Wulfrin replied to Acanthus's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Man now I want a burger," Wulfrin scowled as combat erupted alongside the mention of a McGuffin. Shaking off the creeping urge to eat, Wulfrin drew Icingdeath and charged the Matriarch engaged with Acanthus. With that the party was effectively split with two players to a matriarch. Watching as Acanthus opened with the familiar stun art, he opted to hit the matriarch in its defenses. With a heavy thud, Wulfrin's blade collided with the hardened scales of his foe causing its naturally armored hide to fracture revealing the fleshy bits beneath. "Now it's time to put you on ice," Wulfri - Today

Mari replied to Mari's topic in Intermediate Floors
Mari listened quietly as Freyd talked about the last raid boss; driven mad - oozing. It sounded…similar to other things he had looked into, but for the time being. Mari kept silent, it was best to listen right now - she was oh so very out of the loop. The man before her is a clear tribute to that fact. Just what changed to make him irrevocably more…humane Her mind began to work through the information, cogs and neurons long since dormant started to move, and spark once more. “You know…” She began, “This sounds awfully similar to the things you were looking into earlier.” Mari said pensive -
Wulfrin made his way down to Floor 1. Today was a little different from his other trips this low. A typical trip consisted of a bit of fishing or on the extremely common occasion, guiding a newbie or two through Dorian's string of fetch quests that the game liked to call a tutorial. In his opinion, it didn't really do much beyond get them used to swinging a sword and rummaging around for rewards. The true test of an up and coming swordsman, or woman, was actual combat. Even better a string of bosses that Wulfrin had started to work through multiple times, but had never managed to complete. Tha

[[PP-F29]] Time for a REAL drink <<On The House>>
Freyd replied to Mari's topic in Intermediate Floors
No lashing out. No bitter bile spewed or accusations. “Is…does this event seem a little…off to you too?” In more ways than one. “The letters and words seem a little jumbled. Everything here is.” Epiphany strikes. “That’s why you’re here.” “Moth to the flame. Guilty as charged." Hefting himself onto the remnants of a stool, he glanced at the parchment without gleaning much. "This whole floor is completely off its rocker. Nothing here makes much sense, which seems to be this place’s particular meta-puzzle. When we fought the last raid boss, the mob had been twisted grote -

[[PP-F29]] Time for a REAL drink <<On The House>>
Mari replied to Mari's topic in Intermediate Floors
Mari visibly calmed down after the strange shadow had left. Montjoy an add name - but she couldn’t question it, she literally named her koi fish familiar, Kohaku - literally koi. Her shoulders fell and a long, low breath escaped her lips - blowing steam into the cold room. Her stance shifted, moving even weight to one foot as she picked up the piece of paper beneath the lantern Freyd had mentioned. Mari made no movement, no flinches, as she heard, then felt him approach. Standing opposite of the bar. She wasn’t mad at Freyd. She wasn’t upset with him. He had hurt her - but that was the p -

Wulfrin replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Thank god," Wulfrin sighed to himself as Freyd announced they were nearing the end. If it was one final push that they needed, Wulfrin would do his best to provide. He blasted forward, sword arcing wildly through the air. Turns out not being familiar with your combos is quite the detriment. Not a single strike found purchase in their gelatinous foes. "DAMN IT!" Wulfrin shouted in frustration. "I cannot land a hit to save my life against these things!" Wulfrin planted his feet and gritted his teeth. He was preparing a follow up. Next time will be different. Next time I WILL hit one -

Freyd replied to Mari's topic in Intermediate Floors
“Unfortunately, I’m looking for something with a little more body - but by all means - don’t let me stop you from drowning yourself in that. You seemed pretty at home slinking around with those slimy abominations out there.” A weaksauce rebuke? She was either out of practice, or playing it coy until she knew who she was dealing with. His complete nonchalance about her orange marker might have put her on edge, being more readily accustomed to people freaking out in proximity - especially anyone knowing her past. Clues continued to drop, wondering how long it would take. . A promp -

KnightessCiela replied to Acanthus's topic in Beginner Floors
Ciela offered Acanthus a warm, reassuring smile, her tone light and full of kindness. “No worries at all. We all forget little things sometimes, don’t let it get you down, honey. Life’s full of distractions, and it happens to the best of us.” Her gaze drifted to the open training area where Kumaki was padding around energetically, tail swishing and nose twitching with curiosity. The little bear was working so hard. Perlita, on the other hand, was having an entirely different kind of day. Ciela caught sight of her familiar pawing at a potted plant by the door, squeaking at the swaying -
The Winged Priestess never stood a chance. Persi, easily the G.O.A.T. within the party did what she did best and halted Athia's attempt to survive with gnashing teeth and claws. Before long, their foe was on the ground flailing helplessly. It was a familiar set up for Wulfrin, as Freyd and he had performed the maneuver many times before, most notably on Terra Firma. Wulfrin would not waste the opening and charged, Icingdeath glowing bright with the light effect generated by his strongest art. The goal was to end this here and now. With a series of heavy and consecutive strikes on the clipped w

Mari replied to Mari's topic in Intermediate Floors
The stranger, a bearded man with an almost jovial smile responded - "Pretty much always, except when you might actually want it to." Something was off about this man. Mari couldn’t quite pick it. There was a familiarity with the way his gaze fell upon her, he seemed relaxed. Which was fine, but it was almost too relaxed. He held himself in a manner of someone speaking to an old friend. Maybe…that’s just how he was, Baldur was always similar in that way. "You could have just stayed outside and kept your mouth open for that." The lion, the witch, and the audacity of this bitch. -

*Note: Giving Freyd his Hyperactive (+3 EN) Standard Recovery +4 EN, 244259 | Recovery CD: 4 (No Proc), Vengeful Riposte Refreshed, Justified Riposte Refreshed, Parry Duration [2/3], Charge Refreshed, Concentration CD {2/5} A roar of flames danced across the room, attack after attack would bleed out in a reverberating demolition site sending sprays of muck all to and from. Eruda, Wulfrin, Freyd and Morningstar. All held fast within that tide, covered from head to toe in it. The very foe they faced would get obliterated, reform and proceed to be erased again. Each time it would reappear -
Taking inspiration from Macradon's style and flair, Freyd was already airborne as Raidou slammed the valkyries' mistress harshly, forcing her to suck stone. Familiar tones of a mob's shattering defenses were greeted by the banshee's wail that were Samael's Pride releasing its celestial seals. Maybe the two mythologies just didn't like each other. Maybe the material void wrapped around his fists was just hungry. Maybe the universe was just letting them have this one. Who cared? Diving down from on high, the Whisper's fury crashed through Athia's hide like a meteorite through butter. H

[[PP-F29]] Time for a REAL drink <<On The House>>
Freyd replied to Mari's topic in Intermediate Floors
Freyd's widened at the sight of her, like a child watching something deemed impossible manifest itself before them in defiance of suppressed naivete. That wonderlust slain by jaded aging and the dreaded pragmatism of adulthood. Yet, in that moment, the oppressive gloom of their surroundings melted away and even the heaviest downpour failed to keep his spirit from alighting with cherished relief. Dozens of questions piled up behind his lips, vying for control of his larynx, denying any one of them access to his voice. All that emerged was an awkward gurgle and snort as she did all the thing -
*Yoink, Freeze faded from Ciela's attack. Damage skipped on Raidou Standard Recovery +4 EN, Recovery | ?, CD: ? (No Need), Concentration Refreshed, Howl Refreshed A spray of arrows manage to clip him one after another, pushing the man on the defensive. In that harrowing however, the others would descend upon that harpie with renewed fervor. Utterly blind to them, she'd find herself cordoned and avoiding one attack from Freyd before being blindsided and sent rattling to the floor by Wulfrin. A helmet drops with a rattling as it rolls, a shield finds itself inserted into the floor with a

Mari sniffed, trying to wipe tears from her stinging eyes - but all that did was wipe more grime into them, which resulted in more tears. She didn’t want to cry in this moment, because she wasn’t sad. She was relieved. It was like she wasn’t truly alive those past few years - and that being here..amidst the golden hues of falling leaves and flickering lanterns the soft chill of a breeze… “I’m Alive…” She muttered. And in the next breath, she was almost knocked back to the floor. She lost her footing and had to grip onto gauntlet clad shoulders to stop them both from falling flat. “M

Mari replied to Mari's topic in Intermediate Floors
Somehow, despite being lost, and completely soaked by the onslaught of rain - Mari had found herself in what she thought was…the remnants of a village. Or maybe, an outpost? A port? It was impossible to tell. “Eargh..” She lifted a foot up as she felt something distinctly slimy move over it. "You're alive?!" A voice called out, to her right. Mari blinked and turned to see the source of the sound. Under the rumbling ruins of a building - almost safe from the torrential storm - stood a tall man. There was a slight hesitation as she stared at the unfamiliar face. Her eyes glanced up to
