[PP-PT-F01] The Cool Off Period | <<The First Lessons>>
Astra replied to Wulfrin's topic in Beginner Floors
Recently Astra's life had been a bit hectic, considering that he'd been undergoing intense training to level up and acquire skills, participated in raid-wide events on Floor 29, and continuously found new ways to acquire scrapes and bruises. All that to say, a day of rest never hurt. The real problem Astra faced was how he would occupy his day of rest, which was something he often struggled with when he wasn't in motion. Perhaps it was ADHD, perhaps he felt as though he couldn't ever really rest, but besides eating a metric ton of food and doing some reading, he had nothing. That was, until, a - Today

'Deep breaths,' that was how she convinced herself to get through town. Avoid eye contact, keep out of the way, and under no circumstances do anything to draw attention to yourself. Her thoughts rampaged one after another. Vanta was a new player with no advantage aside from irl skill. Not that it would prove useful, but she felt she had to weigh it in as a possible aid just to feel better about the doomnof her situation. She wandered the town of beginnings, mentally mapping the most efficient routes, shops that cost less coin, how many NPCs resided on the floor, and above all, how many players -

Calm and quiet wasn't usually a term provided to any form of online gaming centre, and yet here Aoi had to admit that a measure of the two seemed to lay over the fields before her. She could see the various outlines and figures of other players and creatures moving about - some in contention with one another, some simply enjoying the weather and the peace that could be found among the large grasses. Aoi had paused to glance about and take it all in, considering her own position among the various bodies in the distance, before deciding there wasn't much worth considering about it at all.

<<Quest Details>> Fresh off the recent raid on Floor 29, Wulfrin was in desperate need of a relaxing fishing trip. Early in the morning, Wulfrin set off from his home on Floor 22 down to his humble beginings on Floor 1. As he stepped off the teleport gate, he took in a deep breath, absorbing the fresh air. Aincrad's floor variety was something that still amazed him even after all this time. One moment you could be fighting for your life against eldritch horrors and the next you could be strolling the streets of the largest settlement in the game. He wore no armor as he had opt

"She isn't a problem at all - I have, well, had, six, at home." Reytac closed his eyes for a moment as he thought about the small horde. He really, really hoped that they were alright. That she was alright. He clenched his eyes shut for a moment before shaking his head, pushing those thoughts away. "No, she isn't a problem at all. If anything, I'd be trying to feed her some treats or something, and not my place since I don't know if you have her on a diet or anything." He stretched his arms out, popping his shoulders before he picked up one of the skewers and started munching on it idly. He ma

Her nod in confirmation with be accompanied with a smile. It was second nature for her to smile in conversation. "Nice to meet you Rey." Noticing that the light of her screen had shocked Rey, she got worried immediately and peered around it. "Sorry! I keep it king of large because I have a tough time reading it otherwise!" Now she was trying harder to find the party invite. Once she sent it over to him, she quickly swiped the menu away to get it out of his way. Rey would indulge in the barkeep's offer and order something to eat. A skewer and some veggies, not a bad idea. She would ha -
The house was quiet around them, warm in its white and soft purple tones, only the faint creak of the old wood beneath their chairs breaking the silence between their voices. Hidden couldn’t help but catch the laugh that escaped Mari when Raidou came up, though she hadn’t expected her to have to stifle it behind her hand. The sight tugged something loose inside her, but she let it slip by without comment. Her fingers idly traced the rim of her teacup, nearly drained now, while she sat back and let Mari talk, giving her space to get the words out. A smile touched Hidden’s lips when Mari admitte

Jomei nodded solemnly, "I was there when it happened. Tried to stop her but I wasn't fast enough. I wish she hadn't roped Oikawa into it, he was- is a good man." He could hear the pain behind Mari's tiny voice. Offering a tight lipped smile, he decided not to pry and rip open any lingering wounds. The victim of Oikawa's attack, Zelrius, seemed to have much more history with Mari than Jomei had realized. Though, there were most likely no fond memories from the way Mari spoke about him. Though hearing how he had acted in the past didn't surprise him, but only left a sour taste in his mouth

"Likewise, you can call me Rey, Reytac, or Reynold." Tension melted away from Reytac's shoulders as the young lady - Firefly, or Sam, he'd have to make sure to actually use her name in his head not just 'lady' - almost immediately agreed. He looked down at the small cat that was meowing from her other side, sounding quite upset and grumpy, and a small smile spread his lips. "There's no hurry on the party invite. I haven't even had a chance to look for it myself yet, honestly." Despite being in Jacob's Ladder, he hadn't even met any of the members other than Mari, and he had not been in a

Jomei apologized. Like so many before, he apologized for his prejudice, but - truth be told Mari didn't need the apology. She had killed, a total of 10 names were written upon the rule, all by her hand. Some by accident - by request, and others were simply bad hands dealt to her. But there could have been ways to avoid those names staining that monument. There could have been other answers and solutions. It would do the woman no good to think of what-ifs - but her remorse did not make her a good nor just person. "You don't need to apologize. I mean, my name is on that wall. Many times. If

"Who only see black and white - Olive eyes shifted from Mari's for a moment. There was a time when he felt the same way.. he still felt that tug to an extent. The orange marker that hovered above Mari, and many others, meant they had done.. something. Committed some sort of crime, stole something, hurt someone. Though Jomei knew enough that anyone he experienced with that same crystal had carried out a murder - Mari included. Realization of why his offer sounded so outlandish set in, but he quickly dismissed it. He said it earlier himself, his friends trusted Mari.. so he could as w

As she waited for her food, Firefly took a moment to check on her little Chartreux cat who had hopped up into the vacant seat next to her. It mewed quietly to her, expressing it's annoyance with the loudness of the tavern. In return she would give the cat a soft pet on the head. "I know it's loud in here, we might be sticking around awhile though. It can't be worse than the sandstorm we endured though!" She did her best to keep the cat's spirits up. It thought about it for a moment, then gave her a comforting purr as it's acceptance. That's when a man would enter her field of vision, putt -
The rich aroma of brewing coffee was rejuvenating. Jomei felt himself leaning more into the bar, as if trying to get closer to the source of the smell. He was no coffee snob by any means, his own order was usually pretty simple - sweet, but not enough to outshine its natural flavor. The smell, however, even non-coffee drinkers would agree that there was something intoxicating and calming about it. "Can't blame you, honestly." Jomei admitted as Oscar placed the mug of brew in front of him. He would gently wave a hand over the top of the cup, the steam rising and warming his palm as he tes
