popular among the masses. Maybe it was the range disadvantage, like daggers. The aesthetic was cool, so it couldn't have been their appearance. He listened to their strategist and alternated sword arts, even if it only reduced his energy usage by a sliver. The phoenix burned up as Star slashed through it
  7. "I swear, I have nothing to do with the pirates," Morningstar grinned, quickly cutting down the Skyrat Raider. He hurried towards the ladder, and eased himself up, one step at a time. The next floor of the ship was the main deck, where most of the passengers were located. Unfortunately, a good number of those passengers were pirates. Star could hear them talking up ahead, behind a door. The captain's quarters, maybe. He waited for Nari to make her way up before bursting in. He couldn't always be reckless. "What's the plan?" Star asked, peeking around the corner to make sure the coast was
  8. Seriously, how do people like this? Morningstar replied, "Delusion, probably. Off we go, then." With another successful quest completed, the three players wandered back through the forest, eventually landing in Snowfrost once again. At the tavern, the party raged on. The bards played loudly and through open doors, Morningstar thought he recognized the song they were singing. They'd repeated it a few times that night. One trick ponies, it seemed. "I'm calling it. Way past my bedtime," Star said, bidding the pair farewell. He cracked a crystal and zapped himself back home. Ra
  9. The cavalry arrived and the party began. Freyd stylishly took the lead, engaging with Ugzeke as if they were old frenemies. Morningstar wasn't familiar with Shiina or Eruda, but he remembered Raidou from some point in time. Something about apples, he thought. Wulfrin was consistent as always. Star welcomed the familiar face and observed as he made his move against the troll. He had gotten better over the months they had known each other. When improvement was at the forefront of one's mind, he supposed that was inevitable. As if he had been doing it his whole life, he stunned Ugzeke,
  10. "I dunno, it was kind of cool," he shrugged, joking. Absolute Zero had come dangerously close to falling on him, which was still not as bad as being stepped on, he thought. Nym rejoined the pair, and Star smiled at her remark. "Can't have Freyd feeling sad, can we?" The clearing felt a lot more open without Zero stomping about. The sound of the earth quaking was gone, and only the wind remained. "It's cold. Should we head back to town? Or do you two have more to do out here?" He asked. He was willing to stay out and help with any work they needed to get done, but leaned towards the former
  11. Morningstar raised a brow at the newcomer. He didn't recognize her; she wasn't a frontliner, as far as he knew, and she didn't look particularly strong. Looks could be deceiving, though. "Make your choice," Star told her. "We should head out now. We're losing daylight." ----- He had killed the Phoenix once, before the previous boss fight, alongside members of his raid party. He could remember the general vicinity it spawned in, and thankfully it took them little time to locate it. He cleared his throat. "I don't think an extensive strategy is necessary, but don't fight too recklessly
