  1. Hirru could remember the first time that he had met anyone in this game.  He had ventured out into the fields outside the Town of Beginnings to finally start finding his memories of the outside world.  He knew they were out there, but that didn't mean that he would understand this world as a game.  No, it was just as if he had actually lived in it proper.  All the functionality of using a sword seemed like he was learning first hand.  While facing the boars of the first floor, he nearly died, if not for the efforts of a player.  His name was Ignalo, and he helped the young Hirru learn how to fight proper.  This was several weeks before the sword arts were found, and fighting was much more capable.  Hirru could hunt for days on end, and never get enough out of it.  In that regard, he was a monster hunter.

  2. Getting distracted from his thoughts and getting aggravated from the constant loss of time due to this fishing venture, the hunter was about to call this a lost cause.  There was no reason to really go through with this fishing venture, as there were easier methods for him to gain the fabled Gleaming Scale than just fishing.  Reports are coming in that high end mobs and chests are starting to drop them now.  There really wasn't any good reason for him to still be here.

However, here he was, setting another worm on the hook before flinging it into the water and letting the bobber settle.  The ripples flowed along the water's edge before bouncing back from the shore, colliding with other waves before the water was once again settling down from the energy usage required for the ripples to constantly move around.  To think, this water still didn't seem like water.

  3. From the beginning of the Knights of the Blood Oath, or at least when Hirru started, Macradon was always there.  He was much stronger than the hunter was, and was already helping Mack, their Vanguard Leader, and Opal, their Vice Commander, to face through each floor boss from the 12th floor, all the way to the twenty third.  Although, the faces of the Vice Commanders would change and the members would leave, Macradon would always be there for Hirru.

"If only I didn't muck things up.."

"What was that?  I didn't hear you, were you talking to me?"

"No, Nemo!  Sorry, I was just thinking to myself aloud.  Fishing isn't exactly the most engaging profession there is."

He said while pulling his line back to make sure that the worm was still there.  It seemed that the little buggers had nibbled away while he was off in his own world.

  4. He wondered if there were some people that could really forgive him for what he had done.  Saving Durares had earned him some ill content from some unsavory folk, especially a certain silver haired demon of a girl, Hidden.  He hadn't met her personally, and he frankly didn't want to meet her ever again.  However, she was a capable attacker on the front lines, so her involvement would be unavoidable.

Morgenstern was another he would have to look into.  The man was already pressed for issues with the deaths of many of his comrades, and then the hunter would spit on their sacrifices by saving a floor boss.  There would be quite a bit of atonement that he would have to do for that.

Then there would be Macradon.  The hunter didn't know what to do for him.  Mac was his fellow guildmate, and friend.  They had gone through the death and disappearance of so many guild members.

  5. The hunter began to think about his current situation, including all of the things that had happened before the 'Great Darkness', as it was.  After the twenty third boss raid, and the revealing of his mental issues, Hirru had found himself in a deep dark place, and that was before the darkness swallowed everyone and reset the world.  Though, that could be part of the issue too.  Ever since the reset, Hirru had to go out and make his own way once more.  Meeting his old friends and confronting a truth that he knew would hurt, his memory loss would have to come out into the open if he was ever to join the front once more.  It would be difficult, and he would probably lose the trust of more people as he would be seen as insane, but it had to be done.

There was no way out of this now.

  6. His eyes began to wander here and there, looking upon the quiet grove with a sense of awe.  It was quite breathtaking how peaceful the grounds really were.  The little bubble dragons that seemed to foam and froth up the water around them seemed to have fun with their little play.  Though, their little playtime would probably be stirring up the fish, and making them all swim away for safer waters.  The hunter would sigh as he readjusted himself for the long haul.  He couldn't harm any more of these creatures, as he didn't want to bring out the 'guardian of the grove', as it were.  Hirru just watched the bobber go up and down.  Up and down.  Up and down...

"Why do I pick the boring professions?  Everyone is getting better work than I am.."

He groaned aloud while sitting on the bank of the pond, hoping something would happen soon.

  7. "How would you go about doing that?  It doesn't seem like you would just let them go, now."

"I wouldn't say that I'm going to kill them, but I'll see about gaining some scales from each one that I catch.  That should be quite a bit better of a deal than slaying each and every fish I get."

The bobber was still as he said this.  Not even a nibble could be felt and no more could be guessed if there were even any fish there to begin with.

"Do they normally shy away from food given so easily?"

"Did you put any bait onto your hook?"

The hunter sort of squinted at the gardener before second guessing himself and pulling the hook back, just as something seemed to pass by it.  Looking at the hook, he had certainly placed a worm on it.  He sighed as he threw the hook back.

  8. Returning back to his previous position, the hunter cast out his line.  The bobber swayed in the water as the ripples pulled and pushed upon the pond's edge.  This was the time to relax and let the fish come to him now.  He really didn't have to wonder if they would be there, or if there would be anything looking at the hook.  He just had to wait for the tug and that was it.  Of course, that didn't mean that it would be utterly boring after some point in time.

    "Nemo!"

"Oh, yes.  Is there something you want from me?"

"Yes, what is this guardian like?  Do I really need to worry about it, if I'm just fishing here."

"I'm sure that it doesn't like that you would be trying to catch the rare breeds of fish that would stay here."

"Oh yeah, that's right.  Remind me not to kill any of them then."

  9. Getting his sword out, the hunter did a quick two strike sweeping sword art that seemed to be enough to rip the golden glove in half.  It must have been incredibly rare in loot, as it spilled out quite a bit of col, materials and a weapon.  While the hunter was going over the sudden creature that came out, he lamented that he still couldn't find a place to fish without fighting something.  It must be the curse of a fisher, it seemed.  Gatherers didn't really have to deal with that, they could do whatever they wanted.  Though, the hunter did want a challenge.  Soon after closing out the window, Nemo came running over.

    "What happened?"

"Oh, some glove popped out of the water and tried attacking me.  I had to retaliate."

"Oh.. okay.  Please be careful.  I don't want the guardian of Gaia trying to kill us both because you started to kill the creatures here."

  10. Passing through the mountains, into a little cave system that Nemo seemed to know quite well by now, they emerged into light once more.  Shielding his eyes, the hunter could not believe his sight when his eyes seemed to adjust.  A secret grove full of exotic flora and the occasional fauna.  Large insects seemed to try and camouflage into the greenery around them and tiny dragons could be seen frocking among tiny bubbles that they made.  What peaked the hunter's interest was the large pond in the middle of it all.

"What would the guardian say to me fishing for scales?"

"Scales?  Not the fish themselves?  I would prefer that you not harm anything here.  The guardian doesn't do well with the harm done to the groves occupants."

"I'll try not to harm anything."

Hirru sat down for a second and pulled out a fishing rod that he got from his fishing quest.  Casting out, the bobber was almost immediately caught, but not by a fish.  This was a little golden glove that seemed to not like that Hirru caught it.

"Oh no!  It isn't really a monster per se, but a great power that protects Little Eden from any trespassers that come around it.  I have seen them for myself, and they were quite nice to me.  I didn't seem to have a possessive soul, or want to harm anything.  All I wanted to do was to help things grow.  I feel that there could be someone out there that looks at the world in a similar gaze than I do."

"So that is why you lead people to this special place of yours, so that you can share in the experience with them."

Nemo chews on the thought before nodding a bit.

"That would seem about right.  Though, I do wish to help them grow more on the outside, but I'm sure their offspring would not survive."

He looked like he was back into his depressive state.  Hirru gave a quick response.

    "Adventurers?"

    "Yes, adventurers."

The hunter didn't understand the statement.  Did someone find out about the grove and destroy it?  That sounds like it would be too cruel to be true, but he has seen how viciously players will attack one another for good gear and loot drops.  If there was an area that had rare finds, then it would be natural to assume that people would be clamoring for it.  It was really weird then, that this NPC was going to take him straight to the ancient grove.  There must have been some kind of catch.

"I'm guessing someone or something cause some trouble, if you're looking towards adventurers in a darker light."

Nemo chucked slightly and waved him off.  They were getting closer to a mountain side as they talked.

"Oh no, it's not so much that.  I prefer the company, but they always try to take things from Little Eden.  It always upsets the guardian there."

"The guardian?  A monster or something?"

  13. Upon figuring that out, the gardener named Nemo started to walk along a little path into the woods.  He gestured for the hunter to follow him as he rounded group of trees.  Hirru didn't have much else to do, and this man was the one that apparently knew where this Little Eden was, so he followed nearby.  They seemed to be walking quite a bit, and the woods were growing thicker and thicker as they went along.

"So, what is this Little Eden?  I've heard that it is quite the paradise for things big and small."

Nemo smiled to Hirru and began to explain.

"It is a secret grove that houses some of the most exquisite and rarest fauna and flora around, protected by the very goddess of the earth.  You don't find these things anywhere else, and their existence is kept hidden."

He then looked a little sad.  As if he was mourning the lose of a loved one.

"Though, I should say that they were a secret, until adventurers like you found out."

  14. Approaching the young man, he would turn around with his little sunhat upon him.  He seemed to greet the hunter warmly, as if he was quite the kind soul.

"Oh, hello!  Are you here to visit my garden?"

"Not particularly, but I'm here for something that I'm sure you know about.  Are you Nemo?"

The man seemed to be slightly saddened by the news that Hirru was not there for floral tips and gardening.  He set his tools into a his apron, which seemed to house quite a few different things within.  Nemo wiped the sweat from his brow before continuing.

"I am Nemo?  Did you need something from me?"

"Yes, I'm told you know of a sanctuary away from here."

The gardener seemed to be understanding the effort that the hunter was trying to lead towards.  He smiled a little before looking towards the hunter, whom was geared from head to foot like someone that could break a little twig like him.

"You must be here for my Little Eden."

  15. What Do You Call Paradise?
    <<Nature's Treasure: Little Eden>>

There have been many areas that one could call paradise, but the twenty second floor seemed to be a haven for all.  It was one of the most peaceful with creatures that didn't seem to become very hostile to players.  Well, except for the fish, those things can **** off.  However, the hunter had gained the fishing profession, and had not touched it since.  He had heard that there was a place that even the field boss and King of the Lake couldn't reach.  The only prerequisite was that a specific guardian had to be defeated.  Which one that would be would be seen, apparently, as Hirru searched for the one called Nemo, an NPC that knew about the special place.

It would take a bit of investigative work, but the hunter finally found the NPC happily watering a little garden near the grand lake.  A small little garden was placed here, with a small pond.  This couldn't have been the place he had heard about, could it?

    Quest Rewards:

    • Any materials and loot that you find/gather.

    Requirements:

    • Speak with Nemo about a special dungeon near the edge of the floor.
    • Roleplay travelling to Little Eden (minimum of four posts) with Nemo.
    • Optional: Defeat rare monsters for loot.
    • Optional: Go fishing in the river for treasure.
    • Optional: Search for chests.
    • Optional: Search for materials throughout the garden.
    • Defeat  <<Nemo, Wind of Gaia>> (only available for the first time clearing this quest).

    Summary:

A rumor has begun to spread far and wide across Aincrad. Players and NPCs alike speak of a special dungeon that offers great wealth and riches for those that can defeat its guardian. Players speak of a lonely NPC that cares for the garden held within its depths, and guides anyone who requests to enter it. However, NPCs warn of a powerful monster that lurks within, attacking players who dare to “steal” from the garden, leaving them gravely injured, or simply killing them outright. You search out the NPC, seeking to enter the garden, and gather materials and loot. Eventually, you come across the NPC introducing himself as Nemo. He guides you to Little Eden, showing the way to the garden within the depths of the dungeon.

As you begin to gather materials, loot chests, fish in the river, and defeat monsters, you notice that Nemo seems to be growing more and more agitated with your  actions. When you make ready to leave, Nemo forcibly stops you, demanding that you return what you have taken. Your eyes focus on his name and health bar, and, much to your horror, you see that somehow his health pool has grown significantly larger, and his name has changed. It seems that the boss was really Nemo in disguise.

After defeating Nemo, he concedes to your strength, and gifts you a special crystal that activates a warp panel at the center of the garden, allowing you to leave the Garden.

    Outline:

After accepting the quest, you travel alongside Nemo to Little Eden, and make your way into the depths of Little Eden, reaching the garden at its very core. You have the option of fighting rare mobs, each of them offering their own challenges and granting increased rewards upon their defeat. <<Gilded hands>>, which are rare mobs not spawned by usual means, grant a bonus 1000*Tier col and 3*Tier Materials upon their defeat.

Upon trying to leave the dungeon, you will be unable to find the way that you came in, and will have your way blocked by Nemo, who transforms into the dungeon boss.

The following bonuses are applied when performing the following actions in Little Eden:

    • Gathering | LD rolls of 11-14 give 1 material.  LD rolls of 15+ give 2 materials. For players with the Gatherer Profession, this works alongside their profession's material-gathering chart. CD thresholds are also reduced by 1.
    • Fishing | A natural CD roll of 1 fishes up a <<Gilded Hand>> mob. For players with the Fishing Profession, CD thresholds for the Fishing Skill are reduced by 1.
    • Treasure Chests | A natural LD of 1-3 results in two <<Gilded Hand>> mobs.
    • Looting Mobs | Mobs that satisfy the loot minimum always drop (HP * 4) col and 1 Material as default drops, before other upgrades and aspects of the loot table are taken into account.

However, he does not seem to remember fighting the player, and will react in a confused manner if questioned about it, brushing aside any questions of the sort. Gets upset with the player if they kill mobs while he is nearby, expressing pain at their actions towards the creatures of the garden.

  16. Yet another display of the sheer power that Freyd sent out as an entire health bar was nearly decimated before his eyes.  Whatever strength that the man had, the hunter wondered if an entire six man squad with equivalent power couldn't do the same with a labyrinth guardian, or floor boss.  If they could look into it, their ascent up the castle Aincrad would be that much more faster.  They could relive the golden months again, where seven floors were found and their bosses destroyed.  They could possibly begin a new golden age.  The thought tickled a certain nerve in the hunter, as if his old tactician ways were starting to creep up once more.

That thought was disturbed by the sound of Freyd's heavy breathing, and an even louder roar coming from the large indentation in the wall.  The skin of Ugzeke had turned red, along with its eyes.  It started pulling itself out of its hole in the wall, and looked like it was going to start smashing everything around.  Hirru took this moment to use any rubble around to reach a bit higher before processing to perform his standard AOE double swing attack, but this time, he would force it downward, starting from the trolls thigh and allowing gravity to rip the entire leg apart in those two swings.  This would allow the <<Shatter>> ability to work its magic a little better, and give Freyd a last hit on the field boss.  Though, with their Venom still within the troll's body, they may take it out before hand.

    "Feel that?  Venom's a bitch, ain't it."

  17. The hunter would follow the whisper's suggestion as it seemed to be a fairly powerful maneuver.  He could say so from personal experience from boss battles and being on the wrong end of a stun / paralysis combo.  He still hated bugs for that one reason.  Even still, it was something that was quite practical, and Hirru could actually see the brilliance that Shelob's Fang could become.  Was Shelob a bug?  he thought, as worked his way to the other ankle.  Thinking 'stun', the hunter flew into a five slash art that formed a star around the target's wound.  The big oaf didn't really seem to notice that it had not taken a single step since the two of them had started hitting Ugzeke.

"May have to start shattering it's hide soon, I'll prep that.  You keep slamming it!"

Hirru called out to Freyd.  Seeing as the Whisper never seemed to miss, Hirru could assume he could constantly hit without worry of messing up.  Hirru, on the other hand, didn't have such a luxury.  The added accuracy was grand, but a single miss step could break their combination.

  18. Hirru had been to many different floors, with many different things going on in each of them.  Players that ranged from calm peaceful creatures, to murderous psychopaths that want nothing more than the demise of everyone in Aincrad.  Floor bosses ranging from humanoids to colossal titan.  There were some things that he had not seen yet, and would love to see it all.  Hirru had seen some shit, but this seemed to top it all off.

"Well, if Persi and yourself are good, I'm sure that we're good enough for whatever is next.  Let's head back down and find this field boss."

Freyd had taken some damage from that fight, but Hirru was watching his health and energy levels.  Freyd should be upon the fourth tier, and the small health bar boost must mean he had Battle healing.  He should be fine, especially with the damage output he has been pulling out.  The hunter, on the other hand, couldn't even kill two elite mobs which caused said damage.  He looked upon the blade that he got from a friend, the blade oozed its venom, as if calling for a new target.

Soon after passing through Kalanaes again, they would find themselves in the Underdark, which brought its darkness disability with it.  The hunter sighed.

"Never get used to this.. Don't have enough SP on Night Vision and Tracking to sort this out.."

As time passed, they would lie in wait before the rumbling of the large oaf came lumbering through their cavern.  Without skipping a beat, the hunter would make the first move, this time.  Something came over the hunter from seeing Freyd using the big hitting attacks, that the hunter tried to replicate it.  The single sweep of Galaxy Destroyer would work, but Hirru would do something more.  Charging in, he used the thrusting power of the combat skill to close the distance and thrust the blade into the giant's foot before slamming his foot hard into the ground, reactivating the old art and using the art while the blade was still inside his opponent.  The system did the rest, as the sword ripped through the Achilles tendon of the giant, bringing it down.  Finally, a good use of the paralysis and envenom combo.

    "Freyd!  Slap him down!"

  19. The hunter watched as Freyd ripped into yet another one of the spirits, really using his strength to his advantage.  There was one left, and it was already dying.  The only thing left to do was to do a small cut upon it and it would die.  Though, it definitely had mitigation with that armor, so a single sword hit wouldn't work.  He had to think of something that would be light, but strong enough to break past that armor.  He thought of the shatter art again, but stopped once his sword started to glow.  The shatter art was quite exhausting to use.  There must have been some other one that he could use, but nothing really came to mind.  If only he could use some of his old martial arts skills, but he had long since removed that skill's points.

Just then, as if on cue from the thought of it, the hunter's sword and feet began to glow.  Shooting towards the last spirit, the hunter planted his sword into the ground and used it as a pivot to spin around and smash the spirit with a supported tornado roundhouse kick.

When the spirit finally faded to nothing, the hunter looked back at his compatriot.

"It's re-dead now.  Let's deal with the boss, and tend to our wounds and energy."

  20. "When I left, KoB was barely even a guild anymore.  I don't know if my compatriots has grown the guild any, but I don't wish to dwell on it any more."

He lowered his gaze.  Some Vice Commander he was.  Couldn't even grow a dying guild back to glory.  He wished that Mack would have come back to them; bringing that charisma that a boisterous man could only do.  Instead.. Azide, Opal, Lowenthal, Mack, and himself.  All have either died, gone crazy, or disappeared.  He could be considered the 'crazy' variant.

Aside from the sudden friend request, the hunter would question what 'Janitor' meant, but it seemed to be ill to question it.  The hunter just smiled and nodded.

"I'm glad too.  Not many newer faces step out and even fewer putting in the effort to reach higher.  Though, you have perfected that reach to shot higher than most at the top, it seems.  I would like to know more of your story too, but that time can wait."

Pressing the big O button, the Jade Hunter befriended the Whisper.  He grinned while drawing his blade.  Soon after Freyd had dealt with the first four, another two came out of the stonework; these ghouls seeming to be much better equipped to handle a hit or two.

"Well, we better keep up the pressure.  I can't recreate your damage, but I can push as much as possible."

He said while swinging around Freyd and swinging several wide arcs towards the guardians.

  21. Hirru had to think on the matter, but it was only to collect his scattering thoughts.  He started to pace a bit through the broken room before looking to Baldur.

"I don't like to admit it, but I think the game set this up.  Trying to taunt us with the events of this floors boss fight."

The hunter shook his head.  It was too much of a coincidence to be anything but that.

"You said you got the map for this from the last hit on Eva.. the council.  It could be that it was originally going to lead into a event, or what not."

Hirru looked out into the hallway that the Antiroyalist came in from.  He signaled for Baldur to follow.  Down the hallway, they found a door that lead to a rather large office area.  This was probably that dark Elf Antiroyalists domain, if they hadn't kept it waiting.

"Let's search around.  See if we can't find anything, loot or otherwise.

He said while equipping his Favor of the Golden Dragon for better luck.

Swap Bulwark -107 mit -> Favor +3 LD

  22. Hirru took the information as it was while equipping his armor, Bulwark.  The boost to his mitigation was something he always loved to see.  Be it while solo, partied up, or in a guild; the hunter felt that he would survive more with his half-plate.  Taking a moment to readjust the armor to himself, he was taken aback by the sudden request for his own backstory.

"I wouldn't know about me being apart of Aincrad's history, but I've been venturing for several months now, or has it been a year already?"

The hunter shrugged before continuing on.

"Was mostly alone for a lot of it, but I was apart of a guild or two which helped bring me to the front lines.  Ever heard of the Knights of the Blood Oath?  Don't worry if it never came up, we were dying out anyway.

He gave a small chuckle, but it would pain him to do so.  So many deaths and disappearances, especially anyone that had the unfortunate title 'Vice Commander'.

"I cultivated my scouting proficiencies and skills to help find the floor bosses on a couple floors, while keeping my blade sharp to help in the raids.  I've been helping in raids from the eighteenth floor, to the twenty-third, even accidently led my first ever raid."

He would go into detail, but Hirru didn't want to waste the mans time any more than he probably had.  He sighed as looked around at his surroundings.

"I decided to take a break, after some issues came up between front liners that I may have personally caused.  I'm just a wandering hunter once more, now."

  23. "Thanks, I don't get compliments over my skills anymore.  Not that they have been tested as often as they used to.  People don't need a hunter for hire."

Hirru took the time to take out a meal that he bought not too long before this last quest, while taking the other two that Freyd had offered.  It had been awhile since the hunter had been fully buffed, but it would definitely be needed if Freyd thought this Ugzeke would be a huge pain to deal with.  Taking a bite of the yaki hatahata and the smores, he could swear that they tasted blander than they looked.  At least the liquor had some flavor to it, if only it could get him drunk.

"What all do I need to be cautious about with this Ugzeke?  I haven't collected any information about the new field bosses yet, other than that they exist."

Taking another bite out, he would find that it was getting tougher to eat.  It wouldn't matter long as the buffs would take effect.  He still didn't have his armor, but that wouldn't matter much until they got to the dungeon's main boss and Ugzeke, the field boss of floor twenty three, anyway.

"If you're providing, I'll only take a damage Potion, if you have any to spare.  I have my own MIT food, but I didn't think I needed it until now.  With A third tier dungeon, I'm positive our damage is enough, as is.  Though, I don'tknow anything about this Ugzeke, so I'll take my precautions. "

The hunter said as they walked towards the teleportation gate.  Standing upon the blue dais, the hunter spoke.

    "Kalanaes!"

Upon reaching the capital of the dark elves, the hunter adjusted his headband revealing the small silver crescent emblem that was pinned upon it.  The elves that saw it varied in response, but most were keen to leave him alone without issue.  They did not want to feel the wrath of someone chosen by their queen.

"I know a place from a while back that should still be active.  Come on!"

Reaching the outskirts of the capital, taking the passage up to the surface, the hunter would pause for a moment at some ruins.  His search pings were showing that the ruin was false with something underneath.  Hirru pushed upon the ruin to collapse it..

  25. "I was considering either the twenty third or the twenty fourth.  Though, I haven't been to the twenty fifth, or twenty sixth yet.  Was thinking of finding both a dungeon and a field boss, but I would take your advice, if you suggest against any of those.  Didn't want you coming here without profiting somehow, though."

The hunter replied as they seemed to be blazing through the safe trails of the desert to reach Fortaleza.  It didn't really seem like it took a couple hours at most to full go through the whole ordeal.  It probably would have been worth more later, as they passed the entrance to the sprawling city.  Cassim would have cast his cowl down to cover his face as they passed by the guards.  Another reason to not trust these brothers anymore than he did.  Finally reaching the bar, Cassim would be forced through the door.

    "Al'akh al'akbar!"

    "Ali~"

It would seem like the brothers were about to reunite over a brotherly hug, but a quick grapple of the arm, and Cassim was down on the floor.  Ali had grabbed him by the arm and flung him down to the ground.  It seemed that the two of them were having a little family moment as it seemed they were whispering to each other.  Soon, Ali was back up to greet the two, though his gaze at Freyd seemed a bit more on the contemptable side.

"Thank you for bringing my shaqiq back.  I will assure you that he doesn't get into any more.."

He looked back to his brother before looking to the both of them, while pulling out a rolled parchment from under his sleeves.

"..problems.  Here is your reward, as promised."

As Hirru grabbed the parchment, the quest was completed.  He turned to Freyd after flipping the window away.

"So, which one do you prefer?  I'll follow your lead."
