  1. Past hour
  2. Where there had been a small amount of colour previously, Nari suddenly felt her face alight in flame and burning embarrassment – a beacon that would have shown bright in the darkened sky, if not for the fact that it was clearly just passed the half day mark. She stumbled over words for a few moments, trying to collect herself, before she managed to get out anything that could be considered a form of sentence. ’I don’t…know what you mean. What glances? What? Who was glancing? Where?’ Onora laughed at the flustered form of Nari, a tingling melody that was somehow calming to her nerves as s
  3. Seconds went by as Nari and Onora took some time to wrinkle out their bodies after the fight, pulling knots that had developed and smoothing away the majority of the after affects that always crept up upon them. Nari’s eyes couldn’t help but shift towards her partner as she considered everything she’d been thinking about the last few moments, and she was sure she was caught at numerous points – not that Onora said anything, at the time. ’So…a bit more, and then we head back?’ Onora asked. Nari gave a soft nod as she retrieved fishing rod and hook, settling herself back into a seated posit
  4. ’Well, that was…something…were those hands?’ Onora had let her sword drop slightly to the side as the final creature erupted – not quite an unprepared stance, but one that showed the calm, relaxed state of a post battle fighter. Nari had let her own guard drop ever so slightly as well, taking the calm moment as a measure of time to recover and relax – and a time to release the tightened muscles that had begun to strain in her entire body. ’I’ve…no idea. Weird things, to say the least…’ Her eyes dropped down to the notification that appeared besiede her, and she found herself grinning as s
  5. Nari chose to ignore the embarrassing moment, uncertain if there was even anything to be embarrassed about to begin with. They were still engaged with the hand creature – which was trying its best to escape, without any success. Nari shifted herself to its side, waiting for it to try and make another break for the riverbed, before jamming the spear forward and stabbing into the thing’s core, the flames erupting and burning across its body even before it slapped her back. The impact rattled her armour, causing little more than a minor vibration that could be considered annoying at best. S
  6. The spear went wide, and Onora found herself falling back as the hand seemed to make a rush for the distance. Nari and Onora both launched themselves into the hand’s pathway, blocking it from escaping back into the riverbed that it had originally exploded from earlier, and ensuring that it was forced to remain on land just a little bit longer – and more importantly, forced to face them both for just a single minute more beyond what it desired. ’Nice! Don’t let it escape, I think we’ve almost got it!’ Nari blurted out the obvious, knowing full well that none of it needed to be said, and ye
  7. Today
  8. Flame covered spear lashed forward from Nari’s defensive stance, slashing through the first of the hand like creatures and lighting it aflame. Not that it lasted much longer than the few seconds it took for the flames to erupt and overtake the rest of the thing’s form; the explosion of shards upon the air denoting its finality in the world – and the small measure of freedom that the pair obtained from its departure. ’Last one.’ Onora’s words were a mere breath upon the wind, and yet Nari could understand them perfectly – a mimicry of her own thoughts in the moment. They had completed half
  9. Reytac followed the gesture, to where a man was laughing and flirting with several women. He hummed under his breath as he watched the group for a long minute, then shrugged slightly. At least they were better than the person he saw over to one side who seemed to be scrambling to grab something off of the floor, though the crush of dancers masked what was happening over there before he could really see what was going on. He set his glass down on the bar with a clink and idly started tracing the rim with a finger as his gaze roamed across the floor. People were, happy, here. Sure, there m
  10. Through hell or high water, he was gonna make it. Least, that's what he thought. Bag upon bags, he was going to make it to the Church to the north and finally make his decision if adopting a child would be his way. Too bad his penguin was sick due to heavy muscle fatigue or did that exist? He wasn't going to find out either way if he dawdled too long. Most adventurers side glanced him wondering what he was doing with so many bags. Some even thought to help but decided not to. He had to deliver the party to the Church since he had promised them one if they completed a challenge. Imagine the sur
  11. Something about this didn't feel right. A hand outstretched towards her, rather than the ginger Lancaster was associated with; his wife. His wife he spoke so dearly of him in his absence. His wife who lured him here so she could share a dance with her beloved. His wife who was currently drunk off her ass, stumbling her way into a chair. She'll be fine, Jevi thought to herself. Just a night of innocent fun. "I will try not to bite.." "I can't say that I won't" But would she? Jevi had no experience in this, no real experience in flirting. She just did what felt right
  12. The redhead let out a small laugh at his comment about furry accouterments. Compared to the last time they met, they both looked completely different. However, even after this meeting, neither has yet seen what they genuinely look like beyond the masks or costumes. Listening to what Rey said, Az nodded her head, "Neither is this mine, but getting tricked into being here and feeling guilty to leave the one person who brought you here alone kind of forces me to stay here." Az turned to take a small sip from her wine again. Honestly, this was odd. Usually, she would be in these kinds of plac
  13. The two women moved in fluid tandem, wrapping around one another as the hands launched an attack of their own. Nari would call it excellent teamwork, a connection of the soul and mind, or something along those lines – if she were more aware of the sentimental ideologies of the situation. Instead, she simply knew it was a matter of the two having worked in the field together for so long. They’d come to know one another, and that meant reacting without communication or thought – Nari knew Onora’s typical strike patterns, as well as Onora knew Nari’s own style of fighting. A combination that allo
  14. Frost walked towards the building; it was, by all means, not a small one, and the dress code was clear. Frostmaw, or Nadia, in this case, has been to these kinds of places before. You dance with people and are none the wiser about whom you might be talking to. Yet despite all this, Frost was ready. Her green dress revealed her shoulders, and around her arms she held a quite fancy and relatively soft fur scarf, almost like the one she always wore with her own armour. She made sure she was dressed to impress for this evening. Once she got closer to the door, a man offered her a mask, and Frost s
  15. Whatever thoughts Nari may have wanted to focus upon, they were torn away as the pair of hand creatures erupted from the water with the yank of her fishing rod. She barely had time to flow into motion, the spear and shield appearing in her hands as she called them to existence, before she was rushing in front of Onora and placing herself into a defensive stance. The sound of the blonde’s rapier slashing the air caused her eyes to break from the creatures for a single second. She almost called out to deny Onora’s engagement in the fight, before realising the blonde’s assistance might make
  16. Reytac was still cursing under his breath, doing his best to wipe away the wine that had been splashed on him when he heard someone walk up beside him and speak to the bartender. At first he didn’t process when the person beside him spoke to him, until a slight nudge made him turn his head towards the woman that was beside him with a smile on her face beneath her mask. And the mention of never being too old for candy – he let out a small laugh as he took the offered napkin, and got it a little damp with condensation from a glass on the bar to help it soak more of the wine out of his coat.

  24. ”We aren’t going to be able to stay forever, you know?” Onora glanced over towards Nari with a knowing look, as if to suggest that they should consider leaving for home shortly – the same look Nari assumed a mother would give to a child, though she had to admit their relationship didn’t feel like a parent overseeing child type. It was something else, something more intimate. Perhaps a spouse scalding another for taking too long- Nari felt her face flush in direct response to the thought. She couldn’t imagine calling someone a spouse without some prior determination by the pair – or group,
  25. Reytac ducked under one of the outstretched ‘stalks’ of one of the mushrooms, and looked over his shoulder to the silver-plated woman who was walking behind him. ”And you're sure we can just, find these dungeons on nearly any floor?” He got an affirmative, and gave a shrug. Acanthus had convinced him that delving into a dungeon or two would be one of the next steps that he should take in trying to prepare for the front lines – apparently there was equipment, consumable items, that were nearly exclusive to the dungeons scattered throughout the floors. They were currently traipsing through the t
