Dracul replied to Plot Master's topic in Intermediate Floors
The rhythmic clang of hammer on anvil from the nearby smithy was a grating counterpoint to the new, far more offensive noise assaulting the besieged western gate. My fingers, meticulously layering powdered mending crystal along a stress fracture in a vanguard’s greave, faltered for a split second. A discordant wail, amplified by some infernal crystal, shredded the already oppressive atmosphere of rain and monstrous howls. "By the gods," I muttered, the words dripping with aristocratic disdain. I didn't need to look up to know the source. The garish techno beat and the piercing, artificial - Today

Bliss replied to Plot Master's topic in Intermediate Floors
Bliss left the comfort of her cozy little book nook with a determined heart. She wasn’t built for the frontlines. But she was built to support the people who had helped her rediscover her voice and carve a space for herself in this chaotic, insanely dangerous world. Ciela and Wulfrin had done more for her than they probably realized, and now it was her turn to show up for them. As she stepped outside, she fired off a quick message to Astra, who was already off delivering the sword. She took a breath, gripping her huge wrench tightly. Time to be brave. Floor 29 wasn’t what she expected. -

Baldur replied to Acanthus's topic in Intermediate Floors
The path from the red torii gate to the dock by boat, from the dock to the Coliseum by foot, and down memory lane by heart went quietly. He wasn't sure if he would ever hear from Acanthus again. He liked her. He had hoped they could have spent more time together, and she had seemed enamored with his garden. He had hoped, like many wounded souls before her, they could keep each other company and fend off the darkness together. But she didn't reach back out to him, and he didn't push. Perhaps she felt like he was too broken to be worth the time, but Baldur knew that was fragile perspective. -

Ahri hadn’t performed in a hot minute, and her nerves were very loudly reminding her of that fact. Her heart was jackhammering in her chest, throat tight, palms sweaty despite the cool ocean air of Floor 29. She hated feeling like this. Unsteady. Small. This wasn’t how she did things. She was supposed to be untouchable. Bold. Confident in the way only stars could be and still get love for it. But now, standing on a makeshift stage with the sky cracked open above them and the threat of total annihilation lurking just off the coastline, she felt… human. Too human. God, get it together. She -

KnightinGale replied to Plot Master's topic in Intermediate Floors
KnightinGale was holding the line to the best of her ability, but even she was starting to waver slightly. For now though she was enjoying a moment of rest as the rampaging mobs seemed to take a small break from ravaging her small section of the defenses. For now all seemed quiet. Her small steam had suffered a few casualties during the last push by the shambling cosmic horror rejects this floor called monsters. Potions were being passed around from the few traveling medical players, but even those were scarce. For now though her team held firm and prepared to make way back to their posts just -

Riardon replied to Plot Master's topic in Intermediate Floors
"The Tracker's Alliance is losing ground," Riardon commented as the battle raged along the beach front. "KnightinGale is doing her best to hold the line, but without additional forces would be beneficial. She is still rather fresh off Floor One, but despite how quickly she has progressed, even she still needs back up." Riardon pushed a few pieces around the makeshift map between him and the others focusing on coordinating efforts. There weren't many bodies willing to take up the mantle of defending the beach. This is even when considering the open call to anyone able to raise a sword or t -

Gambit replied to Ariel - The Crowned Lion's topic in Beginner Floors
"Hehe... yeah..." It was hard for him to hide the fact he was positively beaming at the praise, so he just didn't. But they were on the trail, now, and Gambit fell into line quickly. The two of them took the lead and Gambit took the rear, and he took his job as the party's caboose quite seriously. The terrain narrowed into a natural funnel of stone outcroppings and sloped ground. The path beneath them was beaten down through repeated use, and the creature responsible for the well packed earth at their feet laid wounded in the center of the clearing. Gambit immediately noticed some signs -

Mari replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Morningstar," It was good to have a name to the face who helped her earlier. He shifted his gaze over toward Nemo, talking fondly of the NPC. Ah he was one of those people. The kind of bleeding heart folk who treated NPCs no different to people. Mari was pretty sure she felt like that...at the very beginning but something changed long ago. He explained to Mari how the NPC would react, essentially don't fuck with the guys garden. Mari didn't really like NPCs - but it wasn't like she actively sought them out and ripped them apart or anything. And she wouldn't just go stomping around in o -

Battle Maid replied to Plot Master's topic in Intermediate Floors
On the stage to witness the battle, not only before but among them, STY/L was making there comeback. It really did feel nostalgic after so long. Being stuck in this game with a lost passion for music had really gotten Tokki scared that her career might be ruined outside of the game. Her resolve for that idea only fueled as Rin and Ahrianna joined Tokki and Lysette on stage not too soon after she jumped on board. A genuine smile came across her lips for the first time in awhile. Their word was not finished with just appearance and song, though. It required heart and drive to amp up the lis -

Zajcica replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
Now that Yuki had gotten her feet wet once more she was ready to start clearing some of these quests that she'd not gotten to since her hiatus. When Morningstar -- her new guild leader -- sent her a message letting her know that he was looking for some able bodies on a quest she jumped on the offer. She was there practically within minutes but even still so many others had already beaten her there. Either they were that much faster than her, or they were already hanging around. She recognized practically every face here and was confident this stupid not-so-little crustacean was going t -

Katoka replied to Plot Master's topic in The Frontlines
Goosebumps spread over Katoka's body as music pumped its way across the battlefield. She felt a grin spread across her face, yeah this would work as a battle track. Her eyes narrowed as she watched the boss change in front of them. It's form shifting to Mina's, though slightly off. "Didn't anyone teach you that if you're going to change your shape you probably shouldn't do it right in front of everyone?" She rushed in once again, her hair fluttering behind her. After a few steps she vanished, reappearing in front of Belregor as her katana once again struck the knight. The off sounding cla -

Morningstar replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Morningstar," he smiled back. Mari's voice shifted at the word people. Star caught it, but figured that she was just a little awkward and ignored it. "Nemo's friendly. More or less, anyway. He doesn't take kindly to strangers messing with his garden, but if you're quiet about it you can get away with farming mobs and fishing and such." He hadn't seen the caretaker in his dragon form since their first encounter. Even now, it shocked him that the meek man could become so vicious. Even so, Mari looked strong. She carried herself in a way that screamed capable. Nemo wouldn't be much of a pro -
Mari picked up the plain cup of tea. blowing on it she drank. It wasn't anything fancy. Just plain black tea with a splash of milk and sweetened with a touch of sugar. It's simplicity comforted the woman. Yuki would go on to talk about her relationship with Cro, how they weren't always together - but always found a home within each other. It was sweet. It was nice. Mari didn't think she'd ever have something like that - but at least others did. Mari set the cup down and began to trace its rim with her index finger. "Nothin' wrong with that Yuki." Mari said as she watched the steam dance around

The paladin would quickly pour Mari a cup of tea and deliver it to her. It wasn't a special brew or anything. Despite being a gourmet, she tended to enjoy the simple tastes more than the invasive and odd ones many in her craft her attempted. She would set it carefully on the kotatsu in front of Mari and head back to her cooking station where the final touches to the food came along while they continued the chat. "I'm too excitable and headstrong, Cro is a free spirit that I refuse to lock in a cage. We both always end up back to each other once in awhile and those moments are always better whe

[BR-F29] Paving the Way to Floor 30 [Team 3: Jomei]
Lessa replied to Plot Master's topic in The Frontlines
Maybe if Lessa had branched out a bit more, and actually completed the Gemini quest, the sight might not have shocked her so much. But as it stood, she had never actually seen a mirror image of herself, and it was horrifying. "Is that what I look like?" she said aloud, wincing as the boss swaggered closer. "I do not swing my hips that much when I walk. And all those belts look ridiculous." She made a mental note to remove at least some of them after the fight was over. The humor, and the color, drained from her face as Not-Lessa plunged Not-Arcael's Might into Jomei's side. Raw instinct -
