[BR-F21] Paving the Way to Floor 22 (Floor 21 Boss Battle - Tesseleth the Tyrant)

Recommended Posts

The boss was near death and Jonathan could feel the attitude in each players around him. 'They have all moved from the attitude of surviving, to getting the last hit.' Jonathan knew that it was most likely not his group that was getting the last hit. Which was a shame, as it would assure the Ascendants got it. Four DPS players would go before him, meaning that it was pointless for him to even TRY to attack. He knew Calrex, Zandra, Jomei, and Hirru could deal more than enough to damage to finish it off. He slowed his breathing, moving to step in front of the boss. He rose his shield and decided to use his <<HOWL>> ability to shout something to the entirety of the boss fight. "YOU GUYS HAVE GOT THIS! BRING IT IN FOR THE WIN!" He shouted cheerfully. In a T.V, Show the dragon would bull some sort of BS move and wipe the entire party. Preparing for a roaring attack from the dragon, he rose his shield to his face. Anything could happen, including instant destruction of him.

Boss Room Info: The boss room is a large cavern, with many earthen columns, stalactites, and stalagmites. Littered throughout the room are crystallized warriors who seem to be frozen in place... and time. Some of the ones that remained intact inside the crystals wore solemn and determined expressions while others showed fear and agony as though they have seen pure hell in their last moments. They wore different types armors and weapons but most of the ones inside the crystals in relatively good condition, wore long dark colored capes.

Several shallow pools of clear water lay scattered throughout the cave, they resemble dark spots in the ground, reflecting what awaits above. The ceiling of the cave is high and obscured by darkness, preventing players from seeing the top. Up there ,on a large perch, stands a large winged creature watching down over this desolated domain of darkness. A dragon engulfed in obsidian scales and mists notices movement and noises below. It lets out a loud high pitched warning roar towards all that try to trespass into his capital lands.

Tesseleth Abilities:

First Attack: Tesseleth’s first attack against the first active party will be Dragon Fire. If he is dropped below 75% health in the first round, he will use Dragon Fire, and THEN do his HP related move set.

Slash (Basic Attack): CD 1-7:  Deals 350 Mitigable Damage with it’s claws and/or mouth, to its main target.

Crystallize (Special Attack): CD 8-10, Tesseleth shoots a crystal spine at the active party's main target. The player becomes encapsulated in crystal (paralyzed) and loses 2 hate.  The player remains paralyzed until 100 Damage is dealt to the crystal in order to free him. Tesseleth then immediately performs a (Basic attack) aimed at the non-crystallized main target.

Dragon Fire (AoE Attack) : CD 11-12: Deals 100 unmitigatable damage and sets the active party's main and 3 secondary targets on fire, dealing 50 Burn DOT3. Players may jump into one of the 15 pools of clear water that are scattered around the room and cancel the DOT3; it takes one post action and after usage, a pool shrivels up and disappears.

HP Related Moves : When Tesseleth loses 25% of it’s health (It has 4 Health Bars) it revives crystallized knights which attack after the next party. The dragon flies up to its perch where it can't be attacked. On its next turn, the dragon releases a (Party AoE Attack) against the active party then drops down where it can be attacked again.

Ruby had taken a deep breath as the battle had pursued, noticing its health growing shorter and shorter moment by the moment, however looking over to her team mates she had seen that most of them had taken their actions, however it didn't get just right for her to necessarily kill it. She had simply sighed and looked over to her team mates and even team mates over and she had seen no one in dire need of some help, or ones that actually do need help. She had taken a sigh and just did nothing, it was rather disappointing that she wouldn't be able to battle it at all this boss, but at least she had done quite a bit of healing. She had looked over to her team mates some she had knew some she didn't then over to Jomei, then to just the plethora of other people, this was her first boss battle and she was so glad that eventually it was defeated... even if it took quite a long time to beat.

The mighty dragon's head swung to face the second group of players, piercing red eyes accounting for each of the players. To his dismay, he realized that one of the players had already gone missing, yet his location was soon revealed when Tesseleth felt the sting of a dagger pierce through the scales atop his head. In swift succession, he felt the same weapon cut across his body in multiple directions. The dragon watched as the stealthy player landed upon the ground again, bearing its many rows of razor like teeth. This moment of focusing on the opposite player was the opportunity Itzal needed to attack, landing a devastating hit that knocked one of Tesseleth's legs out from under him for a moment.

Tesseleth struggled to raise itself up onto all fours again, its gargantuan body locking up with each small movement. Had these puny players managed to lock the Tyrant in place yet again? They would pay for their insolence against the mighty beast. However, the onslaught did not end there, as a third player in the group rushed at the paralyzed dragon, his fists strikes Tesseleth in various vital spots. The dragon let out a pained roar as the attack came to a close.. the singular health bar that remained depleting to a dangerous low.

Despite the destructive attacks of the players, nothing angered Tesseleth more than the shout of the blonde haired player, instilling faith in his comrades that they would secure a swift victory. The dragon's body shuddered, before its mouth opened wide with a vicious roar directly directly at Morgenstern.

Only a sliver away from completing the raid, Macradon would look at the status of the other parties, everyone were doing their thing, everyone were still doing OK, no one in any kind of critical condition, everyone were fine. Looking over at Calrex, Macradon had nothing else to do right now, so he would go in for a bit of damage, just taking out a bit of it, slowly helping the rest withering him down, getting closer and closer to victory, which helps everyone advance through the floors. This raid was taking quite some time, much longer than the other boss raids he had been at, so it was quite the change going from Tier 2 riads to Tier 3 raids, something new to shake things up. Seeing the presence of Ari and Life_Subtractor, Macradon had felt their small amount of help adding a bit of damage helped, despite their will to help that much they did.

Battle Dice: 10 (Accuracy +3) = 13 (+2 Damage)
Sword Art: All Might (17 Energy Used / 1 Recovered / 44 Remaining)
(20x15) - 135 = 165 Damage to Tesseleth

"This battle seems to be nearing its close, unless there's some weird trick this boss still has up its sleeve. I haven't seen any game-changing tactics like that just yet, and I think I appreciate that Aincrad has decided to go for any cheap tricks like that. There's more than enough of those in regular explorations."

Watching as Tesseleth's health dropped into the red zone of its last health bar Calrex gave a calm breath while briefly closing his eyes, clenching his right hand into a fist once again. The light of <<All Might>> returned once again with an even brighter intensity than before. The afterburner visual effect seemed to be even stronger now, and when he rushed forward it seemed like he had a rocket attached to his arm.

Right after Macradon scored his own attack on the massive dragon the Ultramarine Knight immediately followed up and flew towards Tesseleth's face once again, as if he had completely disregarded the fact the boss had just chomped down on him previously. Bringing his fist back his eyes focused once again in the same area he had struck the past two times.

Sending his punch forward it smashed into the same area, but this time it felt different. The impact was stronger, but the resistance was lessened, not so much by a reduction in mitigation, but wearing over time. "Geezes...did I just take out a tooth? I meant that as a joke."

He didn't have time to confirm the visual result, but the critical red numbers flew by his vision once again before his momentum gave out and he dropped back to ground level.

In rapid succession, the two players of the third time struck Tesseleth with devastating blows. The swordsman representing the Knights of The Blood Oath rushed in first, his bastard sword cutting along the jaw of the dragon, bypassing through the weakened scales, and leaving a fresh red gash that stretched along its face. The Ultramarine Knight moved in soon after, his fist carrying him forward at speeds faster than Tesseleth's reaction time. The boss soon felt the collision of Calrex's fist upon the side of his face, knocking the dragon off of its feet and onto its side.

Tesseleth let out a low grumble as the paralyzing effects wore off, and he was able to bring himself to his feet yet again. Blood red eyes stared down the player who had made a mockery of him, opening its mouth wide to reveal one of its fangs had been knocked out by the strike. Tesseleth knew he was on his last let, but he would not go down without a fight. Turning itself around quickly by whipping its tail, Tesseleth launched an obsidian spike at Calrex, piercing the man in his shoulder. From the point of contact, the bluenette's body began to become encased in a thick crystal, trapping him in place. With one of the players out of the way, Tesseleth's eyes quickly turned to Macradon. Rushing forward, the dragon took the knight between his mouth, razor sharp teeth digging into the thick armor before tossing the player to the side.

There was only a pinprick left of Tesseleth's health before the hunter could move once more.  If anything, they would be the ones to end it all.  Without much thought into getting the last hit, the hunter decided to weaken the boss for either Jomei or Zandra to get the final hit.  Heck, if either of them don't get it, Shield might get it with his thorns.  Either way, it would be in everyone's interests to smash the last part of its health.

Of course, with Calrex crystallized, there was one less tank out, but the dragon should be dead before it got back to him and Mac.

"Shield!  Energize Jomei.  I don't think he will be able to use his full strength with what he has.  Zandra!  Give it your all, and don't you miss!"

The hunter called out before readying Loyalty with the familiar hum of emerald light.  Bursting forward, the jade haired hunter ripped through the very same point for the fourth or fifth time, he already forgot.  After killing the most knights (2), he was already winded enough to forget some information about the boss fight.

Jumping back, the hunter gritted his teeth.

"The battle ends with us!"

"Are you kidding me?" Jomei grunted to himself through grit teeth when Shield chose to Energize Beat over his own party member. All for the damn last drop bonus. Olive eyes scanned the battle field, noticing a similar greedy eye in a few of the other players. Is this really what it's come to? Focusing more on the materialistic rewards rather than the fact we live another day? "Fine. I don't care about that damn item anyway... I just want to go home."

With Hirru's shout after attacking, Jomei snapped back to reality. "Right." he said to himself before rushing forward with his Over Radiation sword art one last time. The weary duelist charged forward with the last of his energy, thrusting his blade into the neck of Tesseleth. Jomei dragged his blade down the length of the dragon's body, continuing his assault with various slashes and stabs until the sword art had ended. With the last of his energy now depleted, Jomei leapt to create distance between himself and the dragon, but lost his footing as he hit the ground yet again. With heavy breath's, the ginger's body crashed into the ground. "J-Just kill it!" he shouted out to whoever was listening.

The berserk healer smirked. The dragon was almost done for. Its last helthbar som down in the yellow and very close to red. She smile at Hirru as he almost threatened her to not miss followed by Jomei added just kill it. ‘’Hehe, don’t you worry guys. This little lizard is no match for the dragoness.’’ She said and her focus turned to Teseleth. ‘’Ey! Lizard! This room is to small for two dragons. Are you ready to leave. For good!’’ And with that she darted forward, laughing because the joy of battle was over her. ‘’Hahaha!’’ Her axe started to glow as she got closer and closer. Her burning crimson eyes held contact with the fantasy creatures ruby globes. ‘’DIE PIECE OF FILTH!!’’ she screamed as she leaped up in the air, her axe in a two hand grip behind her. When right infront of the dragon with a smile on her face, she even felt the hot air of his breath. Then she activated the skill midair, making the blade fly in wide circle over her head, hitting him right behind the eyes. The axe cleaved thru the dragon and striked the floor under it. From the impact with the ground of the room, crete a shokwave dealing damage again. With the axe leaning on her shoulder she looks at the tiny red sliver that was left after Jomei and Hirrus attacks slowly disappeared. ‘’Hehe.’’

Tesseleth watched as his body soon felt heavier and heavier as his health dropped. Finally, his health bar depleted as his legs grew heavy, and they wobbled under his weight. With his last breath, he let out a wail of defeat, blasting fire and crystallizing breath everywhere, until finally, his body shattered into a million blue pixels. The flames and the crystals soon fell behind him and around the room, most joining together behind where Tesseleth was and made a semi-sort of a stair case. Soon, the flames fell and melted the crystals to form a purple, semi-transparent staircase that led up to a door that had been hidden by the large dragon. Soon after, the crystals that may have formed around players shattered, leaving them free to continue on. The sound of cheers could be heard coming from outside of the battle area, as the miners heard the defeat of Tesseleth, and they were finally free. The Frontliners had become heroes for the people on the 21st Floor, and their efforts will never be forgotten.

The Blade is made up of purple, semi-transparent material and the hilt itself is made of obsidian-like material. It's light, durable, and easy to use. The blade seems to give off a semi-purple aura, the rage and fury of Tesseleth still within the weapon and able to deal a finishing blow
