  3. ’You’re right, it’s easy to find yourself overly relaxed here…isn’t it?’ Onora glanced towards the fields in the distance, and Nari found herself nodding naturally along with the commentary. She let her gaze follow the blonde’s, taking in the various environment and wondering if it could ever have been something more inviting. If Aincrad could have been a second home to those who were stuck here now. ’If it wasn’t so dangerous…’ She wasn’t surprised at Onora’s similar train of thought. They’d had many a discussion about it in the past; going over how Aincrad could have been such a wonder,
  4. Nari was content to listen to Onora’s planning and scheming for a while, the calmness of the activity mixed with the leisure of her fishing experience putting her into an almost trance like existence. Her mind wandered, though where or over what she could not quite say – all she knew for certain was that she was focused upon the fishing, and the dangers around her, while also being entirely disconnected from the world in a sense. ’Still awake?’ The voice cut through the depths of her thoughts, and Nari found herself slowly looking towards Onora with a sudden realisation that the woman’s w
  5. Reytac wrapped the grayed out leather mask around his lower face, cutting off the pervasive ash that seemed to always be drifting downwards no matter how long he’d sat in the teleporter pavilion waiting for it to subside. It was strange, to see a place where the main source of lighting was literal thin streams of lava that wound through everything. He held up one hand and flexed it, watching the red hues on his skin shift and dance under the unnatural light and color shifting. A shuffling on his shoulder made him glance at Aphrael, who seemed distinctly unhappy here. One hand reached up and sc

  7. Of course they bit off more than they could chew. Dumbasses had no sense of proportion. And from Plum’s story, it sounded like quite the mystery. An important one. Because if people were going missing and not responding to messages, there was more at play than anyone realized. Stakes were higher than anyone realized. To the point that - in all honesty - if it had come across her plate before Plum had apprised her of the situation, Sin would have set off to handle it herself. And by “handle it,” she totally meant that she was gonna sic Oscar’s Hounds on it. “I don’t have to do a lot o
  8. She ought to have been used to it by now. It was always the same old song and dance: she would join a small party, offering whatever support she could provide (financial, strategic), in exchange for their protection on ventures outside of the safe zones. “I don’t fight,” she always warned them, before sifting through her inventory to share teleport crystals with the group. Never had the name of a weapon flashed across the screen. “My safety is my top priority.” “Then why not take responsibility for your own safety?” the leader of party spat at her once they had regroup

  10. Jomei hadn’t noticed the vials on the small table before, though he wished he had so he could have been a bit more prepared. When Mari suddenly turned her attention to the syringes like some doctor readying a patient for a vaccine, the serum within dripped from the needle’s point as she thumbed the plunger.. It was hard to stop the uncertainty from tainting his face. A scare tactic, filled with a mixture of mundane liquids that would do nothing more than frighten the man.. Possibly. On the other hand, Mari was an alchemist.Whether it was a poison, or something to loosen his lips, if anyone cou
  11. The ping of the notification brought Nari’s eyes down towards the small flashing to her right side. She would’ve sighed, if she wasn’t preoccupied in the moment. She’d been receiving notifications all morning about various going-ons, events and other things that swore needed her attention. A single hour of peace would be nice. Too much to ask, I guess. She flipped open the notification, checking to see what she was invited to – or declined access to, as it may be – this time. Her frustration drifted away as she saw the name, however. Reytac had accompanied her on a number of different q
  12. For a long moment she didn't move. The world had narrowed down to the weight of his hand in her hair, the low rhythm of his voice threading through the din of the club. Each word pressed against her like a confession, something inside her twisting hard in response. Her hands reached up slowly, grabbing his sleeve weakly. She hung her head low, the feeling of his fingers brushing against her cheek remained. "You dont get to say that," she managed, voice rough from crying. "You don't know what you're saying. You can't just-" her throat caught, "You can't just stay." She wanted to shov

  14. "No need to be so formal," Wulfrin smiled, his stern and alert exterior fading almost immediately back to its usual jovial state. "I'll send you the invite." With a few quick and precise motions through the menus, Wulfrin sent the party invite towards Vanta. Once she had had her fill of the provided feast, Wulfrin waved his hand and the feast returned to his inventory. With little care, Wulfrin entered the familiar shop of Zachariah. The old alchemist paid him no mind as the gentle chime of a bell marked his entrance. This was to be expected since Wulfrin had already completed this quest.
  15. Reytac sent off a message to both Nari and Acanthus – the two ladies had expressed at least mild interest in continuing the quest chain, and while he had needed a little time to re-equip himself that was now finished. He fidgeted, adjusting some of the buckles on the riveted leather. It was entirely a psychosomatic thing, he knew, since the game ensured the fit was fine, but he still felt like there were places where the armor was a bit too snug, and others where it was too loose, so he was constantly making minor adjustments to it. The brunette still wasn’t geared to the same level as either

  17. Alinta gave a small exhale. Relieved he was able to drink. “That’s it…” she reached out to run a hand through his head. “Nice and slow. Y-you’ve been through a lot.” Alinta didn’t know what he had been through. Or why those strange people knew his name. Why they were screaming, stark raving mad… and why he had invited her to that clearing in the first place. Did he get tricked? Scar was so level headed and cautious, he didn’t seem like the type of person who would be easily swayed. Once Scar had emptied his cup Alinta carefully took it, leaning over to the side table and placin
  18. I laughed, watching him lower his hands - slowly, ever so slowly. My, if I wanted to, I could have done him in ten times over by now. He thought he was being slick? Safe? Sly? Still, no use bursting his precious little bubble yet. I shrugged when he started asking me questions about Alice. “Ohh, does she tickle your fancy? All I know is that she's the bosses masterpiece. You were too addled to notice, no? How he dotes on her.” I pressed my palms to my cheeks. “Oohhh..you should have seen it! Ahh. she slipped so perfectly into wonderland, Oh Alice! Yes Alice! My sweet little Alice.” I wou
  19. He didn't know why she cried, only that she did. The great vexation of man came when a woman cried. The impulse to fix, to correct. To take away the offending emotions. To make it better. A storm of primal impulse struck him, full-force. It would consume a lesser man. Blow them away. Sweep them up into its current. But hurricanes were natural disasters. They left more harm than good in their wake. Oscar was not fool enough to think that he could take her pain away. He wanted all of her. To devour all of her. Her story, her thoughts. Her laughter, her delight. Her fears and her pain. Greed
  20. "Don't worry, I'm not going to ask you to fool around with any roses today, little Jack." His guard stayed up, but something in the man's tone made Jack believe him, at least for the moment. He lowered his arm that had been covering his mouth and nose, though he maintained distance, every step measured, eyes sharp. "Those two.." Jack's voice was low, controlled. "Alice.. Tybalt.. Are you.. working with them? Or following them? What do you know about her? From him?" Each word carried suspicious, but also urgency. He had to understand the scope of this before it became dangerous.
  21. The man immediately covered his nose and mouth, I tilted my head to the side. “Hmm?” I never did quite catch what little Alice did to the man, just that her whole little schtick was with flowers, roses in particular. Oh. Ohh. I see…It made sense, why he was practically twitching on the floor, smart. Alice was smart. I hadn’t pegged her to be, I thought in all honesty she was a little bit of a dimwit. “Ah!” My grin grew slow, languid. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to ask you to fool around with any roses today, little Jack.” I hadn’t a clue what his actual name was, and I didn’t care. If sw
