[PT | F21 | PP] The Return of the King | <<Betrayal of the King>>
Freyd replied to Sakura's topic in Intermediate Floors
ph *** Freyd's Action: Enemy's Action: -
Freya twists her head locking eyes with Kasumi. It would seem that Freya was doing that thing again. Gaius got after her several of times about being so random. One time he even grabbed her by the shoulders and just told her to stop talking and breath. "I'm sorry Kasumi," saying as she slinks into the warmness. Thinking about how many topics came up in just the few minutes, the poor girl was listening to commercials on a damn radio. Taking a few minutes to breath, crossing her legs in the water as she closed her eyes. Her hands would float on top of the liquid. "Sometimes my brain goes wild an

[PT | F06 | SP] Shadowed Figures | <<The Gemini>>
Sakura replied to Sakura's topic in Beginner Floors
She wasn’t sure which was louder to her ears; the sudden snap of the crossbow’s firing mechanism as it launched the bolt, or the impact as it tore through the side of the Gemini’s face, causing it to spin and fall to the ground in a heap. The hood had returned to cover the Gemini’s face, and Aoi found a measure of peace now that the mirror like expressions had disappeared from sight – the feature more unnerving than Aoi had noticed at first, or during the fight itself. Now that it was gone, however, she felt a measure of tension disappear from her as she fell back against the rock that she had -

Aoi’s bolt released from her crossbow, the ammunition slamming into the ground only a pair of steps too far from the Gemini. The mirror image of herself didn’t hesitate, lunging towards Aoi even as she struggled to get another of the bolts loaded into the weapon, trying to bring it up and finish the fight before she could be stabbed once more. Aoi felt as the weapon slammed into her side, sending her reeling backwards once more and careening off a nearby stone that had lined the edge of the pool. Shit, that hurt! There was no denying the pain as she gritted her teeth, her mind trying to - Yesterday

[PT | F06 | SP] Shadowed Figures | <<The Gemini>>
Sakura replied to Sakura's topic in Beginner Floors
Whether it was lost in its own thoughts, or simply hadn’t expected the movement, the Gemini reeled backwards as Aoi’s bolt struck the left side of its shoulder. She’d thrown her arm upwards and released the bolt suddenly in a hope to catch her opponent off guard – the ploy working almost perfectly as the Gemini stared back in a mixture of confusion and shock, the mirror mask expression breaking away as it seemed to allow its own emotions to roil through to the surface. Or is that my own shock and surprise at my success in the gambit? Whatever the reason for it, Aoi had managed to cut into -

The Gemini feinted left, before moving towards the right – a coincidence that happened to work in the favour of Aoi as she dodged to the left immediately, her mind realising too late that she had made her way towards the Gemini’s original path of attack. By the time either one realised what had occurred, they had already passed each other and slid to a stop almost directly across from where they’d started. ’Was…woops?’ Aoi felt a grin come to her face despite the severity of the situation, the hilarity of such a silly accident overcoming any fear or concern she had about the Gemini’s atte -
It was either the heat from the water or Freya's strange hyperactive leaping from topic to topic that was making her head spin. It was all just a little overwhelming, and very very strange. Kasumi sinks in just a little deeper, covering the lower half of her face with the water. Peeking out with just her eyes, kind of how a gator would. The blonde was excitable and bombastic, wound up and felt completely random. Trying her best to compute the odd ball expression of all these facts like they were going to end up on some sort of pop quiz, Kasumi hesitates as she slinks back up to allow herself t

Sakura replied to Sakura's topic in Beginner Floors
They’d both moved at the same time, Aoi’s crossbow hand coming up as the Gemini figure dove beneath her line of sight and rolled back to its feet. The bolt that Aoi had fired the moment they’d both moved launched into the distance, disappearing into a collection of shrubs and brush behind the Gemini, and ceasing to exist as far as Aoi was concerned. In response to the Gemini’s own attack, Aoi had launched herself backwards, slamming her back into the ground as she’d fallen – less than gracefully – to the ground before rolling to the side and popping back to her feet. Rather than chase her -

The bolt slammed directly into the thing’s throat, causing the hood to fall back and reveal the face beneath. Whoever the NPC was meant to be, the appearance was anything but what Aoi would have expected as she stared into familiar features. That’s…me. The face was an exact replica of her own, the eyes staring back at her knowing what she was seeing, and apparently taking pleasure in her surprise and confusion. Aoi paused for a brief second, before remembering that she was still fighting. Moving backwards, she reloaded the crossbow as she tried to drive the oddness of the persona before h -

She could feel as the dagger slammed into her side, sending her reeling and rolling away from the hooded figure. A health bar and name had appeared above its head, and Aoi caught sight of the words just as she was pulled away from the thing and tossed to the ground. The Gemini? I guess this is the boss thing I’m supposed to face…damned if that didn’t hurt. She’d glanced up at her own health bar, seeing the massive dip in her health and suddenly wondering if she’d bit off more than she could chew with this fight. ’Fear is natural. Fear of harm. Fear of pain. Fear of death. Have you overcom -

Sakura replied to Sakura's topic in Intermediate Floors
Things were going well, though Aoi wasn’t blind to the fact that her original plan to face the King alone would have been suicide. She would have to make it up to Freyd, she knew that – though how she could, was beyond her at the moment. She stood back, reloading her crossbow and eyeing the fight going on between the King and Freyd – that’s the real fight here, I’m just the annoying wasp at the edges of existence – awed by the power shown between the two figures. There was no doubt to any here who was holding the true power in it all, though, as Freyd removed the arm from the Kingly figure wit -

Baldur replied to Baldur's topic in Intermediate Floors
"Good work everyone, let's head back to the base camp at Hirru's wagon and see if any more of these things have been sighted. Hopefully someone there has an idea if the end is in sight. We need to figure out what's going to trigger the boss fight before one of these slips through to the lower floors and starts duping itself for real." With an almost ceremonial slash of his sword, Baldur sheathed the blade at his hip once more, the water flying form the tip of his blade in lieu of blood. There was no blood here, but the rain off the blade made it feel more real. The explosion of pixels was -

Sable replied to Acanthus's topic in Beginner Floors
The apparitions that walked the room had startled Sable. Did they appear once the door had been shut or had he missed them entirely during the commotion leading up to them bursting through the doors. Regardless they had looked almost completely corporal, unless you looked at them long enough to catch the lightest hint of the wall behind them showing through. As the two advanced into the mausoleum they passed by, and sometimes through, several thin and extremely pale individuals. "I wonder who they were." he asked aloud, inspecting a man and a woman having what appeared to be a fruitful convers -
“Too tarnished?” Oscar’s words came out with an incredulous inflection. He cocked an eyebrow, his eyes locking onto hers. He was quiet for a long moment. He took exception to the notion. Just who had told her that? And what did her past have to do with the here and now. Oscar existed in the present. He didn’t let his own past hang over him. He accepted it. It was formative. Important. Every single moment coalescing into the person her was right now. It was the same for everyone. It didn’t define them, merely created them. Everyone, everything. And it was true for Mari as well. “That

“I’m not exactly taken in the traditional sense,” He wasn’t? Mari was still leaning over the man, his head tilted back to look up at her. One arm still leaning back against the grassy ground, the other seemed to linger where he had brushed tendrils of her fiery hair behind her ear. She must have given him quite the confused look, because he continued, explaining. Ah they were in one of those relationships. What was it? Polyamory? Polygamy. Something Mari was familiar with, but never exactly had much luck with. “Yanno…” Mari began, trying to choose her words carefully.

No sooner had he sunk his dagger into the beast's surprisingly soft stone flesh, the Colossus violently shuddered, jerking its body in such an extreme, contortionist fashion that Pinball's blades were practically ripped out of it, leaving him to plummet. Pinball grit his teeth hard -- he noticed Acanthus holding on as he fell, wind whipping past his ears -- and hit the ground harder. He was left momentarily dazed. For a moment, he'd felt as though he'd made some sort of grave error. Like he truly was falling to his death, and leaving important business unfinished. Not quite so. The fall had ba

Oscar could only crack a smile at her words. Despite her preconceived notions, he was - in fact - in a position to help her. His relationship with Cordelia had always been an atypical one. While they were fully devoted to one another, neither had a mind to keep the other. There were so many people - men and women - that the two could find satisfaction in. They would always come home to the other, but there was much freedom in what happened in between. “I’m not exactly taken in the traditional sense,” Oscar corrected. He never really got into the details of his relationship. But Mari was a

It was abject chaos. Chaos made more profound as Abellio just went with it. At a glance, it was easy enough to figure out that he needed to put things between the hordes of spooky scary knights and the teleportation platform. Luckily, the town was half in ruined. So the innards of the buildings would make for useful barricades. The issues arose when Abellio realized that he did not have even the slightest talent for hammering nails to boards. Not that he would really have the opportunity. There simply wasn't enough time to nail down proper obstacles for the slowly-approaching mobs. Every time,

"You know," Oscar interjected. "There was a time in my life where my default response was to beat the stupid out of someone." Oscar dismissed his weapon, his dominant hand moving to the right to begin rolling up his sleeve. The strange woman's actions were putting people's lives at risk. Maybe she didn't know. Oscar wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. Because the alternative would have been a bigger issue. "Problem is I can't do that. You're so ridiculously weak that if I used my sword, I'd probably accidentally kill you." He paused to roll up the sleeve on his opposite arm. With
