"Hai!" A cheerful short bow given to his fellow captain's orders, it seemed only fair to show such respect after messing with her. This was their way, and he wouldn't change it for the world. "We'll find this butcher at a slaughterhouse about a mile from Glyndebourne - just far enough to keep the wind from carrying the smell. And gird your stomach's if you're at all squeamish. This place is quite the sight." Last time he visited Freyd defeated the Midnight Ripper, only to find himself what could only be described as a horde of meat golems. “-except knot tying. That's stuff's just impossible." Mari laughed softly at his remark as she picked up the metal case and put it to the side, she could explain that one later. Somehow, Freyd had always managed to do this, say something innocuous that made her feel better. “Don’t have daughters.” Mari said with a faint smile. “They’ll want all manner of braids. No amount of YouTube videos could ever prepare me for that.” It was bittersweet. Mari rarely got to mention her daughter, and it pained her to…but the memory was sweet. Trying to match a video at 6 am in the morning, only to fail

virtues// hard-working// Lydia has always had her eyes on the prize. Even if her parents hadn't forced her, she would have worked as hard as she could to make her dreams come true. It was never a challenge to get her to focus on the goal. It was always right in front of her, just out of reach. And she would prefer it stay that way. Nothing is worse than an artist with nothing to strive for. insightful// Working in the industry, Lydia had to develop a sixth sense for those who wanted to get over on her. Or get her under them. A smile slid across his face, and somewhere deeply he was filled with regrets. "Mia fiamma.. No man made prison can hold me. This remains true" He'd lean toward her and pinch the part of his cigarette that stuck in his mouth. "But I am afraid that I may be trapped in a prison I will want to be in, mi amore. And it terrifies me." He'd turn that smoke around and place it in her mouth, breaching her personal bubble "I am enraptured, captured. enthralled. by you. seducente" Rubbing his face as he fights with his own decision, trying to let a cooler head prevail. "That fire, passion. Its addicting,

Watching and listening as Mari played show and tell like they were in arms dealer kindergarten, Freyd measured his responses by opening and closing cupboards he knew would be empty. Returning to the fire’s edge with a smattering of mismatched second hand dishes, he laid them out between them. The wasp thing just sounded unnecessarily complex. Wouldn’t a smoke bomb or modest irritant do the same trick? Why bother with the insects? Maybe it played against some subtle coding technicality that enabled it to avoid categorization as an environmental effect, and bypassed the over-relied up

The man was clearly hesitant, Mari couldn’t blame him. She had accidentally encroached too far into his personal space. Too curious for her own good. What would Freyd call it? Heh Obsessive. “Mmm…..” A noise of thought. She had already apologized, and had calmed down enough from the previous encounter. The field was covered in debris. In smashed vegetables, and the two fiery Pkers were covered in dirt. She accepted the bottle, and took three long drawn out gulps from it. Hoping to get that pleasant buzz back. She paused when she felt his fingers brush against her skin- pulling a strand of

"Thank you..." Those quiet whispered words flooded Mari with relief. Things weren’t beyond repair. Things would be okay. This wasn’t the end of the world, this was just a little bump in the road. Maybe Mari could find a friend in Elora…that’d be nice. Mari needed more female friends. With the two now sitting at the table, both looking equally dejected, Mari couldn’t help but sigh. The words slipped from her mouth without her even realizing. “Gods…you two really love each other huh? Its so obvious…” She felt a little envious. It must be nice to have someone like tha

"Sometimes? This has been happening more often?" Mari nodded as she picked up the small sphere of wasps. Turning it to and fro in her hands. “Yeh..twice today, once yesterday on the first floor, and once after leaving your place that day I met Elora. I get these dizzy spells, like the world is spinning. Sometimes I can feel myself passing out, so I do my best to get to a semi safe location. She was being truthful with him. There was no reason to lie. Not to Freyd. "And what is that smell?!" “A repellant. It helps keep monsters at bay. Stinks to high hell though. Sorry about

Lancaster starts to pat himself down, putting the flames out across his arms and shoulders. Then he'd turn and start to rub the bit of garbage on his hands on his upper pant legs. The farmer army had been satisfied, given the primary culprit was obliterated and the others were beyond the safe zones range. Out of nowhere Mari starts rounding him like a lioness, sniffing him and sliding under his arm. Lancaster is a little addled by the sharp jump in interest, holding his arm up limply as the woman started almost digging in his pockets. Allowing it given she had just saved him quite a bit of tim

“That happens sometimes.” "Sometimes? This has been happening more often?" Part of him wanted to scold her for being so dense to the threat she was incubating in her own self-inflicted blind spots. That was how it always started with her. She did because it was neat, fun or enticing, thought being relegated to later consideration. References to the absent-minded professor trope plagued his mind, with considerably enhanced lethality. "And what is that smell?!" Waving his hands before him while she removed her overgarments, he was too distracted by the stench to appreciate the wom

She watched as yet again, a life was taken before her very eyes. A part of her…a very small part of her was glad it happened. The man was a prick. He clearly enojoyed doing what he was doing. He instigated and caused all this chaos and for what? For why? Mari never was one to judge someone for messing up or messing with NPCs. She couldn’t give a rats ass about them, but this clearly involved more than that. Other players? Targeting a food source? Mari shifted her gaze over the farmstead - with the main instigator now gone, the attacking farmers were few and far between, most gave chase to

personality// Lysette wears a mask constantly. She wears her stage makeup like armor. Bold with a subtle hint of eroticism. Cheerful. The life of the party. The one everyone wants to meet. She plays up her assets, her talents and her pretty face. She's an icon, a pop star. Those acting lessons really help her sell it. You'd have to pay close attention to know that she was just faking it. That those bright smiles have small cracks. That those bright eyes rarely show any deep emotion. That she wants to puke every time she has to flirt with someone to seal a deal. But Lydia isn't enough.

background// From a young age, Lydia's first love was dance. She was incredibly talented, throwing her whole heart into her craft. Lydia never felt so alive as when she nailed a challenging routine. Her parents, upon seeing her natural gifts, threw every resource they had into molding her into a triple threat. They paid for acting lessons, voice training. Lydia's life was late nights practicing until her voice was raw. School was an afterthought, life skills irrelevant. She wouldn't need to know how to cook if she made it big, after all. So Lydia threw everything she had into it. She had

Bliss replied to KnightessCiela's topic in Intermediate Floors
A soft blush rose across Bliss’ cheeks as Astra spoke, his words echoing in her chest, his heart felt stronger since they met. Her own heart skipped, thudded, fluttered. It felt like something inside her had shifted, as if everything was just… lighter now. No one had ever said anything like that to her before, not with that kind of sincerity. It was overwhelming and beautiful all at once. When Astra gently guided their joined hands to rest on the blanket between them, still laced tightly together, Bliss instinctively tightened her grip. She didn’t want to let go. Not now. Maybe not ever. -
Mari tried to protest as she felt herself being lifted up off the ground. She wanted to fight and squirm but her body wouldn’t allow it. It was cold. She was cold, and her limbs felt heavy as though they were carrying the weight of the world. “F-Freyd…” Mari managed, her voice a groaned whisper. “I’ll be okay in a minute.” She believed those words. The door to her home slammed open with a fierce kick. The place smelled musty, and dust motes floated in the air. It was clear she wasn’t here often. Or hadn’t been here for a long…long time. She was placed on the floor in front of her firepla
